In my town we have "Angel Trees" at several retail locations. Each angel on the tree represents a low-income child or family with children and essentially you choose an angel at random and give them a gift for the holidays. Every year my family chooses an angel and we buy every item they have on their holiday wish list as well as extras. My family and I started the tradition because when I was 9 my family's house burnt down. We lost absolutely everything we ever had. This happened just a few weeks before Christmas. A lovely couple happened to pick my family's angel and they bought every item my sister and I had put on our wishlist. They made it possible for us to have presents under our tree and without them we would've had nothing. My family is forever grateful for that couple so even though my sister and I are married and live in our own households, we still work together in choosing an angel and attempting to provide a child (or children) with a good holiday. Does anyone else make it a tradition to give back either by volunteering, donating, or participating in an "Angel Tree" or something similar? This year we've chosen a 15 year old girl and I'm super excited because she just so happens to love makeup, haircare, skincare, and bath products... right up my alley! I'm thinking about giving: the Sephora Superstars kit, the Holiday Hair and Body Beautifiers Josie Maran giftset, the Bumble and Bumble Polished 2-Step kit, and some Philosophy bath products. I figured these would be the safest bet as I'm not entirely sure of this girl's ethnicity, skin tone, hair type, or anything like that. Also, as she's only 15 I don't want anything too outrageous in case she can't wear a full face of makeup. Additionally we've already bought her a coat, gloves, scarves, hair dryer, flat iron, hair accessories, PINK leggins/sweatshirt giftset, and VS and BBW fragrance and bath items. If anyone else has any other age-appropriate suggestions I'd love to hear it!
We swatched Urban Decay's new Naked3(!!) palette to see how the colors looked on different skintones. What do you think?
Do you have a swatch of this palette? Post a pic in the thread below!

There have been too many serious threads lately--let's start a fun one! If there was no dress code and no social norms, what look would you rock daily? I would wear glitter eyeshadow non-stop! Throwback to the Sephora 2009 holiday catalog!
I would like to see: Chanel Kielhs Burberry Armani Juice Beauty Cargo YBF Beauty I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Dermalogica! Hopefully other people want these brands and maybe we can get some into Sephora stores!
Hi all beauties! I have been looking through google, blogs/reviews and youtube about this Conair curl secret. I was wondering if any of you have bought it and want to ask how you like it. It is kinda pricey for a curling iron. But is it really worth it? Thank you in advance!
I had to share with everyone how much a great help Ron at the rouge line was! Super friendly and efficient! YAY RON!!!! Some of the Black Friday deals were full price for Canadians and should have been 12$. Ron was super friendly in assisting me in getting a refund for the difference. Very pleasant to talk to!
Yayyy! I just got it! I set my alarm for 2AM CST, which is the equivalent of 12AM PST. It looks like it was probably up for quite some time, but I can't be sure. Anyway, I was able to order it. YAY! *Edit: It appears that it went live at 12PM CST, according to Sephora's facebook page.*
What makeup is everyone wearing today? Today I am wearing: 1. Benefit Hello Flawless Foundation in Champagne 2. Benefit Coralista blush 3. TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer 4. Dior Creme de Rose Lipbalm 5. Dior Addict Lipstick in 454 6. Benefit Creaseless Cream shadow in RSVP and under all this I am wearing Neutrogena Pure and Free Liquid Sunblock SPF 50 So c'mon now...confess!
Okay girls. Spill it. What are some of the weird things you do? Here's one of mine: I don't know if I'm the only one that does weird stuff like this but I have 'cart sitter' products in my cart. Stuff I wasn't going to buy but stuff that was over $25 so that I could set up whatever promo and/or perks I wanted for my next purchase and my three free samples. It's usually something from my loves list that I'm not ready to purchase yet. Then when what I do want comes along I add it to my cart and quickly remove the 'cart sitter' products and check out pronto. I am strange. I do know this.
Happy Mani Friday!
I had to nubbinize my nails this week (all of that Thanksgiving prep and cooking just ruined me), so today's mani is unfortunately not mine. But I loved these Giftopia nails so much that I had to share! Adorbz, right?
What are you rockin' on your tips this week? Show & Tell!
So I'd like to maintain a board for the Canadian customers. A place where we can share our events, promos, problems etc. I sometimes see deals and info for Canadians and rather then posting a new convo all the time maybe we can just share on this board. I think it would be easier to communicate with each other if we only had one board to follow. - I recently posted that Nail Polish Canada has free shipping on any orders for a limited time. - I forgot to mention that The Bay will be hosting Beauty Gala's this coming week. You have to buy a ticket but out of the 10$ 2 goes to charity and 8 towards your purchase. Some counters give free stuff when you buy the ticket from them. You get your make-up done too at that counter I'm going and very excited about it! EDITED: Anyone interested in getting Tonymoly products you can contact them via their Canadian Facebook page to place an order. 5$ shipping, free over purchases 50$. I think they have a store in Pacific Mall in Markham ON
I'm not usually one to butt into people's conversations or say anything to people, but I've noticed something and it's really been bothering me. I'm not here to offend anyone but I'm sure there will be someone who says that I'm ridiculous to post this. But anyways, I just want to put it out there. So this is to the people who complain about the FREE samples, and the Reward Cards. First off, I can't believe you're complaining about a free $20 off of $50... some ROUGE members were complaining about how they deserve more money off because they spend more in Sephora....no one is MAKING you spend that much. And if you can spend $1000 a year what's $20 off? Am I right? Also, to the people complaining about the free samples given out, at least they give out free samples? What if Sephora didn't give out any of these things? They give you these things as incentive to spend money in their store. I guess all I mean to say here is I think that you should just be grateful that they are giving these things out. A lot of stores don't give out any coupons or have deals like this.
Okay so over the past few weeks I think I've watched one too many Hallmark holiday movies, animated shows and network specials. I have been all about the holiday decorations and have been scouring Pinterest for ideas. Over the past 2 days I've been feverishly gathering decorations, making a wreath, stringing ornaments and decorating my porch. For the past two days it looked like I was glitterbombed by one of Santa's elves. Who else out there has been decorating for the holidays? Here's what I ended up with.
- bareminerals original foundation - bareminerals Ready mineral veil - NYC sunny bronzer - Covergirl 3 in 1 outlast foundation - Lorac Behind the Scenes eye primer - Tarte LipSurgence lip tint - grateful - MUFE full cover concealer please share yours! i would LOVE to hear and try your favorites!
I've mentioned in other threads that UPS basically has no idea when my package will be available for delivery or pickup. The tracking has been updated everyday from out for delivery to exception since Tuesday. Now today there has been no activity with my package. I called them again today and was flat out told they have absolutely no idea when they will deliver my package and they have no information to give me. They even admitted that they've been processing and delivering new packages that come in and leaving the older ones behind in the trailers. This seems counterintuitive and counterproductive. Why not tackle the older packages first? Those packages arent just boxes. There are people expecting their stuff just like I am and shouldn't be swept to the side because no one wants to deal with those trailers. I get that its busy and probably thousands of boxes to get through but this is too much. Sad thing is i literally live right next to them and could walk there to get my package if it was actually available. Plus I just ordered again and asked CS at sephora if they could ship my package via USPS instead since I'm uncertain if I'll even receive the new one and they said no, after I placed the order I cannot make changes and that ups is their preferred shipping method I'm hoping the weekend gives them time to catch up and if I don't get my stuff by Monday, Tuesday I'm going to lose my ****
Hi girls! So I ordered quite a few of the $10 steals and I thought it would be fun for us to write up mini review on them for each other. Mine arrived last night, so I've only tried two so far. Eyeko Mascara/Eyeliner (still available) I was SO excited to try the Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner.... and it wasn't very pigmented. Maybe it is a little dry and I need to shake it up (??) and try again tomorrow. I'll report back. I haven't tried the mascara yet but the wand is very unique. http://www.sephora.com/skinny-mini-duo-P377021?sku Id=1470962 Caudalie Hand Cream and Lip Conditioner Duo (sold out- individual links below) I had been wanting to try the lip conditioner and I constantly use hand lotion so this was perfect for me. The lip conditioner is very smooth and smells nice. The hand lotion smells sooooo good (sort of citrusy?) and my hands feel lovely! What do you guys think of your $10 sets? http://www.sephora.com/lip-conditioner-P6034?skuId =241653 http://www.sephora.com/h-nail-cream-P152203?skuId= 941609
Does any one else use Luvocracy? I'm kindof obsessed right now. It's like Pinterest where you can actually buy the products and also get a small credit if people buy from your Luvs (recommendations). My user name is Kandie Herrera, come find me or leave your user name as well. Just purchased the Beauty Blender solid cleanser with my credit! Hope it works wonders
I check the sale section at least once a day. It's been pretty consistent for a while now, but today, wham!! Lots of great stuff! Snagged: Urban Decay Black Market liner set for $24 (that's $4 a liner, I'll split it up and it make great gifts when combined with some of the little shadow palettes I've bought!!) NARS nail polish in Disco Inferno for $5 A Nails Inc. nail polish for $5 (love their polishes!) Also got a gift for a relative who may know my login for BT so I won't list it here.
I know Christmas isn't always about the presents. It's the family, the friends, the food, the spirit, and of course the ugly (yet fashionably cute) Christmas sweaters. I want to hear the goods. I want to hear what's on your list, because Santa will be checking it twice if you've been naughty or nice For example: My family consists of many siblings, so we usually make a personalized wish list with different price ranges to hand out to eachother. It makes gift giving easier, and well more personal to what the person wants. It may sound materialistic to some, but it's actually really helpful if you're into gift giving. Let's face it, we all do not want things that don't fit us, or that we're allergic too, or simply it's not our cup of tea otherwise it would go into the closet or quite possibly the next garage sale... So, what is everybody asking for this year? It can be one awesome thing, or many things. It doesn't have to be from Sephora either. I want to see pictures, so post 'em up ladies!
Christmas is 19 days away [EEK] and I know a lot of us are already in the throws of holiday shopping or about to start. So my question to you guys is, what are you getting other people for Christmas? May it be from Sephora or somewhere else. For my boyfriend I got him the Art of Shaving mini kit from Black Friday, a custom ornament, I want to get him something from Lush for his acne I just don't know what yet, and a video game as well as a new phone case are on the to buy list. For my bestie I'm got her a blush palette from Coastal Scents and I want to get her either the eye paint from NARS in Tartar, the lip pencil Never Say Never, or the chubby Punker eyeliner. My brother got Beats by Dre awhile ago just 'cause and I told him that was an early Christmas gift, but I may get him an iTunes gift card. My step brother I'm giving some money to towards his driving class. My step sister I got the Rihanna Hearts MAC lipliner and lipgloss in Riri Woo, debating if I want to get the lipstick or not. I was going to get my mom and LE Barbie, but she wants a JCPenny's gift card instead. My stepdad....money for his saddlebags or something Cowboys related. I have no idea what to get my real dad, probably something Cowboys related as well. @_@ I like buying gifts, my wallet doesn't, but I do. How about you guys?
Hello my beautiful people!!! I just reached 2,000 hearts! YAY!!! And I got no shame, I am going to throw myself a Heart Party!!! Ain't no party like a Beauty Talk Party, cause Beauty Talk Party don't stop! (Yes, I am quoting Coolio ) I absolutely love Beauty Talk and I am so happy to call you all my Beauty Talk Family. Also, I am so grateful that BT has brought me closer to a few members that I am honored to call a true friend for life!! And everyone gets a pink Chanel cupcake!!! YAY!!! Love you all!!!
I haven't seen questions posted in awhile, so I thought I'd throw some out there! 1. How do you feel about the Pantone Color of the Year (Radiant Orchid)? 2. Do you follow any beauty blogs? Care to share your favs? 3. Where are you in your holiday shopping (haven't started, done, halfway, etc)? 4. How many cousins do you have? Are you close to any of them? 5. Did you have any sort of calendar for 2013? What theme did it have?
i was just wondering what kind of fears people have. I have a TON of fears, including heavy rain + thunder, spiders, and crowds of people (anxiety). Also, how do you guys cope with your fears? What kinds of things comfort you?
It's here! The 2014 Pantone Color of the Year is Radiant Orchid, a beautiful (and versatile!) floral flush.
The Sephora + PANTONE collection will be available in 2014 (and will be gorg, I'm sure), but in the meantime, let's go through our beauty bags. What's your favorite beauty product in Radiant Orchid (or your closest approximation)?

(Not to be confused with the Nordstrom's fashion rewards!) I would call this Nordstrom's version of Beauty Insider as membership is free, and every 100 pt qualifies for a deluxe-sized sample and 500 pts a "premium beauty reward." Apparently this program is still in initial stages, and only a handful of stores are currently participating. Online beauty purchases count towards the points but rewards can only be redeemed at the participating stores at the moment. List of participating stores: Cherry Creek Shopping Center, Christiana Mall, City Creek Center, Easton Town Center, Fashion Mall, Freehold Raceway Mall, International Plaza, Montclair Plaza, Oakbrook Center, Park Meadows, Roosevelt Field, Saint Louis Galleria, San Francisco Centre, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Spokane, The Mall at Green Hills, The Shops at Mission Viejo, Town Center at Boca Raton, Valley Fair and Waterside. Thoughts? Has anyone redeemed said reward(s)?
I wish so badly I'd known these things would make my life easier! If this helps even just 1 person, that's what I want. (If my post helps you in any way, please let me know!) 1. Change your mascara with the change of seasons. We all know we should change it out every 3 months, but who can remember when that was?! So, I change mine next month as Summer officially arrives. Then, another new tube in September when Fall arrives. That way, there's no doubt just how old that tube really is! 2. Quit picking. (This is where I'm being brutally transparent.) For years, it has hurt my head to see a clogged pore or a slight white center to an upcoming blemish. My solution was to squeeze, poke, prod...whatever I could to get it gone. What I've found is that LEAVING IT ALONE is actually the fastest cure for blemishes and for the overall prevention of them. I spent so much time in the mornings concealing, blending, concealing, blending, applying powder. My battle with cystic acne, I believe, is probably a lot of my fault because I was causing absolute chaos under my skin with all that nonsense. I've not touched my skin for almost 2 months now. How many blemishes do I have? Zero. How much redness do I have? Very little. When is the last time I used concealer? 1 month ago. Case made. 3. Don't reinvent the wheel. Instead of sticking with the formula of foundation that truly did work for me, I've sampled about all of them. YouTuber or blog poster raves about a foundation...I'm on it. I just tossed a BB cream and a CC cream sampler because I felt so compelled to see if this was the stuff that was going to work magic for me, and...wait for it...it didn't. Back to my foundation (Lancome's Dual Finish) formula and shade that get it right every time! I've learned that liquid formulas just don't work well for me, so why waste time, energy, and good skin (experienced a few hiccups of blemishes or just "yuck" skin because of sampler situations) to find that miracle product?! 4. Keep it simple. Instead of having tons of color products rolling around and coming loose from their pans, I have 1 single eye palette (Benefit's World Famous Neutrals in "Everyday") and 3 cheek colors (Tarte's Dollface, Exposed and then Benefit's Dandelion). All I do now is make either my eyes or lips the focal point of my look and use one of those cheek colors to brighten my face. And guess what? It's simple. I'm actually using up product before it expires or gets goopy or whatever. 5. Stick to a memorable routine. I exfoliate twice weekly (Murad's Pomegranate Mask), and I do it every Sunday and Wednesday. While it sets, I wash my BeautyBlender (I have 2, so this gives me a clean one twice a week). Once a month, I also wash my face & eye brushes while also doing my BeautyBlender. If I didn't stick to just those two days for treatments, I'd forget when, then it'd be a week, then a month before I'd realized how time had slipped by without keeping a routine. It truly does make a difference in my skin! Hope I helped!
