Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations. This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM. A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were. Hope this is useful.
*Age - 40
Skin type - oily/combination
Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*
01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used
1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)
2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)
3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)
4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me. Testing)
5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)
6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)
I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.
General comments - Okay skin. Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts . My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.
Tonight was simple.
PM:
Omorovicza facial polisher (sample)
Mila Moursi toner
Mila Moursi Refining Lotion
Mila Moursi Dual Action Serum
Forgot to post last night...
When using the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser do you follow up with the 1970 afterward ?

Spritz of Chantecaille Rose water all over face and neck
Lancome Absolute Bx Eyecream
Chantecaille Vital Essence Serum

Lightweight hydration gel/moisturizer (whatever sample I have on hand)

Night:

Spritz of Chantecaille Rosewater
Eye cream sample packett ( I have a bunch)
Face oil mixed with beauty serum of any type that address firming, lines, hyper-pigmentation, etc)
Algenist Night cream for dry skin
It takes 5 minutes to do either and the amount needed to layer is very small. Working through samples in order to pare down to the tried and true products that deliver. I have others that I'm rotating but my routine is the same. Add a mask here and there....my goal is to incorporate Rx retin A when I've used up ALL lotions and potions for night use.
Skin Type: dehydrated with an oily t-zone (Fun times)
AM:
May Lindstrom Honey Mud Cleanser
Drunk Elephant (DE) Vit C Treatment
Algenist Genius Eye Cream
Sarah Chapman Dynamic Defense Cream
PM: Non AHA/BHA Mask Nights:
KGD Spa Water
Lancome Bi Facils Eye makeup remover
Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse
Sarah Chapman Liquid Resurfacer
Algenist Retinol Firming and Lifting Serum
Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial
Trish McEvoy Retinol Eye Treatment
*If I need extra hydration, I'll use May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon.
PM: After Masking with an AHA/BHA:
KGD Spa Water
Lancome Bi Facils Eye makeup remover
Sarah Chapman Ultimate Cleanse
Masks: rotate between May Lindstrom The Problem Solver or Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask with Honey
May Lindstrom Youth Dew Serum
May Lindstrom Blue Cocoon
Trish McEvoy Retinol Eye Treatment
A couple weeks ago, I finished the SC Liquid Resurfacer and started using the DE Glycolic Serum. They should be doing the same type of thing. My skin basically told me to get it together and reincorporate the SC back in. The DE didn't work "as well" at keeping texture away. I much prefer the SC product; it's cheaper, and you get more product. It was a good experiment.
Age:27
Skin Type: Dry to Normal
Current Skin Condition: dry and dehydrated
AM:
Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar (obsessed)
Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence
Perricone High Potency Amine Face Lift (LOVE)
Caudalie Resveratrol Eye Balm
Drunk Elephant LaLa Moisturizer
PM:
Caudalie Cleansing Oil
Drunk Elephant Pekee Bar with Clarisonic
Perricone Pre Empt Exfoliating Pore Toner
Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum
Cadualie Resveratrol Soft Cream
Caudalie Resveratrol Eye Balm
Drunk Elephant Marula Oil (if needed)
During the week i'll do a few different masks and treatments depending on what I feel my skin needs
- Drunk Elephant Baby Facial (1x per week)
- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Overnight Recovery Pads (1-2x per week)
- Boscia Pore Pudding ( 1x per week just in T zone)
- Perricone Cocoa Mask (2x per week)
- Murad Resurfacing Pads (when needed, usually use overnight)
I've been using this routine for about 6 months with the addition of the Baby Facial when it came out. My hyperpigmentation is almost all gone and I'm really loving my skin. I plan on getting the Drunk Elephant eye serum when I finish up my Caudalie to switch it up a bit.
AM:
Water & Washcloth Cleanse
Erborian Yuza Double Lotion (Essence)
Perricone Cold Plasma
Perricone OVM
Guerlain Abielle Royale Eye Cream (DS)
Lancome Visionnaire Day Moisturizer (new)
Last Night PM:
Rodial StemCell Super Food Cleanser/Mask
Pixi Glow Tonic
Erborian Yuza Double Lotion (Essence)
Perricone Cold Plasma
Guerlain Abielle Royale Eye Cream (DS)
Lancome Visionnaire Day Moisturizer (new)
Kind of disappointed in the Rodial - got a nice size GWP sometime within the last year (I'm pretty sure) but the product has clearly dehydrated some. Still wanted to try it and will see if I can get a few more uses out of it, so I did a mask and cleanse with it. Nice but not amazing so far. Did anyone else get the same GWP - I'm thinking maybe it was Saks - or has used this product? I also tried adding water and see if it will plump back up though I know it's oil-based.
I've realized that my skin doesn't react too well to a lot of changes, so I'm mostly trying to stay pretty consistent. However, I'm reaching the end of some items, with a LOT of stuff in my "inventory" so I'll try to keep track of how it goes. I think it just sometimes breaks out when something new is introduced, but then settles into a new routine. At least I know now that it can be in pretty good shape. So, I need to remind myself if problems persist, I'll go back to previous products instead of trying to fit a round peg in the square hole - or something like that!
February 9 PM
27, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
Tatcha Camellia oil cleanser
Nude Omega jelly cleanser
Caudalie Premier Cru eye cream
Sunday Riley Tidal
The Ordinary hylauronic acid serum
Herbivore Coco Rose spritz
Drink so much water and take 4 Omega 3s at least once a day. If skin is concerning me I take 4 in AM, then 4 in PM
Age: 29
Skin Type: Dry to Normal
Condition: Solid. Dermatitis around eyes is clearing, finally, so I do think the orange oil in my balm cleanser was contributing. Which is a shame because I loved it so much. Thinking of replacing it with Clinique TTDO, but I need to check the ingredients first.
AM:
Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser
Timeless 20% Vitamin C/E/Ferulic
Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid
La Mer Treatment Lotion
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra
Murad Hydro Dynamic Moisturizer
PM:
Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser
Drunk Elephant Glycolic Serum
La Mer Treatment Lotion
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra
Murad Hydro Dynamic Moisturizer
LXMI Creme du Nil - Trialing 2nd DS
Went a bit overboard with moisturizer tonight because the temperature dropped almost 40 degrees from yesterday and the wind is whipping. I needed a little extra TLC tonight and I'm hoping the shea butter in LXMI will do the trick.
February 8 2017 PM
Tatcha Camellia cleansing oil
Nude Omega jelly cleanser
PTR pumpkin enzyme mask, kinda used it as a scrub to get at some dry flakiness, then left on while I brushed my teeth
FAB oatmeal mask
Herbivore Coco Rose spritz
Sunday Riley Tidal
Caudalie Premier Cru eye cream
The Ordinary hylauronic acid serum to top it all off and hopefully seal in lots of moisture
PM
Treated my skin tonight:
28 - combo (oily/dry; it will surprise me)
Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm
May Lindstrom Problem Solver
Mila Moursi pH Balancing Toner
Erno Lazlo sheet mask
Kypris 1000 roses oil
Sisley black rose mask
I went to Bali on vacation in November and my skin did not appreciate the drastic changes in environment. It is finally getting back to normal. Each produt listed is a regular item right now (though it was my last sheet mask).
Ola comostas!
Age - 41
Skin Condition - Like a baby Unicorn's plump cheeks- but no one would know. The appendage growing on my forehead has taken over. It is now being tracked by Russian satellites as a possible nuclear plant construction. They are not very wrong.
PM Skincare - 02/08/17
1. Tata Harper Nourishing OIl Cleanser
2. Biologique Recherche P50 PIGM 400. New product. Mini details in spoiler
3. Indie Lee CoQ toner
4. Vintners Daughter serum
5. DDG Ferulic+Retinol eye cream
6. Aurelia Cell Repair Night oil
All is good in the world, except that horn on my forehead.
sorry about the bug bite @greenchilli!! mosquitoes love me, so i can realte 😕
i am super curious about the biologique! i'd love to hear your opinion after a few weeks of use. i have some stubborn acne scars/hyperpigmentation that i just can't get rid of, and i'm not loving the paula's choice liquid BHA.
Thanks @unfungirl!
About the Biologique - I will definitely keep you posted. Feel free to ping me in a few weeks if I haven't. I can be quite scatterbrained, and as you know...I am mutating.
wonderul, thanks @greenchilli!!
maybe you will get some super x-men powers as a result of your mutation! 😛
@greenchilli the Russian satellite comment ahaha thats a gem! Also, pretty sure theres a second site happening on my forehead too...
I am feeling the wrath of Texas bugs. The insects here are definitely bigger.
I have been on steroid and antibiotics, but whatever stung me on my forehead got me good. I might be several days away from healing still.
My head looks like a beacon crying for help. My mother ship might save me afterall.....
@greenchilli oh no!! I hope the cream starts to work, that sucks!! Mine is a giant crater of a zit..just when my skincare is really starting to work, I get a stupid, hormonal that-time-of-the-month zit. In the spirit of what you said, I feel like a lighthouse guiding ships through the fog lol
I wonder what kind of bugaboo got ya!
Skin type: oily sensitive
1. Bioderma to do first cleanse
2. Philosophy Clear Days Ahead cleanser
3. Some sort of mask, I've been alternating between Glam Glow and Fresh Vitamin
4. Son & Park Beauty Water (to get any traces of makeup left and to tone)
5. Wander Beauty Glow Getter Mist (extra hydration and to sooth my skin)
6. Holika Holika aloe gel or Murad skin perfecting lotion
I have a question about chemical exfoliation...
I'm almost done with my 1 oz. Good Genes bottle and towards the middle to the end of the bottle, I feel like I'm not seeing anymore brightening or plumping effects. Good Genes nowadays doesn't sting my face at all. I don't feel a thing when I use Good Genes. Is that weird? My family and friends all tell me that they always get some stinging every time they use Good Genes.
I find it pretty weird that I don't feel a thing when I use high percentages of AHA or BHA but when it comes to lower percentages, I can feel some stinging. For example, First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads (~5% AHA blend) stings my face more than Good Genes (~40% Lactic acid - according to Caroline Hirons because of the pH level). Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos (12% AHA) does not do anything for my skin either.
