Peter thomas Roth anti-shine mattifying gel

I recently bought the anti-shine gel from Peter Thomas Roth, and I was just wondering, can I use this alone as a primer? Thanks!

Hi Cefrd13,

Yes you can! I have it myself and sometimes like to wear it on top of my foundation when I get a bit oily. I like to wear it by itself too for a matte finish.

Hi Cefrd13, yes, you can definitely wear this alone, or as a primer under your makeup!  I got it for my boyfriend (who doesn't wear makeup, lol) and it works great to take the shine away from his nose & forehead without looking like he's wearing makeup.  But it does have a nice smooth finish which works as a great base for applying foundation or powder on top.  :smileyhappy: -Laura

It can be used as a primer as it's comprised and formulated with ingredients found in many silicone/dimethicone based primers; however, since it's not solely a priming product, it won't treat other factors such as brightening or evening skin tone like some other color correcting primers on the market. If your main concern is oil control, it's a great multipurpose tool!
