I see a lot of makeup tutorials and see people apply foundation with a flat brush and others with a blending sponge. Which method is better to apply the foundation a brush or a blending sponge. also when I blend the concealer I use a brush. Should I switch to a sponge?
Hi everyone! So during the past one or two years, my under eye circles have become so obnoxious. People assume I don't sleep when I get more than enough sleep. I've tried the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment, the Estee Lauder Double Wear concealer and the MAC Pro Longwear concealer. While I absolutely love them all, I want heavier coverage. I still feel like you can still see some purple under my eyes. I'm also using the NYX color corrector for under eyes. I started using a Tarte eye cream about a week ago so I have yet to see how it works. Any suggestions on products/treatments for this problem? I have fair skin if that's any help.
Hey guys! I just bought the new Formula X system (XCEL). I have used the old system for a long time and really like it. I just bought the new system and at first it seemed to be pretty much the same, the cleanser and primer worked well (even if the brush on the cleanser "splits" in the middle like many of the comments have pointed out) I did my main color and got to the top coat.... It was sooo THICK! It was really "sluggish" and hard to apply and made air bubbles. It was as if it was getting too old. I am wondering if I should replace it but I'm not sure if it's just that particular polish that's defective or if the new formula is thicker. HELP! has anyone tried both top coats and know if the new one is thicker?
Hey my beauties! I got this idea from the Reddit makeup community: It's the ⭐️⭐️12 pans of Christmas!⭐️⭐️ We have exactly three months from now to pan as many items as possible so we can start the new year fresh. Anything you want to live your 2016 life in (but say goodbye to for 2017)? Here's my list: 1. Stila grey shimmer eyeshadow - 80% done --Got this in the Grey Look quad from 2008. Mostly I'm jut sick of looking at it! I'm not including the fourth black shade here because even though I make an effort to use it, realistically I won't get enough use out of it to list here. It's just gonna be my go-to black until it's gone. 2. Stila pink shimmer eyeshadow - 40% done --Same as above. Use this for my browbone and inner corner highlights. 3. Stila matte buttercream eyeshadow - 30% done (JUST hit pan yesterday) --Same as above. Use this to set my eye primer. 4. Clinique blush - 50% done --My mom gave this to me and it is so tightly packed that I swear the amount of budging is invisible. I have used it every day for months and it still looks the same as it did this summer. The half done is between my mom before me and accidentally dropping it. All the Clinique face powders I've tried are never-ending like this. 5. Crest Whitestrips - 50% done --I bought these two springs ago. Time to use them up and get their benefits already before they sit around so long they become trash. 6. Victoria's Secret lipgloss - 5% done --A lovely customer bought this for me! It's one of two go-tos I keep in my purse. 7. NYX Strawberry Parfait butter gloss - 20% done --From a Target Beauty Box. I used to keep this at work, and now it's the other one in my purse. 8. Urban Decay Spandex glitter liner - 25% done --Adore this but it's starting to thicken up so I want to hurry and use it all up this season before I have to toss it anyway. Will likely buy another one though because I love it and have always loved it. 9. Wet n Wild red lip liner - 50% done --LOVE this! It's the perfect formula, color and wear for me. It's just that I've had it for so long that I'm worried it's going to go bad before it's finished. This will be another repurchase once it's done. 10. MAC fuschia lip liner - 10% done --Got this from my mom. Not really a fan: it's dry and has the look of a colored pencil once it's on. Will probably wear this under the lipglosses mentioned above. 11. L'Oreal Miss Manga blue mascara - 5 % done --Love this but just want to use it up before it expires. Bought it earlier this year and have used it twice so it needs some lovin'. 12. GAP Dream More perfume - 60% done --I have had this for YEARS. It initially smelled so good on me but now the scent has evaporated and it smells more like alcohol. Subsequently, it gets used as a room spray because somehow the alcohol smell is stronger when it's actually on me. Works great for the room, though! What are yours???
So I know most of us are constantly ordering and picking up new makeup and tools all the time. We anxiously await our new products to arrive and when we get it, it's more like yay...meh...on the display or in the draw or wherever we stash our makeup. Then some random rainy day pops up and we reach for something newish and 💘💖😍 love at last. This happens to me so often that I often wonder why I buy new stuff when I'm always tossing it aside for a while. I thought of this thread because I see a lot of our hauls and new stuff we're jumping all over, but how long does it take for us to put those things into regular rotation?? Right now I recently rediscovered (this week as I was getting ready to drop the kiddies to school) my love for my Mac studio fix powder foundation in NC45. This was my first ever foundation...let me rephrase that...though I still have my original compact, during the spring I bought a new one and never used it. As I was getting ready I wanted to just throw something on my face so I don't look like death when I meet my kids new teachers but was pressed for time. I applied concealer and plucked this out the draw and it was 💖💖 all over again. I throw on a little lipstick and blush and setting spray and I looked alive!!! How did I live without it for all this time??!!! As for a newbie/impulse/hyped item, I discovered I really like my meteorites. I have 3 of the LE ones over the past couple of years and never really use them. I fall for the expensive hype and then they just sit there looking pretty. The one I really have been using the most are the rainbow pearls. It has taken me about a year to appreciate them lol.
I had bought an Anastasia Dip Brow pomade in the color Taupe and tried it out at home and it wasn't the right color. I bought this product at a Sephora in a JCP. Can i return the product to a normal Sephora Store?
Are there any threads for foils and Deluxe samples trade or a box. I have never been part of a box before (have traded) but I have a whole drawer full of foil samples along with deluxe size. My skin is super picky and I know I wont use all of them would like to actually get things I can use. Any help would be appreciated Thank you!
Today I received IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye eye cream and illumination concealer gratis to test for Sephora!! I'm so thankful and I am excited to try these items and let y'all know what I think!! I already LOVE the Bye Bye Under Eye regular concealer and I use it every day. The illumination seems exciting to use and I can't wait to compare the two. I've never tried IT eye cream, so it will be fun to try as well. Thank you you so very much Sephora and It Cosmetics!!!
I recently purchased this product Sephora Jumbo crayon eyeliner... I cannot figure out how to twist crayon to get more of the eyeliner when it's running low. I love this product- it goes on, and stays on all day. debnpurple
I just got my Tria from Sephora online order yesterday, it came with a thick instruction booklet and a quick start guide. I hold down the power button to turn the Tria on, placed the bottom against my skin to unlock, then placed laser against shaved area to zap. Of course I completely ignored the tag asking me to activate since it worked, but then I decided to read the thick instruction booklet today. It says that before first use, you must charge it and you will not be able to use the Tria unless you activate it first via web/phone . Well, my "new" Tria was fully charged right out of the box and did not need activation to use (I hear beeps and feel the burn/sting/zap when placed against hair area)....... It looks new with everything in their place but there's no seal on the box....... Is this normal? Where you able to turn on your Tria and use before activation? Did it came with a full battery?
The pictogram is titled: Voila! 4 Step French Beauty Routine Then it says: 1. Detoxify - Instant Detox Mask 2. Cleanse - Micellar Cleansing 3. Treat - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum 4. Moisturize - Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet Is this a mistake or an actual routine? Has anyone tried this order ? Or am i misunderstanding it and it's just listing the products inside?
Hello~ I don't live near a department store with a MAC counter or standalone MAC store. I have been wearing MAC Pro Longwear in NC30 this entire summer! Yes, it is a tad orange, but I find that it blends to match my tan nearly perfectly. I was super worried at first when I bought it in the winter (NC30 in Full Coverage is apparently quite lighter and more yellow), but it's awesome for my summer skin. I usually mix it with argan oil or my L'Oreal pro-glow, since I do have dry skin. And now, the REAL question... I'm about to reorder, and I figured that I might want to order a lighter shade for the upcoming Fall, and also because I plan on making a DIY cushion foundation with it to carry around in the Fall during class. NC25 seems like the obvious choice, but I wanted to ask if it also was equally as orange, or if it was more yellow. I'm warm-neutral, and way too many foundations are too yellow or olive on me. I tried to use Temptalia, but the only foundation that I KNOW matches my winter skin 100% is matching to NC30 (it definitely IS NOT!), while the NC25 matches to a more yellow shade in that line. When I matched all, the matches appeared very yellow in comparison to the NC30 shades. Can anyone offer insight?
I don't have much left in the bottle, and I am not seeing any noticeable benefit from using it. This was my first premium skincare purchase, and I am not sure this was worth the $90/oz. Anyone have good results?
Can someone help me understand the point of Blotterazzi? I got it in my July Sephora Play Box, and wasn't sure what to do with it. The product description is very vague. It does absorb water a little bit, but I'm honestly not sure how to use it.
Hi All!!! My question is I'm just about to finish up all my skin care creams and I'm looking to find what is awesome out there these days. I have been faithful to the philosophy brand because I LOVE there cleanser so much!! just not sure if I'm getting the most out of the creams. Any suggestions for some amazing night creams, day creams, eye creams and serums even a toner would be great! Thanks so much!!!!
Heading up to NYC for a quick day trip and when trying to decide where all I wanted to go, started wondering if there are any brands/products that are only/primarily available in NYC area Sephora locations. I do most of my ordering online, but sometimes it's fun to see/play with stuff in person first. Thanks!
Hi Ladies, Hoping for some opinions and help. I'm almost out of my balm and don't rightly want to drop $220 on another one until the November sale. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with something similar? I love how hydrating it is and that it takes absolutely everything including waterproof makeup off. Is there something else I should try? Thank you in advance!
I have been an avid lover of this brand for a quite now but it seems lately like the prices are getting jacked up or they are dropping products all together. For one, the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum now says it cannot be shipped to Canada, why? I have ordered it dozens of times and will be absolutely crushed if I can no longer get it.... If someone could please shed some light on this that would be great.
