Need new cleanser

First let me tell you I have OILY skin with large pores and fine lines on forehead and between eyebrows. Except for lines around my eyes I do not look like I am in my 40's and I want to keep it that way!

I have been using Boscia Cleansing Gel with my clarisonic followed by Perricone Power Couple during the day. At night I use Perricone evening repair. But lately I have noticed I have a few hard white heads on my lower cheeks and 1 small blackhead on the tip of my nose that will not go away! (I do not know if anyone else can see it but I can and it is driving me crazy :smileymad:

I also use Murad AHA/BHA exfoliating once a week.

This last week I tried several different samples of cleansers that I had: Perricone Citrus Facial Wash - do not like, makes my skin feel tight. Purity - do not feel that my face is clean. Last night I tried Peter Thomas Roth Anti-aging cleansing gel. I liked the smell and the way my skin felt afterwards. But today when I read the reviews I am not sure if it is the right product for me.

Any thoughts? Is PTR the right product for me? Should I only use it once a day and keep using the Boscia in the morning?

Thanks in advance!

I am going to suggest Murad's Clarifying cleanser. I have never tried the Murad exfoliator (it's on my list) but since you already use a product from that line it would be a good choice. It has a citrusy smell initially but nothing lasting. I find it very pleasant. I also find that I can tune how much cleansing I want. If I rub my face with it for a good while my skin feels squaeky clean afterwards. But if I have some irritation and want a less harsh cleaning I just do a quick wash and my skin still feels clean and fresh.

The clairsonic's recommended use is actually only a couple of times a week..in general your regimen seems like its really going hard on your skin. Have you tried AmorePacific's line? Their enzyme peel might be better for your skin than the murad mask because it exfoliates without the tight feeling. You can use it with the clairsonic as well.

DDF also has a very nice exfoliating glycolic wash, but again becareful because it might be too much exfoliating.

i also have oily skin and the best cleanser i have found is dermalogica special cleansing gel, especially if you use it twice in a row. you don't need much because the lather is just outrageous! i guess that makes up for the price because it's over $50! i used to get it at my work with a discount, but i no longer work there so i've gone back to olay, which is good enough. when i use it i like the feeling of really clean skin and that's what you get with special cleansing gel.

I have oily skin that is prone to blackheads and have had success with Perricone's glycolic acid bar.  Since you're using the clarisonic you don't want to use any products that contain any scrub ingredients.  I have tried the citrus wash by Perricone also and I definitely like the glycolic bar much better.

I recommend Acnetix and Origins Checks and Balances Cleanser or Sibu Beauty Complexion Soap.

Holy Moly you're doing a lot of washing and scrubbing and probably causing more oil production.  Data speaks, and 2% salicylic acid or benzoil peroxide will kill the zits (caused by bacteria).  You didn't say whether pimples are common on your skin or just the oil.  If it is just oil, plenty of less expensive  cleansers on the market that help this.  Clean & Clear makes one, Neutrogena, etc.  Using an AHA moisturizer (YES even oily skin needs moisture - really good to use at night) will exfoliate for you and then just sticking to a once/week gentle scrub or mask is good.  The white-heads are clogged pores so even a good old-fashioned face over steaming water pot with towel over your head method is a cheap, effective way to unclog. Pore strips work great - but please don't use more often than the package instructs as it can backfire on you.  Overcleansing, scrubbing and messing with your skin causes rebellion!  Also give your new products time to work. Constantly changing types can confuse everything.  Start with less expensive brands.  Most important - be patient!
