I truly admire this community’s ability to stay on top of the hottest beauty news so I wanted to share a little beauty news. I am thrilled to announce a new addition to the Sephora family: Skin Laundry!
You may have heard of Skin Laundry’s clinics which offer a laser and light facial which zaps the dirt, oil and bacteria from your skin, but did you know they also offer an amazing line of products?! We were very impressed with the brand so it was a no-brainer for Sephora to start offering Skin Laundry's products, which are known to deliver a balance of gentleness and effectiveness for skin that's clean, clear and healthy. From gentle cleaners that erase your most stubborn mascara to an acne-reducing pillow case, Skin Laundry is definitely worth a try!
The brand will launch in the US AND Canada (YAY!) in the next couple of weeks so keep an eye out for their big debut!
If you have any experience with the brand or their products comment below! We hope you're as excited as we are

I thought that it would be fun to start a thread where we can share funny, cute, heartwarming or slightly embarrassing beauty stories. I have two to kick off the thread. The first one, Is a cute story. My oldest girls are 4 & 6, yesterday it was pretty cold here, so they decided to play "beach". As I was cleaning from dinner and taking care of my one year old I could hear tidbits of their role play. What caught my attention is my oldest said, "After the beach, do you want to go to the makeup store?" My four year old quickly responded with, "Sephora! Let's go to Sephora after the beach so we can get new makeup!" I thought that it was cute and I didn't think that I took them to Sephora that much (I try to go by myself so I can actually look instead of having to tell them to stop swatching). My second story is funny, but if you ask my husband he wouldn't agree. He was giving them a bath tonight and told them that they could use a bath bomb from Lush. Normally, I do that bath bombs, but I had to fill out some papers for their school, so he decided to. When I was finished with the paperwork, I went into the bathroom. When I walked in the tub was filled to the brim with bubbles and there were bubbles on the tile wall and some overflowing onto the floor. I asked my husband if they decided on a bubble wand instead because it looks like they went overboard. His response, "No, that was a bath bomb. You know the cone shaped one." It was a bubble bar he threw in the tub and instead of breaking a piece off he threw the entire bar into the tub, not realizing that bubble bars don't just come on sticks. He told me that he won't be doing any more baths with any type of bubble bars or bath bombs because there are too many products to try to keep straight. Lol!
The #NoMakeupLook is still going strong and is the perfect look to start off the new year. The flawless, minimal, fresh-faced look popularized by some of the hottest celebrities is easy to achieve and lets your natural beauty shine through. To achieve the look:
Start with a good moisturizer to make your skin the perfect canvas.
Apply a lightweight, tinted complexion product like bareMinerals COMPLEXION RESCUE™ to even out your skintone. This sheer cream gives you natural-looking, radiant coverage and an extra boost of moisture as well.
Use a multitasking product like Bite Beauty Multistick to cheeks and lips. This stick goes on like a cream, but wears like a weightless powder to add a natural-looking flush right where you need it.
Apply a highlighter like rms beauty Living Luminizer to the high points of the face, the inner corners of eyes, and under the browbone to give your look a luminous, youthful glow.
Finish by applying eye products, but go easy. The no-makeup look is all about natural eyes that don’t distract from your flawless, radiant skin.
Any barely-there products you just can’t do without? Let us know!
I always try to utilize Sephora's free samples whether it be in store or online to try to get a feel for a product, but for some items that can be otherwise impossible, i.e. mascara, lipstick, gloss, etc. And at times (okay a lot of times) I find myself returning product whether it be the product didn't work out for me or it was an impulse buy that I shouldn't have made. Just wondering if I'm alone in maybe overusing Sephora's very liberal return policy? (Just putting it out there, when I return the impulse buys, they are unused and can go back on the shelf!) I've made Rouge for the second time in a row so it's not like they can necessarily complain about my patronage but I always feel self conscious when I make a return...especially at other stores!
Upgrade your makeup prep with these complexion-enhancing primers from NARS. They provide SPF protection while they revive, prime, and leave you with a flawless finish.

As the first step in your makeup routine, it smooths the look of skin to prep it for application and extends makeup wear. It seamlessly enhances your makeup and is formulated with SPF 50 to invisibly protect with weightless, broad-spectrum sunscreen protection.
Illuminate your complexion with Radiance Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Sunscreen . It’s infused with encapsulated sunscreen beads that release broad-spectrum protection when they come in contact with your skin. It’ll take your dull, fatigued skin and give it an all-over glow.
How do you incorporate SPF into your beauty routine? Show & Tell!
This morning, I was thinking about my hopes to make it to Ireland this year for a vacation and decided to start this thread for a few reasons. 1) I'm hoping that putting this into words will aid me on my no/low-buy journey so that I can successfully start saving for my trip (and not ordering online from Sephora so much), 2) I always ask my friends what the highlight and the lowlight of their vacations were, to glean tips and information for my upcoming travels, wherever it may be. So tell me, what was one highlight and one lowlight of your vacation trip? This is a picture of the coast of Caithness, Scotland, which is my absolute favorite country. Highlight of my trip in 2009: The coast, the mountains and the weather. Altogether made for a very spiritual experience. Lowlight: The weather. Cool and damp makes for a cold girl.
What are your thoughts on beauty Youtubers? I wasn't really big on watching them till I stumbled upon a Jaclyn Hill video early this past year and now I'm hooked! Through recommended videos I came across Jamie Paige and her channel has got to be my favorite! I've learned a lot of techniques from her and her videos are so informative and aesthetically pleasing. Another favorite of mine is Kathleen Lights! Who are your favorite(s)? What do you like/not like about beauty youtubers??
Ok BT members. I know you all have a lot of goodies in your hoard, er collection! Let's talk about a way to use our goodies! It can be makeup, clothes, new luxury items, anything! Fine China that we could have a nice cup a tea and a snack on , a new bag with tags on it, waiting for a special occasion, an LE palette we are scared to swatch. But we could start by posting what we want to use, a pic of it , if it did work for us and what we will do with it! I need inspiration, because I admit I hoard and collect . For example. 1. I have LE powder highlighter , I am hoarding this like it will pay my mortgage, lol. 2. I will post a pic of item to commit to trying it . 3. I will use my item and report back, if it was good it stays and gets into the rotation , if it unperformed I can purge it or find a better place for it.
so i was just talking to my coworker about how, whether or not i like it, i always feel stronger--like i can tackle the world better--if i'm feeling good about myself physically. this led to us talking about our "beauty goals" of the new year, how we want to refresh ourselves, what image we want to project onto the world, etc. so, with that in mind, what are your goals this year ? disclaimer, though i doubt it's necessary because we're all lovely: one person's goal may be the polar opposite of another person's goal and that is ok ! it's not to diminish what other's want to achieve. i think it's key to keep this in mind, particularly in the age of instagram beauty one-upping, if that makes sense ? more minimal makeup. not necessarily less product on my face, but just a more toned down, chic, light hand and vibe. keep hair as healthy as possible, but let it go wild. i will be compensating the more light handed makeup with unashamedly ginormous unkempt hair ! spend less money on makeup, but i'm ok with spending (what i can) on skincare. i'm working on decluttering my collection, just a bit, and i'm happy to spend time really using and loving the things i have. get new glasses that i love, wear more regularly to give my poor eyeballs a break. but still go full-on out of this world avant garde glam if i want to. my point being: no reason to be self conscious in 2017 ! i'll add more below if i think of any. how about you guys ? super eager to hear what everyone's goals and thoughts are........
Whenever I leave a glowing review and/or talk highly about a product, it ends up not working for me soon after! I feel like I'm cursed hahaha. For starters, I left a review for Versace Eros - a perfume that had smelled wonderful for a month leading up to the dreaded review - and then not even a couple days after, the fragrance started giving me huge headaches. This has also happened to numerous foundations I've reviewed/talked about as well! Foundations that left my skin looking flawless and with full coverage ended up looking cake-y and dry...ugh! It's probably all just a placebo effect but I find it a bit too coincidental that this happens after I open my mouth - I'll just have to keep my beauty secrets to myself!
I'm always self conscious of my eyes being different sizes, It really shows in photos the most. I think it's cause one side of my brow is more saggy than the other. Do any if you have experience with Botox, and if so do you think it could help? Any tips appreciated. #SickOfLookingLikeQuasimodo
2016 let me realize how many lipsticks I have, how many point perks of lippies I have and I realize... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. This is a tough challenge, but who wants to go on a lipstick no buy? I'll probably open up a thread for other products as well. Let's encourage each other to spend practically and this is a small step in one direction. Maybe instead of that lipstick, you save that money and keep saving and then go on a seaside cottage retreat? (pulling strings here!) 1. Items in this category include lipsticks, glosses and lip liners. I was going to consider lip balms, but I will categorize that as skin care. Scrubs are ok. Tinted lip balms are fine and are considered to be the BB/CC/DD/EE/FF/ZZ creams of lip products. 2. You are limited to ONE PURCHASE. This is in place for that special LE. 3. You can drop out once you have all the lipsticks for the year gone. Well you probably need to grab one lipstick right? (and hopefully you stick with that one for the rest of the year) 4. TSBs do not count into the purchase category if you didn't buy anything for that lipstick you are trading for. 5. Exchanges because the beauty product caused an allergic reaction and having to purchase a new item doesn't count. Safety first! 6. Using Ulta Points, Nordstrom Notes, etc. is ok as long as the amount matches the lipstick. I would prefer there be no use of those as the Ulta Points can be used on Skincare and Nordstrom Notes as clothes. YOU CANNOT spend just for the sake of using this rule. 7. Sephora BI Point Perks are exempt, again with the rule above, YOU CANNOT SPEND JUST FOR THE SAKE OF USING THIS RULE. 8. Samples that are from GWPs, foil samples are fine. 9. I really hope this won't come up, but you shouldn't try to ask a lipstick as a gift! 10. Subscription boxes that contain lip products do not count into spend as I believe the items are at random. 11. Sephora Favorites sets cannot have a majority lipstick pack. Must be 1% Ready set.
E ver use the last bit of your favorite limited edition product you purchased from Sephora? I have hit pan on my Hourglass Ambient Blush Pallet that was made 2 years ago. IT WAS MY FAV. And yes I know you can buy the blushes single now, but I loved having it all in one. What is yours? What do you wish you could bring back for one day and STOCK up ON?!
Happy New Year All! I debated starting this thread again but since I - inexplicably - made Rouge again, I figured why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Welcome to the Great Rouge Experiment - Part 2. My rouge status is good until December 31, 2017. Last year we documented every "Rouge-only" perk to determine whether being Rouge was "worth it" And I figured we can do it again this year to see if the program is getting better (or worse). Just like last year, every Rouge-only perk or event that I hear about will go on this thread and if you hear anything please please please add it to this year-long running list. And then on December 31, 2017 we can really assess whether it is worth the extra $600+ to be Rouge and if the Rouge program in general is improving. Mods, last year this thread was moved to the Rouge-only area which I don't think was helpful to non-Rouge BIs who are wondering about the program. I'd really like to keep the thread here if you don't mind. Thanks! Welcome back to the deal sharing fun! Deals shared here may also be posted to my blog (same name as the thread) unless you write for BT only. If I share your deal, I will always thank you here. I will heart every deal I see (without an outside or cheat link) to acknowledge it. Beautytalk (the forum) does not allow outside links. A heart with no comment means I already have the deal or am deciding not to list it. Please list the retailer (without the link or cheat link; dot com) if it is not mentioned in the picture. Mods come in more often when they see any type of link. Thanks for sharing (original deals and repeats are welcome)! Please also share any deal haul you want, especially mystery gifts. Discussion is encouraged. A lot of questions come with certain deals or retailers. When I see questions I can answer, I will respond (unless the poster consistently ignores me or someone else already answered the complete question). I read all the main posts (so no need to tag me). If you're replying to a post that is not near the top of the thread and want me or a specific person to see it, please tag us. lord i've been so busy this month i almost forgot to do my favorite post ! don't forget there is a YEARLY favorites thread here: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions /2016-YEARLY-FAVORITES/m-p/2627571#M225440 URBAN DECAY vice lipstick, "safeword" . i've been going for very quick and easy looks this month. this is a fantastic nude; not too light, gives just enough contrast, but also effortless. i'd say it's a slightly cooler version of MAC velvet teddy. NARS blush, sin . when i was wearing a bit more than a no makeup makeup look this month, this is the blush i grabbed. it's my favorite winter blush, gives a hint of that snow bunny flushed look, and goes so dang well with a berry lip, too. LAURA MERCIER flawless skin infusion de rose nourishing oil. i had such a hard time with this one at first. i had a deluxe sample, and found that my skin LOVED IT. i found it to be 'thinner' than most oils, absorbed quickly (both of which help for a daytime, under makeup oil), and seemed to play well with my skin when it was hormonal as well. but i hated the price--the main oils are very cheap (sunflower, safflower and the rather generic 'vegetable' oil), so why was it so expensive ?! i stopped using my deluxe sample out of protest--but the protest didn't last long. i asked for this for christmas, my dad got it for me (!!!! for some lovely reason that cracked me up) and i'm so happy with it. i think the secret here is how refined these oils are, it's a quality product, i assure you ! DEVACURL b'leave-in. i'm not quite sure what it is but i love it. is it a leave in conditioner with a gel-like consistency ? a curl definer or a gel ? it's kind of all of these things. this leave my curls defined and so so shiny. sometimes i use it with a gel to get extra hold and to keep that definition in place, but sometimes i just use this. on soaking wet hair. i feel like this one is a bit of an unsung hero of the devacurl range, and i highly recommend curly girls check it out ! SERGE LUTENS ambre sultan . this is my favorite perfume of all time, and has been so for years. someone gave me a bottle recently and said "here, i know this is your favorite but you never wear it because you're scared of running out. now you have an extra". bless. this is just The Ultimate in my book. i just feel like me when i wear it.

I waited in a 90k online queue on toofaced.com's website for 2 hours at 2am to get the peach palette and special makeup bag on 12/14. It was suppose to be here by Christmas, but hasn't even shipped yet! No response from FB messenger or email and the phone number to customer service won't connect or is always busy. Anyone else?! I'm so frustrated! 😡

Well, I can't promise it'll change your life, but it is nice to know the 'trend' if the amounts are on the up-swing or down-swing. **EBATES.CA PERCENTAGES ONLY** If you are not using ebates, don't be shy about asking me for a referral link. I would surely appreciate the referral bonus! Anyone that uses me as a referral can decide an additional store they would like me to add to the tracking. Spoiler (Highlight to read)

Hello! Its about that time of year, when people start to think about their New Years Resolutions. So, for you, what are your resolutions beauty and non-beauty related?
