First, make sure you don't drink through a straw or the straw-like attachment on some water bottles; that is, try not to make the "pucker" face people do when smoking or using a straw. Secondly, try a plumping-type serum or cream. Sorry I don't have a specific brand or product to recommend, although I'm currently using my Korean eye cream on my upper lip and while my lines there aren't going away, they're not getting worse either (I'm 59).

When it comes to makeup, use a neutral primer that fills in lines. I love L'Oreal's Magic Perfecting Base and it's reasonably priced. For lip products, use a liner (I like a clear one, goes with every color and doesn't show) so there is no bleeding outside the lines. Also, I think dark lip colors emphasize lines and wrinkles, as do both matte and super-glossy finishes. Go with a neutral lip or slightly rosy, and a satin finish.

Good luck! I too refuse to have artificial substances and poisons injected into my body.

Above the lip wrinkles

I’m really starting to get noticible lines above my lips. I’m 46 but I have very few other fine lines other than these and the marionette lines. Anyone know a good product to help these ‘smokers lines’ (though I don’t smoke) or do I have to look at fillers?

For those type of lines you will need a filler. The results are immediate and last 6 months to a year depending on your body metabolism. You could try serums but you will not get the same results and probably spend more $$ in a year.

Hi there! Lancome genifique eye light pearl cream is amazing for those lip lines. The eye skin is very similar to the skin above our lips. This works like a charm!

Hi @kimmien, I’m not sure if this will help, but I do use Tretinoin gel, which is a form of Retin-A, nightly. I use it for acne, but it is known for its anti-aging properties and ability to fight fine lines and wrinkles. You can only get it by prescription, but maybe it will help you. It’s probably one of the best treatments on the market to keep wrinkles at bay.
