Just have to share - ordered some clothes and make up from ASOS and it actually ships from the UK (it's a UK based brand), to my house in Detroit practically overnight. The order was placed in the wee hours of the this morning, 2/25, and it's set for UPS delivery tomorrow. I'm impressed! They carry some fun brands and jewelry and beauty - though some of their clothes are pretty poor quality - I love that they have plus sizes too. Anyway I'm excited about this shopping experience and wanted to share with someone.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Mousse
"Get rid of winter blues, or at least that pallid winter skin. People will think you just got back from a tropical paradise with this advanced tanning formula. Super easy to apply, the luxurious mousse dries in 60 seconds and the tan develops in one hour. How long you wait to shower it off after that determines how deep your tan will be. Shower immediately for a subtle glow, wait another hour for a golden bronze tone, or wait a full three hours for a deep, rich tan. The vegan formula accelerates delivery for a streak-free, customizable tan that works on all skintones. This tanner even won an Allure Best of Beauty award for its innovative formula." - Kris G What are your winter skin fixes? Show and Tell!

What are the ways you maximize your spending and rewards for beauty purchases? Coupons, Promos, Rewards cards, Rewards Websites, rebates/ebates? I have used Mypoints.com for years and I recently discovered Swagbucks and Ebates.com. I also look for gwp, free samples, and promo codes. My favorite coupon sites are Brads Deals and Retail Me Not. I also try to use the Cartwheel app for Target when relevant. *sorry for the title error....wont let me edit it.
Here amazing dupes that I found: Aquaphor Lip Repair for AmorePacific Moisture Bound Lip Treatment . The Aquaphor has a very, very, very slight medicine taste, nothing unpleasant/unbearable, while the AmorePacific is unscented and has no taste. About performance, the Aquaphor is just as good as or even better than the AmorePacific. It lasts on my lips all night long, very moisturizing. $4 compared to $35. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque for GlamGlow Supermud I wish I had found the Mint Julep Masque earlier because I've already finished 2 jars of GlamGlow. The Mint Julep Masque just gives the same effect, and less drying than the Glamglow. And again, $5 for 8oz to $69 for 1.2oz. I can't ask for more!!! Please share yours with a brief review, and price comparison!
Lately I've been amping my looks up for work (server, mostly in the 21 and up area). And wow people like turn around and ladies rave. It's big confidence boosters. And I can thank sephora. I wish I had a picture but I wore the fake eyelashes on sale with the silver glitter, then sephoras glitter glue, a mix of sephora eyeshadow in diamonds are forever and mufes loose silver glitter, and a red lip. Hair in a top bun and a Xmas bow. Loving it. Thank you sephora. I return the favor by telling my customers.
I'm looking for workouts I can do at home. Trying to get healthy in 2015 (who isn't... right?) I love hip hop type workouts. (Les Mills BodyJam was my fav...don't have that where I live now) Cosmo just launched a new site that streams workouts, but it's pretty new so not a lot of info is out there. I know the Daily Burn has been around for a while...anyone have thoughts on this service? Are there other services that you'd recommend instead? Thanx
I just had to say that I had the two best customer service experiences of my life! One at Sephora and the other at Nordstrom's. I went to a Sephora while visiting my father in Florida and I just had the most refreshing moment with an SA. I was just lounging through the mall (my father was being grumpy with not finding what he wanted) so I found a Sephora (I'm not sure how many there are in Miami, LOL! It was near Aventura I think...) and I was just walking around. Wandering really when the nicest SA came up with me and we started chatting. We were just goofing off (something never seen by me in a Sephora on a Saturday night) and all of a sudden she was showing me stuff that she thought I might like and stuff that are her HG. She must have spent an hour and a half on me! I've never felt so wanted in a Sephora before in my life. They normally act like they want me to go away unless I'm getting a makeover. Then they want to show me everything! I didn't get her name (I think it was Marla) but she was truly the best. She almost got me to buy Kat's Interstellar but no one is that good! Then I had a kick **bleep** Nordstrom's experience! Two within 5 days! I had just come back from Florida on Tuesday and I didn't go online for the whole time I was with my father so I was behind on all my sales and things. I called Norstrom's because I was coming into the store on Saturday (eh! the Saturday before Christmas at the mall!) to pick up some stuff and I wanted to see if they were in stock. I got the greatest stylist named Michael! He sat there and looked through the Chanel section for the 500 items that I wanted (he kept asking me if there was anything else that I would like and I just kept coming up with things that I wanted from Chanel!). That's when he told me about the price match on the Lord and Taylor sale that ended that night. I was pissed because I had scheduled my 10 point day for Saturday so I told him that and he called and had my point day switched. Made me very happy. So I got my 10 point day and my 10% off! But if that wasn't enough, he gave me the 10% on the Chanel items (Chanel wasn't included in Lord and Taylor's sale)! He was about to ring me up and he asked me if there was anything else I wanted to buy and I was like "Well, i have to call back because I wanted some Dior and MAC" and he was so sweet and said that he'd grab them for me. So I gave him a list of what I wanted (it was A LOT!) and let him go on his merry hunt for my items. About a half hour later, he called me and said that he got most of my stuff (the only thing that they didn't have in store was the MAC lip pencil in Bespoken For and the holiday Dior eye shadow palette in Golden Shock). I told him that I figured that the Dior eye shadow would be MIA because they took it down off the website but he persisted and he found a store that still had both items and he took my information and said that they would send it to me via UPS. He took care of me at every turn even though I'm just some lady with too much time on my hands who was just too lazy to go to the store and shop around like most people. He put mu whole Christmas gift list together which is awesome enough but then he called me today at lunch and he wanted to know if I wanted him to gift wrap anything! How great is that??? So when I go pick up my stuff at the store tomorrow, not only do I not have to stand there and wait to pay at 500 individual make up and fragrance counters, I have my things already have my things gift wrapped and he said he threw in a million samples. He said every sample they had at the Jo Malone and Chanel counter. I really need to stop shopping but when someone goes out of their way to help you like that, it just makes me want to shop more, LOL! And the biggest shock was about an hour after I talked to him, I got my MAC and Dior order from UPS. I wasn't charged extra for the shipping. I placed my order at 8pm on Wednesday and received my order less than 2 days later! Awesome!
I love the makeup version of this thread! I have saved so much $$ due to all of you posting things from B&M stores as well as the interwebs. With Xmas and end of the year deals fast approaching thought a NON-makeup deal thread would be great for all of us to save $$$ to buy more makeup. LOL List away ladies and gents. Feel free to list codes and extra % from rebate sites. I'll go look through my favorite sites and come back and post. Lord and Taylor online has 20% off code is Ready

"It’s that spooky time of year again, and what better way to get into the Halloween spirit than experimenting with beauty essentials? So check out three of my favorite products below… if you dare." - Tracy J.
Korres Cucumber Fresh De-Puffing Eye Mask
"Halloween means Halloween parties. It’s almost certain you’ll be staying up all night either watching scary movies or dancing ‘til dawn. You’ll need to treat your tired, puffy eyes–and this Cucumber Fresh De-Puffing Eye Mask is a quick fix. It features cooling, calming cucumber to instantly refresh and moisturize, along with a cocktail of betaine and rhodiola rosea to reduce puffiness and rejuvenate. Best yet, it’s great for all skin types and super easy to use."
MAKE UP FOR EVER Studio Case
"Whether you’re hitting the town as a princess, vampire, or cowgirl, this palette has everything you need to capture the essence of your costume of choice. It features 12 eye shadows in a variety of shades and metallic textures that provide both superior color pay-off and smooth blendability. All of the artistry comes housed in a signature makeup kit with a rich black Artist Liner, perfect for precisely lining and defining for your unique look."
Kat Von D The Star Studded Look
"Leave it to Kat Von D to bring you the ultimate set. This limited-edition kit features three maven must-haves for a flawless look. The 24-hour mascara thickens the look of lashes as it coats from root to end. The infamous long-lasting, liquid tattoo liner features a super flexible tip that allows you to glide fluidly across the lash line for a variety of looks, resulting in an intensely pigmented, satin finish that's fade-proof, run-proof, and smear-proof. And the Studded Kiss Lipstick delivers a velvety finish and an intense, red (almost bloody-looking) hue. Now if that doesn't give you the shivers, I’m not sure what will."
I'm planning a trip to Asia in December and will be in Japan, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and China (Beijing only). I'll have the most free time in Beijing and am dying to see what pretties China has to offer! I don't speak Mandarin, and most of the Chinese sites are blocked (even the Chinese Sephora site!!!), so I'm struggling to come up with a game plan. Does anyone have any Beijing beauty shopping advice? P.S. If anyone knows where to get a killer blowout in Beijing, you'd be my hero
It's Thanksgiving for us Canadians! I had my Thanksgiving dinner yestarday and omg, was it ever delicious!!! I'm super thankful for my family (both blood related and non), my awesome reptiles, my boyfriend, a roof over my head and an abundance of food. As well as finally figuring out what I want to go to school for! My favourite food items from Thanksgiving is the turkey, gravy, stuffing and pumpkin pie! What are you thankful for? And what are your favourite things from Thanksgiving dinner? Happy Thanksgiving Canada!
What a talent and what a broad. She had such an amazing voice and paid awesome tribute to those who laid the roots for all kinds of music genres.. And had an understanding of what was going on in the world that not many had at the time. Even though she was from Texas, she made San Francisco her home and whenever you think of the Summer of '69 and the Monterey Pop Festival, she's one of the first that comes to people's minds. Her influences are my influences and she paid tribute to one of my favorites by providing Bessie Smith a headstone for her final resting place. What a thankless honor to place a marking on a woman's grave that had been dead for 33 years and so sad that Janis Joplin died two months after. Janis Joplin and Bessie Smith will never stop singing. Rest in peace.
I am a sad makeup junkie; there is no place in my apartment for even a tiny vanity table. (Except the living room, and for some reason my husband doesn't think the living room should be covered in eyeshadow pots unless he also gets to leave computer parts all over it.) So my entire stash is in travel bags and cases. I'd love to get some more organizing ideas and give my OCD an excuse to play with the makeup. I just bought a sort of train case thing - it's like a soft-sided large train case - for my big main stash, and then there's the 'everyday' bag, the 'emergency glamour' aka 'party started five minutes ago do something fast' bag, and the 'summer travel' bag where I keep those weird colors I only wear in summer and the weird products I only wear when it's hot. (I live in nice cold climate, but people keep getting married in July in super hot humid weather places, so I keep a stash of sunscreen-proof no-melt summer colors in a travel bag). And then there's the hair elastics I use to keep eyeliner pencils in bundles, things like that. That's helpful to me in the smaller bags especially. I don't know how people can cope with a whole face worth of stuff just tossed in randomly in one big compartment! In my old bag, I had things in clear plastic zipper bags - nothing fancy, just sandwich bag things - by category and then by color, so all the eye colors were on the left, and I could grab one bag for 'green' or whatever. I've partly weaned myself off the bags now that I have the new train case thing. I should mention that while I'm not a MUA I do a little makeup help for friends, and I also go to a lot of 'fan' science fiction conventions and hang out with people who make massive costumes. So while most of my stash is 'regular' makeup, there's a fair chunk of stage makeup, Ben Nye, and crazy color stuff in there too in case I need to do makeup for a friend's costume. So while I do kinda covet those MUA rolling-suitcase built-in lighted-vanity cases, I don't *think* I'm quite at that stage yet! (Although it would solve that lack of a vanity problem!) What do the travelling people do to keep their stashes organized? How do you sort things? It's probably just my OCD acting up a little, but I feel like I've missed something super obvious about how to sort out makeup when it isn't all over your vanity table.
This is on GlamGlow's FB and twitter. Wouldn't let me post links here, GLAMGLOW is running a promo to celebrate the founder's birthday! I thought is was a pretty amazing offer and grabbed it yesterday! For the first 400 US customers both promo codes are still available. A FULL SIZE BRIGHTMUD with POWERMUD purchase! Promo is BRIGHTPOWER. Or $59 off POWERMUD PRO (extra large powermud only available through glamglow), thought I would let everyone know! Both promos are still available!
Canadian shoppers! Remember how annoying it was when we found out that Sephora is no longer on the Canadian ebates site? It's back now! 4% cash back Enjoy!! Kinda sucks that it took them this long to have it back since I bought $300+ purchase over the last month, and could really do with the 4-8% cash back! Well at least it's back now
I've always use online batch code website to check manufacture dates for my skincare/makeup products but today I called Clinique about a serum and they told me that that's not how their system works. For example, I have a serum with the batch code B81 and it comes out as a manufacture date of August 2011. However, Clinique customer service called the supply line and said the item still has a shelf life of two years left. If you're knowledgeable on this topic, please let me know your thoughts
My SIL is a nanny for the director of a local spa and she just unloaded a ton of product and samples on her. She was awesome enough to split the haul and just brought me a goodie bag! Looks like I'll be having some fun!
I always thought I did an okay job matching my foundation shades- weather in a drugstore or in a sephora. I would always swatch on my jawline and pick which one I thought matched the best. Last week, for the first time, I had the Color IQ done at a Sephora near me and holy crap I will never ever try to match my foundation on my own again. The Color IQ match really did make a huuuge difference. My face looked flawless after the right color and foundation was applied. Once my lovely tan fades (unfortunately) I will be back (albeit paler) to get my new color IQ!
