Hello My pretties, I am in need of a new facial moisturizer (anti-aging) for everyday wear. I currently use Belief Aqua Bomb and I feel it still leaves me a bit dry and I have combination skin: Oily T-zone and the rest is normal. It also does not provide me with any anti-aging benefits. I am also in need of an eye cream (Currently using Eye dew - I am almost through the container I purchased and I have not noticed any tremendous changes). With so many holiday sets dropping - I am a bit confused as to what to purchase and this is where your help would be greatly appreciated Some information regarding concerns and skin type: - combo/normal skin - concerns: Fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dullness, uneven skin tone - 29 years old Thank you all in advance
Hi everyone, I was looking into buying the DDG Facial Steamer and was wondering what your skincare routines are. Cleanse, steam, mask, serum, moisturizer? Is there any point exfoliating after steaming?
Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations. This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM. A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were. Hope this is useful. *Age - 40 Skin type - oily/combination Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)* 01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used 1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love) 2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love) 3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample) 4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me. Testing) 5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like) 6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer) I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive. General comments - Okay skin. Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts . My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.
I have this bumpy red itchy rash on my right cheek that has fluctuated in severity, but remained, since June. I last posted about it here in June, when it was certainly not as bad. I of course have an appointment with a dermatologist, but I have had to wait months. I am so uncomfortable that I figured I would ask for suggestions from you all. I am 24 years old, have never had issues with my skin, and have always been comfortable going without makeup (until now). Here are the things I have ruled out: clogged pores, acne, allergies. The rash does not respond to cortisone cream or allergy medications, like Benadryl. It doesn't even stop the itching. I have taken my skincare down to the essentials and my standby products, Cerave Hydrating Cleanser and Clinique DD Lotion. So I do not attribute it to product usage. I have also been unable to wear SPF. It seems I am allergic to all of them. I was using Elta MD UV Clear SPF 46, but was attributing irritation to it, so I discontinued use for 8 weeks, but the rash persisted. Just to confirm that I am allergic to the product, I wore it again yesterday, and today I am very itchy and the rash looks more red and irritated. HOWEVER, I do NOT think this product is the culprit, as the irritation persisted when I stopped using it for two months. what gives!!!!
I have been looking for just a regular face wash that removes make up. And most of the one's I see on here are for a certain issue, like acne or blackheads. Well, I have normal to dry skin, I don't really have an acne problem and I've never had a blackhead before in my life, I'm just looking for a regular face wash that removes makeup. Thanks!
I am looking for a good cleanser and mineral SPF moisturizer for everyday use. I am 24 years old with normal to dry skin that is very sensitive. I do suffer from some breakouts, mostly hormonal, and blackheads along my nose. I often get rashes along my jawline and cheeks if a product has silicones, fragrance or chemical spf. In the past, I have used acne cleansers, such as the cult favorite orange Neutrogena cleanser, but i'm just not sure I need an acne fighting cleanser at my age. I have also tried Mario Badescu Enzyme Gel cleanser and I didn't like that. I have most recently tried Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Cleanser, but I'm not totally sold on it, and would love to hear opinions. As far as SPF goes, I broke out from Clinique City Block SPF 25, and Elta MD Broad Spectrum SPF 46 gives me the cheek irritation I mentioned and little bumps all over my face. I am ultimately seeking an SPF that plays wells with makeup over top. Because my skin can tend to be dry, I'm okay with the idea of mixing it in with my moisturizer! All suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
Hey ladies, I was hoping someone might help me set up a new skin routine. Once I finish using up samples I plan to buy new full size products and really get down a good system. Something like this Morning: Antioxidant product. Sunscreen or Sunscreen moisturizer. Night: Acne product one night Moisturizer Retinol product another night. Moisturizer to go with that. My issue is picking the products and making sure they all pair up. So nights I use retinol I don't want to be using a moisturizer with lots of actives in it that could combat each other or inflame my skin. So I definitely need product recommendations for things. I know I'm super interested in Sunday Riley products, and I won't rule out any good drug store options. Also don't need mask recs, I have so many masks to use up it'll take me at least a year. Thank you, anyone who takes the time to help.
Does anyone have any suggestions for extremely sensitive dry skin? I have tried every drug store moisturizer and even keihls, lancome, estee lauder, philosophy. Nothing works. My dermatologist is struggling as well, everything burns, I mean eye watering burn, when it hits my skin. Within a few seconds my face is beet red, my rosacea flares up and then I get acne a few days later. My skin has been so dry lately and im starting to get fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes, so I know I need to do something. But nothing agrees with me! Anyone have similar issues or a miracle skin treatment? The last rx caused me to get cystic acne on my forehead and chin, it's just now clearing up and I am hopeful that something will work!
Last night I saw someone (gloss13?) ask on the Luxury Skincare thread, would you pay $1k for a skincare product... and through the conversation that ensued, a few people pointed out that their entire routines might add up to that amount. So, it got me thinking... if I were to add up my entire daily skincare routine, where would I be at on that spectrum? I have some guesses, but I have a feeling this will still be an eye opener for me (and probably for many others, too). I'm only going to go by total product cost, not normalized for daily usage, because nobody's got time for that! I'll write down everything I use in a day and edit my total in here. Please feel free to come share your skincare snapshots with me
I was thinking we should have an "official" NUDE Skincare thread, in case something comes out from this new NUDE story that is happening lately. ( And even if not. ) So we can follow it all here. There are some threads, but those are more just questions and inquiries about NUDE stuff. It would be easier to have all things NUDE at one place, so we can all share news, updates, those possible new products, and anything NUDE here. This is an announcement on Beautycounter about NUDE Skincare: "It is with great excitement that we announce Counter Brands, LLC, parent company of Beautycounter, has acquired the worldwide assets of NUDE Skin Care, Inc. and NUDE Brands, Ltd. founded by Ali Hewson, the wife of musician and social activist, Bono. As a result of this deal, and their genuine interest in our products and mission, Bono will join the company as an investor and Ms. Hewson will join the Board of Directors of Counter Brands, LLC. Similar to our partnership with Target, this validation from such respected public figures will lead to increased brand awareness and client base. We are thrilled to have them join our team. The synergy between our two companies – from mission to ingredient selection process – makes NUDE a logical and compelling addition to our growing brand portfolio. We believe that incredible things are possible for our business and our unwavering advocacy work in D.C. For the foreseeable future, the Beautycounter and NUDE lines will exist as they do today." They also said: "“We will continue to sell through their existing channels of distribution,” Renfrew said of Nude. “The idea is to grow the channels of distribution as well as the product line as a whole,” she said." Also: "NUDE products are currently available in the US on Sephora.com, across Europe in Space.NK stores and online, in Australia in Mecca stores and Mecca.com." Response from Sephora's CS ( 6/30/2016 ): "The Nude Skin care line has been highly anticipated with our clients, and we can certainly appreciate your interest! At this time, some of the NUDE products are limited edition and will be on our site as supplies last, while other products are on our site to stay! We suggest staying tuned to Sephora's promotional emails, as new product launches are frequently announced via email. Additionally, keep checking back on our website under the Quick Link "Just Arrived"." If you have any news, please feel free to share them here. If you have questions, post them here, and hopefully someone will have answers. Or we can all "investigate" together and try to find out what's cooking.
Hi! So, I've been trying a sample of the GlamGlow Supercleanse Daily Clearing Cleanser since I'm in the market for a new cleanser. I have combination/oily/sensitive skin and my chin gets easily congested (I know it's hormonal based and I am taking birth control for it, but it still gets congested). I can get cystic pimples pretty easily there. After using it for 3-4 days at night only, I've been getting a pretty bad reaction to it. My whole face burns, and bumps are appearing on my face with some white heads too. The area around my lips also became super dry. Anyone else have this kind of reaction to it? I've also been trying Thirstycleanse and that hasn't given me any reaction at all, it's quite nice actually.
I've been thinking about purchasing some products from the skincare brand Rodial for a while. I see the brand a lot on the Ulta website, but have never tried it. Has anyone tried it, and what are your thoughts on it??
I use Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer and RCMA No color setting powder and I've noticed that my under eye after makes my eyes look old and wrinkled. I feel like by setting my under eye with power I look aged. What can I do to prevent this. I want to be able to look more youthful. Am I not using the products right?
I recently started using the Drunk Elephant Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, about a few weeks ago. And each time I use it, I notice I get these deep subsurface bumps on my jawline. itchy and pretty painful. Has anyone else experienced this with this product? I'm not sure if its an allergic reaction, or what. I figured my skin may be purging at first, but this does not hardly seem worth it for a product that was $100. Attaching a photo to show my areas of concern. No idea what it is!
i've seen this type of question asked more generally, but i wanted to ask it specific to skincare. not only is it interesting to see what has really worked for people, but it'll maybe highlight some products others are interested in trying ! so: what are specific products that would cause you to hyperventilate were you to run out ? mine currently are: cleansers CLINIQUE take the day off cleansing balm (makeup removal) NUDE SKINCARE perfect cleanse omega cleansing jelly (skin cleanser) PIXI glow mud cleanser toners (acids & hydrating) FIRST AID BEAUTY facial radiance pads (AHA) PIXI glow tonic (AHA) CAUDALIE beauty elixir (moisture) MURAD essential-c toner (moisture) oils and serums CLARINS lotus facial oil DRUNK ELEPHANT B-hydra complex serum MURAD rapid age spot and pigment lightening serum (for, obviously, pigment lightening) moisturizers AVEDA botanical kinetics hydrating face lotion AVEDA botanical kinetics soft creme (for p.m.) masks (i like to have an arsenal for different purposes) REN glycol lactic radiance renewal mask (resurfacing) OLE HENRIKSEN lemon strip flash peel (resurfacing: hardcore) PETER THOMAS ROTH rose stem cell mask (hydrating / soothing / toning / brightening) PIXI glow mud mask to be fair...i think this is a LOT to be considered truly HG. but you guys know i have a lot of steps in my daily routine, and these are tried-and-true loves of mine ! edited 6/16/16
I am trying to get some skin care for my girlfriend. She is really into that stuff. However, I am getting pretty lost in all of this? Can people recommend some products? Also, I am super curious as to what makes these products good. Thanks. Also she is blond and she in her late 20s.
Hello all! I've been gone for awhile but I of course severely went through BT withdrawal! So before I post my general question to the group, I need to reference these two recent incidents I experienced.: 1. The Sephora SA doing my makeover suggested I start using night cream for my eyes. Hello!!! I'm only 36 years old, I have never really taken care of my face except for a ever so needed makeup wipe at the end of the day. Her advice was like brick to my face. 2. After getting a recent facial my t-zone was a dry crumply mess. (btw, never happened before) It not only hurt but my face was bright red. So with that being said, I have adopted using the products below per suggestions for others. And it got me to thinking. I would love to know your routines! Please post your morning and/or evening routines with pics if possible. I will heart everyone's first post to this thread so we can hopefully get the discussion going. Can' wait to hear what all of you have to share! My bedtime skincare routine:
So for years I would use all the items in one skincare line when I used that line......I currently am trying the Lancer Skincare regime and I love the cleanser and polish.....my skin feels amazing even after a few days....but I have found that the moisturizer is just not "rich" enough for my skin as I have very dry cheeks and jawline.....I am wondering what everyone's thoughts are on using the first two steps of "The Method" plus a different moistuizer/serum/facial oil? I hope this does not come across as a silly question but I always had this idea that all products in a specific line were made to be working in synergy but maybe this is just a ploy to get me to use all the products in one line?!
Hi! I am 32 and have been dating a lovely guy for a while: but he lives on the other side of the city! This means I am often getting ready for the bed or for the day at his place. I do keep skin care and makeup at his house, but it isn't the same stuff I have at my place. My question is: do I need to keep identical skin care products at each place? Is it bad if I end up using a wide variety of products on my face every week? I also often get ready at the gym, so I have a whole different variety of products in my gym bag. I would love to hear how others manage this!
I have combination/oily skin with just occasional breakouts. I was looking for a product to help even out my skin tone and keep acne under control. A sales associate suggested Oe Henriksen Aloe Vera Deep Cleanser & Grease Relief Face Tonic. However, it totally made my skin breakout! I was thinking of trying the Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser, but I'm thinking maybe my skin just doesn't like natural products. I have also tried Orgins Checks & Balances and that made me breakout as well. However, I have used the Fresh Rose Toner and Korres Greek Yogurt products without problems. Is there a difference between these natural products? Thanks!
What is the best makeup-removing cleansing balm, cleansing oil or cleansing milk? I wear foundation and I need something that actually dissolves makeup and doesn't just glide over it. I like Eve Lom's Cleanser, but want to try something new.
I am 45 and looking for a skincare line that is right for me. My skin has been acting up lately - probably because of trying new products to find the right one. I am looking for a line that would help me with anti-aging issues, dry skin and small breakouts around the nose area. It is not rosacea I have been told, but definitely irritated skin. So bottom line is my skin is sensitive and dry. I would like to try a line that is paraben free and more on the natural side, but I understand some of the chemicals are needed for the anti-aging. Any advise is greatly appreciated!!! Thank you in advance for any info you all can give me.
Hi! I am looking for a new cleanser. I had a little trouble with acne, but have gotten it mostly under control but want to keep it that way. My main concern now is evening out my skin tone. I have oily skin and am 23 years old. I tried the Shiseido Purifying Cleanser, but it made my skin feel "squeaky" after rinsing. A couple I was thinking of trying based on my concerns were: boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash Has anyone tried both or have any other suggestions? Thanks!
I'm 24 years old, dry/combination skin. I have hereditary dark under eyes, easily get black heads on my nose, and often get congested on my forehead. I have very minor discoloration from acne scars past, but texture isn't a huge problem for me. My skincare routine includes the Clinique 3 Step system for dry/combination skin - mild facial soap, clarifying toner, and moisturizing lotion+ (however, I've heard foaming facial cleansers contain detergent, and are too harsh for the skin... so I'm open to new cleanser suggestions). I use FAB Radiance Pads a few times a week, I use my Clarisonic with the sensitive brush head a few times a week, GlamGlow Supermud if/when I'm breaking out, and I also use Bobbi Brown's Hydrating Eye Cream. I recently went into my Sephora and got samples of the Drunk Elephant Framboos Glycolic Serum and the Boscia Self-Defense Vital Antioxidant Moisture SPF 30, which so far, both seem amazing. So, my next question is, should I discontinue use of my FAB Facial Radiance Pads if I'm using the serum 3-ish times a week?
here is a little background of me: my skin type is (very) oily, acne-prone and very sensitive. I can get irritated or break out easily if I use a product that contains too many alcohol, fragrance and parabens. I am all about 100% organic products. I really3x want to find a skin care product which contains no parabens and fragrance. For more specific, I'm searching for moisturizer and serum. Any suggestion or recommendation?
Hi all! Has anyone else experienced actual skin peeling when using Good Genes?? I had this problem with Luna as well, though so far, the peeling w/ Good Genes is more minimal (Luna gave me red skin AND peeling). Is this normal? If so, does it subside after my skin gets used to the product? For reference, I've used Drunk Elephant's Glycolic Nightly Peel w/ no actual skin peeling issues. And have used Sunday Riley's Artemis, which is not a peel of course, with no issues.
I just started using the Clarisonic Mia and am interested in seeing what everyone does with theirs. 1. Which Clarisionc do you have? 2. How often do you use it? 3. What products work best for you? Cleanser? Exfoliator? 4. What is your skin type? I hope something like this hasn't already been posted recently.
Anyone taking advantage of the Shiseido Bonus - never used their products before. Purchase 2 or more skincare products, receive a skincare bonus of your choice: Ibuki, Bio-Performance, White Lucent, Pureness, and Benefiance. I think Ibuki is sold out.
