Hi everyone!!! This is a follow up post to my male celebrity crushes post from a few weeks ago! If you could marry any male celebrity, who would it be? I would marry Henry Cavill. That man is fineeeeeee. But he's 12 years older than me I have him as my phone background and my computer screen saver 3, 2, 1, GO!!!! P.S. I really should be studying for my finals but, I'm too stressed, tired, and don't want to anymore. :/
We swatched Urban Decay's new Naked3(!!) palette to see how the colors looked on different skintones. What do you think?
Do you have a swatch of this palette? Post a pic in the thread below!

Thought I'd start a non-makeup thread on those times inside a Sephora store when we've unknowingly been placed on the spot -- and possibly blushing every shade of pink one could imagine. -During a recent trip, the employee who rang me up practically yelled, "You have XXXX points!!! Would you like to redeem anything from our display?" Needless to say, everyone standing around the register turned to look at me, and I could see the wheels turning in their heads as to how much I've spent. Clearly they've missed the memo that 4X points was a few months prior and that I'm a points hoarder. -One pushy (borderline getting on my nerves) MUA asked which UD or YSL eyeshadow I had on, since the color was extremely vibrant and glittery on my eyes. It was neither but, in fact, a L'oreal Infallible. The plus side was that I was able to shop in peace after telling her that Share away, folks!
I know there's a lot of great stories out there of people being nice and giving during the holiday season, even throughout the year. I just thought we could all share them in this thread. Kinda like a good news thread instead of what we see on TV. It can be something you've done, someone being nice to you or something you saw in the news. Whatever works The one I'm sharing is one from a Canadian airline called WestJet. I just saw it this morning. Watch the video and you'll see what I mean
Can't wait to get Vice2 today! Hope UPS shows up on time (that's like half an hour away!!!) Naked 3 on Wednesday...come to think of it...presents everyday this week. Yippee...so excited! (Don't worry...the presents aren't all for me!)
hey ladies, have you heard about this super awesome program by Dior. i think more companies should have this kind of reward system for their loyal customers (hello Chanel and YSL, I'm looking at you). What is the Dior Diva program? Every dollar spent on a Dior Beauty product equals 1 Diva Point. Once you reach the desired point level you send your original receipts and the redemption form in to the address provided on the form. Note: sales tax isn’t included towards points and all points sent in must be within a 12 month period. Currently there are five levels to the program. (When it first started there were only three levels!): ■Adorable Diva (100 points) – you’ll receive deluxe travel sizes of Dior best sellers in a mini Dior shopping bag. ■Fashionista Diva (250 points) – you’ll receive the Little Dictionary of Fashion written by Christian Dior plus three deluxe minis for your handbag. ■Charming Diva (500 points) – you’ll receive a Dior charm bracelet packaged in a Dior couture box plus a deluxe Miss Dior Cherie miniature. ■Divine Divas (1000 points) – you’ll receive a couture inspired black makeup pouch finished with a little shimmer and shine and full sizes of Serum de Rouge in Rosewood Serum, Diorshow Browstyler, Diorshow Extase Mascara and a travel size One Essential. ■Lady Diva (2500 points) – you’ll receive a Dior Brush Set complete with Foundation, Blush, Eyeshadow, Brow and Lip brushes nestled in a black D-charm pouch and packaged in a Dior couture box. Also includes a full sized One Essential and Diorshow Lash Maximizer. ■Diamond Diva (5000 points) – you’ll receive a Dior Couture Accessory complete with deluxe minatures for touch-ups: Diorshow Extase Mascara, 5-Couleur Eyeshadow in Stylish Move and Rouge Dior Lipstick in Rouge Blossom. I can only dream of reaching Diamond Diva. lol. Cza
A while back I posted a thread about products or techniques that have changed your makeup, skincare or hair care. http://community.sephora.com/t5/Off-Topic/Products -and-or-Techniques-that-Changed-Your-Makeup-Skinca ... On weekends I like to try new things, either products or techniques. Today in particular I had numerous epic fails. From one of my shadows shattering in the case (new, too, ugh) to a new BB cream providing zero coverage and actually turning my face red, to the second time this week cascading glitter all over my face from my eye shadow!! LOL I had to use makeup remover to take some stuff off it was so bad. Just wondering if anyone else experiences the same. I do like to change things up, but it doesn't always mean success.
Yayyy! I just got it! I set my alarm for 2AM CST, which is the equivalent of 12AM PST. It looks like it was probably up for quite some time, but I can't be sure. Anyway, I was able to order it. YAY! *Edit: It appears that it went live at 12PM CST, according to Sephora's facebook page.*
hey there friends! today, I'd like to talk about how you can earn freebies and samples by just going to the mall, Ive recently noticed some huge deals going on (yesterday bath and body works was having a buy three get three free anything sale, for the first time!) and was wondering if y'all wanted to converse about some great sales and deals that you can get during your Christmas shopping right now you can get a free trial size Clinique chubby stick colour balm from your Macy's Clinique counter and also if you spent 10$ or more in the past few wekks at Victoria secret you get a free secret reward card which is now eligible for redeeming and may contain the value between 10$ to 500$ off your purchase (mine is ten) and im going to find something under ten dollars or close too it. Ive found a travel size mist and a cute tote bag from pink for 11.50 with the secret reward card it is only 1.50! double that with a pink nation coupon for a free panty with any pink purchase, and you have over 34$ worth of Victoria secret merchandise for less then two dollars! so tell me what deals you gal's find and what your hoping to score in your Christmas shopping! happy holidays and buckets of love, skye <3
I can't throw them away because that's wasteful and can't recycle because of the perfumes. P.S. This is a light-hearted complaint. I know Sephora can't keep track if I've gotten the flyer or not. Can someone help with ideas on how to use these? I have one: lightly scent tissue paper for great smelling gifts.
Hi girls! So I ordered quite a few of the $10 steals and I thought it would be fun for us to write up mini review on them for each other. Mine arrived last night, so I've only tried two so far. Eyeko Mascara/Eyeliner (still available) I was SO excited to try the Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner.... and it wasn't very pigmented. Maybe it is a little dry and I need to shake it up (??) and try again tomorrow. I'll report back. I haven't tried the mascara yet but the wand is very unique. http://www.sephora.com/skinny-mini-duo-P377021?sku Id=1470962 Caudalie Hand Cream and Lip Conditioner Duo (sold out- individual links below) I had been wanting to try the lip conditioner and I constantly use hand lotion so this was perfect for me. The lip conditioner is very smooth and smells nice. The hand lotion smells sooooo good (sort of citrusy?) and my hands feel lovely! What do you guys think of your $10 sets? http://www.sephora.com/lip-conditioner-P6034?skuId =241653 http://www.sephora.com/h-nail-cream-P152203?skuId= 941609
I'm stumped on ideas for small gifts to buy my kids' teachers. Any teachers out there who could tell me what gifts you love to receive? Any ideas are appreciated! 2 of the teachers are male mid-to-late 20's. 1 female early 20's and 1 female late 30's. edit - My children attend a Lutheran school so Christmas/religious themed gifts would be appropriate.
Hey girls, I was at the mall today and on my way to Sephora and this young representative for a new brand called ' Orogold Cosmetics ' approached me. The store is very sleek and luxurious and looks like it's catered to high end clientele. She was ' testing ' out some products she recommended for me on my wrist. Then tried to con me into purchasing the products which I said no and would consider coming back. I go to their website and they are selling skincare that is for people who have MEGA BUCKS !. I get that it's 24K gold inside your stuff but selling it in a mall where I live ain't going to fly unless your rich. I'd suggest they go to Yorkville where the most ELITE shop in Toronto. What I found disturbing is that she's trying to say my purchases are going to irratate my skin and that the Amore Pacific stuff isn't as good. I don't care if you got 24K S**T in there I ain't buying it !. PLEASE AVOID THIS BRAND, THEY WILL SCAM YOU AND HARASS YOU !!!
Okay...here's the deal. It's time for me to make room for baby stuff for the new addition coming in April (Yippeee!!!!). I decided to take a look at everything I have but don't use anymore--and I have quite a few things. Most of the things I have and dont' use are because I love the products but my sensative skin won't allow me to use them. Here's my list: Bare Minerals eye shadows in: onyx (liner), mystery, denim, sugar plum and masquerade Buxom shimmer shadows in Beagle and Pug Make Up Forever Aqua Creme Shadows in Aqua Black and Shade 54 Sephora Shadows in midnight kiss, caroline's pride and armelle Bare Minerals Foundation in Fairly Medium, mineral veil and warmth make Up Forever HD Liquid Foundation in N130 (I think that's the sade number--it's a medium/light shade) VS Pro Bronzing Face Primer VS Tinted Moisturizer/Primer Delux Samples of: Sephora pin-up pink lip gloss (still in wrapper) Sephora Instant Moisturizer (never used) Kat Von D Powder Foundation in Medium 54 9Still in wrapper) Smashbox under eye primer (opened, but not used) Products that have been used: boscia clear complexion tonic Sephora Waterproof eye makeup remover Murad exfoliating acne treatment gel and spot treatment Boscia BB cream Fragrances--Full size bottle, most of them barely used: Georgio Armani Acqua di Dioia 1oz bottle and 3.4 oz bottle Ibiza Sol Urban Flowers Paris Urban Flowers London Pur Blanca- Blossom Just Play Philosophy You are Divine Philosophy Love Sweet Love U by Ungaro for her (Four 1.7 oz bottles, still in wrapper)--I love this stuff, but it doesn't love me back :-( Skin So soft Satin Glow Glow Gel (seven 6.7 oz bottle, still sealed) Full Size mark mascara in jet black Few misc eyeshadow colors and lotions Some of the products are used! I know that they are clean and all that...I never use my fingers for dipping into my make-up and I'm not including anything that is not hygenic...like used mascara! And...I'm giving all this away to whoever wants it. If you want it, PM me. but there are a few rules...I'm giving this away because I hope someone can use this stuff. I don't want any trouble and I won't be liable for anything--not that I'm not 100% confident that all these products are perfectly good and all that, but I don't want someone trying to sue me cause one of the lotions made them break out...ok. I'll ship to anywhere in the US, adn I'd like to get this to the post office on Thursday when I go mail out my Christmas presents. I will package everything very carefully and put anything liquid in ziploc bags. But I can't be responsible for any damage that might happen during shipping. I really, seriously just want to give this stuff to someone that can use it, without any trouble. And if there is anything about this post that is against the rules or guidelines, please let me know! I read through them and didn't see anything that would be, but I don't want to be banned from the most awesome forum ever!
So every year around this time I start watching Christmas movies. Some I own some I watch on TV. What are some of your favorites Christmas movies? Mine are: Elf A dog named Christmas Santa Claus the movie (this is an old one) Miracle on 34th Street The Santa Clause 1 and 2 On the 2nd day of Christmas (which I can't seem to find anymore) Updated... I forgot too many While You Were Sleeping Die Hard (1, 2, 3... might as well watch all 3 "originals") All I want for Christmas Christmas Vacation Home Alone Christmas with the Kranks The Family Man Toy Story (Favs are 1 and 3) Jingle All The Way. I love Arnold! Looks Who's Talking Now.
So I'd like to maintain a board for the Canadian customers. A place where we can share our events, promos, problems etc. I sometimes see deals and info for Canadians and rather then posting a new convo all the time maybe we can just share on this board. I think it would be easier to communicate with each other if we only had one board to follow. - I recently posted that Nail Polish Canada has free shipping on any orders for a limited time. - I forgot to mention that The Bay will be hosting Beauty Gala's this coming week. You have to buy a ticket but out of the 10$ 2 goes to charity and 8 towards your purchase. Some counters give free stuff when you buy the ticket from them. You get your make-up done too at that counter I'm going and very excited about it! EDITED: Anyone interested in getting Tonymoly products you can contact them via their Canadian Facebook page to place an order. 5$ shipping, free over purchases 50$. I think they have a store in Pacific Mall in Markham ON
Assume, for the sake of this discussion, that sunscreen is provided miraculously, and doesn't need to be a concern. My picks: an OCC lip tar (probably Harlot). A single tube will last you FIVEVER, and that's a nice bright color that'll suit the climate. ( http://www.sephora.com/lip-tar-P376506?skuId=14553 10) Urban Decay 24/7 liquid eyeliner in Perversion ( http://www.sephora.com/24-7-waterproof-liquid-eyel iner-P292015?skuId=1348697) A black mascara (I am terrible for going between brands--I have not found any one I'm totally loyal to and in love with enough to list here.) And I would be slathering my face in sunscreen regularly to maintain my deathly pallor fair complexion.
Hi BTers, I'm sharing this with you because I know you will understand the motivation and will be supportive. I was looking at my budget last night because I'm revamping it for grad school and I set myself a budget of $35 a month for makeup/skincare/beauty etc. And then I noticed that I spend about $230 on cigarettes every month. I tried to quit this summer but because of some ridiculous academic stress it didn't happen. But starting on Sunday I'm going to start again and for every dollar I save on cigarettes I am going to put $0.50 in my makeup budget. So by the time I quit all the way (I'm doing a gradual step-down) I will have an additional $115 in my makeup budget. I can't spend forever with that kind of makeup budget but maybe through the VIB sale in November then I will re-assess my new cigarette free budget. I'm hoping my desire to buy Mario Badescu facial products and more YSL lip products will be strong motivators for me to cut down on my cigarettes. Anyway, thanks for listening Ladies and Gents, I just wanted to share my quitting plan with people who would understand why makeup is such a strong motivator.
Did anyone else get sucked in to Ulta's cyber monday and still not even get a shipping notice? I never order from Ulta but they had some gifts I missed out on or didn't have at Sephora (the $10 Art of Shaving kit for my BIL, a $19 Bare Minerals kit for my SIL) and the free gift looked nice. I ordered just after midnight on sunday night/monday morning and it still says "order processing" and since it's been 5 days the pending charges aren't even on m CC anymore. I know other people are having the same issues because their Facebook page is blowing up and they sent an email out letting everyone know they are experiencing delays. They said it will still be here within 10 business days (which is really 2 weeks) but I am not confident my order will complete or have the free gift (if something is OOS it will mess up my christmas shopping because I thought I was done). I get it's shopping season, but in comparison, all my other holiday orders have been here for a few days. My Sephora CM order that I placed late on Monday got here Wednesday. My giftopia order was only 1 or 2 days behind, which wasn't bad at all. I'm on day 6 with Ulta. Anyone else having holiday shipping woes or get sucked into Ulta? I knew I was a Sephora girl before, but I can say with confidence now that Sephora > Ulta. Plus, Sephora's CS has always been good to me. Ulta doesn't seem to be handling this well.
Good morning, dolls! Let's start the day off with a random quiz: 1. What plans do you have for the weekend? Going to go out to eat and hang out with my coworker/friend. 2. If you could wear one perfume for the rest of your life, what would it be? This is a tough one, but I think I am going to have to Say Gucci Envy Me. 3. Are you an only child? If not, how many siblings do you have? No, I have three siblings; two brothers and one sister. 4. Have you got all your holiday shopping done? Nope; I still need to order a couple of other stuff for the family. 5. What special holiday meal will you be enjoying this year? Glazed ham with honey, mashed potatoes and gravy.
I don't understand why people think I'm mean if I'm just being myself. Is it because I'm an introvert? Have darker interests? Or because I dresss in all black? It's probably that and because I'm quite the honest person, I'm not sugar-coating anything, that just being a dishonest person. I guess I'll always have to deal with it since I'm always getting made fun of. Has something like this happened to you?
So, I'm in the midst of the college application process and I was writing essays for Brown U and one of the questions posed was in regard to a community that I valued and I started my essay by mentioning Sephora's Beauty Talk. ^.^ You ladies mean a lot to me if you sneak into my applications to Ivy Leauge schools!
Hi all, I have been so frustrated lately at my lack of eyelining skills. I can work with a pencil just fine, but I turn to the mystical (to me) world of gels and liquids to achieve the coveted, timeless "cat-eye" look that so many beauty bloggers claim to use in their everyday routine. Every. single. tutorial I've watched makes application look SO easy! It only flusters me more...does anyone else have this problem? I have a lot to learn, but I like to think I know my way around a makeup bag...it is almost embarrassing to me to be unable to do a winged eye. I've tried gel and liquid, angled and long skinny brushes...nothing. If any of you could guide me, I'd be infinitely grateful!! Thank you!
With cell phones and the portability of digital cameras, I'd say most of us have taken a spur of the moment picture that comes out awesome or of something hilarious. I figured it'd be cool to have a thread to share some photos like that. Here are some I picked from my Facebook for the first post. On my way back to my college apartment one weekend, I came across this. I normally do not mess with my iPhone when driving, but I HAD to take a picture of this! People just amaze me at times. When I uploaded it, I gave it the captian "Haulin' that Power Wheel truck, like a boss!!" lol. All that was holding it to the roof were a couple of bungee cords. A screenshot of one of my Words with Friends games. No longer is it a planet, but it's not a word either. Kind of sad. From the past weekend. What's funny is that Foxy didn't try to get it off. I honestly think she liked it. She's sassy and loves attention lol.
hey guys i would love it if we did a beauty box so we could share the beauty products and give the rest to chart or shelters. if you are interested please pm me. i would like this to be in the los angeles area because of time and money. TY!
Okay so over the past few weeks I think I've watched one too many Hallmark holiday movies, animated shows and network specials. I have been all about the holiday decorations and have been scouring Pinterest for ideas. Over the past 2 days I've been feverishly gathering decorations, making a wreath, stringing ornaments and decorating my porch. For the past two days it looked like I was glitterbombed by one of Santa's elves. Who else out there has been decorating for the holidays? Here's what I ended up with.
