I'm 41, and have really oily skin due to a medical condition. My skin is also extremely sensitive, and I'm allergic to petroleum/petrolatum, lanolin, eucalyptus, menthol and beeswax. I'm trying to find a moisturizer or foundation with high SPF, that won't oxidize or leave me feeling like an oil slick. Any ideas?
I am 31 years old and am just starting to see some fine lines under my eyes and on my forhead. I also have acen proned skin. I need a foundation that won't cause break outs and won't settle in my fine lines. And won't wear off. I know! I'm asking a lot!!! Any suggestions?
Hello, ladies (and possible gents)! So, I'm wondering how can I even out my skin tone. I have blotchy, discolored skin - lighter in some areas than others, and even after putting foundation and powder on, you can still tell that the color is a bit uneven. It also makes my blush appear reeeally blotchy and uneven and that bothers me to no end. Is there some sort of trick for this?? Also, for those of you who have breakouts and/or acne scarring on your cheeks, how do you conceal the area without rubbing the concealer off when putting on blush and highlighter, etc.? This doesn't happen when I conceal other parts of my face, but I think it may be due to the fact that my scars are so dark.
Ok, so I may or may not be panicking a little but I was putting on PTR retinol PM serum today and discovered red dots on the dropper. I tried wiping it with a kleenex (sprayed with alcohol to sanitize) and the red dots are INSIDE the dropper and I only use it right after I wash my hand, so I don't think it's from my skin contact? I could be wrong, it could be harmless, but it's pretty noticeable and I'm creeped out. Any ladies using PTR retinol PM? or have any idea what it is? does it have anything to do with retinol??? I just noticed it after I put the serum on. Not happy T.T
As part of my skin care resolution this year I've been making every effort to clean my face at night before bed. I thought I was doing good by using face cleansing wipes which I follow with skincare products. I use my Clarisonic in the morning while I shower and then of course SPF moisturizer and makeup. I was reading an article in a magazine lately that mentioned makeup wipes as the "lazy girl's" method that should only reserved for those nights when you are too tired to do anything else. Should I be doing a better job at night cleansing my face? What works for y'all?
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have been using calamine lotion on my face after I cleanse and tone nightly for about 4 months now. My skin's redness has greatly decreased and it acts like a spot treatment as well. My face is softer, smaller pores, smoother. I got the idea because I had tried Kate Somerville's Eradikate and thought it was too pricey and calamine lotion looks the same lol. Check it out It's about $9 for a bottle that will last you months. I bought mine in December and still have it. I use about a tsp daily so it will last forever.
So I wear aloe vera gel on my face after I cleanse and tone. The last two times I applied my bb cream on top of it, it started to flake. There were grey eraser shaving like flakes on my face. I wasn't sure if it was because my bb cream was quite old, so I tried a new one, but same thing. It's weird because it goes on smooth and then as I rub it in my face and blend it ends up flaking grey. Does that mean the face moisturizer isn't good or should I exfoliate more?
My sister swears by glycolic acid aka AHA (from my understanding they are the same). She recommends that ingredient based on the fact it is anti-aging but most importantly that it chemically exfoliates. She is against gritty exfoliants. BUT I live in FLORIDA and am an outdoors kind of girl. I feel I cannot use glycolic acid because even with sunblock I still get burn and get red! I've had to return products for this reason. What ingredient(s) should I look to as alternatives?
My face is really prone to breaking out in whiteheads and nothing will clear them up. I need some suggestions on new face wash and spot treatments. I am currently using Simple face wash and lotion. My skin is oily and sensitive.
Looking for a skin care product to help red post acne marks / PIH that I've had for about 3 years that won't go away. I don't want to use the lightening treatments because I've read that they don't work well for red marks and the ingredient hydroquinone can be dangerous. Can anyone make a recommendation? Thanks!
I just purchased the Ole Henrikson The Works kit and I LOVE it! I was just looking to purchase the full size products, but happened to notice that the Sheer Transformation says it fades dark spots. I've seen some other products that claim that as well. I have tons of freckles and I am concerned that this will fade them? Totally new to this stuff and looking for some guidance/advice. Thank you!!!
I was wondering if there is a sunscreen product that I can spray on my head that will not make my hair look greasy. I know that a hat is a good solution, but i don't always have one handy, nor do I like the way I look with a hat on..
I have hereditary dark under eye circles and my skin runs dry. I am starting to have dull skin and I have included a pic of me with no makeup on. I know scary right! No not the pic but no makeup pic on the internet. I do not have major skin issues but it seems when I go into Sephora store and get color matched, I enjoy whatever they put on me. I end up buying it come home and put it on next day and boom it doesn't look as good. I cannot figure why my foundation looks like craip and as for the under eyes nothing seems to help at all.I think at one point if I could figure out a good under eye regimen then maybe i could get away with just that and a light BB cream or CC cream. I have tried Shisedo and I currently use ole Hendrickson cleanser to wash my face. I do like the Shisedo however it doesn't and wont truly correct the dark circles. I am so lost in this makeup world and I wish there was a company you could go to to sit down and address your makeup concerns and they teach you properly how to apply makeup and give you a rock solid routine for your skin type. Man what a great business idea. Anyways do you have any recommendations or anyone for that matter for my nude face with dark circles?? Please Help!!
I'm getting married in about 2 months and I'm looking for a good skincare regimen that I can do for the next 60days to help improve my skins oiliness, dark circles, anti aging and visible pores. It's my wedding and I want perfectly flawless skin on my wedding day, can someone please recommend a great skincare product for me?
Can you recommend the best foundation that has anti-aging properties? I am not good at a skin regimen. However, I do put foundation or a tinted moisturizer on everyday. It would be awesome to have one in the same Thank you in advance!
I am looking for recs for a good night cream. Early 30's, so anti-aging is a must. Oily skin, pretty clear (finally!), so nothing heavy or to add to the oil I already have. I am willing to invest in a good one if I find the right product. Suggestions? Thanks!!
I've never had "deep" acne or cysts on my face before, but I have have a sebaceous cyst on my temple...right where a side burn would be in front of my ear. When I was heavier I would get them on my arms and legs where I would sweat (yeah, gross, I know), but never before on my face. Does anyone recommend anything for this? It doesn't really hurt (unless touched, and then it feels bruised), and it's not noticeable (unless someone was close and could notice the flesh-toned orb on my temple, lol), but it is annoying. Many thanks!
When the day X comes, I always have one or two deep zits on my face, and it's super annoying, I think you all know how I use origins gel for spot treatment, but I feel it's not doing a very good job. I'm sitting with my Origins "out of trouble" mask at the moment, hoping it might help , and I decided to ask you, guys, what are your favorite ointments/products for this problem? I'm looking for something that doesn't require a doctor's prescription.
Hi Beauties!! Everyone is so great at sharing secrets and product recommendations for faces. I think we need to share what we do for the rest of our body! Scrubs, cleansers, lotions, tips and tricks for the rest of our skin! I love to use up samples of face creams, serums, etc. on my arms and hands. Things I am pretty sure will break me out on my face will work great for my neglected appendages. I am also trying to be better about using sunscreen on my hands and arms. I use a body scrub a couple of times a week, and I love Korres procducts--very gentle and moisturizing, non-irritating, natural. Avon makes wonderful foot care products--their Pedi-Peel pads are a higher Glycolic acid and really smoothes out the skin on your feet. Great foot scrubs and the lotion isn't all slippery. So, come on and share your loves for caring for the rest of you!
No matter how hard I try I can never achieve truly flawless skin. As soon as I get close, I end up getting a pimple or a blackhead that leaves an ugly, dark scar. As much as I love makeup, concealer and whatnots...I really would like to take fresh face pictures. I would love to hear what you beauties use to help you during those hormonal phases so that you can keep flawless skin? I'm in my 30s and I've decided to try birth control pills just in an effort to achieve flawless skin.
Hello beautifuls...are you a believer in double cleansing?? If not why and if yes what products have you used in combination that have left you with happy balanced skin?? I have been experimenting first with the cleansing oils (Shu Uemeria Purifying when travelling, Murad Rejuvenating in AM, Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing in PMl) vs actual pure oils first to remove waterproof SPF/makeup and then a creamy cleanser ( Algenist Gentle Rejuvenating Cleanser) or a foaming cleanser. Occasionally I would add an intermediate step such as a mild scrub or salicylic acid wash if I feel I need extra help with congestion. First I must say I prefer cleansing oils due to their emulsification abilities with water. What combinations have you tried??
Hey guys, I'm wondering if it's ok to use multiple face cleansers? I'm currently using Cerave foaming facial cleanser and I like it but I've also just ordered Purity by Philosophy and Checks and Balances by Origins (product junkie)! Would it be ok to rotate through these cleansers? If so, how often should I switch them? I've read that your face may get used to a cleanser so you should switch but I've also heard it can be quite bad for your skin. So confusing Thanks in advance for all the help!
I went to a esthetician yesterday and she talked about how I have alot of black and white heads that can develop into a full fledged acne if not taken care of.. (not just on the nose but on the cheeks and forehead as well) and that I should stop squeezing them out to leave scars around the face.. she recommended for me to use a line of skin care that kills bacteria that I'm supposed to pick up next week.. I have acne prone skin, but I'm very very sensitive and dry at the same time.. she said it won't be drying.. but what should I do? she's telling me $184. I can't use anything else. just the set to get rid of the bacteria deep within I've had salicylic acid and benzyol peroxide before which both ended up leaving my skin irritated, dry, red, and just worse..
I have been shaving my legs for a long time and I absolutely hate shaving cream. It irritates my legs so I don't use it. The problem is that my legs look dry and almost like i have scales even though they're completely smooth. I have a natural slight sun tan but because of the way the skin on my legs looks, the tan looks kinda splotchy. Any ideas or solutions would be AMAZING!
hey beauty's! happy Saturday to you all! I was very curious about the Boscia luminizing black mask since I saw pbbunny97 mentioned it in one of her videos on youtube and she loves it, and ive heard many good things about it. I also researched it and many people love it, unclogs the pores, yaddyayday. anyway if any of you beauty's have tried it, maybe drop a line? peace and love, skye <3 P.S isn't that little butterfly on the Sephora homepage just the cutest thing?
After countless months I have worked to get rid of acne. Everything was going really well with my skin care routine and products I was using. Now for some reason I'm getting these annoying blackheads instead of pimples. The start as dark spots, then they swell up and hurt. As much as I try to exfoliate, use clearing mask, and spot treatments it only gets worst. If I wait a week or two they usually burst open and leave this gaping hole in my skin that takes weeks to heal over, which leaves a scar that I work hard to lighten. When I can't take it after a few days I pop them with two Q-tips soaked in toner but that still leaves a scar...just a smaller one. Does anyone else have this problem? Could it be something I'm using or eating? I thank you in advance for your help.
