Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Often people ask for recommendations on a skincare routine or for specific products/combinations.  This might be a place to share your everyday skincare, both AM and PM.  A skincare "what are you wearing" as it were.  Hope this is useful.

*Age - 40

Skin type - oily/combination

Current skin condition - quite dehydrated (winter/indoor heating)*

01/17/16 - AM skincare in the order I used

1. Nude Jelly cleanser (love)

2. Pixi Glow tonic (5% glycolic toner - love)

3. Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Spritz (sample)

4. Radical Skincare Youth Infusion serum - hydrating and anti-ageing (new to me.  Testing)

5. Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream (like)

6. Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine cream (really like as an AM moisturizer)

I will try to post PM skincare tonight so the post can be comprehensive.

General comments - Okay skin.  Apparently the age between 38-42 is a transformational time in hormones (dehydrated skin/spots), so I am more aware of how my skin performs/reacts .  My skincare definitely has more "actives" now than before.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

laynebr, I've been using it now for at least 2 months I think, and I love it.

At first I didn't really think it was doing much, but the number of times people have started telling me I look bright-eyed, well-rested, etc has dramatically increased since I started using it.

Also, it works really well with my concealer routine and leaves the area moisturized but not sticky or greasy.

I haven't really found a dud in their products yet.  The only one I haven't been as impressed with was the lip balm, and there's nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't blow me away like some of the other stuff does.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Thanks for the update on it! I've been meaning to give this a try.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Skin doing well.  Adding a humidfier and really overhauling winter hydration has helped mitigate all this winter dryness.

We were out late last night with a lot of smoke and "stuffiness" around.  So my PM skincare delivered (acid, sulphur, retinol, hyarulonic acid, omegas, peptides galore).

02/06/16 - PM Skincare

1. NUDE Omega jelly cleanser

2. P50

3. Zelens Youth Serum

4. Ren Omega 3 Optimum serum oil

5. Algenist Genius Eye cream

6. Sjal Kuri Intuitif Intense Hydrating Cream

AM skincare today was standard.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Age - 31

Skin Type - Normal/Dry, slightly sensitive

Current Skin Condition - Dehydrated

My everyday AM skincare doesn't change much -

Cleanser - FAB face wash

Moisturizer - FAB Moisturizer, if my skin is particularly dry, I will switch to the FAB lotion, or add in the NUDE oil  (point perk).

Sunscreen by an Indian brand

I'm not particular about eye cream, but sometimes I use the Fresh eye cream (I think I got it as a point perk).

PM

Remove makeup - I used to use Bioderma, but forgot to repurchase, and am currently using the REN Cleansing Balm - this one works ok, but stings my eyes 😞

Second Cleanse - Either Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, or First Aid Beauty face cleaser

Toner - Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid - LOVE this stuff, it has made a huge difference to my skin. I don't really feel the need to do a weekly exfoliating treatment anymore. If I feel like it, I just use KATE Somerville's Exfolikate about once a month.

Moisturizer - FAB Moisturizer

Eye Cream - Fresh eye cream or Pai Eye Cream depending on what I see first 🙂

Kiehls Midnight Recovery Concentrate - I've been using this stuff for about a year and 3 months now - love it!

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

hey njattana -- is there are reason why you think it's the mask on not the the CT cream you used ? her creams are quite heavy and loaded with shea butter, for one, which is a common skin congestion.......

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

My skin is dehydrated and felt very dry and tight. Was so desperate I thought I would give Olay regenerist serum a try.  It has helped to my surprise.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Combination but very dehydrated skin
Age 40

This is the PM routine:

Clairsonic/Yes to Blueberries cleanser (drug store, the only cleanser I've tried that isn't drying)
May Coop Raw Sauce
FAB Facial Radiance pads OR Perricone Blue Plasma (acid toner step)
Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturinizing Lotion
Mizon All-in-One Snail Repair Cream
Perricone MD Cold Plasma moisturizer
Perricone Acyl-Glutathione Eye Serum
Retin-A (prescription retinol - I use this most nights)
Sunday Riley Juno Oil (my irreplaceable workhorse oil)

On the nights I don't use Retin-A I usually swap in a hydrating sleeping mask as my last step. I'm currently rotating a few - Sulwhasoo Overnight Vitalizing mask, Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, Nude Skincare Advanced renewal Overnight Repair.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Graham, you just blew my mind.

You're 40???? 😯  You look (and I thought you were) 25, at most.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Mocha, do you realize you've just MADE MY DECADE???

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I am 23 with combination skin. My t-zone is typically a little bit oily but my cheeks and around my nose are quite dry.

Morning Routine:

-FAB Cleanser

-Burt's Bee's Rose Toner

- Claudalie Radiance Serum

-Kiehls Avacado Eye Cream

- Fresh Youth Preserve Cream

Nightime

-Fab Cleanser

-Claudalie Hydrating Toner

-Sunday Riley Good Genes

-Kiehls Avacado Eye Cream

-Fresh Seaberry Serum

Right now my skin has been pretty good. I use clarifying and hydrating masks about 2-3 times a week. My only problem I am trying to fight is pesky blackheads on my nose and chin.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I wore makeup today - so hydrated extra.  Nothing else very different this morning.

Skincare thoughts:

So, I will be 41 next month.  My skin goals now and always, in the order of importance are:

1. Luminosity

2. Smooth texture

3. Even skintone

4. Avoid pre-mature wrinkles

Most products (especially acids and serums) address all 4 to varying degrees.  So that is convenient.  I can't be bothered about wrinkles at all.  I don't find them ageing in the same way dull skin can be.  But as one addresses the first 3, the 4th is taken care of as well.

Onwards....

Mid 20s. Combo with mild rosacea. Started peeling today and a lovely hormonal breakout showed up on my chin. It feels like it's going to be one of those painful cystic types. Urgh.

Pretty basic today. Eh.

*Not for me. Going to replace once used up.
**New product for me.

Thoughts: Used up by Skinceuticals CE Ferulic, going to start adding Drunk Elephant's C Firma as a replacement. My skin is exfoliating like crazy since I started the Drunk Elephant TLC. It's been almost two months since I used an acid. Had to stop because of some medications I was taking. I need to add a calming/hydrating serum. Does anyone have suggestions? Must be fragrance and essential oil free. Both cause my rosacea to flare up.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

For calming only (not hydrating), Dalphin's Intral serum is the best I've ever used in my life. My skin's doing well these days (aka not currently suffering any reaction), so I'm not currently using it, but this is a serum I always purchase whenever my skin's reacting to something (stress, not enough nutrition, most often new skincare products).

I'm not sure it's fragrance free.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I'll look into it thank you!

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

dziggi,

If you like oils, Sunday Riley "Juno" is a good option.  It is made for sensitive skin and is essential oil/fragrance free.  It has quality ingredients (and can work as serum+moisturizer for some).

But like any product, make sure it doesn't irritate your skin.  I have to be quite careful about using oils myself, so I haven't tried Juno........yet.

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

I keep going back and forth between wanting to try something from Sunday Riley. I really like the packaging (I know, so cliche of me) but I'm not really sold on the brand. I remember trying Good Genes and loathing it. I've never had such a strong reaction to product in my life. I just tossed the sample away. I'll look into Juno, try to get a sample of it. Thank you!

Re: Daily Skincare - what are you using?

Skin has been unusually cooperative and nice looking excepting a little redness on my chin. This is fairly normal and is much less than it has been in the past.

I had a couple minor bumps that I think were from my BB cushion (Laneige), so not sure if I want to continue with that when I am done with this cushion (it came with a backup). When I took a break from it for a few days the little bumps went away - this is why I think it was that (even though I am rotating serums, they are all ones I have used before with no problem).

I have been doing the usual AM routine with the substitution of a random serum sample (mostly NUDE serum) for the OH Vitamin C serum (I ran out - I don't think I will rebuy though)

PM has been mostly the same, it has been warm so I have foregone any moisturizer, but if it gets cold/dry again I will use it.

Tonight I am also doing the Ren glycol/lactic peel, followed by a rose mask, then the rest of my skincare steps.
