Hellooo! Every summer when I go to put sunscreen on my face on pool or beach days my face breaks out within the hour. Not just little bumps on my face but large break outs that take weeks to go away. I have tried every sunscreen from target and Walgreens and they all have the done the same thing to my face. I have finally decided to splurge on a higher end sunscreen with the hope that my face wont break out for the whole summer. I have oily/combo sensitive acne prone skin if that helps. What are you recommendations for sunscreens? -Fabiola
Hi ladies, I want to get a gentler/softer brush head, because the sensitive brush head that comes with my new Clarisonic feels literally scratchy on my face. Maybe I am hypersensitive? Which Clarisonic brush head is softest? I'm thinking between Delicate, Acne, Radiance, and Cashmere. TIA!
I'm looking everywhere for really good foundation my face is so dry. Sometimes its so bad my t zone area will peal and be so dry and gross. I have a couple that are good, but me being me I want more. so any suggestion would be great.
I purchased this last week, and it arrived today. I will do a multi-post review on this item since there seems to be limited information related to this product, and most reviews are a few years old. Product arrived in the typical Sephora shipment box. The kit is packaged nicely in a blue box, and the device comes in a zippered case. Everything arrived intact, and the device is currently charging. Instructions, and other reviews I have watched online say the charging will take about 4 hours. First impressions, the zippered case was a nice touch and I like that everything is in one place.
Ok, so I don't even feel like applying makeup today because my eyes have been all itchy and bothering me lately due to seasonal allergies (which I take weekly shots for). Are there other ladies out there with this problem? How do you calm your eyes down?
Hello Sephora family, i am curious to know what i should start using as, i am becoming really hopeless when it comes to my everyday makeup.. with the summer months quickly approaching, i am sincerely nervous about how my face is going to look with all the oil that gets produced. I am a well-rounded person that takes care of my skin (since it is dear to me and how I look). I have a daily skin care routine which involves using a non-abrasive face cleanser (along the lines of spectro gel), a moisturizer (murad from Sephora with spf), a primer (Becca), and a foundation or a mineral passed pressed powder depending on how I feel the temperature will be outside. At nights, I wash my face with the same spectro gel base, and apply a moisturizer. Also I don’t have acne prone skin. Here is my issue. My skin is more than oily in my T zone, my makeup will stay in areas that are less affected, however I don’t know what to do anymore. I have tried laura mercier’s primer, the hour glass mineral veil, any of those included in sephora’s collection, and nothing helps. I am at a loss.. EVERYTHING melts off, or comes off on my glasses L with wedding season coming along, I don’t want to look greasy.. I also wanted to try using products that were more environmentally friendly however that doesn’t seem to be an option anymore as, a lot of the ingredients contain argan oil which, doesn’t really help my skin. My goal is just to try and have skin that looks even in all places with a minimal amount of oil. Dermatologists wont recommend anything to me as they don’t think my condition is bad (and I think I made it seem like a bigger issue that It actually is) but it has come to the point where I no longer feel confident. Everytime I walk into a Sephora, everyone has differences in opinions and it is confusing.. I need a solution and fast! Someone PLEASE HELP! I am willing to try anything (and hope it is not too pricey). Patricia
Hi, I am searching for a mineral facial sun screen or moisturizer that has physical protectants. I want a moisturizer that has active zinc oxide and titanium in it's ingredients but I am literally having no luck! Help?!
Hi. I would like to find a great eye cream to help with fine lines and that is safe for sensitive eyes. I have tried Hope Renewed and Ole Henrikson. While I feel they are good, they are not 100% great. I have tried Fresh, but I feel it irritates my eyes. Any other suggestions I would appreciate!
Hi, i'm looking to switch to a physical sunscreen as I understand it's supposed to be more stable and last longer (and who seriously reapplies every 2 hours if they wear makeup!). I have combo skin which tends to become oily halfway through the day. I'd be wearing it over a moisturiser or at least serum. Then Estee Lauder's double wear on top using a beauty blender. Ideally it's not greasy, won't cause breakouts, safe to use around the eyes, doesn't have the stupid sparkle effect (why do companies think women like this?!) and makeup goes on over it well. I don't care if it has a ghosting effect in photos, and aren't really concerned with anti-aging benefits as i'll get that from my moisturiser. If anyone's used the following, can you please let me know how they wear and compare if possible. Suggestions of other products are welcome. - Clinique's City Block Sheer: I tried this on my hand instore and it has a nice light texture. - Tarte's Tarteguard: also tested this, texture's ok but it has a sheen. It didn't seem too obvious so I could be okay with that if it's otherwise the best one. - Coola's Mineral Face Matte Finish or Tint - Dr Dennis Gross Dark Spot Defense - Drunk Elephant Umbra Sheer Physical Defense Thanks!
I've tried samples of the Origins Charcoal Mask and I bought the Glamglow Supermud mask a few months ago. I really love the Glamglow mask but it is a little on the expensive side. Before I repurchase it, I was just wondering if there are any major differences between the two masks?
Hi - I've been having whiteheads since.. forever. I have them mostly on my cheeks, chin and forehead. They don't grow into acne but they're irritating because of the bumpy feeling on my face. I recently tried Zenmed skincare and it worked really good in making the existing ones go away... but it doesn't stop them from coming back. So I get rid of my old whiteheads, but new ones would appear on other spots on my face. I have combination type of skin, I really take care of my diet and always make sure my pillowcase is frequently washed..I really don't know how else to deal with this. Please recommend something that can keep them away for good..!
A question for my high-maintenance BT ladies. I'm curious if any of you minimize your usual skincare routine when you travel, particularly to a sunny place for a week or more. Would love to know details, if you don't mind! When I went to the Bahamas a year ago, I'd continued my usual skincare routine with retinoids. In hindsight, that may not have been a wise choice, as I did a lot of swimming/diving and beach/water activities, so my compromised skin was continuously exposed to the sun without adequate reapplication. Perhaps it's better to just forgo the usual exfoliation (retinoids, AHA, BHA) we do in our daily routine so that our facial skin is not as sensitive to the intense UV rays we expose ourselves to when vacationing? Do you guys agree? I've also did some traveling around Asia a few years ago during the summer and remember forgoing all makeup and SPF on most days, because the weather was just too hot and humid. Everything on the skin felt suffocating so I limited my routine to just a cleanser and gel moisturizer. I'm pretty sure these negligent decisions are going to haunt me as I get older though...
Hi guys! I rarely share blog posts on here, but I thought this would be useful for anyone who wanted to look at the sizes of the products in the Sephora Sun Safety Kit.
I think this is an awesome deal and you get a wide variety of products. Enjoy!
Do you agree with her views on skincare products? I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay. Examples: - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts. - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse. Products she gave a "poor" rating to: - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid. - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1. - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time... Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.
I was putting some new PC skincare items away when I noticed my Mia was somehow in the sink. Weird, since we had just gotten home and I don't remember knocking it over in the morning. As I finished putting things away, it turned on by itself and would not turn off (respond to the power button) until the 1-minute cycle was done. I could still switch from high to low power though. So somehow it must have turned itself on during the day and vibrated into the sink! I tried adjusting the brush head and plugging in to charge but it would flash, pulse vibrate and repeat, which made me think it was its way of telling me it wouldn't charge. the response to the power button got worse and upon closer inspection I noticed that the grey rubber/silicone button cover had detached and was no longer sealed. Water must have leaked in through the button and damaged the electrical components. And since it is more than 3 years old I doubt Clarisonic will do anything based on what I have read. I Was devastated to lose it and I dreaded having to buy another, but I have been wondering how my skin would do without the Clarisonic because even though it improved my skin 3 years ago, I can tell my skin has been changing to become more sensitive than before. This was the perfect time to try something else so I went out and bought myself a large konjac sponge for $5. I'm hoping my skin won't make a turn for the worse! I have been using a smaller sponge for morning cleansing and have not had problems so hopefully it will work well for my PM routine as well. i am a little nervous being "off" of the Clarisonic so it makes me wonder...who else has stopped using the Clarisonic after a period of time to switch to another cleansing method? What did you do and did you see your skin improve or get worse at all?
Mascara Madness is back at Nordstrom this Saturday the 23rd. Buy 2 get 1 free mascaras! The only "high end" mascara I have used is They're Real by Benefit, and I love it, but I wanna use this sale as an opportunity to try maybe some MAC or Clinique...really anything! I naturally have long lashes, just looking for a mascara that will really darken them and add volume, with no clumping or flaking. What mascaras do you recommend buying from Mascara Madness? What ones are you going to buy!? Thanks beauties
I've never had 'good skin'. I have a number of issues that prevent me from ever wanting to leave the house /without/ makeup. I'm looking for something that can help combat the issues I do have- And, It doesn't have to be just a single product. I wouldn't expect it to be. But, My concerns are as follows, Organized from the highest concern, to the least. The main problem I have is all of the 'scaring' on my cheeks. I don't know if I could actually call them scars, Because they don't have any depth. They are just marks left over from acne- But, the discoloration bothers me. I've attached a photo- But, The camera didn't quite pick up how bad it actually is. Anyways! My other main issue is dark circles. They aren't puffy, They *are* slightly sunken in, and the discoloration is more than obvious. Even underneath makeup. I have the beginning of fine lines and...Anything that could help both of those problems would be highly sought after. Third, And final issue is that of pores. I have slightly enlarged pores, And.. A serum or some such that could help reduce them, I'd also be interested in. For anyone who helps me on this issue- Thank you so very much. Its something I've dealt with for a while.
Trying to find an acne treatment that will not dry out my super sensitive and dry skin. I occasionally get eczema on my face and anything I use to treat that causes even more acne on top of the eczema.
I waxed for the first time (in a salon) on my upper lip yesterday, and now my upper lip is in a whiter tone than the rest of my face and it looks like I have a white moustache. I don't have any white pimples or any other problem, but it looks like a white stripe against my brown skin tone, what can I do about this? I have school tomorrow too :/
Hi! I have always been searching for the best acne product. I have a terrible sensitive skin to the point of frustation. I have tried from Clinique to what most people said as their holy grail, GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD. They did not work on me. I am currently using the origins scne treatments along with its zero oil, cleaner, toner, moisturizer and mask for about weeks or so? But I can't find any improvement at all. I was thinking to buy bosica, but I am still not sure. What is the best acne care product should I use? I'm 19 y/o, with combination skin type. Thank you in advance!
Hello ladies, Hope you all are enjoying the warm weather! I am interested in buying new products or add products to my regiment. So my goal is to get healthy, radiant, even toned skin and not have to use make-up (yet). I am 24 and I am currently using these products: before going to sleep, I wash my face using Tatcha Pure Step Camellia Cleansing Oil (every so often I use my Clarisonic but I was also thinking of getting a new one soon since mine is a little beat up), then I use Peter Thomas Roth Gentle Complexion Correction Pads, then I put Caudalie's Polyphenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil. In the morning I use facial wipes (like by Simple), then I apply the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and at last I put First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration. All of these products have helped me battle dryness during the winter season and I will definitely be buying them again. But I feel like there is something else that can help me with my concerns: acne (rare as it is), the scarring and just the overall health and radiance of my skin. I can definitely say that my skin has improved but usually around my period, I break out and the area I usually break out is around the chin area. What I am looking for is products that will not dry my face out, help even out my tone, get rid of acne, blemishes and scarring, anti-aging (? not sure if it's too early but I have been using products that I am pretty sure fight aging), softness and hydration. I am interested in oils, toners, cleansers (having one for the night and morning since I find it hard to use the Tatcha on the Clarisonic). Anything you ladies recommend, I am eager to look up and try if it will work for me. Thank you!
I have suffered from acne since I was a freshman in high school. I am now a sophomore in high school. I have moderate acne with much redness and just a little scaring. I am tired of nothing working. Does anyone have suggestions?
I have been using It Cosmetics Makeup and the Murad Acne Starter Kit for more than two months. I have oily skin and most of my acne is on my cheeks and jawline. The Murad stuff seems to work a bit, but the acne isn't going away (one blemish turns into post-acne, and another pops up). What am I missing here?
I just started using the Clarisonic Mia and am interested in seeing what everyone does with theirs. 1. Which Clarisionc do you have? 2. How often do you use it? 3. What products work best for you? Cleanser? Exfoliator? 4. What is your skin type? I hope something like this hasn't already been posted recently.
Hello! I've made a purchase today, when i arribed home i try one of the creams and i didn't like ir, it is too geasy for my skin. Can i exchange it for another product if its opened? I do have my recipe with me. Its form south beach store. Thanks!
