I used to have dry patches and oily skin, but I've switched to using Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb, May Coop Raw Sauce, Son & Park Beauty Water, and I use St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub as a cleanser. My skin has stopped being dry, but it's still oily. It's not as oily as it used to be but I really want to find a way or product(s) that would help my face not be so oily or shiny during the day. Also, I don't wear makeup.
I've been maintaining my complexion with ProActiv which has done wonders for my skin. Recently though, I will get flare ups and my face will still break out with stubborn acne that I can't get rid of for days or weeks using ProActiv and other spot treatments. I was wondering which Kate Somerville product would be best for acne prone/oily skin: The Detox daily cleanser or the Eradikate mark foam-activated treatment?
I've been using BareMinerals BarePro powder foundation for a few weeks now. Unfortunately, it's itchy and makes my skin feel tight. I'm not sure if it's the combination of the products I'm using or the BarePro itself that's irritating my skin but I really love this foundation and want to make it work. Here's my morning make up/skin care routine. - Cleanse with FAB's pure cleanser (morning and night) - Tone with Jurlique's rosewater spray (morning and night) - Moisturize with L'Octaine light moisturizer (morning and night) - Prime with BareMineral's original primer - Buff on BarePro - Buff on BareMineral's original Mineral Veil - Finish with Urban Decay's chill setting spray What do y'all think? Is it the foundation I'm using or the primer?
I'm 21 years old and have had oily skin - no doubt in the world that my face is an oil slick. Within the last year I have noticed my skin starting to have dry areas as well as oil patches. I have no idea if this is how my skin has developed or I'm using products that are just making me dry. I have only had a handful on instances in which a product managed to make me dry. Any suggestions on what skin care/ makeup i can use? I'm almost hesitant to completely change into combo products because I'm worried that this is just a weird time for me
I have really oily skin and I am trying to find products to help balance it and also a foundation that is best for oily skin. I use Make Up Forever Mat Velvet + Mattifying foundation but I do not feel it is really doing much for me. Any Recommendations?
What should I use for adult acne? I am in my upper 20's and have tried everything, Pro Active, No Zit Sherlock, Derma Doctor and even over the counter brands at target. It's all below my nose, so I'm told it's hormonal. My skins dries easily, but I am just looking for something to clear up my acne!!! Help!
I really want to buy a Clarisonic Mia but I'm afraid that it might stimulate the hair on my face to grow thicker. I really don't want my peach fuzz to become more noticeable. I read this online: Topical hair growth is caused by sustained surface irritation to an area. These methods can stimulate the blood supply to an area, bringing more nourishment to the area. This can stimulate hair growth. Has this happened to anyone using the Clarisonic?
My VIB wishlist is as follows: Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask Dennis Gross Universal Daily Peel Dr. Jart Snow Time Clarins Sunscreen Clinique Take the day off Clinique Moisture that matters Origins GinZing Moisturizer Sunday riley #squad goals Drunk elephant lets b clear set Im also looking at Tata Harper Purifying cleanser. But unsure if it will completely dry me out. Needing opinions on these! Im undecided between Sunday Riley Good Genes and the Drunk Elephant TLC one. So many mixed reviews for them both. I have a slightly oily t-zone, normal/dry cheeks. Thank you!!
I'm 19. I have deep skin and I have a lot of dark spots from acne scarring. I don't get pimples too often but when I'm stressed I find that my skin breaks out. My skin keeps marks for a while and I don't know what to use as a cleanser, treatment, or moisturizer. I'm using clearasil right now the acne cream works a little but, it dries my skin. HELP!
Hi all, So I know this is super bad - but I have never really looked after my skin at all. Like, ever. Until now, I've only ever really washed my face whenever I shower, and if I am removing eye make-up (I don't wear make-up often). My skin isn't terrible, I've never had issues with acne, but it's not great either. I look tired a lot of the time, parts of it are very dry, and I'm at the point where I'd like to start taking care of it while I'm young and it's easier to do so. Thing is, I don't even really know where to begin. All my mother ever taught me was to use a bar of soap to wash my face everyday. I did this in the past, and all it really did was dry out my skin, which was why I stopped. I've also tried various stuff from the aisles in Shoppers Drug Mart, but those products always seemed to cause problems for me. I also only ever used cleansers, and didn't know until recently that you were supposed to moisturize too(?). Anyways, if anyone can give me a really good idea about what products to try and what sort of regimen to use I'd super appreciate it!! (Oh and I think I have combination skin - parts of my face are very dry, other parts kind of oily, so I guess that would be the type of skin products I'd be looking for)
Hi! I have a bad habit of not wearing sunscreen but I just moved to the high desert and it's clearly necessary. How much spf do I need and can you recommend a sunscreen or moisturizer with spf (sephora or drugstore) that isn't greasy, won't cause acne, and can be worn smoothly under makeup? And on that note, should I wear foundation primer over the sunscreen? Thanks.
I've had acne for the past 6 years, and I just can't get rid of it. I have SUPER pale skin, and I've been told that green corrector only works for tan-ish skin. I've also been told that yellow is better for pale skin and acne scars. My acne is ALL over my face, mostly on my chin, and left cheek. I really need to know what color corrector to use!! (and also a brand??)
I am 18 years old and love makeup but have never done much to care for my skin at all. I'm trying to turn that around and start a routine that will keep my skin healthier and delay signs of aging. What routine would you recommend for me and do you have specific product recommendations? Thanks so much!
I'm 21 and have suffered from acne for as long as I can remember. I've been to the dermatologist and have been perscribed multiple things that have done absolutely nothing. I've tried just about everything so I need some help. I have oily skin and I need products that help with acne or will not cause me to breakout , yet usually when I use products for acne prone skin they leave my skin with dry patches and super sensitive. Is there any products out there that will help with acne but not dry me out??
My skin is extremely dehydrated and dull lately. I use a clarisonic every night but no matter how much I exfoliate it never seems to look anything but rough. Large pores on my cheeks, lines on my forehead & an uneven looking texture all over. My skin is extremely sensitive and is frequently irritated on top if all this. My moisturizer does nothing for the dryness & my makeup looks awful sitting on the roughness. I use cetaphil face wash, cerave moisturizer spf 30 & MyChelle hyaluronic acid serum at night I'm only 28, please help!
Looking for a cleanser that really does the job. Sensitive skin, prone to break-outs so a natural salicylic or other active ingredients that removes dirt & make-up and doesn't leave an oily residue would be great! Any recommendations? Been looking at Boscia, Jurlique, etc. and reading the reviews...none seem to stand out as clear winners. Help would be much appreciated!
I have dry skin and I was wondering what order y'all do your skincare in at night or in the morning and maybe what products you use to help with the dryness. Also, how long should I wait to put on makeup after my skincare routine?
Does anyone know of any skincare-only subscription boxes? I just cancelled my Birchbox subscription, since the points system was really the only reason I was sticking around, so I'm looking for a replacement. I'm pretty picky with makeup, but still new to the world of skincare, so it'd be nice to find a subscription box with only skincare items (not mask-only boxes, though). I have looked into some of the Korean skincare boxes, Miss Tutii and MishiBox in particular, but I'm a little wary of the quality of some of the cheaper Korean brands that are often in those boxes and I am very uncomfortable at the prospect of getting skin-whitening products. I also have gotten the impression that a lot of Korean skincare products are for oily skin, and since I have very dry skin, I would have to have a box that is customized for dry skin. I would love to hear from subscribers about their experiences with different boxes!
I have so many small bumps all over my face. I don't know if it's keratosis pilaris or milia or clogged pores I just really want to get rid of them. I've always suffered from acne, and I've come along way, it's just these **bleep** small bumps!
I was wondering what people's thoughts on these two are. I've tried the DE glycolic serum and liked it (sample), but then I tried a foil sample of it a month later and it did not do anything, and rather seemed to add to my whiteheads. I also tried the Good Genes as a sample, but it did not seem to do anything for me. I'm thinking that maybe I am not having much success with these products because I got them in a sample jar where the ingredients would have been exposed to the air for a while. That said, has anybody really tried both and have a firm opinion on which one they prefer? I have combination/oily (in the center of my face) skin, and it is NOT that sensitive.
I'm looking for an affordable scented body lotion and/or foot cream to use after showering. I don't have particularly dry legs or feet, so I don't need anything heavy duty, but I really would like something that smells nice! Currently I'm using The Body Shop's Body Butter (strawberry), but it's too expensive to keep buying it, so I'm looking for alternatives. Something that absorbs fast would also be nice, but is not mandatory. Thanks!
Which everyday facial cleanser can someone recommend for me? My skin is normal/combo and I need something that will help keep my pores clean as well as deal with whiteheads on the side of my face from my eye to a little past my cheekbones closer to my ears than the center of my face. I already have an exfoliant but I can't use that everyday.
SK II's Cellumination line has been discontinued and pulled from the US market. Sephora still carries the cream and lotion from that line which I believe is existing stock waiting to be sold. But the cellumination Aura Essence is gone, even from department stores. The asian market has it's replacement of with the Genoptics line. Anyone have any ideas when and if Sephora will add Genoptics to their SK II offering?
Hey guys, so I'm 27 with fair, sensitive, acne prone skin especially hormonal acne. I am thinking of changing up my skin care routine, BUT I have been using Origins plantscription am with SPF 25 and the night a mins cream at night (both creams are oil free too) for probably 2-3 years now. I just feel like maybe I need something new for my skin, I have been looking at Lancome and some other products, but I just dont know what to go with? obviously I would like a day cream that has SPF in it and im all about anti-aging products it is never too early to start for that. So I need some advice what are the best products to maybe try out that are reasonable or maybe just keep my routine the way it is?
I have oily/sensitive/acne prone skin and have been looking for a good moisturizer with SPF that won't irritate my skin. I recently tried Philosophy Renewed Hope with SPF 25 (only because I use the night cream and its amazing) but the SPF version is horrible for oily skin. What are the ones that work best for you?
Hello, I just received some Ole Henriksen products I ordered online, the aloe vera deep cleanser, the grease relief facial water and the grease relief face tonic....is there a difference between the facial water and facial tonic? Can I use both of them back to back, if not which one should I keep? Thank you.
