Hard Candy

A while back I used to (quite a while back- over 20 years)get Hard Candy Makeup at Dept Stores. When I got back into makeup I wondered what happened to it.  Today at WalMart I saw it!  Couldn't believe it!  Picked up a few of their colored Mascara's.  See if the quality is as good as it used to be?

I remember when Hard Candy was in department stores. The nail polishes with the cute plastic ring were so popular. I wish I had a Walmart near me because the products seem so fun and are a good deal

I used their luminizing face primer, concealer and 3-in-1 foundation and have no complaints whatsoever.  They're great for the price!

I like to buy Hard Candy when I need an impulse makeup fix at Walmart.  They are one of the few cosmetic lines at WAlmart that do not test on animals.  They are also a small independent company and not owned by a large corp that I know of.  I have purchased their eyeshadow and felt tip eyeliners.  I am impressed with their eyeshadow.  It stays on all day and has decent color payoff.  They also have some deeper colors that show up on my medium skin.  Plus, no fallout so its great for work.

The only thing I've ever used from Hard Candy was the nail polish, and this was about 18 years ago, in middle school! I remember they came out with a sky blue shade, which was atypical at the time, and they came with a little ring on them. So cute! I haven't seen the brand in ages. I've never tried the makeup, though.

I, too only used their nail polish back in the day. The quality was AMAZING! I could get perfect coverage and great wear with ONE coat! I actually STILL HAVE one of them from back in the day and it still is in great shape! I dounbt their quality is the same. I paid $9 for it back then, which was alot! I don't think they are in the same price point now.

Actually, now that I recall, about 1o years ago I bought one of their palettes from Sephora before they phased it out and I wasn't impressed. Very sheer coverage. Maybe that's improved.

ALthough I won't buy anyway, because I avoid shopping at Walmart!

I have tried an eyeshadow, an eyeliner and a highlighter from the Walmart line. I think it is all fine. I am not super impressed or excited about it as I was when it was sold exclusively in dept. stores. I think it's mainly because it is an entirely different line. None of the products available before are around anymore. I really miss the "old guard" Hard Candy.

I haven't tried HC products yet but I've heard great things about their blushes.  Admittedly, they're almost direct copies of Benefit's boxed blushes but are so much cheaper and apparently much better pigmented.  Hopefully I'll be able to restrain myself the next time I hit up a Walmart!

I tried a few of their items when they first came out at Walmart (a year ago I think) and I was not impressed at all.  I can't recall everything I bought, but I remember tossing the lip gloss pencil in the trash (horribly drying) and giving away some eyeshadow.

Honestly, I haven't tried it yet, but I haven't heard anything bad about it either.
