I had a Costco membership in the past, but they did not sell many of the items I purchased (including Pampers, which I heard they've rectified now that I no longer need to buy them). I am happy with Sam's, so I will hold off on Costco for now. I will say that I buy Egyptian Magic when I get a deal. The last time I purchased it and a few other things from Beauty (online), I got a 29 piece GWP. No regrets paying full price with that deal.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

So i had never used the MJ highliner.  And i wanted to hate this stuff. I really did lol I wanted to not be able to justify the price point for it. BUT. The minute my box came i went straight to the office bathroom and put it on. It did not budge all day. SO. That being said, i would probably pay $50 for it because I have serious issues with keeping eye liner on my waterline. That stuff is AMAZING!! I had tried the BB hair primer in the past and i already loved it. The lip ink is awesome. I already have a couple of other shades and I really like the formula. The only problem that I have with it, at least on me, is it doesn't last as long as I would like it to. I am not a big fan of glam glow ( i know i know ) so that already has a new home to go to, and the Nirvana white was decent. I am wearing it today to see how i end up feeling about it!

I am a long time fan of MJ Highliners and I regularly redeem the 100 point deluxe sample sizes whenever they're available (same size as in the Play box).

I was also lucky enough to pick up the Highliner LE set recently - totally missed out last year.

Did y'all notice the Highliners are totally out of stock on Sephora.com now?  I guess Play worked too well!  Smiley Wink

This eyeliner though....is seriously amazing. Love love love the formula!

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I was hoping the eyeliner would suck for the same reasons as you stated. Now I want to get the white one for my waterline. I have a problem with eyeliner in my waterline transferring onto my contact lenses. It's very annoying, especially when I'm driving.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I do love the MJ highliner.  I snagged a few when they were 100 point perks and loved them so much that I bought a full sized in the Luna(Tic) which is really pretty and glides on nicely but unfortunately doesn't show up color wise as much as I'd hoped on my eyelids.  The formula really is great though and if you like doing a smokey eye it smudges out really well.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

I feel the same way as you about the MJ liner!! And that's definitely a brand I've never received in any other subscription box, so I was most excited to try that. I never usually end up buying full size products with any other subscription beauty boxes, but I have a feeling I will now... Smiley Very Happy

I had posted this photo in other Play! discussions, but here's a closer look at the products included for those who haven't received their box yet.

I don't usually end up buying full sized items of subscription box items either (not because I'm against it - I certainly would - but because most of the times the brands or items don't appeal to me), but I have a feeling it's going to happen a lot with Sephora Play if the first box is any indication.  I love MJ, Ole Henriksen, GlamGlow and some Bumble and Bumble products so the range of brands is definitely really appealing to me.

Re: Play! By Sephora Subscription Box Review And Discussion

Mine isn't coming till Friday...Friday will be September 26th.  I'm super bummed to have to pay on the 9th & then have to wait 2 and a half  weeks.

Is this going to be the norm? Smiley Sad

Maeghan, that's how the majority of sub boxes work. I pay for my box (Birchbox, Boxycharm, Ipsy) somewhere between the 1st and 5th of the month and then get the box anywhere from the 15th to the 27th of the month. This is just the way that subscription boxes work. Smiley Happy

I am loving this first box. It seems like everyone got the same box, but I wonder if that is going to be the norm of if it is just in the beta program.

The way they have marketed to date leads me to believe that we're all going to be receiving a set box.  Not to mention the way the booklet is printed (if they continue with that) it's hard to imagine them coming up with them for as many combinations as Birchbox has, a single printed card seems easier.

I really hope they reconsider that in the future, especially for skin care I prefer getting things more geared towards my individual needs, not that Birchbox is always dead on but it is close-ish.

I agree. This looks super exciting, but I will be less excited over time if all the boxes are the same. Even when I dislike Birchbox items, I understand based on my profile why I received them. It took me a while to understand why I kept getting curly hair treatments until someone explained it was that I selected my hair is frizzy (it is), but it is only curly on the underside and wavy on top. That makes pulling off curly hair products difficult. My hair has a hard time looking curly.

Lucky! I received my box today but mine was missing two items. Sephora issued a refund but I'm super bummed.
