Lately I've been amping my looks up for work (server, mostly in the 21 and up area). And wow people like turn around and ladies rave. It's big confidence boosters. And I can thank sephora. I wish I had a picture but I wore the fake eyelashes on sale with the silver glitter, then sephoras glitter glue, a mix of sephora eyeshadow in diamonds are forever and mufes loose silver glitter, and a red lip. Hair in a top bun and a Xmas bow. Loving it. Thank you sephora. I return the favor by telling my customers.

When do you start wrapping Christmas presents? This year, surprisingly, my boyfriend has been super speedy and proactive. I have wrapped nothing and everything is sitting in a pile on my dining room table. I have zero motivation and wonder who's in the same boat?

I'm looking for workouts I can do at home.  Trying to get healthy in 2015 (who isn't... right?)  I love hip hop type workouts.  (Les Mills BodyJam was my fav...don't have that where I live now)   Cosmo just launched a new site that streams workouts, but it's pretty new so not a lot of info is out there.   I know the Daily Burn has been around for a while...anyone have thoughts on this service?   Are there other services that you'd recommend instead?   Thanx

I noticed there were threads about people buying and trading boxes of samples on here. I'm trying to find posts but am having a hard time so If anyone knows what I should type in, that'd be lovely. Or if anyone has offers on here. I don't want to trade or sell. I like samples, and I give them to my sisters and mother too, so I'd like to buy. I have never done anything like that so I'll probably only respond to people I've seen on here (I read more than I write on here). I also don't know how to pay, so I'd need direction. It just seems really fun to do so if anyone wants to make extra bucks hit me up or point me to the right post. Pleases and thankyous : )

I just had to say that I had the two best customer service experiences of my life!  One at Sephora and the other at Nordstrom's.  I went to a Sephora while visiting my father in Florida and I just had the most refreshing moment with an SA.  I was just lounging through the mall (my father was being grumpy with not finding what he wanted) so I found a Sephora (I'm not sure how many there are in Miami, LOL!  It was near Aventura I think...) and I was just walking around.  Wandering really when the nicest SA came up with me and we started chatting.  We were just goofing off (something never seen by me in a Sephora on a Saturday night) and all of a sudden she was showing me stuff that she thought I might like and stuff that are her HG.  She must have spent an hour and a half on me!  I've never felt so wanted in a Sephora before in my life.  They normally act like they want me to go away unless I'm getting a makeover.  Then they want to show me everything!  I didn't get her name (I think it was Marla) but she was truly the best.  She almost got me to buy Kat's Interstellar but no one is that good!   Then I had a kick **bleep** Nordstrom's experience!  Two within 5 days!  I had just come back from Florida on Tuesday and I didn't go online for the whole time I was with my father so I was behind on all my sales and things.  I called Norstrom's because I was coming into the store on Saturday (eh!  the Saturday before Christmas at the mall!) to pick up some stuff and I wanted to see if they were in stock.  I got the greatest stylist named Michael!  He sat there and looked through the Chanel section for the 500 items that I wanted (he kept asking me if there was anything else that I would like and I just kept coming up with things that I wanted from Chanel!).  That's when he told me about the price match on the Lord and Taylor sale that ended that night.  I was pissed because I had scheduled my 10 point day for Saturday so I told him that and he called and had my point day switched.  Made me very happy.  So I got my 10 point day and my 10% off!  But if that wasn't enough, he gave me the 10% on the Chanel items (Chanel wasn't included in Lord and Taylor's sale)!  He was about to ring me up and he asked me if there was anything else I wanted to buy and I was like "Well, i have to call back because I wanted some Dior and MAC" and he was so sweet and said that he'd grab them for me.  So I gave him a list of what I wanted (it was A LOT!) and let him go on his merry hunt for my items.  About a half hour later, he called me and said that he got most of my stuff (the only thing that they didn't have in store was the MAC lip pencil in Bespoken For and the holiday Dior eye shadow palette in Golden Shock). I told him that I figured that the Dior eye shadow would be MIA because they took it down off the website but he persisted and he found a store that still had both items and he took my information and said that they would send it to me via UPS.  He took care of me at every turn even though I'm just some lady with too much time on my hands who was just too lazy to go to the store and shop around like most people.  He put mu whole Christmas gift list together which is awesome enough but then he called me today at lunch and he wanted to know if I wanted him to gift wrap anything!  How great is that???  So when I go pick up my stuff at the store tomorrow, not only do I not have to stand there and wait to pay at 500 individual make up and fragrance counters, I have my things already have my things gift wrapped and he said he threw in a million samples.  He said every sample they had at the Jo Malone and Chanel counter.  I really need to stop shopping but when someone goes out of their way to help you like that, it just makes me want to shop more, LOL!  And the biggest shock was about an hour after I talked to him, I got my MAC and Dior order from UPS.  I wasn't charged extra for the shipping.  I placed my order at 8pm on Wednesday and received my order less than 2 days later!  Awesome!

(apparently I can not spell today..) This year has been very purchase heavy for me, some of the things were great, others not so much. So since the year is almost over lets do a round up on "What was your THE best beauty(skincare, clothing, etc.) find/discovery of the year?".   IF you had BIG misses and no so great finds - go ahead and share them too!    My great discoveries were: - Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere - after being on a hunt for a good foundation, and then while in Nordies stumbling on Chanel counter and lovely associate helping me out with a perfect shade match and coverage - I fell in love with this one!!! - Skincare wise I think Algenist was my discovery - they have such a great skin care line, I love their firming cream and oil!! - After such a craze about Bite beauty , and finally my local stores having the items on display, I caved and decided to see what they were about  - now I am a proud owner of about 10 of their lip products - Then I just have to mention finding the GLAMGLOW masks at my fave TJMAxx - that was an amazing deal!!!

So, I have lots and lots of deluxe samples and foils. Good ones, too (La Mer, Guerlain, Dior...), but my stash is becoming an unmanageable space-hog. I want them out of my house and into the hands of BTers who will use them. I also want to show all of you my gratitude for maintaining such a positive community!   So, I've decided to play BT-Claus, and offer them to all of you-- no strings attached. Not a TSB, not a trade, not even a pay it forward situation (unless you were so inclined, of course). I am giving them away, with postage to either the US or Canada paid by me (sorry, BTers living in the rest of the world).   Here's the deal: I'm going to assemble ten to fifteen boxes full of samples, and from this thread, I'm going to choose random* people to PM for an address. I'll be choosing anytime between now and Sunday (21 December 2014). You should expect to hear from me no later than Sunday evening (say, 7pm EST).  Note: you must be over 18 (sorry, younguns!). I'll ship boxes on Monday, and viola!-- you could be the proud recipient of an unexpected holiday gift!   To avoid confusion, please only post if you are interested in receiving a box, or specify your disinterest within your post. The discussion topic is: what is the best beauty/skincare tip you have been taught, or what beauty/skincare tip would you tell everyone about, if you could?   *As these are my personal items and my own money for postage, I hope it is okay with all of you that I choose how I will decide who receives a box, whether it be by random generator or just by my own whim.

Always at like 1 AM I get inspiration to do really cool makeup and I wonder if I'm the only one?? Like does anybody else do this too? We should totally get a thread of this going.   I used an old liquid eyeliner for this so the "stitches" on my neck like rubbed off and it's not half as good as some other things I've done but I still thought it was kinda cool idk??

So I've seen a couple of threads for specific Spring 2015 launches (MUFE 50 Shades, Nars, etc). I thought it would be cool to post any and all new collection releases/launches in the same thread. I was searching around trying to find the newest stuff and scout out my next purchases. Here's what I've found so far:   Dior Spring 2015 - Kingdom of Colors (Images from A Bit Of Blusher)     Guerlain Spring 2015 (Images from Rouge Deluxe) Isn't this collection so cute?!?!

So I know a lot of people just want to vent out their shopping experiences at makeup stores and such. Sometimes you have a funny or an infuriating tale to tell, but you hesitate to post because it might be on a thread of "Oh hey, skincare."    So let's start fresh and post our crazy experiences here, thanks to heartsmyface for giving me the idea!    I'll start with what happened today at Ulta.   I got a 20 percent discount coupon, this was my second time coming back because I was still on the fence on what to buy. Unfortunately what I really wanted wasn't there (Benfit's set of tints and balms).  I decided to go for bareminerals kit which has a lot of stuff in there AND for the first time ever, eyelashes.   I was at the line and I told the lady that was checking me out if I could go switch the box I had because I was a bit unsure about the color.. she told me "Oh yeah, this definitely looks like the wrong color." Keep in mind I had medium which is my skin tone and well, bareminerals is a bit confusing with their stuff, especially for a newbie to the brand. I asked her what she thought I should get and she suggested a tannish one.. Um. I'm not the fairest in the land, but I know my skin tone isn't cocoa, I don't know if she misunderstood me or what but I was definitely like "Oh... yeah, nevermind, I'll just take this one."    So she charged me, I handed her a 100 dollar bill, she gave me the receipt and went to go answer the phone, I don't know if they should do that but I do find it a bit rude. She came back and asked me "Oh, was there anything else you needed?" And I said "Yeah, my money back."  And believe it or not, she had forgotten. In that one minute she was away, she forgot that she in fact did not give me my 61 dollars and four cents back. LOL. She did apologize, but .. due to this, I don't think I want to go back there again. Also, Ulta staff is never friendly, one time a girl worker was being obnoxious because of my Jeffrey Campbell boots, and now when she sees me it's like she's seeing Satan.

I've just got into makeup recently and have been hearing about subscription boxes. I really wanted Wantable makeup boxes, but they don't ship to canada :/. Ipsy box was also interesting being only $10 per month, but the problem is if I do yearly subscription, it's extra $54 per year. Is it worth it? Also, is there any other Canadian makeup subscription boxes that is a good deal?

EDIT: of 2014.....oops...   If you could summarize your entire beauty year in just five products what would they be?   Mine are: 1. Kevyn Aucoin 'The Sensual Skin Fluid' - My HG foundation. It's super light, medium coverage, long wearing (I mean 10+ hours on my combo skin), and has a satin super skin like finish. The only downside is it's $97/oz. 2. Illamasqua Cream Blushers (Dixie/Zygomatic/Rude) - They are pigmented, dewy, and blend better than any other cream blush I've tried.  3. Marc Jacobs No.14 'The Conceal' Brush - I love it and refuse to use any other concealer brush. It just blends concealer out soooooo smoothly and evenly.  4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - It is perfection - enough said.  5. Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment - After I got over the hump of redness, peeling, and inflammation, my skin is so much smoother and I get far fewer breakouts. It also made my skin more tolerant to higher potency formulas - I can use twice as much of my SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic Serum.    http://www.sephora.com/the-conceal-full-cover-corr ecting-brush-14-P384921?skuId=1581776 http://www.sephora.com/ambient-lighting-palette-P3 82309?skuId=1606086

I had a beauty regimen that cost upwards of $250-300 a month.  While I could stomach it -- I'd rather not, so I went on the prowl for some less expensive alternatives.  This is what I've changed up so far to see how to get the same results on the cheap.  More to come as I explore other aspects of my regimen.  -- Julalle   Start with the basics:    Nightly Exfoliation:  BareMinerals Radiance Pads $36 for 60 pads (which Sephora doesn't sell anymore).  They worked great and were the cornerstone to my entire nightly routine because they exfoliated and boosted the other treatments.     Alternate: First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads $30 for 60 pads. They are almost as effective as the Bareminerals version, alcohol-free and $6 cheaper.  To save more money-- I only use them at nighttime.   https://www.sephora.com/facial-radiance-pads-P2783 17?skuId=1309608   Cleanser:  Any other cleanser.  Honestly, any.     Alternate:    Josie Maran Argan Oil Face Cleanser 2oz. bottle.  The 2oz is easy to manage, and you don't waste any of the product (unlike her 6oz bottle), and if you use just enough -- that 2 oz bottle that costs about $12 and will last 2 months!  It's the only cleanser that has helped even out my skin moisture and it keeps things simple and clean.    http://www.sephora.com/argan-cleansing-oil-P283501 ?skuId=1550904   Luxury Eye Treatments:  Perricone MD Acyl-Glutathione Eye Lid Serum costs $115 per 1/2 oz bottle.  I have puffy eyes and I am starting to age.  This product works! While one bottle can last 3 months -- it's still $115.     Alternate:  Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel $42 for 1 oz.  This does a decent job of managing overall puffiness overnight (and I definitely see a difference when I don't use it).  I would not call it a complete replacement for Perricone, so I am still on the look out, but it works well enough to finish the bottle.  http://www.sephora.com/ultimate-lift-eye-gel-tm-P3 87216?skuId=1630409   Coming up next post -- Foundation --  Guerlain Terracotta Skin Healthy Glow Foundation ($53) versus Perfekt Primer+ ($48) versus Alternate?    Lipstick  Yves Saint Laurent   ROUGE PUR COUTURE  Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain ($35) versus  Too Faced   Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ($21)

With 2014 drawing to a close, what resolutions (beauty related or not) have you set for 2015? For beauty related, I want to wear sunscreen on my hands everyday, drink more water, and work my retinol up to a higher concentration (hopefully prescription strength). As far as the other aspects of my life, I think that tackling my terrible tendency towards procrastination will be enough of a feat.

Confession: I've had a lousy week! My boyfriend has surprised me with a few random acts of kindness to cheer me up. Tomorrow I'm getting together with my mom and I plan to treat her to lunch! I may try and squeeze something in for a stranger...buy them a cup of coffee or something.

I have to vent.  I know there's been a lot of push back against heavily filled in, faded brows and contouring lately.  While I personally don't wear that much makeup, I think it's so hypocritical for people who wear makeup at all to judge other fellow makeup users for how they choose to do their makeup.  There's no right or wrong.  It's not math or science.  It's an art and a preference.  I bet if someone came up to these "natural makeup" people and told them they shouldn't wear any makeup at all they'd tell that person to mind their own business and that they can do whatever they want with their face.  Though I don't personally like all the makeup styles out there, I find it more repulsive when someone tells another person they shouldn't be wearing their makeup a certain way.  Who the hell cares if someone wants to have ultra filled in brows or contour with a very red toned bronzer? Maybe they like that look.  Not everyone is going for natural.  Some people like goth makeup.  Some people like glam makeup.  Some people like green blush and orange lips.  Who the *** cares. It's presumptuous of people to think that everyone wants makeup to be natural and therefore it's their duty to correct someone who  they think "doesn't know" that they are doing it "wrong."

...to actually use the products that I buy.    It's so unreasonable!   Doesn't he realise if I use it it's NOT GOING TO BE AS PRETTY ANYMORE??   Is it wrong that I just want to look at the beautiful palettes and just never touch them?   Obviously what I need is a duplicate of every palette I buy. One to use, and one to just look at. That seems logical, right?   Does anyone else have this problem? You hate using your stuff because then it's no longer in mint condition? (Thank god I never got into collecting action figures!)

So I just received the semi-sweet chocolate palette and really like it. However as I'm staring at the first one vs the second I'm finally ready to admit I have a problem. Besides these palettes, I also have the A few of my Favorite Things palette, the boudoir palette, natural eye, and romantic eye palettes!!!! I rarely if ever touch those and cocoa chili looks a whole lot like cocoa puff in one of those palettes.  I am ready to admit I have a problem and will not buy anymore eye shadow!!!! I have at least 10 other palettes from other brands and only have 2 eyes 😓  Anyone else finally realizing they have a serious problem?

So, I just saw this article on LifeHack of why highly successful people wear the same thing everyday. Not the same clothes everyday, but the same style of outfit. Like Steve Jobs and his turtle necks.    I am the most indecisive person ever, and if anyone needs a uniform it's probably me. I have only recently started to simplify my closet, but the only thing my clothes have in common so far is the color scheme (a lot of blues or grey and black) and skinny jeans.   So I thought it would be a fun topic to see what your go-to style is.  What are some of your favorite items to wear day to day?

I'm sure I cant be the only one. I have SO many samples, that there are just some things I literally NEVER need to buy (except sometimes I do, because you know, there are favourites!).   Some of those things are: - Mascaras - Eye creams - Face moisturizers - Black Eyeliner - Eye primer   What about you?

Okay, I know it's probably silly, but my goal before the end of the year was to reach 10,000 points with my card and I did it! I have no idea what I will do with them but it's really nice to have them. I love the look on the Sephora sales associates faces when they see the total.

I was asked to aprticipate in an online survery yesterday about Sephora.  It had an interesting question, something along the lines of "For 750 BI points, would you travel to and attend an event with brand reps, makeup artists, tutorials, etc.?"  I think the choices were Chicago, Vegas, LA, San Fran, and somewhere in TX.  So... would you??

Hey everyone, I love a good favorites video! I watch them every month looking forward to seeing what folks love. What are some of your favorites from November? Here are mine:    1. Burberry Oxblood lip mist - I love the color of this, but the actual formula is amazing! It goes on so smoothly and gives wonderful coverage in one swipe. It's a must have for me now!  2. Charlotte Tilbury Blusher in Sex on Fire - this was a gift and I love it. It has a duo circle in it, so you get a varying color when you swipe both together. It brightens up my face and is so soft! I love it!  3. KGD Spa Wate r- A lovely BT'er told me about this when my face started freaking out due to an oil cleanser I was using to remove makeup. I'm a convert! I love this stuff. It gently removes makeup and doesn't irritate my skin at all!  4.  Shisheido Cotton-  Decided to try it off a recommendation and it's SO MUCH BETTER than regular cotton rounds. They are so soft and don't break up in my hand! They are amazing.
