Hi all! I've been browsing the forum and found many suggestions for acne scar treatments. So I was wondering what the best product is for acne scars? I don't want a spot treatment or a peel, but an overall face serum/treatment. But I don't want a face lightening product (I don't want to lighten my whole face/complexion). Also, can I use these acne scar treatments in conjunction with another serum (such as an anti-aging serum)? Thanks ahead of time for your advice/suggestions/answers!
Hi! I've been struggling to find a sunscreen for my face to use regularly in order to protect my already vulnerable skin. I have Lupus, so my face especially is sensitive and really needs consistent UV protection. I don't always wear foundation, but for when I do, I'd like something that works well under my other makeup. I'm very fair, (I use Y205 in the MUFE HD Foundation) so I don't care that much about a white cast. It'd be even more of a plus if someone could suggest a product I could touch up my UV protection with over my makeup that isn't the supergoop setting spray (tried it, didn't like it). My skin is normal, but will get oily around my T-zone occasionally.
I often get milia on my face. Milia is little white bumps that consist of dead skin cells trapped on the face. To clear the face of ones that already exsist, I go to my dermotologist and have her pierce the surface and extract the dead cells. However, I would much rather find a way to prevent the milia from developing in the first! Has anyone found a solution to this problem? As a side note I would also like suggestions on how to prevent blackheads...they are so annoying! Thanks in advance!
I'm looking for a recommendation for my skincare. I have oily skin and used to struggle with bad acne. My acne is not as bad anymore, however, I still get the occasional breakouts on my cheeks. My main concern is my acne scars and dark spots that remain from the years of acne when I was a teenager. I'm looking for some recommendations for a skincare routine that would help brighten my skin and help the overall look / texture as well. Open to serums, oils, moisturizers, or anything that you have used in combination that you saw great results with! I've looked into a couple of products such as the sunday riley good genes + the luma sleeping oil, the ole henriksen truth serum, or the vinoperfect claudalie serum. Looking for suggestions! Thanks !!! :
I have redness from blemishes and acne scarring on my cheeks and chin area. I'm looking for products to help to lessen the redness. I'm also looking an everyday, lightweight product to cover for summer months; such as a BB or CC cream. I'm a full-time student, so keeping it within a reasonable budget is a priority, but I will pay a decent amount for the right product! Thanks!
I have really tough skin. I'm 38 with aging mostly oily skin with some small dry patches, some acne and wrinkles/fine lines. I've tried lots of treatments with little to no results (Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, Sunday Riley Good Genes, Dr. Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel, Clinique Acne + Line Correcting Serum, Ole Henriksen's Invigorating Night Gel, retinol serums, etc.). I've used these treatments for at least 3+ months each and mostly nothing. I've used a lot of different moisturizers too. Right now my night routine is: Cleanse - usually Boscia's Thermal Black Cleanser or MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil if I'm wearing makeup Tone - Pixi Glow Tonic Serums - PTR's AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel (just started this) with Sunday Riley's Good Genes on top Moisturizer - Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer Enriched with a drop of Lipidol Overnight Face Oil Eye Cream - whatever sample I have, right now Lancôme Genifique Yeux Youth Activating Eye Cream My day routine is: Cleanse - Boscia's Thermal Black Cleanser Tone - Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal Toner Serums - Oz Naturals Vitamin C Facial Serum, PTR's AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel (new) and Hylamide SubQ Anti-Aging Advanced Serum Moisturizer - Murad's Anti-Aging Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++ or Paula's Choice Resist Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I wait until each treatment is dry before putting the next one on. My skin is being maintained but I'm looking for something with some real results. I'm not asking for a miracle but it would be nice to find something that actually improves my skin. Any suggestions?
I am allergic to most sunscreens. The ones I am not allergic to are the ones that reflect light but they usually leave a white cast on the skin. Can anyone recommend a sunscreen for extremely sensitive skin that I can use before applying makeup that wont interfere with the color?
What is the best moisturizer/skin care routine for sensitive, combination skin? My face randomly breaks out in hives and gets red, dry patches and previous products I have used have made this worse. Other parts of my face like my nose get extremely oily though so I'm not sure what products to use. Please help!!
The time has come for me to upgrade my son's skin care routine to something that acknowledges the onset of puberty along with his sensitive skin and eczema. I was thinking about First Aid Beauty but was wondering if anyone had other ideas?
I am having trouble developing a skin care routine to go with my newly found active lifestyle. I've never had much of a routine besides buying whatever is on sale at the pharmacy (ugh I know) but now that I'm getting older and can finally afford things I was hoping to get some tips and tricks from much more knowledgeable people than me I typically exercise twice a day, 5-ish days a week. I run + lift in the morning and do hot yoga in the evenings. I'm a fan of sweating a lot (by a lot I mean occasionally getting prune fingers) but I am not as much of a fan of my post-workout face... in the mornings it is usually red and bumpy and it is difficult to put on make up for work (which I only do like 3 times a week) and after hot yoga it is even more red, dry and I'm self conscious of putting cream or anything on it cause my pores are super super open. Thank you for advice everyone. I really really appreciate it!
Does anyone know if there's going to be a new Sephora Favorites sun safety kit for this year? The one currently available is the one from last year and people were complaining that items were expired. I would love to snag a new one! Also I wasn't sure where to post this.
Hi, I recently moved and am suffering from heat rash on my face and shoulders. Can anyone recommend some solutions? Right now, I try to avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest times of the day. Also, I wash my face and allow it to air dry. It's really giving me a hard time. Please help!
Do you agree with her views on skincare products? I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay. Examples: - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts. - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse. Products she gave a "poor" rating to: - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid. - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1. - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time... Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.
I would consider myself to have oily skin, but at the same time it feels SO dry and tight - with or without makeup! I think my skin is trying to compensate the lack of moisture with producing more oil? (Even though I drink plenty fluids throughout the day...). So, I thought maybe investing in an overnight mask in place of my night cream. I don't know if using an overnight mask every night will clog my pores, but I am out of ideas!!! Any advice/product recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks
I got a sample of the Tata's Resurfacing Mask in my play box this month. Used it and had an allergic reaction of hives all over my face (that are still here hours later and progressively got worse.) I do not have sensitive skin. I have never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life. My skin is fairly well balanced. Has anyone else had this problem?
Recently I've been having an issue where my eyes will suddenly start burning and watering ferociously. (Seriously. I look like I'm bawling.) Over the last couple of weeks I think I've made the connection between the burning/watering and using facial sunscreen. It started at my daughter's track meet after I applied my gold standard Neutrogena sunscreen. I initially assumed I had applied it too close to my eyes because I used this product often over previous summers. But then it happened again a few days later when I used Coola's Setting Spray. Then again when I tried Murad Invisiblur. If I go without sunscreen it doesn't happen. But, what doesn't make sense is that the irritation doesn't just happen shortly after application either. I can be at Target 8 hours later and the burning and watering will start as I'm walking through the parking lot. (Thank heaven it was in the parking lot. Anyone who saw me probably just thought I spent too much lol!) Thoughts? Suggestion? I'm very fair and can't go without sunscreen over the summer!
Hey everyone! So I'm in desperate need for some holy grail product recommendations of ALL kinds! Face washes, serums, moisturizers, masks, toners, ANYTHING YOU GOT! Plot twist: They need to be for oily/combination skin! Thanks!
Hello, I'm 26 years old, I have a kinda mix skin, a little more oily in the T zone... I recently heard that at this age, the skin little by little stops producing collagen, so I wanted to prevent eye's wrinkles..and also face's...but my skin its very delicate too, some creams or lotions kind of burn me or produce me acne...so I really don't know what can I use...(I'm also sometimes following my derma doctor treatment for some pimples and that, he forbid me to consume vitamin B or complex B ) I hope you can help me to the wrinkle and oilyskin issue.
I really want to get one of these to add to my daily routine. I just don't know which one to get. The Foreo Luna is obviously more money up front, but you have to buy replacement heads for the Clarisonic. So in the end the Clarisonic will cost more. Honestly with price aside which one do you ladies like more?
I thought I'd start a thread for people to post issues they're having with their skin that relate to dermatitis, reactions to certain products, skin allergies, and similar issues. I think having a central thread may help for sharing ideas and learning from each other. I have super sensitive skin myself but have been on BT long enough to see that practically everyone has had a skin reaction to some product or another and sometimes sharing with others really helps narrow down the cause and solution. This thread isn't meant to be a place to post about the more common skin issues such as minor acne, wrinkles, etc. that we all experience, but rather a place to post about the more unusual ones relating to specific products/ingredients or longer term ones that are not related to age or hormones such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, and just the puzzling things that our skin does from time to time. I'm not an skincare expert by any means and unless someone asserts that he or she is one, this thread is more of a place to share ideas and experiences rather than a place to seek definitive answers or treatment. I am looking for a balancing face oil. I have tried Pangea Organics (when Sephora used to carry them) and loved it. I also have tried Josie Maran argan oil and I broke out (sad face). I am wondering what other face oils are out there that people are loving.
So I need major help with my pores. I have tried skincare products, makeup products, and even different skin treatments (micro derm/ laser) and nothing will combat my pores. They are either clogged, expanded, and just look like holes. I really need help.
Hi, I am 20 years old and I don't wear makeup. However, I am starting to take care of my skin! I noticed that my pores - around my nose and my chin - have been really big and visible. I use pore strips every week but it doesn't seem to minimize my pores. Any cheap & afforable product or ways to help minimize pores? Thanks!
I use Origins charcoal mask, and I love it. I can see that it's working because the stuff is sticking out of my pores after I wash it off. My question is - how do I remove all those whiteheads that are trying to get out after using this awesome mask? I don't want to just put product on top of it...any suggestions? Thanks!
Does anyone know if Sunday Riley has discontinued its Bionic cream? It's no longer showing on Sephora website or at most other websites. This is the first anti-aging type cream with bells and whistles that I've been able to use without any reactions. Can a mod pipe in and confirm?
