how to keep curls separated

everytime I curl my hair they all gather togther and form on big curl. does anyone know how to keep them separated?

Use something like

after you curl. Emulsify it in your hands and gently scrunch your hair to separate the large curls. It should keep the strands from rejoining into a giant curl.

If your talking about with the curling iron then try curling each curl in a different direction that way it won’t get together and make one big curl .
