Different prices?

(0) Hearts

So, i went into a Sephora in JCPenny for the first time the other day--am I crazy or is pricing completely different? I'm not refering to sale items, but a few current, hot products I found for less than the price online. Is this typical?

For the most part, prices at Sephora stores, Sephora inside JCPenney, and Sephora.com will be the same.

It is possible that a Sephora inside JCPenney may have a sale or markdown that is specific to JCP, but it's rare. Regular priced items will always be exactly the same across the board.

@voodoocat- Do you recall which products you saw at a different price, and what the price was?

I saw the Urban Decay mini primer potion set for 20% less than I had purchased it online. Then I started checking a few other products--can't remember exactly what they were, but each one was 20% less.

A 20% reduction in price is unusual, but possible if it's a JCP sale or markdown. If you see it come up again, I would recommend reporting it to Customer Service or call the VIB Line. :smileyhappy:

The Sephora in JCP in Victoria, TX recently raised the price of their Naked Palettes to 50 dollars.

I saw that the original naked palette went from $48 to $50, not that its much difference, but it made me wonder why?  i thought maybe it had something to do with the second coming out.  I dont know why there would be a price difference in either  but the new one is $50.

I'm not sure of the exact reason for the price increase, but most lines do periodically raise their prices (usually in small increments).

I don't think its right for them to charge a higher price than what the item is sold for online and I don't plan to make any purchases at that location while they are raising the price on a popular item simply because it is popular.

Ps. I mean the original Naked Palette, which when I checked, was still listed at 48 online

Sorry for the confusion!  The online price has increased, as well.  All prices in our stores should be the same as online.  If you notice a discrepancy please let me know and I can research it for you.

Oh thank you. When I made the first post about the price increase I checked and it hadn't changed yet

They should be exactly the same. If they are not than someone at that location is trying to make an extra profit. I have been to Sephora inside JC Penney but dont like to shop there because they dont carrry the items that I use and they didnt participate in the skincare challenge last year...I got gipped there so bad. I bought 3 skincare items as xmas gifts for friends (expensive too..:smileysad: ) and they didnt apply to the skincare challenge at all. And they dont give 100 pt awards.

At my local Sephora @ JCP, the products that are on sale online are not on sale in the store...otherwise, the other products that I looked at were the same price.

I live near 4 full-sized sephoras and 2 Sephora in JCP's and at all these locations the prices are the same as the prices shown online. I've compared the prices of Sephora by OPI, Nars, Urban Decay, Too Faced, Bare Essentials. That seems strange to me that the prices would be so drastically different online and instore. It could've been marked incorrectly on the displays. Next time you visit that location talk to a manager about your pricing concerns.
