Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

[ Edited ]

Hello friends! I am always curious to know what people's skincare regimes are; how can a skincare fanatic not want to see what other people are using!

My skin is very strange, it is combination (very) oily, dehydrated, and acne prone along with reactive to various products.

Without further ado, here is my current skincare routine!

Morning:

  1. Cleanse - Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
  2. Tone - FAB Facial Radiance Pads
  3. Hydratation Tone - 100% Pure Rose Water
  4. Serum - Peter Thomas Roth Viz 1000 Hydrating Serum
  5. Moisturize - Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel
  6. Eye Cream - Fresh Lotus Eye Gel

Night:

  1. Cleanse - Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
  2. Tone - FAB Facial Radiance Pads
  3. Hydratation Tone - 100% Pure Rose Water
  4. Treat - Kielhs Midnight Recovery Concentrate

** My nose is very breakout prone, so I do not apply any product to it during the day and use a prescription topical acne medication on it every night to stop the clogged pores **

Lips - Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

Specific Days

  • SUNDAY
    • Shave
    • Exfoliate - Clinique Face Scrub (Mens line)
  • TUESDAY
    • Glamglow Supermud Mask
  • WEDNESDAY
    • Shave
  • SATURDAY
    • Glamglow Powermud Mask

And there you have it! My wonderful, yet crazy, skincare regime!

I am EXTREMELY interested in seeing what your skincare regime is as I am new to the Advice Talks!

I definitely look forward to seeing the different combinations of products and also looking to see what other products I could potentially use!

I love Skincare! It's the best!

Another Thayer's lover! I just started using it but I love how gentle it is.

Currently going through a revamping stage so I often switch out products but here the bare bones of my routine

[MORNING]

  • splash with water (if grimey then wash with Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - Extra Mild)
  • Nivea Gentle Toner for sensitive skin (if I used a cleanser to help soothe my skin)
  • Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme
  • Clinique Super City Block SPF 40

[NIGHT]

  • Remove the day-face with one of the 3 methods:
  1. OCM w/ baby oil if heavy makeup, cleanse with Clinique Liquid Facial Soap
  2. Bioderma Sensibio if light makeup
  3. YesTo Cucumbers (or Blueberries) Facial Wipes if lazy

  • closest eye cream/serum I can grab
  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-winkle Cream
  • spot treat w/ Neautogena Naturals Acne Spot Treatment

ONCE WEEKLY

[NIGHT]-Usually Friday

  • Remove days face w/ Bioderma Sensibio
  • St Ives Green Tea Blemish Control Cleanser
  • Nivea Gentle Toner for sensitive skin
  • closest eye cream/serum I can grab
  • Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-winkle Cream

[ONCE WEEKLY MASKS]- one of the following usually on Sunday

  • Natural Honey + Tumeric - for texture and uneven tone
  • GlamGlow Youthmud - for rough patches
  • Boscia Mask - for dryness OR brightness OR dirty pores (I have 3)

My skin:

  • normal leaning dry
  • sensitive
  • prone to texture, rare hormonal breakouts, dry patches
  • PIH

Note: I use a toner to soothe and not provide extra exfoliation since cleansing can be rough and really dry it out no matter how mild it is.

I am currently researching serums for night as I am getting to that age and I will probably bring Queen Helens Mint Julep back into my mask rotation.

Oily t-zone/Normal cheeks and chin

My regimen often depends on what I'm trying to use up. Like right now I have too many open eye creams and moisturizers. I sent some moisturizers and cleansers to my daughter thankfully, but I'd love to finish some things so I can move on and try something new.

Last month I finished Philosophy Purity, Boscia Super Charge Overnight Moisture, and Fresh Soy Face Cleanser!!!

Morning:

1. Tone - Arcona Triad Pads (Cranberry Toner)

2. Exfoliant - Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid (if needed)

3. Serum - Kate Sommerville Complexion Correction Daily Discoloration Perfector or Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti Wrinkle Serum

4. Eye Cream - Fresh Black Tea Age Delay Eye or Caudalie Premier Cru Eye

5. Moisturizer - Caudalie Mattifying Fluid or Josie Maran Argan Spf 40 or Boscia Self-Defense Antioxidant Spf 30

6. Lips - Bite Agave Lip Mask

Night:

1. Kat von D wipes or Sephora Wipes

2. Cleanse - First Aid Beauty Antioxidant Cleanser

3. Tone - Arcona Triad Pads (Cranberry Toner) or Shiseido Hydro-Balancing Softner or Paula's Choice Resist Anti-aging Toner

3. Exfoliate - Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid

4. Serum - Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti Wrinkle Serum

5. Eye Cream - Fresh Black Tea Age Delay Eye or Caudalie Premier Cru Eye or Peter Thomas Roth Neuroliquid Volufill Youth Eye Serum or Philosophy Full of Promise

6. Facial Moisturizer - Caudalie Premier Cru or Korres Wild Rose Sleeping Facial or Perricone Face Finishing Moisturizer

7. Lips - Bite Agave Lip Mask, but recently opened Fresh Sugar Lip Serum and topping with Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

I occasionally reach for more products b/c I have so many plus I have foil samples and store samples to work through.

How does the Caudalie Mattifying Fluid work... does it really keep you matte?

Seems whenever I try to use a mattifying moistuirzer, they never work and always break me out!

I LOVE the Sephora Wipes! Cannot live without :smileyhappy:!

Oh, I love this thread!  Here's my routine:

Morning

PTR Glycolic Acid 3% Facial Wash with my Clarisonic

PTR Retinol Fusion AM with spf 30

Algenist firming & lifting eye gel

Fresh lip scrub

Caudalie lip Conditioner

Evening

PTR Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel with my Clarisonic

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel

PTR Retinol Fusion PM

Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum

rx Retinol

CeraVe pm face cream

I also use Ole Henriksen Power Peel Professional Spa Grade Kit once every two weeks.

I make sure to keep up with a micro dermabrasion or a low grade chemical peel once every 6 weeks; since I've been doing this my products seem to work so much better.  I think it's because they don't have to fight old dead layers of skin to seep in and work their magic!

Oh! I almost forgot! I couldn't sleep without first applying Bites Agave Lip Mask (original).  This is the greatest lip mask I've ever come across.

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

I love skincare too! My routine changes daily but for the most part my go-to's are:

Morning:

Cleanse: one of the following: Sunday Riley ceramic slip, CellCeuticals extremely gentle cleanser or Boscia cool cleansing oil. Seriously, I never use one more than the other.

Exfoliate: Dermatologica daily exfoliator or Laura Mercier face polish (LM is like 3x/ week)

Tone: either Omorovicza queen of Hungary mist or Tres Pure face tonic.

Serum: Lancome dream tone (darn sun and its spots)

Eyes: Laura Mercier skin repair eye serum AND Peter Thomas Roth mega rich intensive eye cream

Mouisturize: Kate Somerville dilo oil (new love)

Lips: good ol' Vaseline! (Until lipstick/gloss, of course)

Night:

Cleanse: Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm

Treat: Radical skincare age-defying exfoliating pads

Tone: none

Body: Caudalie divine oil - I use this on my arms and decolletage before bed and I swear the smell puts me to sleep. I'm like the babies with the scented "soothing sleep" body lotion. :smileyhappy:

everything else is basically the same except I always put on more product at night (extra eye cream and extra face oil). I'm not much of a "heavy nighttime moisturizer" at night in the summer; I really don't need it.

End0ra

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

What do you think of the Omorovicza products?  I've only tried one (sample of the BB cream).  I loved it and looked into purchasing, but then just about fainted when I looked at the prices!  Are they worth the money?

hessychris

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

I know!! Some things are definitely worth the money. The cleansing balm is something I can never live without, which is unfortunate for my bank account. I love their balancing moisturizer- very light and not really for really dry skin. I love the new pore refining polisher but I haven't bought it yet ( when I buy directly from omorovicza they send me samples of that PLUS they have loyalty points that you can actually use to buy full sized products!! That's a huge score right there!) There are things that I'll never repurchase again like their serum and deep cleansing mask (everyone loves it but it's not great for me).

The only thing I didn't love was the BB cream, ha! I only had a sample and it was way too light for me (color wise). Otherwise it was beautiful - I am going to enable you and say buy it!!! :smileyhappy:

End0ra

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

Ha!  Things that are too light in color for most are often about right for me.

my routine is posted in this thread (currently on page 2).

http://community.sephora.com/t5/Skincare-Stories/What-is-your-regular-skincare-routine/m-p/1547928

a few things have changed since i wrote it, primarily i just have more products that i rotate through (like FAB radiance pads during exfoliating tone stage, and FAB purifying mask. basically i've discovered how much i love First Aid Beauty).

would it be easier if i just copied and pasted my reply here ? i dunno.

jemly

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

i'll write it out without the long explanations like my last post linked to above.

A.M.

  • cleanse. something like FAB cleanser (non-foaming).
  • hydrating toner. if my skin is needing extra help i'll exfoliate too but usually leave this for night. lately i've been grabbing for my MURAD vit c essence toner and/or caudalie beauty elixir
  • spot treat if necessary
  • moisturize. aveda botanical kinetics moisturizer or caudalie vinosource sorbet

P.M.

  • take makeup off with cleansing balm and warm wet washcloth. currently reaching for clinique's take the day off balm the most.
  • cleanse. FAB cleanser or sometimes proactiv benzoyl peroxide wash if i'm needing more help.
  • exfoliating toner. FAB radiance pads, kate somerville clarifying toner or aveda botanical kinetics exfoliant, for example
  • moisturizing toner. at night it usually is a rosewater or caudalie beauty elixir
  • facial oil / serum. clarins blue lotus oil (mmmmmmmmmm)
  • eye cream. lately i've had so many foil samples i've been going through those ! i really just focus on hydration, no cream is going to reverse these dark circles !!! bobbi brown has a nice hydrating eye cream i'm about to finish up too.
  • moisturize. i don't use a different moisturizer in the p.m. i may change to something heavier for night once it's cold out though. i'm also working through a few samples of ole henriksen sheer transformation which is really lovely.

1 - 3 times a week

a mask depending on my needs. a clay mask like kiehl's rare earth, caudalie vinoperfect enzymatic peel mask or FAB skin rescue purifying mask

Ahh! Love it; sounds like a really nice regime!

I've been meaning to try Caudalie's Beauty Elixir! How do you like it? Is it worth the price? I have seen people raving about it and it's tempting me to get it!

Definitely going to get a sample of some of these products!

Thank you so much for reposting!

Ps., if you are looking for a more heavy/intense moisturizer at night during the winter months, try out Ole Henriksen's Nurture Me cream. It is a beautiful product and also smells amaaaaaazing!

jemly

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

i love the beauty elixir. it really helped balance me out when i started overhauling my skincare regime around 6 months ago. it *does* have alcohol (surprisingly), so it's not for everyone, BUT i've found that the good stuff in it outweighs the presence of alcohol. get the travel size, it's $18, take it with you anywhere.

I have combination skin, leaning more dry than oily.  Sensitive skin.  Hormonal breakouts.

Currently....

Morning

cleanse: Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water

eyes: Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate

serum:  Ole Henriksen Truth Serum

moisturizer+SPF:  Paula's Choice Hydralight Shine Free Mineral Complex SPF 30

Evening

remove makeup:  Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

cleanse:  Shiseido Pureness Cleansing Foam, every other night--used with Clarisonic + Luxe brush head

tone:  Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Toner

eyes:  Dr. Gross Ferulic+Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum (sample)---but my usual is Paula's Choice Resist Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum

eyes: Ole Henricksen Ultimate Eye Lift Gel (sample)---but my usual right now is Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream

serum: Paula's Choice Resist Super Antioxidant Concentrate

moisturize:  2 pumps of Paula's Choice Resist Barrier Repair mixed with 2-3 drops of Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil

lips: Dior Creme De Rose

Weekly

Mask:   2-4 times, mainly Korean sheet masks.  Or Martinni masks.

Mask:  once a week, I'll do Wei Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask OR Aveda Deep Cleansing Herbal Clay Masque

Exfoliate:  currently doing twice a week with Vasanti Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator

Lips: Fresh Sugar Lip Scrub, usually just once a week

Eye Creams and Serums change up a bit, I've always got samples.  If I'm experiencing breakouts, a lot of the above is subject to change.  I switch to an Aveda cleanser and use a combination of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid products.  Masking---I'll alternate the Wei mud mask with Aloe Vera sheet masks.

Seasonally, I change things up.  Fall & Winter are fast approaching...I'll use a more gentle cleanser in the evening.  My nightly eye cream will most likely be Kiehl's Avocado.  I'll add my Korres Greek Yogurt sleeping mask to the mix.

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

Carrie-

I've  been meaning to try the cleansing water from KGD myself.  Hautelook is having a sale on his stuff Friday- hopefully I can score some if they're selling it.  You may want to stock up yourself! :smileyhappy:

carrieloulou

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

Oh, thank you!!  I've bought from them before and have been wondering when they'd be on next.

They usually have the 3.38oz bottle in a 3 pack.   The only drawback is Hautelook's shipping.

Oh I know, it's the worst!! I get orders at my door that I forgot I purchased! I hardly buy from them anymore because of that reason. I ordered shoes that took like 2.5 months - it was the next season and couldn't even wear them!

immichaeld

Re: Skincare Regimes! Let's talk about them!

How is clinique's cleansing balm? Seems as if I may need to get one hearing a lot of people do it!

I had Ole's Truth Serum but it did not do anything for my skin, unfortunately. That's when I switched to PTR.

I am also really wanting to try Caudalie's Vino Radiance Serum!
