I just bought a product that I really did not like, so I want to be more careful when I buy something else to replace it. I don't want to have to return something again, and I'm caught between two products that I might want to buy. So, is it okay if, the next time I go to Sephora, I ask for samples of the products so I can test them out and see which one I might want to buy the full size of? Thanks!

Hi K808,
I agree with Diana! Do not be afraid to ask for samples
Especially for foundation and skincare, I almost think its a must. The cast member will give you enough to try it for a few days.

Ironically, I posted a similiar question regarding samples, but it was of " sample size " for those of us, such as myself that live an hour and a half away from the nearest store, and disabled. It's a difficult drive for me to make. I guess my point is that I did explain my particular situation, and the day before I spoke with the VIB CONCIERGE to discuss options for my mother. She had reactions to Ole Kit, the 500 point perk I got for her to try..... she can have reactions either immediately or 7-10 days later. The same consultant, who knows my situation from my 1st visit to the store, put together the samples that were suggested to me and was shocked when I got home to see there was about 2 applications of the products. If you have any suggestions as to what I should do, please let me know. I truly appreciate your advice :-) Thank you!

Hi Canseethruu,
Like Melissa mentioned, Cast Member usually provide samples that should last a few applications. I suggest referring back to the product page here on Sephora.com when you bring home a sample, just to ensure you are using the proper amounts of the item, as well as usage info. I would also stick to one new product at a time to pinpoint any possible reactions to the products.
Please do ask for samples to try out all of the amazing products we have to offer
Good luck!
xo, Mia

I truly appreciate your feedback, however, I always do my research on the recommendations prior to going to the store. When I arrive, I have in hand a list of the products that are recommended from the VIB Concierge, or prior to the conversation with the concierge, I have a list of samples that my mother had tried from online purchases that she liked as a possibility for her skincare routine. The problem being that if she has a reaction, it could be immediate or 7 to 10 days later. I just cannot drive to Indy every 3 days to pick up another sample if it's a great product for her at the time.

Hi Canseethruu,
I responded back to the other post that was also related to this one, but I didn't want you to think I ignored you comment on here
Good luck finding the perfect products for you & your mother!

I get samples too, but my problem was getting enough product to make sure that my mother, primarily, didn't have an allergic reaction. She has very sensitive skin, and she could have an immediate reaction or somewhere between 7 to 10 days later. I live an hour an a half from the nearest store, so popping in for 3 days worth of samples is not an option for me.
I always come prepared with list of samples in hand, as well as products to purchase.....I'm very particular regarding efficiency
:-)

Hi k808,
You can ABSOLUTELY ask for samples of products! In fact, we encourage it so that you can try out the products that you are not sure of to make sure you like them and that they suit you.
This is especially helpful with foundations, cleansers, moisturizers and fragrances.
Feel free to ask your cast members at your local store for help so you can find what works best for you, and remember that our orders online let you select 3 free samples from our sample page choices. Hope this helps ![]()
