Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

[ Edited ]

Hello friends! I am always curious to know what people's skincare regimes are; how can a skincare fanatic not want to see what other people are using!

My skin is very strange, it is combination (very) oily, dehydrated, and acne prone along with reactive to various products.

Without further ado, here is my current skincare routine!

Morning:

  1. Cleanse - Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
  2. Tone - FAB Facial Radiance Pads
  3. Hydratation Tone - 100% Pure Rose Water
  4. Serum - Peter Thomas Roth Viz 1000 Hydrating Serum
  5. Moisturize - Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel
  6. Eye Cream - Fresh Lotus Eye Gel

Night:

  1. Cleanse - Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
  2. Tone - FAB Facial Radiance Pads
  3. Hydratation Tone - 100% Pure Rose Water
  4. Treat - Kielhs Midnight Recovery Concentrate

** My nose is very breakout prone, so I do not apply any product to it during the day and use a prescription topical acne medication on it every night to stop the clogged pores **

Lips - Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

Specific Days

  • SUNDAY
    • Shave
    • Exfoliate - Clinique Face Scrub (Mens line)
  • TUESDAY
    • Glamglow Supermud Mask
  • WEDNESDAY
    • Shave
  • SATURDAY
    • Glamglow Powermud Mask

And there you have it! My wonderful, yet crazy, skincare regime!

I am EXTREMELY interested in seeing what your skincare regime is as I am new to the Advice Talks!

I definitely look forward to seeing the different combinations of products and also looking to see what other products I could potentially use!

I love Skincare! It's the best!

I've been very happy with Fresh products.  I was first turned on by it from their Peony treatment mask because it is slowly fading this spot I have under my eyes.  So in my satisfaction, I recently switched to mostly all Fresh products for my skincare routine and I'm impressed with how my spots are disappearing and how soft my skin has been..

Morning:

*Fresh Soy Cleanser + Julep Konjac sponge

*Fresh Rose Water toner

*Fresh Lotus Preserve moisturizer

*(I wear BB cream with SPF in it for sun protection)

Night:

*Fresh Soy Cleanser + Julep Konjac sponge

*Fresh Rose Water toner

*Fresh peony treatment mask

Twice a week:

*Fresh sugar face scrub (in the jar)

*Fresh black tea mask

When I feel I need it, maybe bi monthy during "that time":

*Biore strip for nose (yes I have been using these for years without issues..I have been "attacked" for mentioning this product before so that's why I say that...be careful and you won't lose the skin off your nose..that simple!  Common sense!)

*Freeman clay mask

I need Shiseido 'Urban Environment' Oil-Free UV Protector SPF 42. It seems like the perfect sunscreen for me. However, I cannot find it ANYWHERE in Canada. Ugh!

(My Sephora only carries Shiseido's blue package sunscreens... bummer)!

I was just hunting for this in Canada! I don't think it's available here - I just bought it from Sephora online.

It is seriously the best! I have four stockpiled :smileytongue: Never leaves a greasy finish or a white overcast. Plus, one bottle lasts like 6 months! Hope you can find a way to get it! :smileyhappy:

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

These threads are my favorite! I have oily skin and prone to hormonal breakouts but those are now controlled thanks to my dermatologist. Reading through these posts made me realize I have a really simple routine!

Splash with water

Aczone gel

Clinique DDML with a drop or two of Tarte Maracuja oil

Evening:

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Oil

Tazorac Cream

Clinique DDML

Tarte Maracuja Oil

Vaseline occasionally on top as an occlusive

Weekly:

Aztec Secret Clay mask with ACV

and looking at getting a hydrating mask

This is a fun thread, here is my routine:

Morning

Boscia Black cleanser

Murad hydrating toner

Murad Active radiance Serum

Origin Ginzing eye cream

Murad essential C moisturizer if I am staying home and Shiseido Urban environment oil free sun screen for face

Night:

Lancome makeup remover ( if I am wearing make up)

Boscia Clear complexion cleanser with clarisonic.

Murad hydrating toner

Shiseido ultimate power infusing concentrate

Murad Pigment lightening Serum

Lancome high resolution eye cream

Rotate between PTR camu camu sleeping Mask and PTR Laser free regenerator Gel cream

OTHER:

I don't have fixed day instead I leave 3 days between PEEL and MASK  which says

If I Use philosophy dual radiance peel followed by PTR cucumber mask on Sunday

I will use any of the mask ( I have hell a lot many and even more samples and choose any that suits my mood :smileytongue: ) on Thursday along with Glamglow eye mask.

Then peel again on Monday and mask on Friday.

I get this leaving three days between treatment idea from lylysa, she advised another BTer to do so and I adopted as well and I am happy with it.

I finished my philosophy peel last night and now I'll start the PTR peel that came in a 500 pts perk or if I get the Dr dennis gross peel before next peel day, I'll start that one.

It is interesting how you use a Toner and then a tonic...Do you feel it gives better result than using only one of them?

laurenb703

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

I like the pomegranate toner because it has salicylic acid in it so it helps with blackheads on my nose and other spots around my chin. But it can be a little bit drying because of that. So the Boscia tonic helps add in a little extra moisture before I put on my serum/moisturizer. I read on Caroline Hirons' blog that it's a nice extra step to add in a moisturizing spray to kind of "lock in" that extra moisture. I'm not 100% positive it actually does anything, but it feels really nice and refreshing and I just like it as an extra pampering step lol. And it does calm my skin a little after the acid toner.

Your routine sounds so nice!  How do you like the Korres Pomegranate Toner and the Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream?  Both of those products have been on my list of things to try.

laurenb703

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

Kiehl's eye cream - I lovvvve. It's super moistruzing and I just feel like when I use it I wake up and my under eyes look better than when I don't use it. I don't suffer from extremely bad dark circles or bags though so I'm not sure it would be miracle worker for that, but if you're looking for a good basic eye cream that helps moisturize and keep things looking fresh, I def recommend.

Pomegranate Toner - I like this so far. Sometimes though it makes my skin a little red when I use it but only temporarily. I imagine that's from the salicylic acid in it? I like using it for that though because I do sometimes get blackheads on my nose and other spots around my chin and I feel like since I've been using this those have been getting better and not as many new spots have shown up. I think when I'm finished I might move on to something with a little more acid in it like the FAB pads but I'm also afraid those might be too strong... so we'll see.

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

My skincare regime will probably sound a bit over the top, but I just had to have plastic surgery a month+ ago to have my birthmark removed from my cheek and I'm trying to fade the scar as fast as I can.  I have combo to very dry skin that is acne prone.

Morning:

- Origins Checks and Balances face wash

- Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3

- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum

- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution

- Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Moisture Defense Lotion Oil-Free SPF 30

Night:

- Koh Gen Doh Cleansing Spa Water Cloths (if I have a lot of makeup on)

- Origins Checks and Balances face wash

- Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Peel Extra Strength

- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum

- Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution

- Lancer Intensive Night Treatment

- Benzoyl Peroxide as a spot treatment if needed

I usually use Glam Glow or another mask once a week too!

Hi sace021! I've also had stitches on my face that left a scar and my dermatologist prescribed me RetinA to help fade the scar. Obviously it's not for everyone but I thought I'd mention it as a possibility for you since you are using retinol products in your routine now - a prescription strength may be more effective for you (but they can also be very harsh to some people so definitely talk to your derm!)

sace021

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

Thanks, laurenb703!  I'm trying to give it a little time because I know my subcutaneous stitches haven't dissolved yet.  It will probably lay a little bit flatter when they do.  I will definitely keep RetinA in mind, though!  I am soooo impatient, lol!

I loved reading everyone else's regimes, especially hearing about brands I didn't know much about.

Here is mine:

Morning-

Wash with Philosophy Purity (adding Vasanti exfoliating crystals 2x/week afterwards)

PTR Camu Camu serum

PTR Camu Camu moisturizer

Murad Mattifying oil-control lotion on my t-zone

Tarte Maracuja eye cream (or other samples) during winter only

Before working out-

Kat Von D Unlock it makeup remover wipe

Nighttime-

Alternating nights with Philosophy purity cleanser used with Clairsonic and Boscia Tsubaki oil-infused exfoliating powder (which I mix with water to make more like a foamy cleanser, less like an exfoliator)

PTR camu camu serum

Alternating nights with PTR camu camu sleep mask and Retin-A

Fresh Age-delay eye brightening concentrate

Tarte maracuja oil (in winter only as necessary)

Fresh lip balm (super thick layer)

1x-2x per week, I use one of the following-

GlamGlow mask (working my way through tons of samples)

Fresh mask (ditto on the samples from the Mask promo)

Boscia blue or white mask

GlamGlow eye treatment

I'm very careful about what I use, because I'm acne prone, but I have a lot of curiosity around different products.. so its always a struggle but fr right now,

(combination, dehydrate, acne prone sensitive skin)

Morning

  • Swanicoco pearl cleanser
  • Thayers rose water toner (love that its alcohol free and has witch hazel. couldn't find anything this gentle)
  • Manyo factory ultra moist rebirth ampoule
  • Andalou naturals Eye gel
  • Loccitane Divine eyes
  • Andalou naturals 1000 roses serum
  • Andalou naturals 1000 roses day cream
  • skin ceuticals physical fusion sunscreen

Evening

  1. Biorhterma or Koh Gendo cleansing water
  2. Makeup forever or Aritaum lip and eye makeup remover
  3. Boscia detoxxifying cleanser with clarisonic
  4. Thayers toner
  5. Manyo factory ampoule
  6. Andalou naturals 1000 roses eye gel
  7. Algenist eye balm
  8. by nature face serum
  9. Manyo factory facial oil
  10. Andalou naturals lift and firm moisturizer.

Once a week,

Boscia Luminizing black mask

Sulwhasoo peeling gel or exfolikate

If I have blemishes I use Paula's choice benzyol perxoide. I've tried many including prescription ones, but despite the fact that I hate her biased reviews most of the times, this one is well balanced and very effective without being as irritating to the skin.

I also use refrigerated sheet masks on days where I was in the sun for a long time or if my skin is feeling particularly dehydrated. I like Innisfree, but I also like buying empty masks to soak in coconut water
