Ladies (and gentlemen!) Since Canada seems to be getting different/fewer brands added to the website, and any cross-border new releases seem to be several days to weeks later than US releases, I thought we could use our own 'what's new/found in the wild' post. Please feel free to share any new products/brands you find on the Canadian site here.
I'm making this thread because I simply don't want to create a new thread for every little question that pops into my head, nor do I think that most questions need a separate topic. I had previously just dropped whatever random question that came to mind into the Random Thread (thanks jemly!), but I had been thinking about starting this for a while and figured I'd give it a shot to see if it could be of any use. I'm well aware that the people who could best utilize this thread will likely remain completely oblivious to it, but if it can consolidate even a small fraction of questions -- and maybe even generate some interesting conversations both beauty and non-beauty related -- that seems worthwhile. Official thread mascots: The Curious Puppies. Official thread anti-mascot: Lucille Bluth. It probably would've been wise of me to have a relatively inane question to use as an example and kick this thread off... Well, since I apparently don't have any pressing questions, I'll start with this two-parter: What's your favorite drug store nail polish shade AND which official mascot puppy is your favorite? Bonus/Extra Credit: What's it's name?
I have dry skin and typically use a hydrating foundation primer. But sometimes I would like to smooth the pores on my nose or chin depending on which foundation I am wearing on top. Are there any smoothing primers for dry skin, other than the hourglass mineral veil? I've tried it and was not wowed.
I recently received a sample of the Becca Backlight priming filter, and i really like it. It works wonders with my Teint infusion foundation. However, I am not liking the price. My question is how does this compare to the Sephora Collection Beauty Amplifier afterglow primer & luminizer? Are they comparable, Sephora's if half the price. Thanks!
Hopefully I am not stepping on any toes with the No-buy thread or P10P of the past- but I know I require inspiration to use up long neglected products and have never actively sought to finish something up. It can be thrilling! It's almost as good as buying new product, right?* Feel free to join me in forcibly integrating products I should probably just throw away into my routine in an effort to finish them off. Pick 5 products (doesn't need to be full size, baby steps) and begin! My 5 Pan Challenge: 1. Chanel Rouge Gabrielle 2. Benefit 'That Gal' highlighter 3. Glossier face mist 4. MAC eyeshadow quad from circa 1912 5. Dr. Jart Cermadin day tint deluxe sample (*Wrong)
We've all felt the pain of those items that we would have gotten, should have gotten but now must pay way to much to buy from re-sellers. Maybe collective BT minds can identify (while still in stock) the limited edition must haves. Heading into the holiday season the limited editions will likely be more extravagant and exciting. I'm eyeing Burberry and Guerlain. Anyone have any thoughts on currently available or soon to be limited editions? A lot of the holiday stuff is limited so I'm linking to the holiday thread as well : http://community.sephora.com/t5/Beauty-Confessions /HOLIDAY-2016/td-p/2454167
Hey everyone, I have been exclusively using the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Supreme Foundation for the past 5 years. It was discontinued last month and I have been searching for a similar full coverage foundation. I have gotten some good recommendations for full-coverage foundations from Sephora employees but nothing has really been comprable. So I am seeking out anyone who was also devastated by the discontinuation of the Oil-Free Supreme to give me suggestions for what is the MOST similar. My color was vanilla beige for reference. Thanks! Nikki
Since Glossier launched its Phase 2 set today, I thought it would be a good time to start a thread for the brand. Plus, I'm a bit obsessed with its products. PROMOS: BLACK FRIDAY PROMO: " 20% off + free shipping is as good as it gets! Cannot be combined with any other offers or promotions. Excludes digital gift cards. Sale ends 11/28 at 11:59pm PST." No code necessary; discount automatically applied at checkout. I have a referral link (you get 20% off, PM me for it). Sometimes there are additional discounts and promos floating around IG. Tag me if you find one and I'll add it here. NEWS: The Black Tie holiday set was released. It includes an LE Haloscope in Moonstone, a Glossier Pink nail polish, a glassy lipgloss, and a black eyeliner. From Glossier: " This set was made in limited quantities and will only be available through the end of 2016, while supplies last." Two new Generation G colors were released, Leo (cocoa) and Zip (poppy red). Swatches from top: Cake, Like, Crush, Leo (new), Jam, and Zip (new).
Josie Maran's Vibrancy Foundation has been sold out online for quite some time. It also has been sold out at all local Sephora's for a while. I have been told that this comes down to a warehouse issue. Has anyone heard anything? I can't seem to get any answers about a possible timeline for restocking the foundation. Thanks! **EDIT: On Sephora Canada
I purchased the Tarte clay foundation in light mediam neutral . (I was matched with that one) and I recently ordered the powder version of it in light mediam neutral . However when I look at the color iq match on the sephora website it falls under a different colour category despite having the same name! On the color iq for light medium neutral for the powder is showing up a lighter shade where as the liquid is showing up a darker shade. and I'm looking at the powder right now and it is looking lighter Did I need to get a match done for the powder foundation? or am I fine? My experience with other brands is what you buy in the liquid version will have the same name in the powder version so I am a bit confused.
Hello Sunday Riley Products are amazing and have pretty good reviews. If you have used any products from their line, can you please share your experience with us. Which of their products have you used? Did you like it or not and Why? What are the other products you would like to try or get more informations on? I am currently using Goog Gens, which I really love. to me, it is exfoliationg plumping and brightening. It just does everything to my skin Luna comes right after Good Genes. for a while I was using Luna on top of GG, but since i have started to use them as the compagny says, my skin became so much better I have also used the Ceramic Cleanser, which I did not like, don t know way, but my skin just doesn t like it. I wanted to try artemis, but it is discontinued. Now I am excited in trying Juno oil and Tidal
Hi all! Just wondering if anyone in Canada/or USA has had any issues with the shipment of Drybar Detox Shampoo. I just received my big rouge sale shipment and it was the only item that wasn't included in my shipment. I did notice when the item was in checkout it noted this *Due to shipping regulations this item and the rest of your order will be shipped ground. I only received one tracking number from Canada Post for the shipment that I received today. Any past experiences? Does it come later in a separate shipment? I have ordered this in the past and it has all come in one box, not too sure what happened
Hi everyone, I've recently purchased the SK-II Mid-Day Essence mist and was wondering if there was any way to open the cap. As bazar as it sounds lid does not open! I've tried everything and it is as if it was super glued on. The mist is so fine so I would like to repurpose the bottle. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!
I have one of the Sephora Sunset Daydream Train cases and it has a wonderful padded interior, but my beauty blender decided it had to get foundation all over the beautiful padded interior, does anyone know the best way for me to clean it?
Good morning beauty lovers As I'm just getting my list of things ready to buy for the VIB rouge sale, I've noticed tha t the "Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder" is only available in one shade and it isn't the shade I wear. I can't find it anywhere else on the Canadian site, did Urban Decay stop making this product or has Sephora stopped carrying it? I wear the shade in Naked Light and I love putting it over-top of my tinted moisturizer since I don't need much coverage. If anyone could help me out, or suggest what an alternative would be for my skin tone (fair) for a kind of pressed finishing powder that has some colour like what the Urban Decay one is, that would be appreciated! Thank you!

I have very sensitive skin - had peri-oral dermititis 18 years ago and never want to go back! For the last 15 years I used a cleanser called Amore Moisture Cleanse. Unfortunately it has been discontinued. I have tried many samples from sephora - fresh, caudalie, FAB, - all of them had a bit of fragrance which scares me and none of them really felt like they took all my make up off and I dont wear a lot. If anyone has any suggestion I would be very grateful
I love Sephora Favorites that have well curated sets of products and often discover new products and must haves. I would love to see a waterproof set of Lashstash! I am always looking for new waterproof/water resistant/fiber mascaras for different effects and to find a more perfect one. My eyes are simply too oily for normal mascara. Thanks, Sephora
Hi there, Do any of you know the scoop on the sunblock protection of the Tarte Tinted Moisturizer? On the Sephora website, the sun protection is listed at SPF 20; however, in store (in Canada) the product does not have SPF 20 listed on the package. I know there are restrictions in Canada with suncreen labeling requirements--- I basically am wondering if the actual ingredients are the same but the packaging/suncreen claims are the only difference? Also, have any of you used this suncreen on beach vacations and how effective did you find it in terms of sun protection? Thank you in advance!
Hey my beauties! I got this idea from the Reddit makeup community: It's the ⭐️⭐️12 pans of Christmas!⭐️⭐️ We have exactly three months from now to pan as many items as possible so we can start the new year fresh. Anything you want to live your 2016 life in (but say goodbye to for 2017)? Here's my list: 1. Stila grey shimmer eyeshadow - 80% done --Got this in the Grey Look quad from 2008. Mostly I'm jut sick of looking at it! I'm not including the fourth black shade here because even though I make an effort to use it, realistically I won't get enough use out of it to list here. It's just gonna be my go-to black until it's gone. 2. Stila pink shimmer eyeshadow - 40% done --Same as above. Use this for my browbone and inner corner highlights. 3. Stila matte buttercream eyeshadow - 30% done (JUST hit pan yesterday) --Same as above. Use this to set my eye primer. 4. Clinique blush - 50% done --My mom gave this to me and it is so tightly packed that I swear the amount of budging is invisible. I have used it every day for months and it still looks the same as it did this summer. The half done is between my mom before me and accidentally dropping it. All the Clinique face powders I've tried are never-ending like this. 5. Crest Whitestrips - 50% done --I bought these two springs ago. Time to use them up and get their benefits already before they sit around so long they become trash. 6. Victoria's Secret lipgloss - 5% done --A lovely customer bought this for me! It's one of two go-tos I keep in my purse. 7. NYX Strawberry Parfait butter gloss - 20% done --From a Target Beauty Box. I used to keep this at work, and now it's the other one in my purse. 8. Urban Decay Spandex glitter liner - 25% done --Adore this but it's starting to thicken up so I want to hurry and use it all up this season before I have to toss it anyway. Will likely buy another one though because I love it and have always loved it. 9. Wet n Wild red lip liner - 50% done --LOVE this! It's the perfect formula, color and wear for me. It's just that I've had it for so long that I'm worried it's going to go bad before it's finished. This will be another repurchase once it's done. 10. MAC fuschia lip liner - 10% done --Got this from my mom. Not really a fan: it's dry and has the look of a colored pencil once it's on. Will probably wear this under the lipglosses mentioned above. 11. L'Oreal Miss Manga blue mascara - 5 % done --Love this but just want to use it up before it expires. Bought it earlier this year and have used it twice so it needs some lovin'. 12. GAP Dream More perfume - 60% done --I have had this for YEARS. It initially smelled so good on me but now the scent has evaporated and it smells more like alcohol. Subsequently, it gets used as a room spray because somehow the alcohol smell is stronger when it's actually on me. Works great for the room, though! What are yours???
