I have recently been suffering with hyperpigmentation from acne scarring and picking my skin (it's terrible -- I know). The spots are not too bad as they are still pretty new, but I was looking to find a serum that would help with this as well as evening out my skin texture and brightening my complexion overall. I would like to use the serum both day and night, and under the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate in the evening. For reference, I am 22 and have oily skin and a light complexion. Also, I've been mostly interested in the Dior Anti-Spot, Amore Pacific Luminous Effect Brightening Serum, and Shiseido White Lucent Serum. Does anyone recommend these?
I'm interested in starting to get my brows waxed or threaded but I have no idea what I'd say to them if I decided to get it done. I'd mostly just like my brows to be cleaned up but I have no shape preference. What do you ask for when you go?
Curious about a couple of things.... I know many of you have a large sample stash. How do you go about testing your different items? Do you separate your "tests" by a few days to isolate a reaction? If you see a pimple show up later in the day do you continue to test another day or do you toss it? I tend to have finicky skin so I hate overdoing new products but I'm so excited to try new things!
I was wondering if anyone has tried out any of the Glossier items? I am curious a/b the GLOSSIER PRIMING MOISTURIZER? It sounds like a dream, best of both worlds! You get a good moisturizer (that actually moisturizers) & then kinda like a "Blur" + Semi-Tint" to go along w/ it. They sell a tint too. Anywho it has Hyaluronic Acid in it and a butch of other goodies to combat redness, dryness, ruddiness, etc. I don't have a beauty book & can't remember where it is on the skin tip. It's dermatologist tested & hypo ( and all that jazz). I was thinking about trying it, but since I just read about it ( and haven't heard anyone talk about it ), I am skeptical / afraid I suppose. SO, what do you think / know about it? I just bought some of the Belli Anti Blemish (Lactic Acid) face wash from Ulta & some Mario B. Rose Spray & I am trying to check out a diff. Moisturizer (like maybe GLOSSIER) or maybe the E. Lauder EE Cream & was wanting some suggestions. I am gonna keep the new bottle of Clinique Tinted Moisturizer (old but goodie) but I am trying to amp up yet simplify (time wise) my skin care routine. I have a lot going on at the moment. Thanks in Advance
My dermatologist just told me I have Rosacea. I've always been fair-toned and sensitive. And now self-conscious. I've watched tutorials on how to cover it up, but it seems like a lot of make-up, and the whole green/yellow based debate is confusing. I have a few products in mind but I want an idea of my best options before I break the bank. Any suggestions?
I have the Mia2, and unlike the Pro, it doesn't come with a dock. It also doesn't come with a suction cup holder like a lot of razors do. So after I use it, I lay it on its side to let it dry. That takes up precious countertop space and also runs the risk of it tipping over and things getting on the brush. Is there a way around this? I looked at the 3M Command cups, but they are all either too small or too short in terms of height. Mounting a holder with screws isn't an option because that's forbidden in my lease agreement. I also thought about a cup on my countertop, but that would take up space too. Seriously, I need every inch I can get on my countertop. Thank you!
I bought three different 24k Donna Bella products from Hautelook recently because I thought it was a much less expensive way to try the brand. I tried one of the products the other night - the 24k Deep Facial Peeling. It left an awful gum residue on my face that actually balled up and got stuck on every facial hair on my lower jaw/chin area. I had to use alcohol to remove it. I am wondering if Hautelook sold expired or bad product? It is also a non-returnable final-sale item, and Hautelook is refusing to take it back. Has anyone else tried this product? If so, does it really do this, or did I get a bad product? I am now afraid to try the other products I bought because I have to wonder about their freshness/authenticity. Thanks!
I am looking to find a serum or other treatment that can help battle redness. I have noticed redness develop on my cheek area over the past little while. I am looking for a more even skin tone. Suggestions?
I have genetic dark circles, and I know no cream is going to make them go away. Concealer is my best friend. Nevertheless, I would LOVE to be able to mask them at night without wearing actual makeup to bed (never!). The only somewhat concealing eye cream I've found so far is the Origins GinZing, but it's not very pigmented -- it mostly just makes my dark circles shiny. Are there any others out there that will both hydrate & somewhat mask my undereyes when I'm not wearing makeup?
Do you agree with her views on skincare products? I'm on a hunt for my Summer night serum & moisturizer. I think I'm going to purchase the Perricone Blue Plasma even though it stinks so bad of fish & I hate fish. I've been researching products a lot and one of the sites I was on was Paula's Choice. She is not a fan of the serum... Actually the more I read through her "beautypedia" reviews, it seems like she's not a fan of a lot of products. I also got a feeling she was mainly trying to push her own products and Olay. Examples: - She's against treatment cleansers since it's just "washed down the drain". I have to disagree with this. When I use a treatment cleanser, although they can be drying, I do see improvement in my breakouts. - Witch Hazel is bad. I find witch hazel to be an important ingredient when choosing a toner. She think it's just as bad as alcohol if not worse. Products she gave a "poor" rating to: - Anthony Logistic's Glycolic cleanser got a poor rating because it doesn't contain any glycolic acid. - doctor dennis gross's A/B pads since we can just skip step 2 by simply splashing water on our face to deactivate step 1. - Dior Capture Totale One Essential Serum because it's not a "miracle serum" since it's primarily just "water, slip agents, and alcohol" - ExfoliKate - Just about every Ole Henriksen product I love - Origins Checks & Balances, Charcoal Mask & every other decent product from them - Most Murad products I do agree with a few points she makes, like companies need to stop putting active ingredients in clear vials so the sun doesn't break down the properties of the treatment. Also jar packaging is a big no-no for her. I understand that some creams are too thick to be put in a pump, but what about those airless jars that Bosica & Dermadoctor are using? I hate sticking my fingers in jars & the air does break down the active ingredients over time... Overall though, I don't think I'll be going to her site when I'm researching a new product I want to try.
HELP! I think I need to see a doctor because I'm losing my eyelashes. I'm very careful about what eye makeup I use as well as how I remove it . . . very carefully. Is there anything I can do? I've even gone without eye makeup (which doesn't make me feel very pretty at all). Plus it doesn't seem to make any difference.
I don't know if these are new or just that I never saw them before. Anyone using Clarisonic Radiance brush heads? I normally use the Deep pore brush head but I am curious how it is different from the Radiance ones and which one is a better choice.
I've been using Fresh's Seaberry Facial Oil for about a year now and have loved it so much. However, it looks like recently that I've become sensitized to it. (I took it out of my rotation of skincare products, and the eczema on my face is clearing up.) I still have 75% of the bottle left, so I really would love this to just be a way for my facial skin to ask for a break. I have an appt with my derm scheduled (but it will be a few weeks). In the meantime, I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this with a product and was it temporary or permanent? If it was temporary, how long of a break did you give your skin before successfully trying it again?
I was just wondering if any of you have used the BELLI Anti Blemish Face Wash consistently w/ great benefits from it ( I know they have it at Ulta & the single tube is S.O., and their site) ? I am not pregnant but I am having hormonal changes. I am having some breakouts & ( jaw line mainly but doesn't hurt or really turn red, etc.) & temperamental skin ( & I am going through a detox / Holistic health plan). I used a sample of it UST 1 time & loved the way my skin looked & felt instantly (& I am about out of my normal face wash). I looked into Juice Beauty but this seems like a better choice ( & price) for what I have going on ( hormonal imbalance & detox of body, etc. ). It has a bunch of research & screening behind it & it only has Lactic Acid instead of Glycolic, etc. I was also wondering other than the fact our bodies make this on it's own (Lactic Acid), what are the benefits w/ someone like my skin ( & detox)? Also, what is the difference in these acids when it comes to skin type / what's going on w/ skin? I have dry to norm. skin (more so dry but better), redness in cheeks (gotten better), " can be " sensitive skin, and hormonal changes. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Hello, so I have sensitive and dry skin and I am currently using aveeno sensitive skin cleanser and face cream and my face is still breaking out. Using Noxzema helps with the redness and irritation but my skin is still itchy especially with the winter months coming up. I'm afraid to wear makeup because I don't want to make it any worse. Does any one have any suggestions for skin care or foundation that would work well with my skin. Thanks for your help.
I use tazorac (prescription retinoid) and acne gel from the derm...my skin exfoliates constantly and I have yet to find a foundation that works with it. Also, the only cream I've been using on my face is Clinique redness relief cream and Cerave (drugstore# lotion. Anyone else have this problem or have suggestions? I have tried everything from Creme de la Mer to Neutrogena with no luck. I would love to find something that really moisturizes but doesn't make me break out. Help?!
I have the tria hair removal lazor and I can usually handle pain pretty well but when I use this on my skin I can feel the burn and pinch and I was wondering if I could buy a numbing cream? Would the tria still work the same?
I have very pale skin and very dark hair. I have been waxing (legs and bikini) for almost a year now and things are not getting better - the hair is not getting thinner, etc. I am seriously considering buying a Tria to try laser hair removal. Anyone have experience with this? The reviews look good but I have to admit I am a little nervous about dropping so much money on something! Also, I get ingrown hairs VERY easily...will that continue with the laser removal or would it eliminate them? Thanks!
Do any of you mix your tinted moisturizer in w/ your face moisturizer, and if so how do you go about it? Need to simplify things as I got a whole new day-to-day routine I am trying to get used to, and where I am succeeding (& a struggle here & there ), I am slacking in other departments (skin routine, etc.) I let myself get slightly sunburned on the face day before yesterday ( just a slight pink.... but still), b/c I forgot to put on any cc cream or tinted moisturizer. Big Whoops! Thanks
Hello everyone, So I know that this topic has been covered many times before. However I am wanting your help to narrow down the BEST options for an effective eye cream. I've been using the " Bliss Youth As We Know It " eye cream for a while. I can't say that I have found it to be impressive by any means. I'm looking for a cream/gel that has ingredients that are truly going to help make my dark circles less visible. I don't have super dark circles, but they are fairly visible and while I do use corrector & concealer to conceal them when I wear makeup, I do want to treat them as best I can. If you can give me your top picks or give me some ideas on what to look for when shopping that would be great. I believe that if your going to spend a decent amount of money it's going to be on something that has results. I'm not one to be suckered into trying just anything after all :-). Thanks everyone !.
