I have had makeovers in the Jcpenny locations, but was wondering when you get a personal beauty consultation at an actual Sephora location are the makeovers done in private like an actual salon, or are you sill sitting out in the middle of the store?
So I'm planning to visit some friends this Sat in the Boston area (weather permits, it is a long drive), and I'm kind of wondering does anyone have a favorite Sephora or Nordstrom in the area? Or any fun/good beauty events this weekend? I will be coming in from the Natick Mall direction (my first Sephora, aww, and fav as of now).
I know this question has been posted a million times but I haven't seen one from 2013. Anyways I bought some stuff a few days ago but was being rushed and didn't have time to give the associate my email address. How can I add that purchase to my VIB account?
Sephora need to randomly choose some of the VIB/ rouge to be mystery shoppers in the stores. Not the ones they frequent but different ones to see how they are treated. I will be the 1st to volunteer because i'm fed up with being misunderstood by some of these SA's!!! You wouldn't believe some of my horror stories. I wish I could secretly video and record some of my shopping experiences and send them to you. The sad thing is....I know I'm not the only one. Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Rant ahead! But it gets positive at the end. So yesterday I went into my local JCP Sephora [Springfield, VA] to get a color IQ done so I could find the proper BB cream/tinted moisturizer for my cruise and exchange a rollerball [thought it was the right one for my mom, but nope]. So I go in at about 3:45pm right after work, it had been a long day and my kids were being rougher then usual [I'm a teacher] and I figured buying something may make me feel better. When I get into the store the consultant [it's just one] is checking out a couple, and just kinda glances at me when she's done. An older woman comes in, buys something, and after that ordeal [which took about 15 minutes as she was...interesting] she finally said hello and asked if I needed anything. I told her I wanted a color IQ and she asked if I wouldn't mind waiting as it was almost time for her to get off and the next woman could help me. Ok, that's fine, no problem there. The problem comes when 15 minutes later the two of us are still just standing around not talking while I'm looking around. Plus, she gets on the phone and starts talking in Spanish about the customer who just bought the clarisonic. While you' are speaking another language, you probably still shouldn't be talking negatively about customers while a customer is in the store, just saying. The other woman comes in and the two of them start chatting immediately about the girls eye shadow, which is fine, took another 10 minutes, but whatever. So finally the new woman asks me if I'm ready for the IQ and I say yes. She does my IQ which is a different shade from last time [1R13 and it's now 1Y13], I tell her I want a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer and she tells me there aren't any on the list. She asks if I want to look at the list myself and I say sure and go to take a peek, this is when things get sour. The consultant that was helping me says, "I'll be right back." and goes to chat with the young woman who was supposed to be getting off. I wait, and I wait, and I wait, and I wait some more. Getting tired of waiting I go grab a tinted moisturizer in my old shade, something that matched my new shade [A BB cream that WAS on the list], applied them both, listened to them talk to a man frequented the store and looked great in his new powder apparently, tried on a lipstick, got the UD meltdown makeup remover, took everything off, waited a few more minutes, and left. No one said a thing to me, asked if I was ok, came back to check on me, nothing. Oh, and did I mention the manager walked in right before my color IQ started and was at the counter talking with the two ladies the entire time? And by talking to, I mean listening to the girl who was supposed to be getting off talk about a customer she had earlier that day. I left the store at 4:50, so the entire ordeal took about an hour. Where things get positive. Later that night I go to visit the Pentagon Sephora, this time bringing along my roller ball and old foundation to do an exchange. There I met the most awesome, or she's now on my list anyway, consultant ever, Elissa! She cleaned and moisturized my face prior to my color IQ [which no one had done the two times I had had it done before] and then took my number [2Y12]. Even after she was done though we talked and talked and talked. She loves internet brands, tumblr, and rock music, so we had a lot to talk about as I to love those things. When one of her frequent customers came in asking about acne stuff she didn't mind that I made suggestions to the girl at all and the three of us just had a really good time. Over all, she was amazeballs and I can't wait to go back and see her and talk to her. TLDR; Springfield, VA Sephora made me mad, went to Pentagon, had an awesome experience.
On the fb page there were special brand events and I was wondering will there be anymore luxe events in ny? I missed out on them since its on a page I didn't know existed and not listed on this website under store events. FYI the luxe events have special gifts from the brand for rouge members...though I'm sure most of us had no clue.
******update****** I called the Rouge line. Justine was very nice. Apologized, is forwarding the complaint to the district manager and gave me 100 points back that I lost. So she did make it better in a way. I just now know to definitely avoid the store. Ok, I don't often get mad but today at Sephora at The Green in Dayton Ohio, I reached my limit. 1st, I don't typically talk about how much I spend, I think it's in bad taste, I will make an exception this time. In the past month I have spent well over $1500 online. This is one of 2x times a year I restock things and replenish my collection. I received the items I ordered and as I was putting them away, I realize I had the items already or something I liked better. So I packed up those things I didn't want, and went to return the items to the store. About $380 worth. Several items for 50, 80, 75 each. The store closest to me sucks (that being the one at the Green), they act like you're bothering them if you ask questions,I have never had a good experience there, ever. But, I need to 'reorder my Wen so in stead of waiting 2 weeks, I sucked it up and went in. 1st the manager said I smelled like cigarettes so she couldnt take the items back, then she said my sephora account would be cancelled if I returned the items!!! I have never returned anything before, ever, and when I walked in, it was my intent to exchange somethings for Balenciaga Rosabotanica and my son went with me to get his Versace cologne. So really I was only returning about $200 worth. Then she refused to give me a Rouge card. Needless to say, I was mortified!! After the managers snotty comments, she just walked away. Leaving us standing there. I had to leave the store, I was about to explode. My son stayed in the store and just did a straight return back to my card for everything. The drive home take a an hour plus, I've been home almost 2 hours on top of that and . I'm still miffed. I did offer back the deluxe samples I got with the orders as well, but she said they couldn't take them they would just cancel my account, hence why I couldn't have the rouge card. I still qualify for it even after the return. I hate complaining but this store is a habitual offender for me. Grrr.
I'm so annoyed. I'm low on cash this week and I was willing to return an unopened item I purchased from Sephora last week just to have a little cash and I'll repurchase later. I went to return the item and she said she's have to give a giftcard back because my debit card was swiped as credit. I wasn't conscious of the "credit" purchase at the time but I'm so stinkin' frustrated. Sorry had to vent somewhere!
I received 2 gifts from a friend. I dont want either of them and want to exchange it for something I prefer. Will Sephora allow me to return and exchange or receive store credit even though I dont have any receipt? also, one of the items is broken! I received it slightly broken and dont know why or how that happened but its brand new.
Anyone else sign-up for the Urban Decay makeover(?) event on Feb 15th & 16th? I exchanged something I bought online for a different color in a Sephora inside JCP yesterday and the SA asked me if I wanted to go to their event 2/15 or 2/16 for a makeover w/Urban Decay & get free gift for participating. Anyone else sign-up?? I figured this would be a good opportunity to try the Naked palettes since that is what they said they will be using.
On a positive note I just wanted to share that I had a super great in-store experience in Troy, MI (Somerset) last night at Sephora. Briana helped me at the register and she was so friendly and polite and helpful. I had two online returns from different orders, PLUS a gift return without receipt. She had zero weird/negative attitude about returns, just cheerfully processed them according to the guidelines, and was nice and polite (even beyond polite - friendly) the whole time. No dirty looks, no silent treatment, no attitude or lecture about return policy, etc. Sometimes even when you're within the policy it seems the person at the register wants to go over it, lecture, make you feel weird about returning, etc. Instead this was just quick and painless! Oh my gosh it was such a relief - I usually shop online and not in-store (because not everyone is so nice!). But I will look forward to going back to spend my holiday gift cards in store if she is there! Anyway - thanks and just wanted to share a positive experience!
I bought a item today as a gift for my sister and got 3 free samples with it ... I got home and my sister told me she doesn't want it anymore so I have to return it! My Question is: Do I need to give the 3 samples back alongside the return??
I have visited quite a few Sephora stores in Canada and US. Sephora Toronto Bloor st Store is officially my favourite store. All the SAs are attentive and friendly. Now I will share my experience today. I visited Sephora to look for some new shampoo and also return an eyeliner I received as a gift. As soon as I reached the hair care section, one of the SAs came up to me and asked if I needed any help. I told him my concern about my hair, he recommended me a hair treatment and shampoo. I was a little hesitate to try the hair treatment on my hair because it is not a leave-in product. So the SA offered to show me by putting the products on his own hair and told me how it works. I told him the shampoo I'm currently using, he shared his honest opinion and recommended me something cheaper. Then he gave me a sample of the shampoo (not in the regular small container, but rather he used the sealed plastic bag because he said the small container wouldn't be enough for my long hair). I really appreciate his thoughtful customer service!! When I went the cashier to return the eyeliner, I didn't have the packaging, the cashier had to look it up for me. The system is rather slow, so she kept apologizing for taking so long and recommended some other best-selling eyeliners if I wanted to try. She's being so polite and lovely Overall, it was such a great experience. If you are in Toronto, be sure to visit this store
I hate to be one of those people who say I'm never shopping at Sephora again Blah blah blah. But I have just had the most HORRID experience at my local SIJCP store. I recently bought the Kat Von D lock it tattoo foundation online (42 no longer available in stores). Needless to say this foundation did not play nice with my dry skin so I headed to my local sephora packing slip in hand to return/find something different. However the associate wouldn't let me do it!! She was so snotty and rude to me I almost cried right there at checkout. I gave her my reciept and the foundation (still in the box) and she asked for my license and proceeded to tell me it wouldn't accept my return because I have returned too many items with no receipt.(she was acting so superior like I was some kind of clepto or scum of the earth) What?? Imagine my confusion because 1. I did in fact have my receipt in hand and 2. I have never returned something without the packing slip. She proceeded to inform me that the PACKING SLIP IS NOT A RECIEPT and therefore had to be processed as a return with no reciept. SInce I am not near a free standing sephora every online order I return goes back to this SIJCP store. SO needless to say I was unable to complete the return. I was so humiliated I turned and high tailed it out of there and didn't even get to redeem my $15 off of $50 that expires today. Up until now I have been a loyal Sephora customerr because of their generous return policy and I could have confidence that if I ordered something online and the product didn't work for me I could bring it back. Apparently is no longer the case..... Sorry for the super long rant, but I'm just so upset right now
I went into a Sephora today and was asking a SA a couple questions about a primer I wanted to try out as I was gearing up to ask for a sample of it when -- shocker -- she asked me whether I wanted a sample of it! This is the second time in one week that I was asked if I wanted a sample before I could ask for one! (And these were both stores that previously had SAs who did not offer me samples and I had to ask, so I am assuming there was some sort of meeting where they were told they should ask customers if they want samples). Thanks Sephora -- makes my shopping experience so much nicer!
Hey y'all, My birthday is coming up and I was thinking bout going to Sephora for a makeover.... I have never used very good makeup product before and I was wonder how many of y'all found the makeover to be helpful? Thanks, Jessie
So, i went into a Sephora in JCPenny for the first time the other day--am I crazy or is pricing completely different? I'm not refering to sale items, but a few current, hot products I found for less than the price online. Is this typical?
We have lots of negative posts about Sephora in store, and I don't blame them at all. We need to vent. But I thought maybe in turn I would start a GOOD one. Things we like, show anyone head up who is reading that it can be done, and what to strive for all over. For me, today I went into my store was greeted by someone, asked if they could help. I said I wanted to see the lightest foundations they had. So she took me around to 4 we tested them on my hands, two I didnt like based on that. Then she asked me if there was anything else. Though I was scared I asked if I could possibly get samples of the two I did like, and she said oh of course, I will go make those up for you. So I got to keep looking around the store and she found me when she was done. I liked that a few others did ask me if I needed anything but I was followed around the store by someone in particular. Once I had gotten home I check because I remember someone saying something about the size of the samples. Though my jars? whatever we call them are not full there is def enough for me to use for 4-5 days maybe even a week since I started using the BBlender and I find I use way less product.
I just scheduled a 90 minute appt for this Wed., Jan. 22. I completed the questionaire and then the online system went back to the beginning again asking me to complete the questionaire. Is there a way I can confirm that my appointment and questionaire answers indeed went through? Thank you. (Photo of my current makeup storage).
I have recently discovered that Sephora doesn't accept international credit cards or billing addresses, that has confused me as I have used my debit card and billing address to purchase items in the past and even though both aren't American, and it has worked..... and with updating the billing address it does have all the countries of the world as an option to put down. So my question is, Has Sephora changed and is now accepting the non US billing addresses and credit cards or does it remain the same as before, and accepted me for an unknown reason?
I havent gone to Sephora in a while and today will actually be the first time this year. I knew Sephora was having the 2x the points on skincare so i wanted to take advantage of that and get a little something. However i got more! when I walked in i noticed they had a chair and table with a bunch of skincare products. I asked one of the sale associates if they were giving facials and said yes. A few minutes later she brings another lady who was gonna do my facial (although I didn't have an appointment). She explains everything to me. What I should and shouldn't do, according to my skin type. Then I sat on this reclinable chair and she began my facial. She started with the clarasonic. Then she did a microdermabrasion and massaged it into my skin. Then after put on a mask. During thr mask she told me to relax, put some pads on my eyes and got some cream and massaged my hands as well like a complete spa! When it was over I felt no pressure to buy anything but I definitely did! It was honestly the best service I have had in a really long time!
