I struggle with oily skin, and I MUST carry my oil blotting sheets with me everyday to blot away the oil throughout the day. I've been trying to find a good face wash to help reduce oil, and I'm having a hard time on identifying a good product specifically for oily skin. I was using Proactiv previously, but wasn't satisfied with the results. So I now use Cetaphil, and I've been OKAY with it. Another thing I should mention is that I wear very minimal makeup - I only put on mascara, and occasionally wear blush, but no foundation or concealer or anything like that. The times I have, my face felt very heavy because of my oily skin. Any help/recommendations would be greatly appreciated - thanks all!
I have the most odd skin!! This post is really about suggestions for a daytime moisturizer for my extremely oily yet dehydrated skin but I would also welcome skin care suggestions. I do not have acne but have a lot of clogged pores and a few blackheads. My skin is extremely oily 30 minutes after makeup application, very large pores, very sensitive and many fine lines (due to the dehydration). When I first wake up my face looks great. Then when I get out of the shower and my face is clean and wet, it looks great and feels the best it does all day. However, as the day wears on, it gets worse. I have to 'blot' my whole face every hour and use 2-3 blotting sheets to combat the oiliness or I look like a complete oil slick. After using them, my face feels very dry and tight and will leave my makeup patchy in some areas but shiny again in about 30 mins. I can't use anything mattifying or oil controlling as they aggravate my skin. I can't use gels as they aren't moisturizing enough and leaves my face tight, warm, red and itchy. Heavy oil based creams are too rich for my skin and clog my pores even more altho they feel great on! I also tried facial oils but they just leave me even more of a greasy mess. My current skin care routine: Clinique Take The Day Off Oil (nighttime as makeup remover) Create Hydrating Cleanser (twice a day) Clinique Mild Toner (alcohol free, twice a day) Clinique Turnaround Essence Lotion (twice a day) Mac Moisture Infusion Serum & Clinique Turnaround Serum (daytime) Estee Lauder ANR / Drunk Elephant TLC Glycolic Serum (alternating nights) Clinique Turnaround Overnight Moisturizer (always at night, now also in the morning as it is the only thing I have right now) Clinique Turnaround Facial Oil (only at night, over my moisturizer) Clinique Clay Mask (twice a week) Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask (once or twice a week, in place of my moisturizer) I have tried many, many products over the last few years and nothing has solved my issues. Price is not an issue as long as it works. Any suggestions or recommendations would be great! Thanks Ladies
Hi! I want to start a face/skin care routine with the whole toners and moisturizer thing but have no idea where to begin. I am currently doing the old fashion way, warm water, face wash, and face lotion. I have oily skin some what sensitive skin and would love to hear what some of you recommend as a "beginners routine".
Hi all! I am looking to switch my skin routine. I have very oily skin that is prone to breakouts, especially in my forehead area. I do not wear makeup daily, so I am not very concerned with products that are great at removing makeup. I have been using proactiv for the past few years, but am no longer satisfied with the results. I am also in college, so I would not like to break the bank and would like to stay in the $20 or below range for each product! Also, I do not have much time in the mornings for getting ready, so I was wondering if you guys had suggestions for what part of the skin care routine is essential for everyday, versus extra things I could do from time to time I'm a newbie when it comes to skin care, so any advice is great, thanks!
I'm trying to get better about taking my skincare regime seriously. I have combination skin, mostly oily in the T zone. Lately I've been breaking out on my chin and cheeks. I'm looking for something that is very light but still hydrating. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am 16 I have oily skin and I am starting to break out, I use Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream but its not enough coverage. Been thinking about getting foundation but I'm scared I will break out more! Plus my skin is so oily that after I powder up I am oily again after 3 hours! I use the rimmel stay matte powder. Need tips and product recommendations for foundation or powders, and how to control breaking out! Please and Thank you
Hey Everyone! Lately my skin has become very oily. To start off, I have oily skin, but it is always under control by using Boscia cleanser and Fresh Seaberry oil. I have been using those products for a year now and haven't had a major breakout since and my skin has been lovely! Lately my skin hasn't been responding to my moisturizer, and it's such a huge problem that I'm about to switch to an oil free moisturizer. Any suggestions? I'm very strict on my skin and I live a very healthy lifestyle and drink at least a gallon of water a day so I'm really confused why all of a sudden my skin is acting up. Also, do you think it's because of this crazy weather that my skin is just out of whack? I live in Louisiana and the weather has been 30 degrees with no humidity one day and 85 degrees with 75% humidity the next lol. I just didn't want to blame the weather
i am a sufferer of oily skin and im just so tired of my foundation caking up after awhile. i cannot stand how i use my usual routine of washing, exfoliating, toning, moisturizing and priming my face and it still does this. im really coming close to terms with the fact my skin is just so darn oily . either i need new foundation, possibly a new wash or what. i just need something to help
hey! ok hope its not too gross, but when I touch my forehead, I have all these skin scales and oily whatever on a tissue. To illustrate it better, i touched it with a blue cloth. in the evening its even worse I have large pores and acne scars and simply hate my skin. Any product ideas? I know its difficult via the web but i wanna give it a try
I currently use Nate tinted moisturizer as my everyday foundation/base. I notice ice that whenever I go to the bathroom my face (especially in the t- zone) is disgustingly oily. There's so much oil you could fry an egg off my face! Sometimes ill ill use the hourglass primer if I'm feeling fancy but I feel like it's too expensive to use as an everyday thing. Whenever I use it I don't see much of a difference anyways. I also sometimes use laura mercier finishing powder (translucent powder) don't really remember what it's called. Ive always had a very oily t zone but lately I guess I'm noticing it more. Is there a better tinted moisturizer I should be using? I bought the nars after a girl at sephora recommended it to me along with the hourglass primer after I told her I am super oily is there a face cream, cleanser or skin care regime that can take care of that oiliness for me? i know I can use blotting papers throughout the day but after half an hr I'm all oily again. I'd rather find a cure than just a remedy. Thnaks!!
I've currently tried several foundations, and NONE will stay on my face, regardless of how much or what kind of primer or setting spray I put on. So far I have tried Make Up Forever HD, Nars Sheer Glow, Kat Von D Lock It, Hourglass Immaculate, Urban Decay Naked, as well as a ton of drugstore brands...and none stay on. I had tried a Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able foundation sample, it doesnt seem to be a holy grail product for me, but it stays on a lot better than the others. However, of course, they have no shades close to me. I need to mix together shades 10 and 12 to get my color, and I really do not want to pay $110 for foundation. I have heard good things about the Giorgio Armani and Estee Lauder foundations...would these be better? Are there any other suggestions? Thank you so much in advance!

I can't find anything for my skin that works! I use Finacea Gel for my Rosacea as prescribed by my dermatologist. My face is a mess though! Red, oily, sensitive and full of aggressive acne bumps. I've tried everything and I'm beyond caring whether my routine is anti-aging or not. I just want my face back! My scalp already itches from Seborrheic Dermatitis and I have tiny bits of Psoriasis on my fingers and toes. Help me anyone! I'm willing to dip my face in acid at this point!
I am currently in the search for a new night time moisturizer for my oily skin. I am currently using an Olay night time moisturizer that I purchased from Wal-Mart and it is not doing anything for my skin but rather have gotten more oily. In the morning I wake up with A LOT of grease and I believe that's a sign that it's not doing anything positive for my skin. As I have mentioned already I have over all oily skin, large pores and no major acne, just hormonal acne here and there during my time of the month. My main focus is to reduce my oiliness, thus a hydrating moisturizer. Any recommendations would be very much appreciated and helpful! Side Note: I am not on a budget, no price range (:
I am 16 and have EXTREMELY oily skin. No primer works for me and I can't seem to find ANY makeup that won't slide off my face within 2 hours. I go through about 5 blotting sheets a day. I eat fairly healthy and drink water. I am on prescribed face wash from my dermatologist because I used to get cystic acne on my chin, but my whole face just won't keep any makeup on! Any suggestions for relatively inexpensive primers/foundations? I have tried the porefessional primer and makeup forever ultra HD primer. Thanks!
Hey! I have really oily skin with redness and have a whole set of skin care routine. But for the last couple months the bottom of my eyes have been very irritated. It all started when I bought an eye make up remover from clarins for sensitive skin, it burned my eyes and returned it and bought the Dr. Jart water and that has been working fine but the irritation doesnt go away. I tried the first aid beauty eye cream since an employee at the sephora store recommended it to me due to the irritation and sensitive skin. It actually started burning my skin so I returned it and got an origins brand eye cream. The irritation stopped for a while until recently. Even a q-tip burns that area and I don't know what else to try. PLEASE HELP
Hey Everyone! I'm 35 and recently saw my dermatologist who prescribed a retinoid for anti-aging and a bit of acne. My breakouts are limited to that time of the month with the main concern being treating and preventing fine line and wrinkles. After using the retinoid about 3 times / week for a couple of weeks I'm experiencing peeling, flaky skin. I know this is a normal side-effect but I'm looking for a moisturizer to treat and prevent this that is still suitable for my oily skin. As far as my current routine, I have a 2 step toning process. Either FAB facial radiance pads or Biologique Recherche P50 and Caudalie Grape Water. On nights when I'm not using the Rx retinoid, my serum is Sunday Riley Good Genes. I moisturize with Josie Maran Argan Oil Light. Apologies for the long post but I'd appreciate any moisturizer recommendations that you all have! Thanks!
I am a teenage girl with super oily skin, large pores, and mild acne. My main concerns are definitely the oily skin and large pores, though. Would a Clarisonic Mia 1 or 2 be a good investment for me? If so, which one? Have those of you with similar problems experienced success with the Clarisonic? If you don't think Clarisonic would help with my particular skin, are there other tools you would recommend instead that might be better? I am definitely open to others if they could help reduce my oil, tighten my pores, and keep my breakouts at a minimum. Quick responses would be awesome, as I'm looking at buying one over Black Friday or on Cyber Monday if there are good deals.
Hello! I am 35 years old and I have been struggling with oily skin since my "tweens" (we didn't use that term back then!). Even at my age now, my skin could produce enough oil to heat my home. I feel like I've done/tried everything. I've read some of the other posts from oily skinned ladies and found them helpful, but I want to put my issues out there and see if there is any feedback. I feel like I take care of my skin well. Skin care has always been a top priority for me. As is normally the case with oily skin, I do still break out occassionally. I use a combination of acne prone skin products, as well as some gentle products for sensitive skin. The bain of my existence is foundation... In my teens I went overkill - heavy foundation, concealer, pressed powder, the works (all drugstore products). I look back at pics and could cry...I wish someone had told me that I was only making matters worse! In my early twenties I started using department store foundations, but my makeup still looked too heavy. In my mid twenties I tried Bare Minerals, I had a tough time getting used to it but I grew to love it. I used that consistently for about 8 years - my skin never looked better! I even went without foundation once in awhile, which was a huge deal for me. But then something changed and I found that Bare Minerals was not doing it's magic for me anymore. Getting older might be the reason, I don't know. I just found that instead of it making me look lit from within and blurred my flaws, I was looking tired and dull. So for the last two plus years I have been trying (and returning) tons of foundations. I research, read reviews, look at pics, then try one. Each one has been a fail. Some were okay...I really liked Hourglass Immaculate because it held up well and looked natural, but I could never get a good color match. I went back to Bare Minerals, but I just don't know. I feel like there must be something better out there. My husband says I'm over critical and that he thinks that Bare Minerals looks as good on me as it did before. I guess we never see ourselves the way others do. This has taken over my life. I am constantly concerned about what my skin looks like. Your face is the first thing people see, and I hate feeling embarrassed. I'm constantly checking myself in the mirror, in different lighting. I work in a professional environment, but I feel like by 9:00am my face is melting, and how professional does that look? My other skin issues are acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. I'm not looking to fully cover every flaw - I hate cakey looking foundation, ones that are heavy or unnatural looking. Medium coverage is good as I don't have as much to cover as I used to. I'm searching for long wearing, but I'm not unrealistic. Any suggestions or trips would be tremendously appreciated!
Hi, I just bought the foreo holiday gift set. The one that comes with the face cleanser, moisturizer and mask. I feel like it may be too gentle but I want to use it for maybe a few weeks before really decided to return it. Since it was $199 for the set, but a regular foreo is also $199 can I keep the full size bosica facial cleanser and the moisturizer if I end up deciding to return the foreo holiday set http://www.sephora.com/luna-holiday-cleansing-coll ection-with-boscia-for-combination-skin-P401610?sk ... Thanks guys. Just want to know before I end up using the products
I usually don't wear foundation because I work at a daycare but I am returning back to college and I am looking for a foundation that will keep my skin acne free and will stay on all day with my oily skin Thanks!
So, I have my eye on a few items for the sale and I wanted feedback First is the Diffused Light by Hourglass: Im very fair with yellow to neutral undertones, dim is way to dark and makes me look muddy. Also a day time moisturizer to wear under foundation, I have oily to combo skin, that is acne prone, and sensitive.
