**I wrote this a while back but it kept saying there was profanity so it took me a while to find the one word that was preventing this from getting posted.** To be totally honest, I really wasn't expecting to actually LIKE Formula X, let alone develop a major crush. I thought that Formula X, being Sephora's in-house nail polish brand, would be equivalent to bad drugstore nail polish. And that I wouldn't waste money on such nonsense. And then, courtesy of Sephora and Formula X and BeautyTalk, I received a mystery package. You guessed it, it was Formula X's The System To Go (with colour shade Alive). I told myself I had to try it because I wanted to be on the anti-hype train. But the opposite sort of happened. For a Xmas mani, I decided on trying out The System with that VIB Rouge Formula X renewal shade from who even knows how long ago. So this review is about everything except the colour in this set. Cleanse: I thought this could be better. The brush was way too small but perfectly sized in all the other bottles. I thought it was essentially nail polish remover. It strips the nail of oils so that your base coat sticks right onto your nails. I could use the bottle of crappy nail polish remover I have sitting around for this instead of spending 13$ on a little polish jar. For the price, I expect to have a large bottle of it. Even my favourite OPI remover costs less. Prime: I actually really liked this. It applied very well to my nails and it dried quickly (and clear). It did a great job of prepping my nail for colour application. The colour caught on to the base really well and wasn't streaky. I'm still wearing my mani but I'm hoping my nails won't be stained when I remove it. I think I like this as much as I love my all-time favourite Essie base coat!!! VIB Rouge renewal colour: So I haven't tried Alive, which came with my set. I went for red because I wanted to have a Xmas vibe going on. The polish applied really well and stuck right onto the base coat with no hassle. It was even pretty darn opaque with just one coat. With two, it was perfect. No streaky mess. No bubbling! Yay! I have to say I really really love the polish. Shine: I usually have very bad experiences with top coats so I wasn't expecting much. I applied two coats just to be sure that it was indeed "fast-drying". Which it actually turned out to be so yay! I didn't wake up with smudges or blanket fluff on my nails!! It sealed in the colour quickly and dried quickly and thoroughly, which is what I need in a so-called fast drying top coat. Also, no bubbles, which is a huge plus. It didn't do any of that weird shrinking of the polish stuff when it dried. I have the perfect mani. My all-time favourite top coat is Essie's Good To Go and this is the first time that any top coat has even come close. I did my nails around 5-6 days ago and I only have slight chipping on the very edge of the nails that isn't visible. My nails still look like I just did them, except for the little bit where my nail has grown out lol. All in all, I quite enjoyed this set a lot more than I thought I would. For some reason, my mother and I just had this impression that Formula X would be awful and we were both so very impressed with the performance of these polishes that we might actually start buying them. The only con is the price point. I can get polishes with the same quality for a lot less. Formula X ranges from 13-18 and I can get Essie for 8-9 and OPI for 10. I just don't think it's feasible unless they have a very unique colour that I can't find elsewhere. The high price is a turn-off for me. As for this set, it could have been a bit cheaper but was still a decent price if you are like me and didn't want to take the full plunge into the sea of Formula X. If you have nothing to lose, get the full-size version of The System because you save a lot more $$$.
I had a bad injury and can't really go to school, and was wondering if anyone knew if this is actually a useful site? Is it sufficient enough to get lets say a job at sephora? Now I am aware that you do not need to be a certified MUA to work at sephora, but will it help, and with other job opportunities as well?

Because I was procrastinating while studying for finals, I stumbled upon the "pretty girls, ugly faces" posts on various websites. Reddit has a subreddit for it.
Not sure if any ladies would be interested, but I thought it would be fun for us to goof off a little after making ourselves gorrrgeous daaaaaahling.
(Oooooh, here's an idea, after you post in the "What are you wearing today" thread you can head on down here! lol.)
I can start it off to break the ice. Don't judge me.

Tell me I'm beautiful.
So for those of you that have been into makeup before the crazy social media hype around products/tools etc.., did you find products were better/worse? What kind of changes have you noticed and how do you feel having a massive 'beauty community' nowadays? Do you feel companies have listened to what consumers want? Do you think social media, overall, has impacted positively/negatively and how so? I feel social media has helped and other times products are so hyped and don't live up to the hype for me. I have learned many things online and with YouTube it's easy to do a full-face of makeup yourself. After enough videos, chatting on BT , and googling one becomes so knowledgeable and after some practice one even becomes a pro lol- for her(him)/self anyways!! I also know, on the other hand, that makeup prices are increasing all the time, and don't know if this is due to social media and product 'hype' or just the general cost of things overall...can't help but be curious I personally wasn't into makeup until a couple years ago. I had never ventured into the makeup world prior, and often just wore eyeliner and would go about my day. The craziest I got with makeup was wearing mascara lol and even some blush. Now I like to wear a full-face at times and at times, nothing. The only thing I haven't gotten into is wearing falsies. Other then that I love it all- from contouring, to highlighting and playing with different looks. I love looking dewy and having dat J-Lo glow ...A girl can never have too many lipsticks either... So...what are your thoughts? =)

Hi, I used my coupon and just realize that I need to get some more gifts so if anyone are using theirs, please send me a private message with the codes. It will be much appreciated. p/s: please do not post the code in the comment since someone else may grab it before I can use it. Thanks a lot.
So, I am applying to law school and haven't been teaching as much. I miss teaching 2-3 classes a day! So, I thought maybe if anyone here has any questions about starting or continuing a yoga practice, I could fill my little void that way! Background: I have been practicing for about 10 years. I am certified in kripalu yoga, which is more along the hatha (breath-based) tree. I wrote my college thesis on yoga and the community formed within and around it. I have also run races from 5ks to half marathons and ride horses, so any athlete/injury related questions around yoga I probably have some background to pull from. So...any yogis in the house? :-)

You traded in your shorts and flip flops for wool blend sweaters and warm, chunky scarves, and now it’s time to alter your skincare regimen during these chilly winter months. Skin tends to become drier and dull-looking–unless you give it the attention it deserves. These three incredible products will defend your skin from harsh elements like ice cold weather and frigid winds for a hydrated, smooth complexion. -Tracy J.
Clarisonic Mia Fit
Step one of any skincare routine: cleansing. And if you want to cleanse your skin up to six times better than hands alone, Clarisonic’s Mia Fit is for you. This extra-gentle, travel-friendly device features two speed settings that deep clean to effectively remove dirt, oil, and makeup. The waterproof design allows you to cleanse skin while showering and the complimentary Skin Illuminating Cleanser will transform dull skin into a luminous, healthy-looking complexion.

It’s important to remember to exfoliate during the winter time to reveal baby soft skin. This versatile treatment fights acne and blemishes, improves discoloration, and polishes skin. The exfoliation action removes dead skin cells and eliminates bacteria, leaving skin vibrant and renewed. It only takes two minutes, once or twice weekly, so let’s face it… it’s the next best option to visiting Kate for an exfoliating facial at the clinic. And who can resist the adorable holiday packaging?

If you happen to fall in love with this nighttime moisturizer like we did, you can pair it with existing products in the line: Repairwear Laser Focus serum , Wrinkle Correcting Eye Cream and SPF 15 Foundation.

I've been browsing the BeautyTalk forums for a while, but never posted (my apologies if this post is not formatted correctly!). As a lot of you may know the gift cards are coming for BI-VBI Rouge members very soon, so I thought now was the perfect time to share. If you download iBotta (a rebate app), you can get 10 dollars back from a 50 dollar Sephora purchase via paypal, venom, or even a Sephora gift card (they also have Starbucks, Best Buys, Amazon, etc). They usually credit me within a few hours. *Hint Hint* If you plan on spending 100+ dollars, break up your order so that you can maximize your cash (you just have to wait for the offer to pop up again). You can use my link to help get you started! https://ibotta.com/r/mdroyyj
Ok, I need to vent. REVIEWS ARE NOT MADE FOR VENTING! And while I'm at it, limited edition products are exactly that: LIMITED EDITION. The supply is small. That's how it works. Rating something low because you couldn't get it won't make it magically appear. I could go on but I won't. Just tired of seeing this happen.
Show me what products you think have the best packaging. This just caught my eye. I get fake nails so I dont even use polish but I want it just for the package. http://www.sephora.com/bottle-service-set-P400953? icid2=Just_Arrived_makeup_sku_grid_P400953_link
Grunge lipstick is #TRENDINGatSEPHORA !
The 90s are coming back and we may soon be back to the days of camisoles and boot-cut pants. But what about the other side of the decade? We’re talking about grunge. Disheveled, wild, empowered, and unabashedly sexy, the grunge look took the music world—and soon everyone else—by storm. The look features bold, statement-making lips with shades of cement gray, deep brown, and vampy purple.
After you throw on your ripped jeans and flannel shirt, start your grunge lip look with flawless, plump lips. Scrub with a lip scrub to exfoliate any loose skin, and then hydrate with your favorite balm. Next apply a liner that matches your lipstick to prevent feathering and create perfect definition. This step is really important with the bold grunge shades. Apply your lipstick from the tube or with a brush, depending on the format, and you’re ready to go!
Check out some of our favorites for creating this look:
Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick in Matte Medium Brown. It’s creamy formula doesn’t dry out so lips are kept hydrated.
Nars Audacious Lipstick in Deborah offers amazing glide and a saturated, dark chestnut tone.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss in Piaf offers a cool chocolate base with purple shimmer for adding a hint of mystery to your grunge look.
Bite Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Cognac features orange peel wax for moisture-resistant, long-wearing color.
Buxom Big & Sexy Bold Gel Lipstick in Sinful Cinnamon is a one-swipe matte brown with an ultralightweight gel formula.
When you finish your hot grunge look, take a selfie and share on this thread or on the The Beauty Board . Then get out there and rock on!

Predictions of what will go on sale later this year? I know the Kat Von D studded palette went on sale and the Hello Kitty Pop Up party palette. Both which I purchased but returned as they didn't work for me. There was also a Buxom palette I remember that went on sale and some other goodies. A bit later on, the Ammo (UD) palette went on sale which I own and love. What do you predict will go on sale? And why?
I read an article that they trying a different model store and plans to expand if it does well. Any thoughts? I read the article on the glamour's "lipstick" website. I would post the link but I'm afraid it'll get taken down.
Oh well, I tried. And tried, and tried! During the rouge sale, I bought a gift set. The 20% didn't apply. I ordered anyway, thinking that, well it's Sephora, and they have great CS, so they will fix it. Wrong. I contacted them via FB (said they won't fix it), by phone (won't fix it), by email (no answer), and SEVERAL time on this board (see my posts on the CS board, no reply, Janea contacted me via DM asking me if I still needed help, but never replied to me after that.). This is the worst CS experience, ever. How can you treat customers like that? And especially now that Rouge can't access the VIB sale, I'm saying Goodbye Sephora. I've had enough. I'm returning my $800 order. I will spend my points. And I will shop where I am treated with respect. It was nice while it lasted.
Man, these guys have been on a roll recently! Curry's gotten MJ comparisons, franchise record of 10-0, etc. What are your thoughts on the team? Do you think they're going to win the NBA Finals again? (Yes- in my humble opinion as a fan) What/When was your first game you watched? Mine was in person when I won tickets back when the Warriors had a mascot and they were at the bottom on the NBA totem pole. Play nice BT sports fans. But go Warriors! I loved the playoffs. Despite traffic.
