Oily
Hi, I was wanting a powder that will keep my super oily skin matte and shine-free. I've been reading the reviews and i'm not sure whether the BareMinerals Matte Foundation Broad Spectrum or the Stay Matte Sheer pressed powder would work better.
Acne
I have been using prescriptives makeup, it is just working anymore. I have bad adult acne with very oily skin. The cost is NOT my concern. I want a good, healthy foundation.
Dry
I often read that you have to use a product for X amount of days/weeks before you will start to notice a difference. Makes sense to me but I have tons of different brands mostly deluxe samples received as GWP, skin care sets or promo codes.   My routine is wash with Clarisonic, then apply toner, serum, eye cream, moisturizer and argan or maracuja oil (at night). My skin is normal for the most part with some dryness occasionally. When I shop for products I go for ones for dry skin and anti aging.   So is it bad that I use different brands every couple of days? What I mean by bad is.....is it a waste of product/time since Im not using it continuously like the instructions usually say to see results?   Hope this makes sense
All Other Concerns
I just recently started washing my face everyday.  It's horrible, but I guess I never had to wash it as much.  Now that I am washing, applying moisturizer, putting on makeup, and then removing it it is a lot for my skin.  I have noticed my skin feels almost oily--but doesn't look oily. I apply moisturizer AM and PM is it being over moisturized?
Combo / Normal
I've recently been on a hunt for a clay mask to combat the pores, black heads, and deep cleansing and have fallen in love with the results Boscia's black mask gave   but I've found the peeling off process to be very irritating and reddening (?).. but otherwise its "just right"  does anyone have tips/tricks to use this in a less irritating but still get as much benefit?
Antiaging Skincare
I need some suggestions for skin care products.  I'm overwhelmed by all of the choices.  I'm 36 years old with normal to dry skin.  My major issue is hyper-pigmentation that is from the sun and old acne places.  I'm very careful about wearing sunblock and a hat, but I spend so much time outside during the summer, I still end up with with some sun.  My current routine just doesn't seem to be enough anymore.  I would love some ideas.  I'm willing to spend more on skincare, but I don't have an unlimited budget.  Sephora is difficult for me to get to, but Ulta is much easier.   I have been using Cetaphil face wash and lotion along with an Olay night cream for a long time.  My skin is sensitive to some stronger products that results in redness and stinging.  My acne is under control now, and seems to be stress related.    Thanks to everyone for the help.
Dry
I'm begining to loose patience with finding something to cover my under eye darkness. My problem is that I have dry skin EVERYWHERE on my face. I cannot seem to get a concealer that applys smoothly but wont slip down my face by the end of the day. Ive tried many eye creams, primers, setting sprays, setting powders, and more but nothing is working! someone please help!

Is there an eye cream that is safe to use on the eyelids? I was told by one sephora gal the dermadoctor eye cream is okay to use on the eyelids and then told by another that there isn't an eye cream that is safe or should be used on the eyelids. Who is correct? Is there an eye cream that can be used on the eyelids?
Dry
Im currently on my 3rd week using Retin A and my skin has become dry and flakey. Apparently this is normal until my skin adjust to the retin. Im seeking an affordable cleanser (preferably cream based), i also need a good SPF moisturizer. I have to stay away from anything citrus in order not to irritate my skin (while on retin citrus and alcohols can irritate and cause bad redness). Also, i prefer something with minimal alcohol in the products. I cant afford to lose anymore hydration lol. I cant wait until my "Ugly" phase is over. Only 3 weeks in and my skin is almost acne clear. Im hoping the dreadful 4-6 weeks horror stories of purging does NOT come my way, Id really appreciate any suggestions from my fellow beauties.

My Dr's office has infrared saunas and I was wondering if anyone here has used them.  What does it feel like?  How long did you use one and did you see any benefits?   For those will ask, infrared saunas are supposed to: - remove toxins through increased circulation and sweating - burns as many calories as 30 minutes of jogging - clears cellulite - reduces stress and fatigue - improves acne and appearance of wrinkles

Dry
I have dry combination skin type that is very very acne prone.  I get redness every now and then, but with the right products, I usually don't.. but breakouts are something I tend to not be able to control     I use clarisonic, philosophy and sulwhasoo peels for exfoliating about 2 times a week, but I feel like its not enough to deep clean for pores especially in the summer.    I have in the past used Fresh umbrian clay and PTR sulfur mask from what I can remember on top of my head.  I loved the umbrian clay mask, but found it to be very dehydrating.. PTR sulfur mask on the other hand barely did anything..  oh and Glam glow was way too irritating for my skin..    can anyone please recommend a good clay mask that I can use for the purpose of drawing out impurities and keeping my skin a bit more clear?    thank you in advance!

I've finished my jar of the Kiehls Creamy Avocado Eye Treatment a few weeks ago and am still hesitating whether to rebuy it or not. I really like the Kiehls one to use under makeup as it hydrates my eye area and makes the fine lines under my eyes less noticeable and the fact that it doesn't irritate my eyes if I put it too close. I've been using the Algenist Eye Renewal Balm and have noticed that my eye area looks dry when makeup is applied over top. Should I just go back to Kiehls or maybe try another eye cream? Another one I am considering of getting is the Bobbi Brown Hydrating eye cream since it does have the word "hydrating" in its name.

ok this is going to probably be a really slow question to ask on a beauty thread , because i should probably already know and all that buuuttttt.... how do you tell if you have oily, dry,or combination skin ? When I'm shopping for foundation and they ask I'm usually just like i don't know but it does not seem like anyone can help me I know sometimes i get oily but not all the time so I'm just really confused >.< so guyss how can i tell ( sorry again for the dumb question lol)
Dry
I'm 25 and I use clarins early wrinkle correction cream and was really happy with it until i found out my face has started to flake especially around the nose. Please suggest a good moisturiser that isn't very exorbitant.

I'm looking for some type of pore minimizer, whether it be a primer, a BB cream, or any other product. Personal opinions are very welcome! I'm looking for a product that isn't too heavy but will minimize the look of large pores. Any sugguestions?!

I just turned 39 and have a youthful look. I would like to keep it. Any suggestions on a cleansing/daily routine? I do have mild rosacea as well.   Thank you Kim

Can anyone give me a suggestion on QUICKLY fading the red/dark marks post-cystic-acne breakout?
Oily
I need some help finding a primer for my oily skin and large pores! Ive tried many, including becca ever matte but none seem to work well and i still notice my makeup sliding off around noon or even earlier. I've struggled with bad skin for awhile and I really want a primer that keeps my makeup intact and my oil at bay. Thanks

What product can you use to get rid of the dark upper lip shadow???
Oily
I need some help with my super oily skin! By noon it's so bad that I am constantly wiping it away. I'm 30 and I had hoped that it would go away by now, but it seems to be getting worse. So far everything I have tried hasn't made a difference and I'm starting to feel desperate. I'm embarassed whenever I have an afternoon meeting because of it... to make things worse, a lady in one of my afternoon meetings actually pointed it out to me.
Skincare Stories
Hi all! I wish to add some skin care products to my list since I’m about to be 20. I’m just so excited to welcome my 20 years old birthday and want to take care of my face. I just use cleanser, toner and lotion. I’m looking for eye gel and mask now. I wonder if it’s a little early to use them. My face is a little sensitive and slightly oily on T zone. I used to use Clinique, Jurlique, and Kiehl’s. I find Fresh Lotus Eye Gel and Rose Mask might be a good choice. Can you leave me some suggestions? I would love to know other choices, and also if you are the same skin type with me, can you tell me what skin care products you use?

I'm almost 26, have normal, sometimes blemish-prone skin, and have just developed my first sun spot on my cheek, near my nose and have been battling a dark patch on my upper lip for a while now as well. I exfoliate daily/every other day with Origins Instant Brightening pads & I use Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, and that combo seems to work well for acne marks, but not doing much good to my new sun spot or my "mustache"... Any recommendations on products to treat these issues? Spoiler (Highlight to read)
Oily
I'm sorry that this post is SO LONG, but I tried to include as much information as I could! I'm just finishing up the last of my daily routine products, and I'm on the look out for new skincare products since what I've been using hasn't been working that well.    I've looked around the skincare boards and done some research, so while I have some ideas about what products I might look into I would appreciate hearing back from some of you since you seem to have really great ideas and suggestions! So thank you in advance.   My skin: Oily - by afternoon, I notice my skin is a bit oily (it can feel a bit "slick" in some places) but I use products to try and combat this. T-zone area (less on my chin) and sometimes along my cheekbones.    Pores around my nose/centre of forehead - I wouldn't say my pores are large, but they are noticeable to me in these two areas. I tend to have more blackheads on my nose and chin, maybe a few on my forehead.    Very fair and freckled - so my skin isn't very "even" looking, and can be a bit blotchy.    Dry patches - I notice that if I don't use a good moisturizer, I am prone to dry patches once in a while (especially in winter). My nose can get flaky, along with my forehead and sometimes my chin. My guess is that the types of acne/oily skin products I've been using might be causing this.    Young skin - I'm in my 20s so aging skin isn't a problem yet. I have some good genes on my side, and I try to take care of my skin so I think that's helping. I'd like to prevent this, but it really isn't an issue or concern.   I have a couple small scars (mostly faded but still there).   Current routine: I've been using my Clarisonic regularly for a couple years with sensitive brushes, and I have no complaints. It works really well for me, and has made a drastic difference in my skin. I use it nearly every day.   First, I use the Dermalogica Precleanse. (I've used Dermalogica products before, and while they were decent they weren't amazing - a concern for me since they are pricey.) I follow that with The Body Shop's Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash and Toner. I'm really not happy with this line - it really doesn't seem to help with my blemishes/acne.    For moisturizer, I've been using Clinique's Dramatically Different Gel. This is better than most moisturizers I've used, but it's still only okay. I've also been using the Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial which I think is too heavy for my skin. I have a sample of Dermadoctor Red Light Eye Lift I've been using.   As an exfoliate, I started using Korres Pomegranate Scrub which I love (so far). I bought it recently and I've been happy with it.   I've been using the Clinique Spot Treatment Gel on pimples (when I have any). It's a sample size, thankfully, because I'm really not a fan! It's far too drying for my skin and doesn't seem to clear anything up.    For masks, I've been trying out some new ones lately. I've never found anything I love enough to stick with long-term. I used GlamGlow's Supermud for a few months (about 4-5) and I liked it - but again, not AMAZING considering the price.    I don't really use any peels or serums. I've tried some, but they have been small samples so I couldn't really see any significant difference.   New products?   Korres Pomegranate/Yoghurt and Milk products? I've been eyeing some of these.  Caudalie - I've been eyeing the Favourites Kit (to try the cleansing water, sorbet, and Beauty Elixir. I've really been eyeing that elixir.) Or the Deep Cleansing Power Trio? Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser or Clear Complexion or Purifying? Algenist Hydrating Essence Toner Murad Toner? Philosophy Oxygen Peel? I'm planning on buying the Origins Charcoal Mask - it sounds like it would work well for me.   Acne Peter Roth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel Murad Acne Clearing Kit - not sure whether this would be a good idea, because I'd rather focus on giving my skin what it needs to keep it healthy and happy which will hopefully help combat acne. I don't think my acne is severe enough to warrant acne products, to be honest. Peter Roth Sulfur Masque Acne Treatment Kate Somerville EradiKate Treatment
Oily
I hope no one gets offended by the title of my post but I've looked and can't find a question like mine.   Is it possible that I've made my T-zone oily by over moisturizing my skin?  I thought I had these dry spots in various places and have only realized that it's not dry, but these tiny blond hairs in the places I thought were dry.  Yes, I only figured this out a few day ago and now my T-zone is super oily.  Maybe it was oily to start but I've been moisturizing heavily, using oils, serums, creams, etc.  If it was me who made my skin oily, can I reverse it or is this the way its going to be and I'll learn to deal with it but I had to ask cause I'm super curious if this can happen.  Then again, maybe this is something that happens as we age and I had no hand in it.  What do you beauties think?

I live in a mild climate, where it can be slightly humid, but otherwise it rains continually for 3/4 of the year. I have normal-to-combo skin, meaning I don't really have any major dry/oily spots, but I can get dry or slightly oily in my t-zone occasionally.    I use the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser twice a day (ok, usually I only manage to use it once a day), and I moisturize with Ole Henriksen's Nurture Me and Bite's Agave Lip Mask twice a day (religiously). I exfoliate with Exfolikate twice a week, and I use the Boscia Black Luminizing mask all-over once a week, and in my trouble zones up to three times a week. I use the GLAMGLOW Powermud once or twice a week, and I spot treat any incoming blemishes with the GLAMGLOW Supermud as needed. I also use the Boscia Purifying Pore Strips on an as-needed basis as well.    What is your skincare routine?

I am going to the nearest Sephora next weekend and would like to know what I should get to treat & conceal.   I have dry skin, can someone give me some advice on the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide?  Thanks.

Acne
I have two pimples/zits on my cheeks and NOTHING IS WORKING. I've been using benzoyl peroxide in the morning, and 2% salicylic acid and Tretinoin at night. It's been a few weeks since I got them and they're so stubborn. Those products that I mentioned above don't make a difference. Help!
Acne
Does anyone know of any aggressive blackhead removal products? I use a clarisonic and use salycilic 2%, Benzoyl 10%, and PTR glycolic exfoliating serum. I have large pores and just can't seem to get rid if blackheads. Has anyone tried GlamMud?
Combo / Normal
I've got really fair skin that has a LOT of redness.  What skincare brand/products would you suggest?  Thanks!!
Oily
I had never ventured outside of Mac, both Studio Fix and Pro Longwear were my go-to foundations. But they started to fade away, especially around my nose area. I went to Sephora cause I thought it was time for a change. I asked the associate who helped me what would be good for oily skin and for medium-full coverage and she introduced the Kat Von-D Lock It foundation. When she tested it on me, it felt light and the coverage was amazing. So i bought it and the primer she had used on me (MUFE Microperfecting). For the first couple of days i did not like how it was looking on me but i figured i needed to give it some time. I tried applying it different ways but nothing seemed to work and i looked even more oily than before. Even more, my face started to look older and the makeup was cracking. It also transferred, alot. So here i am, looking once again...help!
