You don't have to pay for the makeover, that's free, but you are required to spend at least $50 the day of your appointment at most stores. You can request the look you want and I'm sure whoever helps you will answer any question you ask, but remember…most of the employees are NOT professional make up artists. Some might be great and some might not give you the look you want, it's luck of the draw really. Give yourself enough time to wash your face and redo your own makeup if you don't like the look. It's a 45 minute appointment so they won't generally have time to do it over if you are unhappy.

If you do go in and pay the $50, do they teach you how to do what they did? Can you request the look you want?

To get your makeup done at Sephora,  you must by a minimum of $50 worth of product.

I do makeovers or preps for these type of occasions. For a fun funky look I would charge about $35, but I do hair and all. I think the Sephora offer is a great deal if your $50 goes to a Sephora gift card. I would be willing to do that myself. HAHA Have fun at your concert!!!

HI Googoo13,

I recommend contacting your local Sephora Store to see what their policy is on makeovers.  It is a plus that Sephora cast members do not work on commission.:smileyhappy: I hope you have fun at your concert!

A Full Makeover consultation requires a minimum $50 payment. You should call your local Sephora location and confirm an appointment rather than showing up on the day of your event. That way they'll be better at catering to all your makeup needs and be expecting you. The $50 is basically put into a Sephora GiftCard, which you'd use on whatever products you want to. During the consultation the castmember will give you ideas on skincare and makeup. You can try out different looks and products and ask any beauty related questions you might have. The best part of this service is that you'll learn what works best on you and you won't be rushed and clueless with all the options at Sephora. The $50 seems like a lot, but technically since it's on a giftcard you don't have to spend it all on that day. And you're already a loyal Sephora customer- they know you'll buy products there anyway.

BTW, most makeup counters give makeovers for a price- Usually they say that makeovers are Free (with a purchase). Even at MAC, when they do a makeover you're expected to spend on a product. They don't technically tell you they charge a fee for makeovers, but it's expected and proper to make a purchase (it doesn't have to be expensive, it could be a lipgloss or liner, however much you want to spend) when getting a makeover done.

All Sephoras also have Free Services, but they're limited to one beauty item being done. For example: Foundation matching, Smokey Eyes, Lips, Skincare. Each of these are free since it's only one beauty concern and any castmember can help you to do any of them.

Have a great time at your concert :womanvery-happy:

I'm pretty sure they don't charge, but the work for commission and expect you to buy something.  I think one product they use on you should be enough maybe get the lipgloss if you like it because it won't last all night.

Im not really sure.... I know that i went in once and they gave me a free "makeover" i guess you could call it, but then again, I was buying a product. For an actual appointment with a Sephora consultant to do your makeup, Im pretty sure you would have to pay a bit. Call Sephora or visit the store nearest to you and ask them!
