What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
I was thinking about the number of highlighters I have and then I wondered 'what's my total haul over time?' So I added everything up... 5 Foundations 15 Blushes 2 Concealers 3 Bronzers 9 Highlighters 2 Finishing powders 195 Eye shadows (15 singles, 113 in palettes, 57 in customizable palettes, and 10 pencil shadows) 60 eyeliners (51 liners, 3 double ended liners, 2 liquid and one rim liner) 2 Brow gels This is all active makeup - not stuff I've set aside for maybe trades, and does not include any backups. I forgot to count my lip stuff, I will have to do that later! What do you have?
I got my Nordstrom card online and I couldn't resist using it right away on makeup. I've heard a lot of people rave about Nordstrom's and how much better they are than Sephora but I need details! So far, they have the standard 3 free samples that don't look any different than Sephora's but their rewards program is a bit on the high side. I think they said 2000 points puts you on the lower level. But anyway, I bought a whole bunch of Burberry lipsticks and eye shadow palette as well as my standard 5 million Nars products that I've never purchased before because I didn't think the colors were right but Nordstrom's color charts seem to be better than Sephora's. More true to color but I may be wrong. I even picked up a MAC lippie.. But I've never tried Burberry before so I wanted to get the opinion of those who use it. I picked up 3 of the Velvet Matte lipsticks and the Soft Satin lippie. I also picked up the Beauty Complete Eye Palette. While it is expensive, is it worth it? And I was eyeing some Tom Ford's. How is that?
Dear Mods, I respectfully request that ShinyMagpie be inducted into the BeautyTalk Hall of Fame. She is very helpful, and posts great info on the boards. I have no idea how long she has been here, but she has over 4,000 hearts. You only get hearts by contributing positive things, and by others seeing your value. She has been so gracious when less tenured people have become Hall of Famers before her. Please induct ShinyMagpie as a Hall of Famer I really feel she adds to my positive experience on BeautyTalk. I think others agree. Respectfully, DandyLionFluff
Hey Ladies, I'm just curious what you personally prefer, natural makeup look or makeup with extra color/pop? Also, which do you think guys/your boyfriend prefer? This is totally just for the fun of it!
Beware this is pic heavy! This is an unfiltered-terribly-shot-photo pictorial.... No sun today, it was rainy so you get the icky flash...There are some funky eyeball shots in here... continue if you dare *evil laugh* *Okay, nekkid eye -gross. Lets prime those bad boys with TooFaced Shadow insurance. Next cover that nekkid lid with a base- I chose Nyx jumbo eye pencil in milk.... blend it all out. *Start in the inner corner with yellow (brands don't matter any one will work), pack on turquoise in the middle and navy in the outer end. I make a v because i'm funky like that. Next I took a thin shadow brush, turned it sideways and start working inward. *After I put down my navy shade I went back over and packed on more color and used my little spongy friend to blend the colors together. I mostly just took the teal color and patted it gently in the transition areas- I didn't smudge them together, just touched the applicator gently and applied the teal until they were blended. * Now for the purple.....(pat-pat the color and tap-tap on the desk to knock off extra) I loaded my brush with color and put the brush down once on my lid. Then I made a swish with the color that was on my lid. I just kept gently working until I had the color blended down to the navy color. *back and forth 400 times ought to do it*.....I used the brush and my spongy friend to blend. *White goes in the brow bone area, and a big fluffy brush blends them all together. (because colors are happy when they get blended) *Now its time to give the bottom lid some love. Same color pattern as the top. I used my finger to blend them because all the sudden I have gotten lazy. *Top the lashes with a line of liquid... lining the waterline and tightline with a waterproof pencil. Do not get all panicky when you and your liner have an argument. We will fix wonky bugger later.... *Clean up the tail with a q-tip, curl those bad mama-jamma's, pop on some mascara, and apply some entirely awesome falsies. Because as bombshell says, they can make you conquer the world. *wink* *Now, I decided that I didn't have enough pink on so I adjusted the color. I straightened out that argument me and my liner had and added glitter to the brows.... (because glittery brows make you fancy) Aaaaand VOILA! There you go! Before and after: Products used: Toofaced shadow insurance Nyx jumbo pencil in milk *drumroll......* Wet-n-wild palette in "poster child" (yes its true!) Sugarpill shadows 2am (purple) and tako (white) Kat von D tattoo liner Marc Jacobs highliner Red Cherry lashes #82 Armani eyes to kill mascara Urban Decay glitter liner in distortion My cheap little spongy buddies and some random brushes. It doesn't matter what kind----any will do. and omg- now you have the longest post in the entire history. Thanks for looking! xoxo Calamity~
I went to sephora today and a very sweet lady gave me a free full on facial. She asked me if I could give her a shoutout on sephora's website, but I didn't realize, until now, that I don't know how to give a shoutout. She said it will give her points and I would love to give her those points since the facial was free and I couldn't pay her. Please let me know how to give her a shoutout!
Happy Mani Friday! Spring has been trying its hardest to show its face in San Francisco, and boy am I ready for it! I was over all of the dark colors I'd been wearing lately, so I decided to switch it up with my attempt at a watercolor inspired pattern using the new Formula X The Cut - Spring 2014 colors and Liquid Crystals . What do you think?
What are you rockin' on your tips this weekend? Show & Tell!
Hello beauties!! I just wanted to wish you all a beautiful Women's Day today! It is time to celebrate our inside and outside beauty... because we are ALL beautiful!!! Have a wonderful day ladies! And don't forget that you are amazing and beautiful!!!
Hey guys! I got the new lip lover sample in the mail and I bought one too. Below are the swatches. Top one is #333 Rose Des Nymphes, bottom was the sample #355 Framboise Etoile. Both really pretty on, very creamy great pigment and not sticky. I like them. they are perfect for spring!
~*~*~*~*~ No Buy Thread for Feb/Mar 2014~*~*~*~*~ I n an attempt to be a conscious/responsible shopper instead of beauty product hoarder, I went on a no buy from mid-Dec to mid-Jan. Now that I've done my little shopping splurge, time to save up some money for tax and other boring needs. Therefore, I am now on a no-buy for the whole month of Feb and March . The goal for rest of the year is to spend just enough to qualify for VIB , and I'm going to try fund most of it through Swagbucks/Bing Rewards/Ebates (PM me if you want to know more about those sites). To keep myself accountable, I will tally up my total Sephora and beauty spending here as I go along. Yes, I'm airing out my dirty laundry. Anyone/everyone is welcome to join me. This is not meant to bash any particular products, but if you post then I'll give you reasons why you should delay the purchase, consider the alternative, or why you don't need it. I do not intend to judge or offend, so the disabler kitty will be helping me to keep the tone light: I will keep all my disabling to this thread, so please, ladies, let's not turn this into an enable thread . And I may need a little nudge from you ladies to help disable my own urges, too. =) Now then, will I succumb to exciting advertisements and fancy packaging? or will I hold onto my will power and succeed in actually saving some money?
The lovely MYchoi was fabulous enough to offer to ship me some delicious treats from California to Pennsylvania. She knows I LOVE Asian food but have no Asian markets near my homestead. Here are some of the wonderful things she included: ^Large flat rate box JAM-PACKED with goodies! ^Seaweed. ^Melon flavored gummies (one of my favorites!) and melon flavored hard candies. ^Green tea, panda, and strawberry pocky. I busted into the green tea pocky IMMEDIATELY! ^Various crackers/biscuits/pies. ^Bae, various mochi, and green tea swiss rolls (another fave). ^Strawberry Calpico, aloe drink, and melon yogurt drink. Do any of you have any favorite Asian foods, or foods from your culture or other cultures that you love?
It's that time again! So February was better than January but what will March bring? Big congratulations to the following BT members who have joined ipsy they are Spacesuit Highly doubtful that we would get a sneak peek today but should have one starting Monday! 1st sneak peak Confirmed bareminerals marvelous movie lip gloss and Bareminerals marvelous moxie lipstick 2nd sneak peek 3rd sneak peek 4th sneak peek
I'd rather buy La Mer than spend my $$ going out tonight :x Normally my beauty hauls don't have much La Mer products in there thats why I decided to post this one because I am very excited to add to my La Mer collection!! Also SO excited to play around with the Naked 3 palette!!
Is it bad that on the first of the month I wake up like a kid at Christmas, turn on my computer, and proceed to shop my lil heart away?Is it bad that makeup hauls are always the first thing purchased? Is it bad...probably... Sorry... Psst....not sorry
TRADE THREAD #3 Overall trades have gone very well and many cosmetic items have found themselves new homes! However, there have been some trades that have not gone as well, so this trade post has been revised – please read it carefully! GUIDELINES Listing Your Items Please list what you have available, the condition, add a photo (if you have a lot, consider posting them under "spoiler" - the little face icon with a hand over its eyes - so tons of images don't flood the page for people scrolling) , and what you are interested in for trade. You may wish to list your location, such as the U.S. When something you have to offer is no longer available, please go back and edit your post to keep the listings more accurate! Because a number of fake items have been sent in trades, it is strongly advised you provide photos of your higher-end items, including the labeling (you may be asked for it anyway) and list WHERE you purchased the item from. Fakes are readily available from less reputable sellers and can contain toxins! It is important to everyone to know where their cosmetics come from. Acquiring Items Please use discretion with whom you enter into trades with. There is a summarized list of trusted traders here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/LIST-of- the-Successful-Traders-or-TB/td-p/1071289 Protect yourself in your trades, ask questions (such as where an item was purchased), ask for additional photos (to show level of usage and/or labeling to prove authenticity). If you don’t feel 100% comfortable doing a trade because someone is new, you can request they send their items first. Communication Please consider using the Private Messages system on Beauty Talk to help ensure someone knows you are trying to contact them. You can set up to receive an email when you get a PM in your preferences. You can also access your messages by looking under your profile on the left side of the main Beauty Talk page under your avatar and clicking on the envelope. Communication is key! Even if there is a mail delay to the giant blizzard or ice storm of 2014, not being able to get in touch with the person you are trading with is very frustrating! If you are on either side of a trade, please make sure you are able to stay in touch with the other person through the end of the trade. If you will be unable to communicate for a period of time, try to let them know that. Delivery Having tracking and insurance on shipments goes a long way to figuring out where an item might be. The USPS even puts anticipated delivery dates and the tracking numbers right on the receipts now! SUCCESSFUL TRADE EXPERIENCES? Consider providing your feedback on successful trades on this thread here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/Successf ul-Trades-or-TSB-Experiences/td-p/1012387 Please also see the previous trade thread: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/Product- Trade-Thread-01-2014-TWO/m-p/1021537 Happy trading!
So Glam Glow is having a sale where it's items are 20% with code "GLAM20" i just thought i share...to me it's not worth it because with the shipping i'm only saving 8 bucks. just visit their site and click on products.
I have a US post box..But I live in Canada. My dilemma is My CAD cart is 134, my USA cart is 110. If I order it to the USA, I save 24 bucks, and I get my package like..at least a week faster. And good chance I won't pay duty. If I order to CAD, I get charged 24 more, it takes a week or two longer to get my package, and may get charge duty. US is kind of a hassle.. But is it worth it?? Huge First World Problem, WWYD?
Hi ladies and gents, In keeping with the haul tradition, I thought I'd go ahead and start one for March! I can't WAIT to see all your fun and colorful goodies for the upcoming Spring season . This post is welcome to all, and as lilahtov said, a haul is a haul no matter how small .

So I go through phases with different culture and now I'm on a Korean phase, Korean music, Korean TV show, Korean skincare, and Korean food. I saw ppl eating Bindaetteok on a show and really really want to make it. Does anyone have a good recipe for that? Also, does anyone have any good recipe for any Korean food aside from Kimchi fried rice (the one dish I made/liked so far).
So I thought I was alone in this, but apparently many of you did too! We know we're not supposed to pick. We know it can lead to scars and infections. We know it hurts. But we can't help it. I'm starting this thread so that anyone who suffers with picking can have a safe space and judgement-free zone. Please feel free to share whatever you need. Be warned: some things written here may seem "gross." Please don't judge or tell us how gross they are. We got that already, and that's not the point of this thread. xoxo, Lauren
So I'd like to maintain a board for the Canadian customers. A place where we can share our events, promos, problems etc. I sometimes see deals and info for Canadians and rather then posting a new convo all the time maybe we can just share on this board. I think it would be easier to communicate with each other if we only had one board to follow. - I recently posted that Nail Polish Canada has free shipping on any orders for a limited time. EDITED: Anyone interested in getting Tonymoly products you can contact them via their Canadian Facebook page to place an order. 5$ shipping, free over purchases 50$. I think they have a store in Pacific Mall in Markham ON Tarte now ships to Canada!
