I am in a constant hunt for pore minimizing products and I still haven't found one that I absolutely love and that works great with my skin. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for products that would help me minimize pores as time passes not just momentarily hide them .. I know that they will not disappear (that would be ideal!!!) .. Thank you!
I am 23 with acne-prone, sensitive, easily irritated, combination skin. My main skin concerns would be my acne, redness and overall skin dullness/roughness. I feel like I have tried every product imaginable, but nothing seems to work. Currently, I am struggling with little red bumps, mainly around my mouth and chin, that don't appear to be acne, but I believe they are from irritation caused by using the wrong products. For now, I am looking for a better cleanser and moisturizer. I have done my research and would like opinons on the Shiseido ibuki purifying cleanser v. Shiseido ibuki gentle cleanser and any advice on a good moisturizer that will give me a healthy glow, will not irritate my skin and will get rid of these pesky red bumps as well as keep my acne at bay. Also, does anyone have an opinion on using alcohol-free, fragrance-free witch hazel? I've heard mixed reviews on using witch hazel on your face, but have also seen where it apparently does wonders for your skin.
Ok, I have this obsession with my hands and feet, I know weird!lol. Tell me what your using at home? Getting manis and pedicure are exspensive! My feet are usually very dry and I've tried lots of products like Josie Maran body butter, her oil, soap and glory heel Genius,Argan Infinity creamy oil, Wen balm, lots of lotions and sanding them twice a week but there still dry! Lol. I have tried putting on products and wearing socks to bed but I'm still not getting the results I want! If you have the time please tell me what works best for you. My hands look great but my feet are still a dissapointment to me. Thanks in advance ,,,, Dan
My sister is coming down from the boonies in a couple weeks and wants to go to HMart while she's here. I'll finally have a chance to spend more than 10 seconds in the Amore Shop since I won't have kids & husband in tow screaming they're hungry, bored, etc. I want to try some new skincare goodies and I want some suggestions. The warm weather is coming so I'll be back to dry/combo instead of my winter time super dry. What are everyone's favorites from these lines?
I bought the Mia 2 and Gentle Cleanser as recommended but now I feel like I have to change all of my skin care products. It's not really helping my complexion and drying me out with uneven skin tone and I still have blackheads and it makes my combination skin dry but still t-zone oily. I need advice on a day moisturizer that helps reduce aging signs as well as not breaking me out and keeping my oily skin in tack. I also need a night time gel and routine badly!! I use Murad Pore Exfoliater and Sealer a couple days a week and treat blemishes with acne products as well as clay masks once a week. I just need some anti aging products for night that will refresh my skin and balance it without breaking out as well as a day product moisturizer that does the same. As well as sunscreen that won't help me break out! HELP! Should I quit Mia2?
I've searched high and low for products that will "shrink" the pores on my cheeks after years of irritated skin/acne/benzoyl peroxide treatments/using the wrong products for my skin. Google usually takes me to YouTube reviews, which is full of information... But these days I can't tell which is genuine and which is sponsored. So, I thought I would ask what has worked for YOU? I know there is no magical "thing" to make them disappear, but I'd love you to share anything that helped minimize or even just tips to hide them when wearing makeup ! I'm actually looking in to skin resurfacing (I heard this helps?) but it seems so drastic. Does anyone have experience with this treatment? Thank you
Hi all, would anyone have a good recommendation to reduce the appearance of rosacea on the cheeks? I am looking to get something for my mom she is 46 and has great skin otherwise. It's combination with an oily T-zone. She mostly uses lancome, clinique and clarins in her daily routine, as well as the vivier vit c and peptides serum. Thanks for any suggestions!
I have extremely pale skin with no color other than red in my face. Currently the only foundation that matches my skintone is Bobbi Brown 15 hr wear founation in alabaster. I am in need of a great primer that will reduce the reddness in my face because my foundation is not doing the trick. Also, my skin is very sensitive and oily on my nose. I do not have much acne to cover up, just hormonal acne. I would love to go days without foundation but I have too much reddness in my face to feel confident going foundationless. Please Help!!! ~Jess
I have for the most part, pretty normal skin. During this past winter, and most winters, I usually use oils as my main moisturizer. I cleanse every day, morning and night. And I exfoliate 2-3 times a week. BUT, lately Ive been noticing my skin getting dry especially around my chin area, even though I moisturize on a daily. Also the skin around my nose and forehead is feeling more and more rough and "textured". It doesnt feel very pleasant, and looking up close in the mirror it looks all bumpy. Not to mention my skin looking dull and uneven. Sounds gross, but I feel like I almost need to strip off a layer of my skin to make it better. Im wondering if anyone else has this issue and would love to know what you did or used to fix this. Please help
Hi I have been using ole henriksen's eye peel for 2 weeks now religiously. I bought it to treat my dark circles. I suddenly have started noticing Fine lines/wrinkles developing under my eyes. i have never had them before, hardly 1 or 2 fine lines before. Now they seem more prominent and more fine lines developing all of a sudden.?? Has anyone experienced this?? Please help!
Do you agree with her views on skincare products? I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay. Examples: - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts. - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse. Products she gave a "poor" rating to: - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid. - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1. - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time... Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.
I have oily, combination skin with blackheads, pores (on my cheeks, forehead, and nose), and dehydration. I have a sample of the GlamGlow Supercleanse and Boscia Black Cleanser. I purchased the Korres gentle cleanser (exfoliate), but I think its too harsh for me so I will return it. I really like the GlamGlow Supercleanse and the Boscia Black Cleanser. I don't know how to decide. At first it seemed when I used the cleanser by Boscia my face felt a little bit dry until of course I used my toner and moisturizer (by a brand that's not at Sephora). Any anyone give any suggestions what may be best for my skin?
I see so many skin care lines touting "waters" and then they list a bunch or even just one and seemingly it has an amazing benefit. Why? How do different waters impact my skin and make it retain moisture better. Perhaps I should be a better consumer and just trust the marketing. But I'm really curious…how do various "waters" help my skin and why should I buy that product over others. Any enlightenment is so welcome!!
I've noticed a lot of facial oils on people want lists (for sales, for wish list). And, amazingly many of the most coveted are around $100 and sold out on the Sephora site. Sephora's selection of face oils also seems to have grown a lot over the past 6 to 8 months. So, which face oils are people loving and why? How are you using them? They seem to work for both dry and oily skin but are certain ones seeming to work better with specific skin types? Thanks!
I am not trying to scare anyone, but be cautious when sampling creams/serums/etc at beauty stores where everyone can dip their fingers in! Rosacea in some people is caused by Demodex mites which live on the skin and can be contagious! Ladies and gents, be cautious - the mites are very real, microscopic but can be transferred from one person to another. Just wanted to share so everyone takes extra precaution when sampling in store.
This may sound like an odd question but how do you determine your own skin type? I'm 48 and I want to switch to a cleansing program that will help my skin age better. But the first question is always "what skin type are you"? That's a good question that I don't have the answer too. How do you figure it out? If I wash my face it feels dry without moisturizer. So I of course moisturize. But by lunch (especially with makeup) it's feeling oily. I have redness in my cheeks and some products make me break out. AHHHHH I have no idea what to use. I tried TreSkinRX and after 2 weeks my face hurt so bad (literally 24/7), I also tried PUR and it did the same thing. Each time I went back to Aveeno ultra calming cleanser and moisturizer and my skin quit hurting after 2-3 days. So, how does one determine what skin type they have?
I have two of the smaller sizes in my basket (Caudelle and Koh Gen Do). Do I want them or not? I've never tried cleansing waters before but am very intrigued. Anyone who has tried them have any thoughts? The brands are great ones. How about this product? Thanks!
I seem to have ridiculously large pores on my cheeks with severe blackheads on my nose. I have been using ProActiv+ as a daily cleanser, Anthony deep pore cleansing clay twice weekly, and Bioré pore strips weekly (right after I remove the clay mask). I can see a difference after using the mask and strips, but by the next day, my blackheads are back. I know that I should be using a toner and moisturizer, but I'm not sure what will work the best for what I need. I have normal skin with some dry spots around my nose and mouth. Any suggestions for what I should try for a toner and moisturizer, as well as possibly a new cleanser?
So it looks like Sephora has discontinued my beloved Bosica Pore Unclogging strips . I liked these sooo much more than Biore...the Boscia were larger, and I like that they are black...makes it easier to see everything that the strips get out. I tried going to the Boscia website to buy them, but they are out of stock, which makes me think they are just discontinued in general. Anyone have an as good or better recommendation? I loved using these after the GlamGlow SuperMud mask....it makes SUCH a difference in my pores on my nose.
I'm 30 with medium-toned, combination/oily, acne-prone skin, sometimes even with hormonal cystic acne. I have pitting and dark scarring from previous acne. I use Tazorac (tretinoin) every other night via my dermatologist and take Spironolac. I just purchased a Clarisonic Mia 3 which is in the mail.. 1) What is recommended to use with the Clarisonic? I'm hoping it will replace my need for my muslin cloth-using REN Rosa Centifolia Purity Cleansing Balm which I use to help w/ the peeling from Tazorac My usual AM: -REN Rosa Centifolia Purity Cleansing Balm -Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner -Murad Post-Acne Spot Lightening Gel (all over face) -Skinceuticals CE Ferulic -Perricone MD Photo Plasma w/ spf 30 OR Murad Essential-C Day Moisture spf 30 -makeup PM regime: -mild cleanser -Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner -Murad Post-Acne Spot Lightening Gel -Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair -rotating between my Tazorac & Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster -Murad Essential-C Night Moisture 2) Am I overlapping or using too many products? 3) Does this order seem about right?
im all of a suden been breaking out a lot, i use the orgins cheeks and balances face wash and the clean and clear moisturizer. What are some good products for me to use?? I'm 12 years old and looking for something not to expensive!! what are your thoughts??
Here is a question. I use chemical peel once in a week. Now I have tried and liked and bought Tata Harper resurfacing Mask as well as Ren glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal mask. What I want to know is if it will be too much exfoliation if I use one of these masks once a week along with the weekly peel. Skin care experts guide me if these masks perform the same function as a peel, if so I'll not buy any more peels unless I use up these masks????
I really want to get one of these to add to my daily routine. I just don't know which one to get. The Foreo Luna is obviously more money up front, but you have to buy replacement heads for the Clarisonic. So in the end the Clarisonic will cost more. Honestly with price aside which one do you ladies like more?
I am fifty years old and have limited means. My skin texture is terrible and I have many fine lines and wrinkles. Every time I use skin care products my face breaks out. I drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. I use sun screen year round and a visor and sun glasses in the summer. When I use only cleanser and witch hazel as an astringent my face clears up but the appearance and texture just keep getting worse. I find that my skin does better with powder mineral make up but it emphasized the lines and texture problems. Please help me!
I've recently seen a few articles about shaving the peach fuzz off of your cheeks and upper lip and so on, to help you have a more even complexion and to allow your makeup to apply better. I don't believe in the whole "it'll grow back darker and thicker" thing, and I know that Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor did the shaving thing, and that dermaplaning has become popular. Has anyone tried this or know anyone that has? I have fine peach fuzz over my cheeks, and sometimes it's annoying when I'm trying to go for the flawless makeup look, and I don't think I could handle waxing or threading my cheeks, but if razoring works, then I'm willing to give it a shot. I also read online that it helps to remove a layer of dead skin, like exfoliating, and can give you a more even complexion.
Suffer an accident 2weeks before Christmas & I am left with 3 slightly indented scars on my face , 1 on my left center top lip. When I ask about treating scars all doc said ""give it 2-4 months its should heal on it own if you keep it clean. See plastic surgeon 6 months later if it bothers me." That is the last thing I want to hear cuz I don't believe in it cuz I have seen what happened to my friends with careless surgeons. Before all this happened to me I was getting serious on wanting to improve uneven texture on my skin. I had got a smaple of Dr.Dennis gross ferulic acid + retinol brightening solution loved how it improve my skin so I order online my 1st original formula 14day kit 2days before I got hurt. I had been doing everything in my power not to return it. 6 1/2 weeks since it happened, my kit just sits there since I've been healing. & during healing process been using gentle scrubs & cleanser, also la mer concentrate (thank u pam) to help treat & heal my scars. Seems my scars are almost done forming, so I started to use my solution again, but is the peel gentle enough for evening out injury scars? I am trying everything in my power to see what might help me so I can prevent plastic surgery.
Saw the dermatologist today. He recommended laser or green tinted moisturizer. Laser cost is out of the question so it needs to be the moisturizer or concealer. I have no idea what is what. What is best green tinted moisturizer/concealer, for coverage of nasal/chin spider veins? Brandy54
