allwhite 7.11.jpg
Happy Mani Friday! After all of the festivities last weekend, today I just wanted something simple and clean, so I decided on an easy mani using Formula X White Matter (a perfect, pure opaque white).   What are you rockin' on your tips this weekend? Show and Tell!
wnw roadtrip 7.9.jpg
Hey BT! For today's #WNW, Lauren from our product editorial team is here with her road trip picks. Check them out!     "Summer means impromptu road trips, backyard barbecues, and days by the water. Before I hop in the car (or on a plane), I want to be prepared: hair maintenance, heat, makeup touch ups, and whatever comes my way. These beauty go-tos leave me feeling carefree about my beauty needs!"   Sephora Collection The Vacationer "First thing’s first: Get organized. The Vacationer ensures that I’m set for those random road trips to the cabin or to an inn by the sea. This chic, zippered case (I have the teal one) has compartments for holding your best-loved skincare and makeup essentials, and it’s waterproof for klutzes like me."   Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Travel Kit "From long trips to beach bonfires, I never want to look run-down. Travel-sized, this volumizing, conditioning, and smoothing shampoo, conditioning, and styling treatment kit keeps my hair looking polished; plus, it’s color-safe so that my lightened up do stays glowing."   Verso Skincare Verso Travel Series "I’m thinking of the future these days, and this trio’s foaming cleanser, day cream, and night cream have it all. The cleanser removes impurities, and the day cream and night cream rejuvenate skin and work to reverse visible signs of aging with their Retinol 8 and a Vitamin A complex. I’m definitely packing away these three so that my skin stays looking refreshed from rest stop to rest stop."    Eyeko Me & My Shadow Waterproof Shadow Liner "Wherever I end up going, I never want my makeup to melt off. One of my favorites is this 12-hour wear, waterproof shadow liner by Eyeko. It’s a cinch to apply, and its built-in blending brush makes it easy to create smoky eye looks. Just draw it on, smudge, and go!"   What's new on the site that you've got your eye on this week? Show and Tell!

wnw tanners 6.11.jpg
"Check out the latest in sunless self-tanners for face and body and get ready for the warm weather. It’s time to show off a glorious tan, but if you were stuck inside all winter (like most of us) instead of developing the perfect golden glow, you’ll love these innovative, natural, and foolproof products that will have you looking bronzed in no time." - Kris     tarte Maracuja Bronzing Serum "This gradual bronzer incorporates the power of maracuja oil right into the formula so it conditions the skin and creates instant radiance as it gradually darkens your tone for a natural-looking and streak-free tan. It also has a nice floral citrus scent instead of the chemical smell of most self-tanners."   Sephora Collection Gradual Self-Tanning Body Lotion "Of course, the perfect tan doesn’t end at the neck. This hydrating formula incorporates HydroSenn+™ to give the skin a beautiful golden, natural glow without streaks or a greasy feel. The tan darkens naturally with each application and then fades naturally when you stop using it."   tarte Brazilliance Skin Rejuvenating Maracuja Self Tanning Face Towelettes "Want to get the glorious tan of tarte’s Brazilliance™ tanner in a convenient to-go package? These towelettes are perfect for travel and offer a flawless tan to the face and neck without the mess. fathersday 6.4.jpg
Happy WNW BeautyTalk! Today our product writer Kris is back to share his picks for Father's Day.      "Father’s Day is fast approaching and we all know how hard it is to shop for that guy! Here are a few great new items any dad would be proud to get, so break the tie-giving tradition and surprise him with something luxurious and fun that he’ll actually use. It’s just your way of saying, “Thanks, dad!”'   FOREO LUNA™ For Men "This high-tech cleansing tool is made especially for men. It features two settings to cleanse and fight the signs of aging. The deep cleansing pulses leave skin smoother and softer, reducing the chances of razor burn and making dad’s face feel more awake and alive. The lower-frequency antiaging pulses stimulate the skin and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and who wouldn't want that?"   Acqua Di Parma Collezione Barbiere After Shave Balm "This balm is the bomb! It’s lightweight and fast-absorbing to provide instant relief, plus its alcohol-free formula doesn’t sting going on. Gentle plant extracts help aid skin repair from shaving scrapes, and hyluronic acid provides moisturizing and antiaging benefits. Most importantly it feels great and is unscented, so it doesn't clash with dad’s favorite scent."   Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Gift Set "Speaking of scents, this gift set from Victor & Rolf features their most popular male fragrance. Bold and spicy, it’s perfect for the sporty dad. This set includes eau de toilette, shower gel, and aftershave balm to complete the experience. Surprise him with something a bit spicy. It might just be good for him."   Do you know what you're gifting your favorite fella(s) on June 15th? Show and Tell!

In any case, I want in, so these new picks on are going straight into my cart!     Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW™ Pomade I just attended a conference with all of our Sephora Store Education Leads, and of them was wearing Anastasia Dip Brow. high volt 5.23.jpg
Happy Mani Friday! When a slew of gorgeous neon polishes came across my desk this week, I knew I wouldn't be able to choose just one, or two, colors to use (I have the will power of a sugar fiend in a chocolate factory when it comes to beautiful polish), so I just decided to use them all! I toned down this "High-Volt" look by pairing the neons with some of my favorite pastels, and I love the way it turned out. What do you think?   What are you rockin' on your tips this holiday weekend? Show and Tell!       Colors used (L to R): Butter London Kerfuffle , Nails Inc Gel Effect Kensington Passage , Butter London Poole , Deborah Lippmann Video Killed the Radio Star , Formula X Over The Top , Nails Inc Gel Effect Soho Place , Butter London Molly Coddled , Marc Jacobs Ultraviolet , Deborah Lippmann Walking on Sunshine , Marc Jacobs Snap!

Hey BeautyTalkers! Tracy is back, and she's sharing her favorite new polish picks on (a girl after my own heart). Check them out!     "From chic, monotone neutrals to bold neons and loud metallics, you will most certainly nail the nail trend with these picks. Whether you want to go with flesh-toned polishes or o-m-g brights, just remember to use a base coat and top coat to ensure a long-lasting, professional-quality mani."   NAILS INC. The Perfect Nude "There’s nothing like a classic nude nail. These nail-perfecting neutrals protect, strengthen, and deeply hydrate with vitamin B5 and pomegranate seed oil. Simply apply two coats of the shade of your choice and a top coat for a glossy, chip-resistant, long-lasting finish. Whatever the occasion, whether it be a wedding or casual wear, there are beautiful options for every skintone."   Formula X Electric "This shockingly vivid nail lacquer comes in electrifying pearl and shimmer shades. It dries matte yet instantly transforms with the swipe of a top coat. Use it alone, mix and match the head-turning hues, or apply to an accent nail. I especially love Kapow!, Danger Zone, and Hyped. Either way, you are guaranteed to make a statement."   Deborah Lippmann Summer Nail Collection "Named after dynamic songs that ruled the radio waves in the 80s, these long-wearing, summery shades are infused with treatment benefits from biotin and green tea extract. They go on smooth and glossy, apply evenly, and dry quickly, adding a burst of energy and color to the max. From Don’t Worry Be Happy - orange-a-rama to Flash Dance - electrifying orchid to Video Killed The Radio Star - bombdiggity blue, not only will your nails look fab but you’ll have a blast with the funky names."   What's new on the site that's caught your eye? butterfly 5.12.jpg
Happy Monday BeautyTalkers! You may have noticed that Sephora has been a little obsessed with butterflies lately, and we've got some gorgeous imagery of these winged beauties in all of our store windows and on the site.   Well it's Monday, and I'm in the mood for some pretty pics, so let's share! Post a pic of your favorite butterfly or butterfly-inspired product. Show and Tell!   #PutAButterflyOnIt
Raise your hand if you nerd out on website updates ( Beautytester , I'm looking at you ). Well today I have a very cool BeautyTalk update to share with you: Rich linking!   Rich linking is just a techy term for allowing clickable images in posts. So now, when you post a product link in a thread, not only will an image of that product show up in your post, but other users can click on that image to be taken to the product page! Revolutionary, right? (that was a joke, I realize this is not revolutionary, but hey we're trying, and you have to admit, it's a pretty cool new feature.)   Here's how it works: 1. When you are starting or replying to a conversation, and you'd like to call out a product, go to the product page and copy the link from your browser.     2. Paste the product link into the conversation you are starting. After you paste the link, an image of the product will pop up below the post. If you'd just like to include the link without the product image, click the little "x" to the top right of the image to get rid of it.     3. If you'd like to keep the image but lose the link (the image will still be clickable in your post), delete the link in your post after the image has appeared. This is how I do it, because personally I don't think links are that pretty, but this step is entirely based on your preference.     4. When you click "Post" the image will show up in your post!     5. To get to the product page, just click on the image or the product name.     6. If you'd like to post more than one product, you can do that too. Just follow the same steps, copying and pasting the product links into your post. They will show up in a product carousel at the bottom of your post.   (See what I meant about the not-so-pretty links? )   Note, this feature only works for products (trying to post a link to see an image won't work...for now), but that's pretty much all we talk about anyway, right?   I really hope you guys enjoy this new feature - this is the first version we're rolling out, so there will be updates to it in the future, per the usual.   Let the enabling begin!
mothersday 5.8.jpg
Happy Mani Friday!   Today's mani is for who else? My mommy, who I will be spending the weekend with. Even though she's not a makeup fan, she loves my nail art and always likes seeing what's on my tips. She prefers more of the simple looks, so I just did an easy daisy manicure with the new Enriched color from The Formula X "The Cut" Collection for 2014. I LOVE this beautiful gold metallic! What do you think?   What's on your tips for this Mother's Day weekend (and if you're getting a mother/daughter mani on Sunday, post a pic!)?   Show and Tell!
anthony products.jpg
Check out any of the Anthony Logistics product pages on, and you may be suprised to see that there are just as many (if not more) reviews from women who use this traditionally men's skincare line as there are from the fellas. Highly intrigued, I caught up with founder Anthony Sosnick to get the scoop on the brand, their new Wake Up Call product, and how to get your dude to actually care about skincare.   Your tag line is “Developed for men, borrowed by women.” Which of your products do ladies tend to snag from their men? Actually, women tend to use most of our products, especially our Glycolic Facial Wash . Because of this, our goal for all is to use ingredients that are both beneficial for men and women. We see a lot women using our anti-aging products including our Vitamin C Serum , Vitamin A Treatment and Continuous Moisture Eye Cream . The technical ingenuity that went into developing these products puts them on the level with any comparable woman's product on the market. We also see a lot women buying our Pre-Shave Oil and Pre-Shave Cream all the time. Additionally, we see women buying our Invigorating Rush All Over Wash as they not only love the scent but it reminds them of the way a man smells. It’s kind of like wearing your boyfriend’s sweater.   Tell me more about your new Wake Up Call product. Is it as amazing as it sounds? At what point in your morning routine is it meant to be used, before or after moisturizer?  This is one of my favorite products. Let's say you've had a rough night, been out a little too late and you want to look your best the next morning. This product helps make your face look refreshed and revived. The combination of Green Tea extract, Caffeine and Menthol help to circulate the blood flow in the area of the face where it is applied and can help you look like you slept a full eight hours. The product helps to put your best face forward. It should be applied underneath your moisturizer, foundation or anything else that is meant to be left on the face throughout the day. I personally use this product often and absolutely love its benefits.   It seems as if more and more men are caring about their skin these days, why do you think that is (and does it mean that the women who have been harassing their fellas about skincare for years are finally making a difference)? We have been making men's skincare products for almost 15 years and I have seen a lot of changes in the industry. This category has become much less taboo over the years and more and more men are feeling comfortable using products beyond the basics. Showing men’s products in social media, editorial, blogs and how to videos exposes the category. Women and men are certainly looking for their partner to be well groomed. These kinds of products help to make a man look and feel good about himself and his appearance. Who wouldn't want to use premium products if this is the result?   Say I have a man who’s a soap and water kind of guy, what products would you recommend he start out with to get him on the skincare bandwagon (let’s call them “gateway products”)? Over the years we have seen many men in this situation. We always like to recommend the basics at first and tell him how he can help his appearance to look better and feel better about himself. Although our Pre-Shave Cream has many complex ingredients and is a very high-end premium product, it's always a good place to start as many men shave. We typically push the envelope a little further by recommending some sort of a moisturizer after they shave to help retain moisture and heal the skin. For those men that are looking for something to help fight their wrinkles we start with our anti-aging products, and they see products like this will help them look and feel younger.   You do a ton of charitable work and philanthropy in the community. Talk to me about some of the great organizations and events you’re involved with. I grew up in a very philanthropic environment. My parents were involved in all sorts of charities throughout my upbringing. This created the foundation that led me to be so passionate in giving back. My father passed away from cancer as Anthony was in product development and I felt it would be appropriate to give back a portion of our sales to the fight against prostate cancer in his honor and memory. This is a disease that affects many men. On every one of our bottles, tubes and cartons we prominently display the prostate cancers blue-ribbon to show our support. We also give a portion of our sales to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from all of our Shaveworks products. I'm also very involved with an organization called Facing History and Ourselves. I am extremely passionate about this organization as their main goal is to teach tolerance and history to high school students so we don't repeat the mistakes of the past.
mothersday 5.5.jpg
One of the great mysteries of my life (right up there with why my skin gets drier in the winter AND the summer) is how I, beauty-obsessed-Sephora-evangelist, spawned from a mother who neither likes nor has ever worn makeup (like nothing, not a stitch). It's a good thing Sephora sells skincare, ya know?   But it got me thinking, BeautyTalkers, am I alone in this (the mom who doesn't wear makeup question, but I suppose the dry skin thing too)?   For this week's Beauty Challenge, I want to know: What are you gifting (or hoping to get) for Mother's Day? And does your mom like makeup? Show and Tell!
It's live chat day on BeautyTalk! And today we've got a doozy - the beauty icon and the creator of bareMinerals, Leslie Blodgett! This is a super special one because bareMinerals' new Bareskin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation  just launched on, so I feel honored to have Leslie herself here to talk about it.   She'll be on answering your beauty questions live from 11 am to 12 pm PDT. I've opened the thread a little early so BT'ers can get their questions in first.   Please follow this link to the thread to ask your question:   (Don't post your question in the comments below, or Leslie won't see it!)
When it comes to skincare, finding products that help me look better nude (i.e,, without makeup on), has always been my goal. So I was super excited to sit down with Bryan Meehan, co-founder of Nude Skincare, to talk about the brand's skincare philosophy, their new Advanced Renewal line, and why probiotics (yes, like the ones in yogurt,) aren't just good for digestion.     How did you and Ali Hewson start working together to create NUDE Skincare ? Ali and I were introduced by a mutual friend in Ireland because we shared a passion for nutrition and a healthy respect for the planet. Having created Fresh & Wild food stores in London (now part of Whole Foods) we felt good about the trends in food but concerned about the dearth of anything performance driven in skincare and fashion. That sparked our desire to create NUDE Skincare, a brand that is rooted in nutrition while also high-performance and luxurious. Ali also went on to create her clothing line EDUN which is NUDE spelled backwards.   One of your brand’s messages is “Beautiful Without”. Can you talk a little about this philosophy? Since the brand’s beginning, we’ve always believed if you can leave it out, leave it out. So we make a conscious decision about every ingredient that goes into our formulas and every ingredient that is not included...such as parabens, sulphates, silicones, petrochemicals, etc.   You have a smaller, curated range of products. Does the NUDE line work on all skin types? Yes, our products provide premium nutrition for all skin types while addressing specific needs.  ProGenius Omega Treatment Oil is a great example - a product for all skin types with a balanced diet of omegas for healthy, radiant skin. My wife and three daughters love ProGenius…regardless of age, it delivers beautiful results.   Would you recommend different products for different skin concerns? Yes again. Everything from travel to lifestyle to weather affects our skin. What our skin needs in our 20s is different from what it needs in our 40s, but it always craves nourishment. It’s important to customize your skincare to suit your concerns.   Your new Advanced Renewal line  contains probiotics. Explain what probiotics are exactly (aren’t they in yogurt??), and how they help your skin. Great question. I’ve seen what probiotics can do for health and wellness and NUDE was the first to introduce this into skincare. Just as probiotics balance internal digestion (like yogurt), they also stabilize microflora, the good bacteria on the skin, to help it stay in balance. Our new Advanced Renewal Serum is a beautiful blend of probiotics, omega 9 and seaweed extract.   What are some of the other innovative ingredients you use in your products that make them special? Omegas, fig, honey, probiotics, prebiotics, peptides, algae, jasmine, apricot oil, antioxidants, cupuacu butter, ginger...shall I go on?   Talk to me about the link between healthy skin and nutrition. What kinds of things should we do to nourish our bodies on the inside to promote great-looking skin on the outside? Your skin is the largest organ of your body. What you put in your body nourishes your skin from the inside, and what you put on your skin feeds it from the outside. The two in combination promote well-balanced, healthy skin. That’s why your skin craves good nutrition…that’s why your skin craves NUDE.
obsessed 4.25.jpg
Happy Mani Friday! As much as I love themed nail art and new limited-edition shades, I still have my tried and true polish colors that I keep going back to when I'm looking for a simple, beautiful mani. So I've decided that I'm going to occassionally post a "Still Obsessed" Mani Friday to share some colors with you guys that I'm yes, still obsessed with.   T his week it's Blue Iris from JinSoon, which is my MOST FAVORITE DEEP BLUE POLISH EVER. It's deep and rich but doesn't look black, and goes on super shiny with an almost gel-like finish. I'm obsessed. I paired it with Glitter and Be Gay from Deborah Lippmann, which is one of my favorite fun glitters.   What are you rockin' on your tips this weekend? And what polishes are you still obsessed with? Show and Tell!
beautywings 4.21.jpg
When I was 20 years old and studying abroad for a school semester in Paris, I wandered into Sephora during one of my many jaunts down the Champs-Élysées. I had been in a Sephora before, but never one so large in such a glamorous location. I felt that I should commemorate the occasion, so I spent the next hour searching for the perfect "grown up" beauty product, one that didn't have a charm hanging off of it or smell like a lab's interpretation of cherries.   I finally decided on  Hanae Mori Butterfly , a sweet but warm fragrance that was the perfect balance of whimsy and luxury. To this day the scent reminds me of that moment in my youth when I was experienced enough to understand what made a quality beauty product and to be able to choose one for myself.    It was fitting that my "beauty wings" moment came with a perfume aptly named "Butterfly". For this week's Beauty Challenge,  I want to know: What product was your entree into the "real" beauty world, or the product that gave you your "beauty wings"?   Show and Tell!
Get ready, Kat Von D is back on BeautyTalk! Our favorite tattoo artist and makeup guru will be taking your questions live today from 12-1 pm PST. Personally, I'm super excited to see what she says about her new Butterfly palettes.    As usual for my BTers who can't make it at noon, I just opened the chat so you can get your questions in early.   So go ask Kat a question!>  (Make sure you follow the link above to get to the thread to post your question. If you ask your question in the comments section of this blog post Kat won't see it. ).
Easter 4.18.jpg
Easter weekend calls for seriously cute nails, but as my art skills are limited (I can't draw a bunny to save my life), I used Butter London Poole and Keen to create a simple pastel dotticure. I'm loving the color combination though, what do you think?      What are you rockin' on your tips this weekend (and what are your Easter plans)? Show and Tell!
