My opinion on shopping for Skincare products while in a Sephora store is that I think the Skincare Specialist(s) should be more mature women that at least have a laugh line or two. You know, at least mid to late 30-year olds and above. I hate to go into Sephora and ask a skincare, anti-aging product question of a girl who is 18 without a wrinkle who refers to her mother's wrinkles and what her mother likes to use on her wrinkles. I want to talk to someone who has some fine lines and hear their first-hand experience with the different products offered.
As for shopping online for Skincare products, I think that there should be a better way of sorting through the hundreds of products to refine searches by age, more specifically by issue, etc. The search range is too broad right now to help anyone make a good choice.
Anyway, that's what I think . . . ![]()

I agree with the suggestions to group products by skin concern (I think my local Sephora already does this, at least in one section of the store). I also wish the store had a skincare specialist or two working at all times who could answer skin concern questions -- when available, this service has been so helpful!

to have products for skin types such as oily skin or dry skin clearly marked perhaps with some sort of signage. Then if a beauty advisor isn't free to help (let's face it - Sephora can get pretty busy) we don't have to spend time scouring labels to look for oil free products, etc. Speaking personally and from experiences with friends, we would all rather go home with a great product and not find out once we get home we picked something wrong for our skin.
Still think its the overseas shopping. Anyone with me? =P

@daniluv: I think sometimes import / export regulations and particular countries' laws re: shipping of cosmetics and substances dictate whether or not a company is allowed to ship to specific countries or not. It could be Sephora's choice, but it could also be different regulations coming into play (thus leading U.S. based Sephora.com to restrict delivery only within the U.S. and Canada). I'm not sure!
cheaper products.

make finding a good match for your skin type easier with an in-store station that has a quiz. You know: what's your need (bronzer, moisturizer, etc.), what's your skin tone, type (oily, dry, etc.)
it would give you a product match and code so you can easily find it!

Instead of organizing the skincare by brand, organize it by your customers specific need. For example, if the customer is looking for something to help with her oily skin, she could go straight to the section for oily skin, then choose a brand from there. This would make the customers shop much quicker, easier and a lot less confusing! ![]()

more personalized skin care based on my age (20-25, 25-30, etc.), skin type (dry, oily, sensitive, etc.), areas I want to target (prevent wrinkles, exfoliator, night cream, SPF, etc.), and price point (best for skin vs. low cost). A flow diagram or personalized consultation with an EXPERIENCED esthetician to pinpoint brands specifically for me. Not all the items from a brand are good for a person, sometimes variety is better for their skin.
MORE INDIVIDUAL IZED AND PERSON SPECIFIC BASED ON NEEDS
