oh my goodness, thank our lucky clover, 2016 is just about over. let's focus on the positive and think about our YEARLY favorites ! i've structured it a bit to try to make it less overwhelming, but there are no strict rules--if you want to list more or less than 5, that's fine of course. if you want to just list your faves and not explain why, absolutely cool with that too. if you want to write a novel about each product, fantastic. do whatever you want, really, and perhaps most importantly: it can be new products launched this year, old products you discovered this year, tried and true products that maintained their HG status this year, whatever ! this is just supposed to be fun ! (ahem: after posting mine below, i can not emphasize enough that no one should feel obligated to explain why you've loved something. apparently there is a 20,000 character limit and i exceeded it trying to post my thoughts. please feel free to pick and choose what you want to go into details about ) the template is below, i've kept it blank for easy copying / pasting. I was just wondering what's going on with Formula X, almost all of their products are on sale. Is Sephora discontinuing their partnership or are they making way for all new products and nail polish colours? New packaging? I'm super curious so it's going to bug me till I find out

I'm an avid lover of video games as well as being an avid lover of make up! I'm sure there are more of us out there! What are you currently playing? Currently I'm pretty obsessed with Overwatch. I played a lot of League of Legends before that, and World of Warcraft before that. I got sucked into playing ranked mode with friends and now...well For other not multi-player games, I have a pretty bad backlog...I really really want to play the new Pokemon game (Pokemon Sun for that Vulpix please) since I've played every version before the newest one. Also need to play Final Fantasy XV. It just came out and it having great reviews which surprised me since I was pretty not into XII or XIII. I hope it is as good as X and the previous ones (X being my favorite!). I'm also waiting excitedly until April/May 2017 for Persona 5. It is one of my favorite series and I even got my boyfriend hooked on the series! I probably should finish the DLC for Dragon Age Inquisition too, but it's been so long and I had to replace my video card since it couldn't even run it that I forgot what happened lol
HI ! only two three days left in the month so i figured....it's november faves time, yay. i have lots of stuff i want to mention this month ! NARS x SARAH MOON moon matte lipstick, indecent proposal . this is my new favorite dark-nude. in a similar family to something like BITE thistle, but this one is just more flattering on me; i think perhaps because it leans more cool brown rather than blue-grey this lip combo: NARS velvet lip liner, patong beach and NARS velvet lip glide, playpen . playpen is described as a 'coral' but i'd describe it more as a warm rose. this combo brightens my face, which i was in need of after a bit of a difficult month. sometimes i include NYX soft matte lip cream in 'zurich' (as a middle layer between the liner and glide) which brightens it up a bit more. last all day, too ! MURAD hydro-dynamic quenching essence serum . i've been screaming my praises all over the boards this month for this stuff. what can i say, it's brilliant. i know that 'essence' is in the title (not serum, actually) but this is a serum--designed to help your skin retain moisture. it helped turn my chronically (plane exhausted) dehydrated skin around after about a month of trying everything . i use it morning and night, before moisturizer (and before oil as well, at night). leaves skin bouncy, and find that it works very well with makeup as well. works particularly brilliantly with CLARINS blue orchid oil, too....i'd be remiss to not mention that. GIVENCHY ombre couture cream eyeshadow, beige mousseline . i wore this non stop for 2 weeks this month, when i wore no other eye makeup. i originally got this thinking it was a matte warm beige. it's not matte. it has bits of glitter mixed into an otherwise matte cream. this would piss a lot of people off. it may have even pissed me off. but it's perfect. it gave me a bit of glittery magic when i needed it. bless. this hair combo: BRIOGEO be gentle be kind green tea clarifying shampoo, and BRIOGEO don't despair, repair conditioning mask . i only wash my hair once a week (on average) and usually cowash (devacurl or aveda) which works really well for me, but i definitely needed an occasional clarifying shampoo, and this stuff is perfect. it's sulfate and silicone free, very gentle but effective, and leaves my hair way soft. i also have been using the repairing conditioning mask, and love it because it is a repairing mask that does not leave my hair feeling coarse or heavy (which 'repairing' protein and b-vitamin rich conditioners usually do). Spoiler (Highlight to read) can't wait to see what people have been loving this month (p.s. i will be starting a YEARLY FAVES thread in a week or so, which should be fun)
Hey guys! I would really and truly appreciate your help! Being a sephora fan, i am currently writing about online brand communities and am investigating Beauty Talk for my final year thesis! I have two lobe piercings in both ears (for a total of 4). I want to get my cartilage (called a helix piercing) pierced and I see a lot of people only do one ear. Is it not stylish if you do it one in both ears? Would it look weird if both ears had the same number and positioning of piercings? Should I just get one side? I like symmetry but I also don't want my ears/face to look stupid.

**This is by invite only; all participants are already identified** Hey ladies!!!! It's that time of year again! Now that we've all used our Friends and Family codes and Rouge discounts, let's pass along some of our unused stuff. Last years Invite Only TSB ( http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions /By-Invite-Fall-Winter-TSB/m-p/2182116/highlight/t ... ) went so well I decided it was a good idea to do it all over again! Like the Queens above, I have the rep around BT lately of having RBF/BRF! I'm turning my perceived indifference and attitude into kindness. One new caveat to this TSB: I am not keeping ANYTHING at the end of this; all the proceeds after the last trade go directly to charity. Many of you know I work with Believe in Tomorrow, a charity servicing families at Johns Hopkins whose children are receiving treatment. The Invite Only TSB last year did SO WELL that they are still stacked with stuff! This year the left over abundance will go to The Katherine Hanley Center, a charity @SuzeAlex works with. Their mission is to provide temporary housing to homeless families in the Fairfax Co, VA area. They receive services that help them formulate a plan to locate permanent house as quickly as possible. The shelter is an integral part to the county's 10 year plan to end homelessness. A couple of weeks ago I posted a question about The Canker Spanker and if anyone had tried it for oral canker sores. A couple of people suggested other remedies, but I ordered it anyway. Wow - if you suffer (if you get cankers, you know) do yourself a favor and order it. Worked SO fast I was thanking the Lord. While cankers give your lips a swollen look... buy a lip plumper instead!
Hello, I have a question that maybe you could help me with. I've been into Korean skincare and cosmetics for YEARS now and all of a sudden the US is finally catching on to how amazing these products are. I have been using a 10-12 step Korean skincare routine for a long time and have recently gotten my friends on board. My question is, are there any selling or promoting opportunities available with such products ...similar to Avon, Mary Kay, etc.? I would LOVE to get my hands on a huge bulk order of Korean skincare goodies and help promote and sell the brands. I feel I'd be very successful because of my love and passion for K-beauty! Thank you for taking the time to read this. Roxanne Mori
Hi fellow beauty insiders Have you gals ever ordered from elf cosmetics online? If so, how long did it take for you to get your order? I recently ordered from their website when they had the 50% off sale and the shipping seems to be taking FOREVER. I was wondering about your shipping experience

just a fun excuse / avenue to discuss products. i want this thread to be as positive as possible, so focusing on pleasant surprises. if, though, you're biting to talk about a (surprising) disappointment, check out this thread here, which is also great fun for constructive discussion: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions /It-Didn-t-Work-For-Me/m-p/2550412 MURAD hydro-dynamic quenching essence serum . ok i know i'm going on and on about this (and will be doing even more so in my monthly favorites, no doubt), but this stuff has blown my mind ! i've tried loads of serums through the years that target dehydration. some work right away but fail to keep working, others clog my pores due to the types and grades of silicones. i was expecting a similar experience with this one, but figured in a bit of desperation that i'd give it a try. now, this one is not entirely silicone free, but i've had no problems with it clogging my pores, and it has worked miracles on my skin. it also contains a bit of glycolic acid (not enough to 'over do it', though, when used in conjunction with my other acids. oils and moisturizers are performing even better; skin is happy and bouncy. ORIGINS ginzing brightening eye cream . i've been shocked, too, by how much i like this one ! as i've said in another thread, i wasn't keen on using a 'brightening' eye cream that brightens through light reflectors rather than other "from within" ingredients, but heck, i love this. it keeps my under eyes hydrated but is not too thick (sometimes a hard combo to find) and i find when my undereyes are properly hydrated then everything about them looks better--brightness (light reflectors or not !), suppleness, everything. DR DENNIS GROSS ultra gentle alpha beta peel . i didn't think this would do much for me because my skin is so used to acids that i didn't think these would do 'enough'. but nope, these are extraordinary. their main acid is lactic acid--which is the extra gentle but way effective AHA in my experience. would recommend for anyone to try regardless of their acid usage ! GIVENCHY photo perfexion fluid foundation . what surprised me about this is not the formula but the color selection. do not let the 'order' or numbers fool you, the 2nd shade in the range is just as pale as the first shade, but significantly yellower. it's a perfect match for me (it's VERY similar to NARS siberia, for those curious), and it is what set of a light bulb off above my head about how to better look for my color matches in other foundation ranges. NARS velvet lip glides . i know these aren't a gloss, but they're the closest thing i've used to a gloss in a long long time. i didn't think i'd be into it because of the gloss-similarities, but i was wrong. i've not enjoyed simply wearing a product THIS much in a long time. as @mochapj said, it's like smearing pudding on your lips....in a good way. beginning to enjoy such sensory pleasures after The Year Of The Ultra Matte. i'll add more below as i think of any / experience more surprises ! how about you ??
Just a place to share our makeup dreams... could be anything from meeting someone in the industry to a stylish vanity or even creating products... Let your imagination run wild! Hey y'all! I felt like starting a conversation about animal testing for cosmetics. I used to be a lot more active in the community here, but recently I got pretty busy in my personal life and in my career. But I wanted to come back to talk about something that no one here ever *really* talks about: Animal testing for cosmetics. The thing is, plenty of people talk about which products or brands are cruelty-free, but no one ever really addresses what actually goes on in the labs here, and why some people know there are cruelty-free options but still choose the animal-tested version because it's their HG. I totally understand finding the perfect product and not wanting to go on the hunt again, for the record. Would anyone like to join me in a dialogue about animal testing? Not just about what goes on, or what animals are tested on, or what companies do it, but how you *personally* feel about it? Do you think about it often? Does it ever cross your mind? I love my pets, and I would never want anything bad or even remotely unpleasant to happen to them, so when I think about what happens in cosmetics testing labs, well, at first I didn't know what went on. Once I found out, it disgusted me. I mean, honestly, not only do they rub chemicals into their eyes or skin, they actually administer known lethal doses, and they do really creepy-evil tests on pregnant mice and bunnies and then kill them and study the unborn babies. It's really disgusting what goes on. Anyway, anyone want to talk about this? Are you transitioning to cruelty-free only products? Do you think animal testing for cosmetics is wrong? Do you think it's wrong for an animal to suffer for us to have pretty eyelashes? Let's talk about it! Edited for typos.

Does anyone else get irritated when they don't receive a single sample that they ask for? Especially when some of those sample are still available 3 days later... and a couple of the ones i did get weren't even listed as an option and nor should they ever be again.... more useless samples; how many Marc Jacob Daisy samples can I give away!!! im sure all my friends have them by now. I know they're free, but this has been happening a lot. I truly believe they don't even look, they just grab whatever and throw it in the box. Sadly I really wanted to try a couple things they were and still are offered and in the past some of my samples become staples, so their loss. Of course I'm also irritated to see one of my items in this purchase is listed $9 less than when i bought it 3 days ago, and that's pre discount! so a bit grumpy!!!
