Happy Thanksgiving and more!
Hi, All!   I wanted to wish my fellow BTers a very happy turkey day!!!  Also, I wanted to say that I'm thankful for my family, friends, and the best thing I found this year:  Nars Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base!   No more oily lids for me.  Woo hoo!   What are you thankful for?

Time management Tact
I keep my living room and bed room clocks 5 minutes ahead of actual time. Although I know these are ahead still it helps me manage the early morning rush to get kids ready for school and hubby for job and kids are always ready to leave 5 minutes earlier than their pickup time and we have a few extra minutes to deal with any unexpected situation. I wonder how many of you do same and keep some of the clocks ahead.

How do married people deal with holidays?
This is a serious question. My family loves holidays.... especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've always loved this time of year. I'm recently engaged and right now I feel like everyone is mad at me. How do couples split up the family time during the holidays without making everyone feel shortchanged? For Thanksgiving-- my mom is mad that we're leaving early and my future mother in law is upset that we're coming late. Should we just split up and go to our own family celebrations without each other? What are we supposed to do at Christmas? What happens if we have kids? My family is in Philly. His is in DC. We both reside in Maryland. Do we just spend holidays riding up and down the interstate? I just feel sad. I don't like making problems in the middle of something that is supposed to be fun but I really don't know what to do.

How do you celebrate?
With the holidays coming up (Christmas is a month away as of today!), I thought we could all share what we celebrate and how we do it, and if there's anything on our wish list (whether as a gift or taking advantage of the sales).    I was raised Christian so we celebrate Christmas, and we try to put most of the emphasis on spending time with loved ones and giving to those in need. We sponsor a family or two that are in need, and give them gifts (that include both needs and wants), and even sometimes invite them over for Christmas dinner.   Since my daughter is almost 4, I'm trying to show her that there's more to the season than just getting toys. My goal is to get her to pick out toys she hasn't played with and donate them herself, as well as pick one of her brand new Christmas toys to give, once she opens them all. I also decided to get her things that encourage more creativity: an art desk with drawers for supplies, some dress up clothes including superhero, elsa, and doctor, books, and a snowman/snow fort kit.    For those who give gifts, I've told them to either put some money away for my daughter's tuition fund, donate it, or go on a "date", like catch up over a drink, dinner, movie, museum, etc.    My good friend is Jewish and she has invited my daughter and I to celebrate Chanukah with her and her family this year. I don't know much about it, but I'm really excited to learn and honoured to be included!   So... what about you?

the small things of life
Feeling under the weather, lucky to still be able to go to my mom and get pampered. As I was laying on her bed I could hear her doing her nightime skin routine. The products she bought on the 20 percent  sale. The fab skincare set and claudiale beauty elixir. It made me smile and felt happy for her. She is really liking this set. I asked her if she noticed a change in skin and she said it looks like she has.    I just wanted to share a little moment that one not might think too much about but sometimes you realize its little moments that often have a big impact in your life. Memories although small will last a lifetime,

Post your peeves here!
I got cut ahead of in the grocery line (again!) today, and while I was fuming, got to thinking of what bad behaviors of people really get me going.  Feel free to add your favorite pet peeves.   No particular order 1- People who cut ahead of you in line, especially when you've been waiting awhile, or you are running late and don't need to be later. 2- People who go through the express 10 items or less lane with a half cart full of stuff. Taking forever to check out due to trying to use expired coupons or coupons for stuff they didn't purchase gets my goat too. 3-People who act like they know it all (extra credit to those horses-patooties who really don't know but act like they do!) 4-Pests who take up the only 2 parking spaces by parking in both with their car, right near the store on a rainy day so I have to walk a huge distance and get soaked.   Going to end now to give everyone else a chance!

Secret commercial
Okay I know this isn't sephora related but I have to get it off my chest. I just watched a secret deodorant commercial. It had two women in an interview wearing headphones. The headphones played louder music for the smellier you are. Of course they have the attractive (or in societies eyes at least) woman not smelling, but the heavier less attractive one has music blasting. Funny. Not. I wish I knew how to upload on my mini iPad but just look it up...I feel like that commercial was just ridiculous.

Are you "trialing" a new product ? Want to talk about it ?
trying new products can be...overwhelming. do you love a product because it works ? can you tell right away if it's performing the way you want it to ? sometimes i'm so happy to finally try something and let my enthusiasm blind my  actual  impression of it (at least at first )   it takes time to come to proper conclusions ! particularly when it comes to skincare, but makeup too.   so here's a thread where we can discuss our experiences while trying a product  for a first time. it can also be a place that people can reference if they're considering a new product.   right now i'm trying a sample of the REN v-cense night cream. i've only used it for 2 nights so far, but i LOVE IT. i love it so much i'm tempted to go ahead and grab it up, but i need to make sure it doesn't break me out over time (it contains shea butter which *can* be a breakout trigger for me, but not necessarily). it smells of frankincense which i adore, but i know for some people would be a turn off.   i'm also checking out the VICHY aqualia thermal serum. i really love the CAUDALIE vinosource s.o.s. thirst quenching serum, and prefer the texture of it to the VICHY, but think the caudalie may break me out slightly (i also was probably overusing it...i was very enthusiastic). so i'm just trying to figure out which i prefer.   how about you ?

Now that the weather is getting colder (in most places) more of us are switching to hot tea, coco, etc. So lets share - who is drinking what (from teas, to coffees to even wines, etc), post a pic if you would like ; other wise just specify the name of your beverage  and continue to enjoy it     My husband woke me up with a hot tea  for breakfast. I swear I saw a thread with a title like this today, but now I can't find it. If this is a duplicate sorry...   Keeping with the other threads of 5 things...I thought this would be fun. What are your 5 favorite music artists/bands?   I don't listen to much new music, I'm usually stuck in the 40's to 60's, but I've found a few new artists/bands I like.   1. Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings 2. Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators 3. Black Joe Lewis & The Honeybears 4. The Black Keys 5. Fleet Foxes

.Show us your unicorns!!!!
with all the limited edition items that are released and the shark frenzies that follow, I'm interested in seeing what items my fellow BTers have snagged over the years that are now those coveted hard to find unicorns.  Those beautiful things we wanted but missed out on.   Basically, I want to see pictures of those Beauties I cannot have, just like I wznna see pictures of those hunky men in harlequin romance novels I can never have.   Running to grab a box of tissues and some popcorn!   Oh and as a sneak preview, here's my first self-deemed unicorn.  This picture is from the Omotesando cosmetic boutique.  The blusher in the middle is the real unicorn.  It was only available at this one store location to celebrate its opening.  I went in to snag one for someone else and they were sold out.  See the sold out sticker?   They sold out in a week and STILL had the darn set on display one month later!!!  Why????

Makeup you rarely use
Are there any types of makeup you just don't like? I don't mean a particular brand, but just an entire type. For example, I stopped buying lipstick when I realized that I almost never choose to wear it. I love stains and balms and glosses, but lip color in stick form is just not my thing.   Another thing I don't wear too often is powder blush. I wear blush nearly every day, but it's usually a cheek stain, because I think cheek stains both look and feel better on my dry skin.   So do you all have any quirky dislikes like I do?

Peach Fuzz-Yes I read through old threads, but still have questions
Ok, let me start off by saying PLEASE don't tell me not to, etc.   For the past 6 months (yes 6), I have been researching peach fuzz, vellus hair to terminal hair, effective treatments, etc. I have read 99% of the  informed  ( I say informed because ones against it merely stated they never actually tried it, but it would do this and that to your hair and blah blah) say they shave with a tinkle razor in downward short strokes.    Just out of curiosity, what women here shave the peach fuzz on cheeks and what was your personal experience? How long do you go between each shaving? Also, I read how amazing this is for exfoliating. I'm curious about that too.

Your longest tenured product?
In a market flooded with options, what has lasted the test of time? Bonus points if it's still your favorite/go-to/HG product.    For me, I think it's Aveda Hand Relief. Has anybody had any experience with Scentsy products? Are they worth it?
I know this is extremely non-make-up related but in hopes of getting some feedback, I'm asking you all - Have you used Scentsy products before? Do they work as well as they say they do? I have a glade element warmer and with it, I used the glade wax cubes - but they lose their smell super quick and don't travel well (i'll only be able to smell it if i walk up to it )  I'm thinking of placing a Scentsy order but I don't want to waste my money as they are not cheap.    Thanks everyone!
