I just put in an order for the Marc Jacobs gel liner just because the YourGift code was populating a Acqua Di Parma Blu Meditterraneo Sampler Box of five of their scents. After August I need to put myself on a no-buy. '>.<'
With the Rouge Event just around the corner, and money to be spent, heres my list! My current (it could grow) wishlist : With so many holding off on purchasing, and the 4x point reward, I'd love to see what people have their eye on or what they plan on hauling at the event! So....Whats on your list?!
Just a quick FYI to anyone with a Costco membership; the store near me (Fremont CA to be exact) has Glam Glow Power Mud for around $36. This is the newer mud-oil hybrid deep cleansing treatment. Also, to, and more exciting to me, this Costco also has Chanel nail polish! The price on the nail polish was $20 or so IIRC? Shades included Jade Rose (pale peachy pink), a red and a warm grey (sorry, don't recall the name) and Vertigo, a shimmery dark taupe brown. Vertigo came home with me. Whoohoo for Costco! I had no idea they carried prestige brands, it was my first trip there ever.
I have been picking my skin ever since I was a teen up until now. I didn't know it was an ocd trait. I didn't even know that it had a name - Dermatillomania. It feels strange to put a name to such a habit that I feel is so hard to stop. All I've known for many years is that I have to stop, that this "condition"? was not only harming my skin, but my self confidence as well. Now I'm on a mission to let my poor skin rest and get back to health. Also apparently you can be addicted to sugar. I kind of already knew that I have one hell of a sweet tooth but what i've found just confirmed my suspicions. This habit (disorder?) makes it impossibly hard to stick to a healthy way of eating, which I need to do - in order to lose weight - in order to feel better. ( Not just confidence wise, but health wise too) I've just been stumbling into a lot of interesting, complicated and deep subjects recently. I should probably start (and maintain) a blog lol. What have you found out?
Ulta is the WORST and is impossible to deal with. I have had an issue with my Ulta account for a while now. Everytime I try to process my payment an error message comes up. I called Ulta's customer service about this problem a couple of time and they did nothing to help. All they said was to check my billing and shipping information and wait 24-48 and try processing the order again. They is nothing wrong with my information. Everything is correct. The problem is with Ulta. They have a horrible system. I prefer Sephora so much more. They actually help you with the problems you are having.
I've been on a massive Dolce spree lately... I tried their lipsticks and lip glosses and I'm in love! I also did my normal Kat Von D hoarding as well this month with all the new lippies. So much so, that I haven't yet did my normal Nars round up. Is there a particular brand that you have been snatching up lately anytime you have a couple of bucks in your pocket? What is the brand and how much do you think you spent on your brand addiction? And what do you love about it?
I stopped in to Sephora today , I usually only get there 1 time per month since I don't have one that close to me. I got a lot more than what I came in for lol but I had a great visits & can't wait to try my new items! If anyone has tried any of these products i would love to hear your thoughts on them. So two nights ago I decided to pull out all my lippys and take a sorta inventory on colours and items that would be useful for summer looks. I ended up sitting there with cotton pads and systematically applying and removing one after the other, deciding if I would wear each colour this season or not. I must say I'm sitting pretty with quite a few bright summery lippys. the colours I deemed too dark were shuffled to the back of my drawer. i ended up putting six lippys aside for either my mother or my sister to pick at if they choose cause I thought they were mistakes for me. In the end I feel much more organized, with a better sense of what I own and my lips are super exfoliated from all the swiping and wiping. how do the rest of you keep track of your inventory? Or do you? It just occurred to me that I should have been disinfecting my lippys as I went.... Oh well.
I feel we need our own thread for all of the awesome stuff we get for our furry friends. I love to spoil my two cats almost as much as I love spoiling myself with Sephora goodies And honestly, I can always use more ideas on how to incorporate awesome looking cat toys, climbers, or whatnot into my home. I'll share my current faves in the comments!
I haven't see a no-buy thread in a while, so I thought I'd start one up, mainly b/c I could use the support! I'm on a no-buy from now til...however long I can last! I'm taking a trip to Italy at the end of the year AND in the meantime will be taking the GRE + applying to grad school, so I'm trying to save up as much as possible for these upcoming expenses. And on top of that I've shopped like crazy this summer so I think it's time to just take my credit cards and stick them in the freezer or something. Naturally, I'm imagining this though: Anyone else trying very hard to restrain themselves?
Has anyone downloaded the Summer 2014 playlist from Sephora? I had it but it got deleted so I'm trying to find the correct track listing that Sephora had listed on its website. I just need the correct track order they had listed. Thanks.
For all the beauty junkies out there: I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little -- if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny. ---- Coco Chanel
Have you ever tried a shadow (or other color product) color that you thought would be awful and turns out that you love it? I recently got the Too Faced Bonjour Summer palette for the nice compact size and the Mermaid shadow color (I love anything mermaid!). I tried the color Firefly today, it looks orange in the pan, and it turns out I'm in love! How 'bout you all? Have you accidently found something fabulous?
I'm sooooo excited! I just bought Bobbi Brown's Beauty Manual in Barnes and Noble the other day and loved it. I just happened to take a peek at her actual website and saw that she's got a team of makeup artists that hold workshops. I was thinking...how am I getting to CA or NY for these?!?!? Then I found out it's right at the Bobbi Brown Studio in my State! (NJ) I didn't know this place existed. Just so happens that the Basic Beauty workshop is being help next Friday from 4-8pm. It's $200 ($100 redeemable in product) If any of you are from NJ and have the $, maybe you should come with!! I'm overly excited about this ;-) Happy Monday <3
Inspired by my new love for the YSL Babydoll Faux Cils mascara 100pt perk. What products (makeup, skincare, hair care, whatever) have you received samples of or perks of that have become staples in your collection?
So I've been shopping at Sephora for a while and it's been my retail therapy. I love trying products and just roaming the aisle. My guy would go to another store while I shop. Now, he asked me about a cleanser and I was happy to show him a few that would be great. I think I've created a monster because now he wants more. Would this be good or bad news for you? On one hand I would enjoy having company sometimes and on the other the money we spent on his skin care would be less for my products. I know that sounds selfish but yeah, I think dollars and cents. He wants to go back next weekend to browse more products. Oh boy. What would you do?
I know this may sound harsh, but I really dislike all drugstore makeup. I'm sure there are many products out that are of great quality, even better than some high end makeup, but I have never found a drugstore product that I have liked. I've tried primers, foundations, powders, eye shadows, eye liners, mascaras, lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip stains, but each product has left me disappointed. I've also tried makeup removers from the drugstore, but they also left me disappointed. Does anyone else dislike drugstore makeup? I've stopped trying drugstore makeup all together now because every product has left me disappointed; which led to quite a bit of money being wasted. I only get high end makeup now because I am rarely ever disappointed with my purchases.
I've always loved makeup. I took Cosmetology back in 2002-2004 because I thought there were more makeup lessons involved, but there wasn't any. I am tired of my 9-5 desk job and I'm thinking of making a big change. I'm 28 and to the point where I need the extra push. They just opened up the first and only makeup school in NJ; Robert Fiance Makeup Academy and I am really thinking about attending! They offer a "Journeyman" program, which includes freelance makeup and theatrical. What do you guys think???? Has anyone ever gone to one?
Are there any phrases and/or words that you think are overused and are starting to bug the heck out of you? The one that is getting on my nerves the most is "curated". For example, "this makeup line was curated by our beauty editor." I just feel it's so over the top and pompous. Also, the word "sweet" instead of "cool". I actually heard a woman who had to be at least 75 years old using it. I laughed so hard I almost fell over.
