Monthly Favorites: July 2021 Edition!

Hope you are having a lovely summer so far, BIC! ☀️ Does anyone else’s beauty routine change drastically according to the weather? ✋ During the warmer months, I gravitate towards skincare products that keep my oiliness at bay (oily donuts unite!), and makeup formulas that last all day while I’m out in the sun. Now, the Beauty Insider Community would love to know: what products have you been loving recently? All hair, fragrance, skincare, makeup, and wellness product recommendations are welcome! I’m sure I’m not the only one adding everyone’s favorites to my Loves list for future purchases. 😉

@GeorginaBT These are my favorites for the month:

I have been trying this in the Cali Summer heat and it’s hands down my favorite natural deodorant. It can withstand heat (tried it in the 90s) and sweat and I don’t smell any odor. I don’t have to reapply it and I didn’t have to go through a transition period with it. It’s does have that minty scent in the beginning when applying but it fades away. Plus it goes on clear so it doesn’t leave any white residue on clothes.

J.One Black Jelly Pack (Sephora used to sell this but now I get it from Costco online along with the red and white one)

Leanne Grace body butters are my absolute fav. It leaves the skin feeling so hydrated and soft. The best body butters I have tried. I have tried almost all the scents she has and they are so good. She even has an unscented one too.

I’ve been LOVING this combo lately! Acne prone aging skin, plus summer humidity and heat. Loving all of these products they’re really helping my skin so much. The cooling lotion is amazing for redness and sore skin! Totally suggest these. Still need a good sunscreen mineral suggestion though! @GeorginaBT

@GeorginaBT I've been wearing in the Prima Ballerina and Black and it's been a saving grace in the heat. I've never been a scrunchie fan, but I needed to stop pulling my hair back to tightly at work (PPE and heat is a bad combination) so this fit the bill. Plus, I don't get an indentation like I would with a regular hair band, which I haven't used in years.

I’ve been keeping things very simple lately mostly cause my energy levels have been low, which developed into me wanting to play with my natural curl pattern which then developed into a whole endeavour to coax my hair to be as naturally wavy as possible. I’ve really been enjoying the Oribe curl by définition cream. I apply it to my super wet hair after a conditioning cream and let it air dry and it’s so far the only product that seems to keep my hair from frizzing with no crunch throughout this mini project.
i absolutely adore the Kosas lip oils! It’s been a lot for me not to buy more. I purged half my lipstick collection in May after my mom passed away to reduce the load my loved ones would have to get rid of if something were to happen to me. I don’t miss anything even though I maybe should have waited til the shock wore off? it was something to do to keep busy. No regrets and im enjoying the extra space thé purge created. Maybe I’ll buy just one more lip oil. They’re sooo hydrating and creamily slippery on the lips.
The selfless by Hyram Niacinamide &maracuja was an impulse buy I’ve been glad I made. It’s a beautiful lightweight cream to gel with no discernable scent. It leaves my skin feeling hydrated and slightly tacky. It’s likely a coincidence that when I started using this my skin started feeling healthier cause wearing it coincides with me starting to wear masks less often, but I’m hooked for now. 🙂

@heartsmyface my heart goes out to you. This must be an incredibly difficult year, including the last, too. Love that you are just choosing to go with your curl(s)/waves. I have some, but they refuse to be tamed so I amuse them. 💗💗💗 and hmmm, maybe the is for me, after all🤔

ha, i posted a photo in the waywt thread. Mine are WILD right now. They DO behave better than they are today but that requires a lot more effort than I was willing to give them so wild they get to be.

Side note, I was looking at that thinking it was a way back when thread but I think it’s more of a what are you wearing today thread , ha! Also, I had a purpose to this post and it slipped my mind half-way through, so I suppose I should just say yes to the Kosas and be on my way.

I just don’t have the effort for my hair. I take care of it, why does it refuse to behave? It’s like me as a middle-schooler.

@eshoe It was a real shock to the system. It still is a lot to process, but i feel I’m out of the worst of it. Definitely in need of therapy after everything that’s happened.

:). Hair and face often battle for my attention cause I can’t quite find it in me to do both. Behaving hair means it’s a no makeup day or it’s just about time to go to bed and no one will ever see it.

I didn’t have much of a chance to try anything new this month due to a big move, but I did pick up to try since I have used and really enjoy Unseen. But I’m living in a very humid climate now and so my skincare might require a bit of adjusting. I’ve been impressed with it so far! It’s been really perfect as just a single final step in my skincare, I think it’ll work exactly as I hoped it would.
