This is the story:</P><P>Last week her house burned to the ground. They lost two of their pets and were pretty much left with the clothes on their back. The lady that got the box also has a teenaged daughter, and they intend to go through the box, take what they can use, and donate the rest. This lady ( her name is Heather) is known for her generosity. I went up to the ICU to visit her today and I told her that since I've known her, I've always heard her on the phone giving advice, support, money, gifts, etc to her entire community. I told her that this experience, although awful in some ways, was giving her the opportunity to be on the receiving end of all of the generosity she has put out in the world. It brought tears to her eyes..</P><P>It's funny because I had just heard back from the social worker that a good place to donate would be to the American Cancer Society. They have a community based program called "Look Good Feel Better." IT helps cancer patients do makeovers so that they can feel better about themselves and their situation. This is a national effort, but you can call the American Cancer Society's 800 number and find out the local chapter and donate there. This is what I will do the next time I start a TSB.
