Ok random topic xD But one of my friends came up too me in the morning and asked me if I plucked my eyebrows so we started talking about that. She said she did it once but then stopped because it hurt and then it grew back. Honestly when I do it , it doesn't hurt at all. I did it last year during summer break when my mom was in a different country, so I didn't have permission. ( don't worry she was shocked at first but then said I did a good job) I always do mine and never go to the stylist so they'll do it for me. That just seems pointless to me if its growing back in two days. Here are the questions - Do you like your eyebrows??? - what age did you start plucking them? - Permission or not? C:
It's coming soon! I'm debating whether or not I should.... I do want some sephora pro brushes, but at the same time... the lorac pro palette looks pretty... but at the same time... I shouldn't *le sigh* my thinking is, I already spent the money to hit rouge during black friday and the spending count resets every year, so I should just save up my dollars to spend for the next calendar year to make it at least to vib in 2015. My wallet and my good conscience fairy (whom I've silenced with duct tape and rope ties) are silently pleading no.
I am a book lover! I would rather read than do anything else! So just outta curiosity, What are you ladies (and gentleman) reading? What's your favorite genre? I just finished Blood Vivicani by Beckett And I am starting a reread of The song of Ice and Fire (the game of thrones series) My favorite genre by far is horror and Fantasy.
I don't understand why people think I'm mean if I'm just being myself. Is it because I'm an introvert? Have darker interests? Or because I dresss in all black? It's probably that and because I'm quite the honest person, I'm not sugar-coating anything, that just being a dishonest person. I guess I'll always have to deal with it since I'm always getting made fun of. Has something like this happened to you?
We swatched Bite Beauty's Best Bite Set to see how the color looked on different skintones. What do you think?
Do you have a swatch of this set? Post a pic in the thread below!

So today I was working on a project for a class I'm taking where the assignment was to take 3 pictures and compare them to pictures already presented to us using photography terms etc etc etc. ANYWAYS, I decided to take pictures of beauty products because I have a lot of them and I figured I could make them work. And I wanted to share them with you! The nail polish one isn't my favorite but it served its purpose. Let me know what you think!
So I'd like to maintain a board for the Canadian customers. A place where we can share our events, promos, problems etc. I sometimes see deals and info for Canadians and rather then posting a new convo all the time maybe we can just share on this board. I think it would be easier to communicate with each other if we only had one board to follow. - I recently posted that Nail Polish Canada has free shipping on any orders for a limited time. - I forgot to mention that The Bay will be hosting Beauty Gala's this coming week. You have to buy a ticket but out of the 10$ 2 goes to charity and 8 towards your purchase. Some counters give free stuff when you buy the ticket from them. You get your make-up done too at that counter I'm going and very excited about it! EDITED: Anyone interested in getting Tonymoly products you can contact them via their Canadian Facebook page to place an order. 5$ shipping, free over purchases 50$. I think they have a store in Pacific Mall in Markham ON
The site worked SO WELL this year! I got into the site and had a completed order at 12:01 EST!!! Last year it took me an HOUR to order on the site. Anyways, I grabbed the Kate Somerville, Ole Henriksen, and the Art of Shaving $10 deals. Three presents/stocking stuffers down on my list! What did everyone else get?
So, I'm in the midst of the college application process and I was writing essays for Brown U and one of the questions posed was in regard to a community that I valued and I started my essay by mentioning Sephora's Beauty Talk. ^.^ You ladies mean a lot to me if you sneak into my applications to Ivy Leauge schools!
In the tradition of BT, and because who doesn't love a good haul? I saw that beautytester provided Notorious November for us, so I wanted to continue with the alliteration...so many options for December. I debated decadent, delicious, divine...dangerous won out in the end because with sales all over the freaking place, it seems the most fitting! My wallet hates me right now Here's what I got when I went home over Thanksgiving weekend: Eve Lom cleanser (So many raves, so many rants...what do YOU think? I don't have an opinion yet, it's too early) Buxom Lashliner in Leatherette (My first gel eyeliner!) YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in Pink in Confidence (New MLBB, love this!) Dior Crème de Rose (Repurchase. Best lip balm ever, period.) Laura Mercier Artist's Palette (I agree with the hype on this palette, and I'm in love with African Violet, which you can purchase separately) Art of Shaving Starter Kit (One of the Black Friday $10 deal for my boyfriend ) So, what's on your wish list--and on your vanity--this December?
I'm on the hunt for whole-grain bread that doesn't have the texture of sand lol. I've found that I have to have at least a little bit of carbs in my diet or else I feel like poo. (Weak, shaky, tired) Boo urns So any suggestions for a healthy brand of bread? (must be sold in Canada lol)
So I've come to love all of you in the short time I've been here, but the amount of complaining that I'm seeing over the $20 off of $50 coupon not being sent out yet is getting a little riduculous. Yes, I understand it's not fair for those of us who haven't gotten emails yet when people have had physical cards for days now. Yes, I understand Sephora needs to get their act together and be on top of these things. Yes, I know a lot of people want to snag items online before they sell out. And yes, I know Sephora has been MAJORLY slacking lately in a lot of peoples eyes and that's not helping with the anxiety. But it's not even noon yet (EST anyway) the sale JUST started today. Just wait a littttle while longer, give it until at least midday (2pm-3pm seems adequate) before going off on a rampage. Or at least keep all complaing into one thread instead of starting a few threads for the same problem.
As I sat mixing up my two primers this morning, I wondered how many of you have a cosmetic cocktail that is all your own? We are like mad scientists looking for just the right formula.... Oh the joy of discovering that 2 or 3 (or 4) good products mixed together make a truly GREAT product. Then I thought "let's swap recipes!" I'll start: 1. Benefit's Porefessional + Laura Mercier's radiance primer= my complexion is perfection! 2. One layer each in this order: Maybelline full & soft mascara+ Stila Major Major lash + Smashbox full exposure mascara= lashes I love! 3. Kenzo Flower perfume + Tokyo Milk Dark Everything & Nothing= a scent that's the perfect mix of orange, powder and flower. It's my jam. lol I know some of us consider these our most closely guarded secrets, but if you can't tell the girls on here, who could you tell? Also feel free to share any recipes for disaster you have stumbled across. Help the rest of us learn! Let's see if we can't create our own special BT "recipe book." Alright ladies, spill!
Do you like playing PC games? Know someone that love PC games? Would like to support Indie game developer and give to charity all at once? I found the perfect website! I recently found this website called " Humble Bundle" where they have packs of game for almost nothing, and you choose where the money you donate goes! The whole plan of Humble bundle is that, you donate whatever money you want, if you donate 1$, you get 3 games but if you donate the average of money other peoples donate, you get 3 extra games! The games can be redeemed in a minute on steam! Note that you need steam or window to get the games, if you give the games as a gift, also make sure the person got steam! (Steam is a downloadable program where you can play games on any computers you want!) At the moment you can get a bundle of 165$ worth of games for 4.12$! It really is a good deal! And at the moment they sold for a total of 1.2M *divided in charity, developer and website* Which is really great! It can be a fun gift for someone that love PC games! I personally support what they are doing, because "non physical games" cost nothing to make, so its easy to sell them and its a great idea that the money goes for a charity its a great little gift idea for that geek friend ! Hours and hours of fun <3 (I've tested it more than once, it really does work! Its not a scam!)
Hey girls, So I couldn't contain my feeling of joy when I heard that the hospital I work for has just recently opened a Transgender Youth Clinic. It's the first clinic in Toronto to be devoted to dealing with patients undergoing a gender transition. In a city like Toronto we don't have a whole lot of resources available for those who need the help to transition properly without ridicule. I'm just so thankful that they've finally done this and that these children can get the help they truly need. If I could get a job transfer to work with these youth I would do it in a heartbeat. I wouldn't want to see them go through the same struggles I did when I was transitioning. Anyways I just thought I would share this great news because this is one thing I truly feel happy about right now :-D !!
Wowie! It feels like I missed a bazillion heart parties in the blink of an eye (granted, it may have been a month-long "blink"). Instead of throwing a bunch and have it get complicated, I'm throwing a MEGA SUPER party for the thousanders (yes, that's a word in Beautytester's book) that haven't had their party yet (fashionably late, yes?) CONGRADULATIONS to Moregun89 for 1000+ hearts! Cheers to fellow computer security nerd with expensive skincare taste, lol, and thanks for that tip for fixing my sick computer btw. =D CONGRADULATIONS to Kalex for 3000+ hearts! I'm so used to that Egyptian sculpture with the hat thing you had for your profile forever that I was having trouble recognizing you for a while, lol. CONGRADULATIONS to Roxystar4 for 3000+ hearts! And for humoring my indecisive debates over Dior eyeshadows. No Golden Flower for me, but next time, definitely next time. =P CONGRADULATIONS to Rikkie for 4000+ hearts! I can't imagine the work that goes into checking every.single.item on the promo/perk thread. If you ever stop maintaining it, there's gonna be mutiny on BT I tell yeh. =O CONGRADULATIONS to Prettyinpa for 8000+ hearts! Save the best for last of course. One of the first person that welcomed me into BT and always there to provide some level headed advice. And I thought your name was Inpa (as in Pretty Inpa) for the longest time (it's Pretty-in-PA). And I remember you mentioning you own horses. Lol, if you live in Pittsburgh close to me, I'm totally gonna go play with your horses nxt time I'm in town. XD CHEERS to more helpful and fun posts to come! and happy holidays! ps. ack! this reminds me of the other thing I was going to re-remind the mods. Font color/size don't show up, plz fix iiiiiit. >.<
Hi everyone. I tried looking up threads here about upcoming traveling boxes, but I think they all died down and I can't find any new ones. If anyone knows of an upcoming traveling box please let me know. If not, then I really want to be part of one. I just don't have enough to start, and I don't want the second person to be disappointed. I'll help you organize if you have enough to start one and know the business behind it! I'm thinking drugstore free, unless someone later in the list asks for it specifically. We'll get the finer details after I get some feedback, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont let this post die without an active list. I'll gladly let someone take over too. I may not know enough to run one anyways
Since I know you girls are the smartest, prettiest, best shoppers around, I need some help. My mom, sister, and I will be making a last minute trip to D.C. this weekend for a funeral. I'm checking out online getting an idea of what is more economical: driving or flying from NH/Boston. Can any of you deal hunters help? It would be about an 8.5 hour drive without traffic, or a 1 hour and 15 minute plane ride. Time is a factor, but we are more concerned with the cost. If we fly, all we will need is a rental car for the day. If we drive, we will pay gas and tolls, a hotel for one or two nights, and food.
Just curious for those that shopped online Thanksgiving and Black Friday, what companies exceeded, met or fell behind your expectations as far as shipping times? For me, Victoria's Secret far exceeded in my opinion. It was delivered on Monday! Ole Henriksen delivered today, from the west coast! (the free gift bag is worthy!) Sephora, Smashbox and Macy's met normal delivery times because they will arrive tomorrow.(in Sephora's case exceeded a bit because of the possible shipping delay noted on the web site) Coach, I'm a bit disappointed. It should arrive tomorrow but should have been here no later than today. I am so happy that I am done with all of my Christmas shopping. I just need to get everything wrapped!
Hello ladies, I had a concern/complain regarding online orders. During our checkout, we are only allowed to use ONE CODE to get something for free, I think we should receive at least TWO CODES. What are your opinions?
i was just wondering what kind of fears people have. I have a TON of fears, including heavy rain + thunder, spiders, and crowds of people (anxiety). Also, how do you guys cope with your fears? What kinds of things comfort you?
Have you ever had a dream about a beauty product? Do tell... I dreamed recently that I got a big compact, like the recent Guy Bourdin NARS Blush, but it was filled with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders, and each shade was perfect for something, one was like a powder foundation, one contoured, one highlighted, one a blush, another a beautiful finishing powder. I woke up wishing it was real. Now I want to swatch them! 2nd dream. When I first read about the Ladurée Petal Blush, I dreamed I had it, stored in the pretty box. Every time I opened it, the petals floated/flew up and brushed against my cheeks, dusting them perfectly with blush, and while doing so made a pretty chiming noise, much like a wind-up music box.
I know its been a few days but I haven't got around to say anything about Paul Walker. I know he is a famous person and I never personally met him but hearing what happened to him brought tears to my eyes. I too have lost a younger brother due to a hit and run, my in laws a year later in a really bad car accident. So vehicles, death and loved ones have been part of my life for the past 2 years. So hearing what happened to Paul Walker hit home. I KNOW exactly how his family feels... "Why?" My older brother would always tell me growing up, specially when I was learning how to drive, "A car is the most dangerous weapon..." And since the day that my little brother passed away...I can tell you that, that is true. I am a huge fan of the Fast & Furious movies...and was so excited for #7! Im not gunna lie I am more into Vin Diesel but Walker will always be a hottie! They had an interview shortly after #6 released and Vin Diesel said how they were planning to do as many as the fans would ask for...but NOW things wont be the same. They had already began filming #7 but not finished yet...and i heard they plan to release it anyway but it just wont be the same anymore. may he rest in peace.
I Have a couple 1) i was in track and field in high school and was wearing sweats over my shorts before my event started. When it was my time to compete, I threw off my sweats because I was pressed for time. Thought 'hmm... A little chilly tonight'... My friend's expression told me something was wrong so I looked down. Along with my sweats, I had taken off my shorts too, so all I had on were my red hello kitty boy short Underwear. In front of four different school teams. 2) i work as a receptionist at a korean dentist office every Saturday. I got the job through a friend to fill in for her while she went to study abroad in Korea for six months. Good pay and easy hour obligations. What could go wrong right?? Well since it is a korean dentistry, lots of korean people who only speak korean go there. let me just tell you now that my korean isn't that great. My Indian and Chinese roommates watch more korean dramas than I do (any number is higher than zero though) and part of my job is to call patients to remind them of their upcoming appointments. I had a good korean script going on ("Hi mr/mrs blah, you have an appt at blah blah on blah o'clock.") so it just became mindless to me as I chugged it out. Then one really busy day, I completely blanked out while I was making appointment reminder calls. instead of the usual script, it came out like "uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, 0_o hello..... You. O_O Have... An ... Uhhhhh appointment...... at blah o'clock. O_O .......thank you" after I hung up, I looked up to see all the patients in the waiting room, my manager, a nd a coworker staring at me. I excused myself to the bathroom and sat there ashamed 3)in the beginning of fall when people started wearing boots, I noticed that a lot of people had the same style of bootS, myself included. It was a typical day: I went to class wearing those boots, came back to my apartment, ate, lounged around, and went back to campus for work. After work, I was heading out of a building and I saw a girl wearing said boots. Thinking I'd be friendly, I went up to her and went "hey! Nice boots!" While smiling and pointing back and forth from her boots to my boots. For some reason the girl looked really confused so I pointed back and forth harder whilst still keeping that huge dumb smile on my face. The girl, still confused, goes "uhh.. Thanks?" And I went "you're welcome!" Deed done, I started to walk away smiling happily to myself until the realization kicked in. I was wearing different boots than this morning... Oh gawd... The girl was walking the same direction as I was.... So I road runner'd it all the way home. I was so embarrassed.
