Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see from Sephora’s Beauty Insider program?

Full sized rewards!! !! I also shop at Soko Glam, and their full size rewards are a huge reason why I keep coming back to them. Especially for holidays.

They have 3 tiers to their rewards. Samples, travel size, and full size. We would all happily spend 200 or 300 points on full sizes. The teeny tiny sized samples hardly make it worth the purchase.

They also incentivize reward points for reviews, which means every product is reviewed far more often, giving a more well rounded idea of what the product is like before purchasing. It only seems fair considering the time and effort that goes into reviewing.

I would love to see the Rouge Welcome Gift brought back. I just got mine from the competitor and it reminded me how much I missed/looked forward to the rouge welcome gift (which was always my favorite out of the two). I think it was a nice gesture and made the Rouge tier feel a little more special opposed to only receiving the birthday gift.

@QueenMarceline Yes! I still have and love those red makeup brushes that we received the last couple of years they had the gifts available. I also thought it was neat that they had products in exclusive shades only for Rouge members--if I remember correctly, I think there were products from Nars, Bite Beauty, etc. that were Rouge-exclusive.

@txcatx @Yes I loved the special shade too - I definitely still have that Nars mini around

Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see from Sephora’s Beauty Insider program?

@Kim888 I actually almost forgot about those NARS minis until @txcatx mentioned them. I decluttered some products not long ago and was wondering where all those NARS lippies came from when i came across them in my stash because I really didn't remember buying them myself. Those were so great to try out.

@txcatx Yes! I still have those red brushes as well, they pack and travel so well! In the earlier years I also remember getting an amazing 3 or 4 piece set from Olehenriksen. It's how I got introduced to the brand and I still use several of those products til' this day out of that discovery set I got and it made me want to try more. Such a fond memory of discovering some really great products because let's be real, it's rare you like everything from a discovery/sample set but oh boy was it a hit. I ended up buying the full size version of the stand-out stars but all of them were very solid products. Oh how I miss these rouge welcome gifts. 😞

I second this!

If reward points could be converted to store credit that would be fantastic!  Also, if there were deluxe size samples or more robust reward items available for Rouge members for the same exchange of points, it would be more appealing to be remain Rouge status.

I would love to see some sort of incentive program to keep people coming back like if you buy a certain amount within a specific time period you would get a deal on another item relating to your perchance

I'm super picky with perfume,  more perfume samples would be great. Love my Sephora. Would be so cool to request a sample of something in particular that is not automatically offered. Like something you've been dying to try,  but scared to purchase.

Agree with this idea

Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see from Sephora’s Beauty Insider program?

I'm with you 100% - most of my points come from buying perfume, and there are some that sound really amazing, but I'm reluctant to spend $130 on an unknown fragrance. Especially since none of the stores within 100+ miles carries those scents.

I would love to order samples so I can try foundation shades. I don't have a Sephora where I live so I have to order online meaning I'm not able to try a foundation shade before I purchase it.

Free international shipping with customs paid!

I know this still falls under the discount category but I think it would be great if Sephora did what some other retailers do and that's match sales being offered by brands they sell to encourage us to say buy Urban Decay products from them rather than UD when they're offering a sale online.

Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see fr

Wow.  Y'all have some great ideas.  As this is an old thread, I wonder if anyone is even reading them anymore or if any changes will be made.  I have not read all of them.  Everyone knows I am not creative, so I am ripping off ideas and expounding upon them.

I love the catalog idea. Rather than printing it, I would like to see an online catalog of all perks (we all know there are many that are not advertised even though they work).  That way, we can pull it up at any moment for use.  I know there are many great users who update lists like this for us constantly (which we are all thankful for).  It just seems like it would be a lot easier and probably more efficient if Sephora employees did this.  There could be one list per level too, which you could only access by user login at levels: rouge, vib and bi.  The employees could ensure expired ones are removed ASAP and add them back ASAP when they come back in stock.  That would be much better than the trial and error methods we have now.

I would love to see more GWPs for brand specific items that can be combined with one code, a la Ulta.  If the line you are buying has a GWP, you should get it automatically whilst still being able to add one code for a general item.  To expound upon the codes, I would like to see more discount codes throughout the year.  Ulta has $3.50 off almost year round.  Although you cannot use it on prestige cosmetics there either, it can be used toward Ulta items (so maybe we can use it toward Sephora items here).

I do not feel there are enough Rouge (even though I buy from MANY places and may likely never get to that level, at least with the current rewards system as I get better incentives to purchase elsewhere) or VIB perks. Yes, we get early access to certain items and sales and a few GWPs not available to beauty insiders.  That just is not enough incentive for me to say pass up a chance to buy items at Ulta where I can get an Urban Decay GWP on the same order as a Benfit GWP and save $3.50 if I throw some Ulta items in the cart.

More valuable GWPs. I NEVER buy Lancome (my favorite brand) here, because they are always valuable GWPs somewhere.  They never have them here.  I bought almost 20 last year from Neiman Marcus, Saks, Macy's Dillard's, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, direct from Lancome, Bon Ton, Belk, Lord and Taylor (where I got the Holiday blockbuster at the same time as a GWP) and Herberger's.  I have already purchased an additional 7 this year.

Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see fr

  • How about doing something like Nordstrom for Rouges? Choose your own triple points day?
  • $25 VIB free shipping minimum, $0 for Rouge
  • Special parties just for Rogue... and VIBs. And in San Francisco/Bay Area.
  • Link ups to Sephora International. If Sephora chooses to open up in Australia/New Zealand, I better be able to have purchases linked to my current US/Canada account, especially because I don't go to Sydney often and their prices are ****ing expensive. Same for when I go to Hong Kong. (Malaysia and Singapore have Sephoras as well, different programs. I'm not sure what Brazil has, but Brazil has MAC!)

Ceasars Palace and hodings sends a cataog to all of the many million card holders yearly. They also have this catalog linked online. It is a very efficient system that has been proven by many large corporations.

Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see fr

Caesar's Palace has a partnered rewards program where you earn one point for ever dollar spent, and they occasionally offer multipliers.  Their rewards are not so very generous... For example, you can redeem 5,000 (five thousand) points for a $25 gift card from Macy's, Starbuck's, AMC, etc. which amounts to a half of a percent (0.5%) return.  Even so, it's apples to oranges.

I think they need to look at other retailers, especially as ULTA revamps and Nordstrom rolls out their respective programs.  Apples to apples.

Re: We love discounts too! But, let's get creative: What other new benefits would you like to see fr

My husband worked for Caesars for many years.  It is actually dollar passed through the machine, not dollar spent.  The machines do not hold 100% of coin that pass through.  For every dollar spent (on average), the strip casinos hold about 9%.  That means on average $0.09 of every dollar is kept.  It seems low, because even though there are a lot of losers, the losses are offset by the winnings.  This also means people are destined to lose over time as the machines pay out less than they take in (of course).

Local casinos hold way less than 9%, so you have a better chance of gambling there.  No matter where you gamble, the odds (especially on the machines) are always in favor of the house.  The odds get a little better on the floors.  Blackjack is one of the best bets, but I just say avoid gambling all together and keep ALL of your money.

To better explain this thought, when you put a dollar through the machine, it is very rare that you will lose the entire thing without winning anything back.  Even if you are very unlucky, you will get more than 100 points with $100.  You will win some back and reinvest it in the machine giving you more points.  Whereas, when you spend $100 at Sephora, the whole $100 is gone right away.  You will only get 100 points (unless there is a multiplier).
