Hi @Shanzilla,

I live with (insanely) dry skin and live at high altitude--I feel your struggles. Depending on what type of coverage you're looking for, you might try Milk's <LI-PRODUCT title="MILK MAKEUP Sunshine Skin Tint Clean Foundation" id="P417353_"></LI-PRODUCT>. I've been using this for the past couple of years now and love it. The coverage is definitely buildable--I typically wear a thin layer for every day wear and build a bit more for date nights and whatnot. My skin stays hydrated the entire day and it never highlights any dry spots I might be battling at the moment.

And, while I don't mix the oil with it, #GUERLAIN Abeille Royale Advanced Youth Watery Oil wears nicely over top. I sometimes apply this throughout the day for a little bit of extra glow. I've also used <LI-PRODUCT title="COOLA Full Spectrum 360° Refreshing Water Mist Organic Face Sunscreen SPF 18 1.7 oz/ 50 mL" id="P455618_2204089"></LI-PRODUCT> in the dryer months. A little goes a long way with both.

Hope that helps!

So I wanted to ask what foundations are your fave. I have such a hard time finding ones that work. All the popular ones, are out of the question.. mostly cause matte looks horrible on me. Any foundation I wear I mix a drop or two of oil in it and that does help a lot. You probably wont reply, but yeah... i have zero friends into makeup so, I took a chance and sent a message

Thanks for the reply! I wasn't expecting that answer. I've never used it, but from what I've seen from reviews it's very very sheer. Which I like sheer, I dont usually go past medium coverage.. so maybe I'll have to try it. If it stays all day, because it's humid where I live and I also sweat at work. I ordered #Estée Lauder Double Wear thinking I would just mix oil in and it would be fine, but now I'm thinking that was a horrible mistake. It's one of those that seems to work for everyone online, but probably not in real life hah. Currently I switch between #CLINIQUE Even Better Glow and #Urban Decay Hydromaniac .. I love the clinique, not the urban decay tho. I just really want to find my holy grail base..

I love the Morphe 2 hint hint skin tint! it’s really good for dry skin and it gives you a nice radiant look. it’s also super light on the skin and has pretty good coverage. the best thing about it is it ACTUALLY looks like skin. i literally refuse to use any other foundation/ skin tint. I recommend giving it a try 🙂

Anything that looks like skin, is something I'm willing to try! Thanks! Surprisingly the EL Double Wear looks amazing, I just mix in a drop of #Farmacy Honey Grail and it's dewy and lasts all day. Never would have thought.

It’s a beautiful foundation and works great with dry skin. I see you mentioned below you also like sheer coverage, <LI-PRODUCT title="bareMinerals Mini COMPLEXION RESCUE™ Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream SPF 30" id="P472965_"></LI-PRODUCT> is a nice sheer base, good for no makeup days, and <LI-PRODUCT title="Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Natural Skin Perfector" id="P310930_"></LI-PRODUCT> is a good light base as well.

Hi @Shanzilla, adding a drop of oil to your foundation is a fabulous way to help the foundation from being too dry or matte and to keep your skin moisturized. A few foundations that I like include:

<LI-PRODUCT title="Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Oil-Free Foundation" id="P393401_"></LI-PRODUCT>- this has been in my foundation rotation for year, decades actually. It says it's medium-to-full coverage but I think it's more medium coverage and buildable but not quite to full coverage.

<LI-PRODUCT title="Tower 28 Beauty SunnyDays SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Foundation" id="P477829_"></LI-PRODUCT> - sheer coverage

<LI-PRODUCT title="Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick Atelier II" id="P468429_2434348"></LI-PRODUCT> - I apply an oil or oil primer before this one; otherwise, it can feel a little on the drier side.

<LI-PRODUCT title="Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint" id="P391104_"></LI-PRODUCT> - don't be fooled by the name - the "tint" is really more medium to full coverage. Keeps skin hydrated and imparts a nice glow.

When my skin was at its most dry, <LI-PRODUCT title="Hourglass Mini N° 28 Primer Serum 0.27 oz/ 8 mL - Travel Size" id="P425941_1420652"></LI-PRODUCT> helped to keep my skin and foundation from caking up / drying out. To this day, I keep a mini size around, especially in the colder months. It does contain quite a bit of extracts and essential oils and you'll want to be extra mindful of that if your skin is sensitive to any of the ingredients.
