Is this why in 2007 they've made a BEAUTY INSIDER a option when SEPHORA was open in US in 1998.
Hello BTers, I was getting a few more things while the 15% off is still active: UD Heavy Metal Liner in Spandex and Distortion, MUFE Travel Size loose HD powder, and YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Babydoll mascara. Everyone at the store seemed happy to help, but not in a pushy way. They were available for help and consultation, but left me alone to browse when I wanted to. I am almost out of my Shisedo Bio-Performance eye cream, and I want to see what else is out there. I got samples of Clinique All About Eyes Rich, NUDE Advanced Renewal Eye Complex, and Vinosource SOS Morning Eye Rescue. I just filled out the survey rating my Sephora visit. Here is what I added in the comment section: "Service was excellent at the Providence Place Mall Sephora today. The staff is great and happy to help. I am thinking of switching to another eye cream soon and Alora Lee was great about getting me samples to try. I liked having the product name and information printed out and stapled right to the sample bag as well. I have always gotten excellent service at this Sephora and I want to give the staff a shout-out."
Hi! I have a question regarding price adjustments. I purchased a Clarisonic Mia 2 on March 30th. I then received an email coupon for 15% off through April 10th. I called the 877 number and was told the only way to get a credit for the difference would be to return it and purchase it again with the coupon, since the coupon was not valid at the time of my purchase. Is there a way to do it without returning it? I also have a 20% off coupon from another retailer, but I would rather keep the product I already purchased. That $23 would really mean a lot to me =)
Of course, we've been hearing a few cruddy things about Sephora lately. Let's try to make a positive review here. So... besides the fact they forgot to give me a card to review and survey my make-up artist (or SA), I'd like to share my awesome experience at Powell St. Sephora. (Except, David, where are you?) Let's start. My artist was ok with pushing my appointment early because I forgot the time and online booking sucked! Anyway, so my artist is Tatiana and she did an awesome job. Mostly because A. She kinda read my mind onon the brands I would lean toward to: Guerlain and Givenchy. (I don't own anything from Givenchy, but I own a lot of Guerlain) I told her to do a natural look and she did exactly what I did, with a bit of a nice liner, from Tarte. She almost gave me Barbie pink lips, but ran to tone it down with a gloss that made my lips look like she used Garance from Guerlain's Rogue G with a glossy look. I don't remember the names of the products since I was so set on just getting the Guerlain Joli Teint, which I planned to get and my Maxi Lash waterproof on hold. (Easily over $50, even with the Chic Week coupon. Decided to go in for a makeover because I anticipated and planned to drop bucks) She did laugh when I said that I wasn't fussy and took 10 minutes to get ready: (brush teeth, brush hair, wash face, DONE.) and commented for someone who wasn't fussy I knew a bit about make-up (let's just say swimmers have to take make-up off all the time) Unfortunately, I once again, got the "you're in college? You look like a high schooler" comment. Sigh, why did my parents try to drown me in the Fountain of Youth? Then came the express checkout. Thank you to (associate that I didn't get your name) for being patient when my debit card didn't work and then giving me a handful of foil samples. There were some repeats, but she literally just grabbed a (random) handful of them, it seems like. And thank you Powell for putting my Guerlain Maxi Lash waterproof on hold since Friday morning! And your SAs make up looks are awesome and creative, especially with me seeing white lips, glitter lips and blue lips, but that is SF Powell for you! Also the SAs were nice and making sure my needs were catered to and watching a few SAs dance. The end result: Mom and Grandma approved! If only if my crush can see what I look like at the moment... although I don't think he would think it's me. (I don't know why the editor is making it horizontal. And yes, I realize my hair is covering up an eye, this is my anti-selfie. Usually if I take make-up selfies it's to showcase a make-up artist's work if it's great so people can go find them and ask for their work.) Off topic: I had mostly great customer experiences today shopping at other stores, except I kinda had to coax the Clinique counter at Macys to try to just increase the price of a moisturizer by $1 to get the GWP... Nordstrom gave me a deluxe sample of Laura Mercier's mascara (I just brought mascara, but thank you) after ordering my moisturizer from Philosophy (Cousin uses Clinique, I use Philosophy). Lush was nice too, but due to my debit card issue... I had to go and put that purchase off, but I will go to San Jose next week to swim anyway to get it. OH WHY DOES CHIC WEEK END ON FRIDAY AND NOT SATURDAY?!?
I am one of those people who lives at sephora and has obviously spent more than 50 dollars at a store at one time. I was unaware that i was able to get a 45 minute makeover with my purchase. prom is coming up and I made an appointment for that day. Do I still need to make a $50 purchase to get it?? I went 2 weeks ago and spent 80, it should still be in my purchase history
I know this question has been posted a million times but I haven't seen one from 2013. Anyways I bought some stuff a few days ago but was being rushed and didn't have time to give the associate my email address. How can I add that purchase to my VIB account?
...I should have taken the warning. I went to the Pentagon City store specifically to attend the Smashbox event. I made an appointment for a consultation as advised by the website. I had assumed it would be with a Smashbox rep, but I was a bit late due to traffic, so when a store MUA was brought over, I thought it was because the reps were busy with other customers (I assume the women in Smashbox tees were the reps, if so, one was flitting around the floor helping random people and the other was doing someone's makeup). The artist did a good job, and was quite knowledgable, but at the end when I was deciding what I wanted to purchase, she mentioned that I had to spend $50 since I had a consultation. The website did not say that the consultations were the "custom makeovers", and mentioned nothing about a spending limit. I had planned to spend at least that much anyway, but I felt like I was in a bait-and-switch situation. While debating the Full Exposure palette, a sales associate told me that if I decided to get it to let her know, because if I purchased a couple of items, I got a free gift. Sadly, I did not catch her name, and there were at least one other associate who looked very similar to her, so I was not sure which had spoken to me. I went to the register and mentioned the verbal offer, and the cashiers said they did not know anything about that but they would check. One returned and said she had spoken to the Smashbox rep and the offer was only if a customer purchased 5 items or $100+. There was a sample set listed on the website as an event bonus, with no mention of purchase requirements. I do not know if that is what the rep and associate were talking about as the free gift, but I did not receive it either way. One reason I made the appointment was because I wanted to try the products in the set, and figured one would be set aside for each appointment. Apparently not! Pentagon City is out of my way, and I came specifically for the event. I walked out with the eye BB cream I had wanted, a palette I got largely because I thought I would be eligible for an offer if I purchased it, and felt like I had just wasted an hour and a half. It may seem trivial to be annoyed about not getting deluxe samples, but that was the hook that brought me to the specific event and store. I also did not appreciate that the consultation came with strings but was not described as such. As I said, I had planned to spend that amount or more, but if a minimum purchase is required at events, it should be mentioned in the description. Between the no-show Smashbox samples, changing requirements for a free gift, and finding out my "personalized consultation" was actually a custom makeover with a purchase requirement, I am left with a bad taste in my mouth. I had to go to the Reston store to pick up a foundation (they were out at Pentagon City), and I ended up exchanging the palette for the foundation. I felt bad because Reston probably had to take the hit rather than Pentagon City, but I did not want to deal with the Pentagon store anymore. Many of the associates did not seem to know anything about the event, and I should not have to beg for things advertised on the website as being available at the store. This does not make me want to attend other events, and it certainly does not make me want to recommend events or that store. The sad thing is, if I had gotten my stupid little sample kit, the MUA had not said anything about the purchase requirement, and I had been given the full story about the free gift in the first place, I would have floated out quite pleased with the experience. Instead, I feel annoyed, like the store took advantage of me, and unhappy with Sephora and Smashbox.
I just came from my local Spring Social, and I wanted to share with you my thoughts. Although I'm a nurse now, I've personally worked retail while in college, so I kind of grasp what it takes to organize and pull off an event like this. Here's my take on it: 1) THANK YOU for recognizing the prestige of Rouge customers. From the gorgeous invitation in the mail to having an entirely private event apart from VIBs and regular customers, it did make me feel special and appreciated. 2) THANK YOU to all the Sephora store employees that had to come in early on a Sunday to host this. Working the hours/days of retail is never, ever easy, but my entire store made me feel like it was the very least they could do to honor us. 3) The discount was VERY appreciated. Truly, I wish it was 20 or 25%--more than VIBs are offered with your Friends & Family event every Fall, but I'll take any offer to save money. 4) The gift bag and samplers were a bit…spare. I would much rather have a whole free tube of mascara than 5-10 samplers of things that won't necessarily go with my skin. Everybody can always use mascara, and you don't have to worry about shades or skin types to give someone a gift they can actually use. Why not partner with 2 or 3 brands and give that as the gift with purchase at the Social? 5) ENCORE-ENCORE-ENCORE! We need these quarterly! Spring and Fall can revolve around new shade launches, while June and December could target specific seasonal needs for skin & body (ex: SPF, bronzer, waterproof makeup for Summer; extra hydration moisturizers/treatments, hand/body cream for drying Winter months). All in all, it was nice. Thank you for taking the time to read my feedback!
Mixed Sephora experience... Evidently I do have a love/hate relationship with my Sephora store. I've made a habit out of going on the weekends and evenings, since that's when the MUA whom I love, the Manager who is awesome, and a few other stellars work. This morning, I was running errands so complete dressed down in chucks, Levi's, t, cardi and scarf. My errand at Sephora included a returning one item and purchasing a few gifts. Guess what? Totally ignored. So I bumbled around trying to get the things on my list with no help, but one eye-roll, and then I met Michael. OMG I love him!!! We bonded over our 80s childhoods and our sadness over MAC becoming lackluster and he totally made my day by telling me I'd made his. Why so inconsistent? There were about as many MUA/SAs at the store as customers, and I'd see clumps of SAs in an aisle chatting away ... just left me irritated. The girl with whom I checked out was abrupt, then got quite and sweet once she saw I was rouge. Which kind of pissed me off. Again, shouldn't matter if I'm a first-time customer or a long-standing Rouge, customer service should be consistent and good. If I wasn't going for gifts (have to say, love the fragrance samplers) and MUFE, I would have turned around and gone to Nordstrom's. Whenever I go there, they make me feel welcome. They're not all over me, but I'm definitely not ignored. Oh, and they give me samples, too. Guess how many samples I got after dropping close to $200. Go on, guess. None.
I have recently discovered that Sephora doesn't accept international credit cards or billing addresses, that has confused me as I have used my debit card and billing address to purchase items in the past and even though both aren't American, and it has worked..... and with updating the billing address it does have all the countries of the world as an option to put down. So my question is, Has Sephora changed and is now accepting the non US billing addresses and credit cards or does it remain the same as before, and accepted me for an unknown reason?
I had a really great experience today in store. Lately my Sephora has been really hit or miss (mostly miss). They never have stuff I was to purchase in stock, the SA's are rude or annoying and they never seem to know what they're talking about. I walked in and was promptly greeted, she was able to answer my questions and help me out, and I was actually able to pick up some stuff I had gone for - even some awesome stuff on clearance! To top it all off I got the little VIB wristlet with five foil samples and a deluxe sample inside. The 15% off shopping pass never hurts either It really made my day, so I thought I would share! Keep it up Sephora!!
Hi!! I was just wondering how far in advance I need to book my makeup appointment for prom. It is in about two and a half weeks! Our local Sephora is pretty popular, so I want to make sure that I can get in on time. Thanks!!
When the mall opened in downtown Norfolk, VA, Sephora was one of the original stores but closed after 2 years. Now, 12 years later Sephora is coming back to the mall and I can't wait! What can I expect from the Opening? Are Beauty Insiders and VIBs treated to something special? Is there fanfare and parties? Anyone who has been to a store opening, let me know.
Hi, I want to order some products from the Sephora Spain website. The thing is that I got my VIB membership card in Canada and I'm not living there anymore. Also, I lost the card. Is it possible for me to buy from the Sephora Spain website using my Canadian account? I have some points that I definitely don't want to loose. And is there any way to know the card number in case i need to use it? Thanks!
I purchased the drybar flatiron less than a year ago and it stopped working yesterday. Nothing happened to it, it just won't turn on anymore. I read the reviews and apparently this happens to this product. Can I exchange it for another product at sephora? I don't have my receipt or the box but the purchase is listed in my VIB account.
Every time i try to order online, they tell me there is something wrong. I change the internet browsers, computers, and my cards and still can't order online. I use the same card and the same information on other stores and it works.
Ok, I just had to share how much I love the SiJCP close to me! I was bored this morning and browsing BT and saw someone post a question asking for a Nars Sheerglow shade that would be comparable to her Color IQ which happened to be the same as mine! I took everyone's recommendations and ran to SiJCP! As soon as I walked in the door I saw one Divergent set left so I grabbed that (of course), and the SA immediately said Hello and welcomed me to the store and asked me if I needed help. I told her why I was there and she immediately sat me down in the makeup chair and brought up my color match, Of course there wasn't a Nars Sheer glow specifically for my match so she went and pulled 5 different shades and started to match me up! Of course I ended up being Mont Blanc. I told her I would take it. She then asked me if there was anything else I wanted to sample today! I was shocked! I said, "well not really, I can't think of anything." She said, "primer, foundation, moisturizer, a lip color, eye shadow. I can do anything except mascara and eyeliner!" I was shocked! She ended up not having a bottle of the Mont Blanc in stock so she gave me 2 clam shells of sample to last me so she could order it for me and call me to come grab it! She really took a lot of time to really work with me and make sure that was the shade I needed/liked. Also, I had NO IDEA they could do eyeshadow samples
***UPDATE. The store manager actually emailed me and personally apologized and assured me that the associate had been reprimanded and has a goody bag for me to pick up. Thank you Sephora Store at The Green and to Cheryl and Paula, the manager and the lead at that store. ******update****** I called the Rouge line. Justine was very nice. Apologized, is forwarding the complaint to the district manager and gave me 100 points back that I lost. So she did make it better in a way. I just now know to definitely avoid the store. Ok, I don't often get mad but today at Sephora at The Green in Dayton Ohio, I reached my limit. 1st, I don't typically talk about how much I spend, I think it's in bad taste, I will make an exception this time. In the past month I have spent well over $1500 online. This is one of 2x times a year I restock things and replenish my collection. I received the items I ordered and as I was putting them away, I realize I had the items already or something I liked better. So I packed up those things I didn't want, and went to return the items to the store. About $380 worth. Several items for 50, 80, 75 each. The store closest to me sucks (that being the one at the Green), they act like you're bothering them if you ask questions,I have never had a good experience there, ever. But, I need to 'reorder my Wen so in stead of waiting 2 weeks, I sucked it up and went in. 1st the manager said I smelled like cigarettes so she couldnt take the items back, then she said my sephora account would be cancelled if I returned the items!!! I have never returned anything before, ever, and when I walked in, it was my intent to exchange somethings for Balenciaga Rosabotanica and my son went with me to get his Versace cologne. So really I was only returning about $200 worth. Then she refused to give me a Rouge card. Needless to say, I was mortified!! After the managers snotty comments, she just walked away. Leaving us standing there. I had to leave the store, I was about to explode. My son stayed in the store and just did a straight return back to my card for everything. The drive home take a an hour plus, I've been home almost 2 hours on top of that and . I'm still miffed. I did offer back the deluxe samples I got with the orders as well, but she said they couldn't take them they would just cancel my account, hence why I couldn't have the rouge card. I still qualify for it even after the return. I hate complaining but this store is a habitual offender for me. Grrr.
I'm going out of town with my boyfriend, I wanted to buy him a really nice cologne before we go because we will be on the road for 4 hours straight. Do they gift wrap at Sephora? I saw that they sell boxes for 4 dollars. Will I be able to get a sizing for the cologne I buy; and also will they wrap it for me?

I have had makeovers in the Jcpenny locations, but was wondering when you get a personal beauty consultation at an actual Sephora location are the makeovers done in private like an actual salon, or are you sill sitting out in the middle of the store?
