Hey everyone! I have SUPER oily skin and in desperate need of new cleansing and makeup system. Currently I use St. Ives apricot scrub and apply sephora acne-fighting mattifying moisturizer in the morning and at night. I then use sephora silicone free foundation primer. a tiny bit of concealer where i need it and then my makeup forever mat velvet + mattifying foundation with the beauty blender and finish it off with fx illuminating setting powder. usually about 2 after applying my makeup I can feel the oil building up on my skin and have to start blotting but then about 2 hours later I am doing the same thing over again. Even getting the blotting down to once a day is better than doing it every 2 hours. I have tried looking for new products but there are just so many out there I have no idea where to start. any suggestions would be wicked great thank you!!
I have been breaking out lately along my chin and lower jawline. I just bought an acne regimen online last night (after much debate-the Clinique acne set.) Reading the reviews, it's very drying. I already have dry patches around my nose (d @ mn you, winter!!!) and so I ordered the Korres Greek Yogurt trio as well. Anyone with breakout prone skin tried the Korres? If so, did you use it every night or a few times a week?
I have extremely oily skin in my T-Zone as well. I literally have tried The Becca Ever Matte Primer, MUFE Mat Velvet +, Nars the Matte foundation, I've tried almost all of the oil-free and oily skin drugstore foundations. I need some serious advice... Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I have to powder within 1-2 hours of applying my makeup. Also, I have acne prone skin, and I feel like giving up. Please, help a girl out!
Hi ladies! I'm currently looking to try a facial oil since I've heard so many great reviews about it. I have extremely oily (sometimes combo?), acne-prone skin, and I've been using oil-free skin care products all my life. I've tried so many moisturizers, but I'm not fully satisfied because my face would get oily 1-2 hours after applying them. After doing some research, I narrowed down to 2 products: Josie maran argan oil and the Tarte Maracuja oil. Which one is better in term of hydration, fast absorption, control oil? I'd greatly appreciate your input/ help! Thanks!
Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get some help with my oily skin! I have very oily skin and big pores and my skin gets sooo oily by noon time! I want to try the boscia black line, but I wanted to hear from some people about what products they use first! So this is what I do now: I wash my face in the shower with a neutrogena exfoliater (right now its a apricot scrub, but I was just using one for pore refining). I use clinique pore minimuzing serum (just started using this a couple weeks ago). I also use a clinique moisturizer (dramatically different gel in summer and moisture surge extended in winter/right now). Then I use smashbox primer light and bare minerals matte makeup (foundation, warmth, blush, mineral veil). When I have time in the afternoon I will use some oil blotting sheets and some touch up mineral veil. At night I wash my face with a toner because if I was my face with an exfoliater twice in one day, it gets super dry. I then put on the pore minimizing serum again and then a topical gel prescription from my doctor for acne. Please let me know if I should be doing anything differently! I have combination skin. I tend to be really dry around my nose and mouth when I get out of the shower. Maybe I need to try a different moisturizer, but I've tried so many and they just aren't strong enough. I need your help and I need to try something new because my face gets so oily and shiny and it emphasizes my pores and melts off my makeup! Thank you!!
Is REN Hydra-Calm Cleansing Milk permanently gone? I just got turned on to this great product that was in my blitz bag. I have it in my cart and it said it was out of stock. When I clicked on it, there is no product at all and looks like Sephora will no longer carry it. Is this true or will it come back?
I don't know anything about this stuff. I've never worn a primer before and have yet to find a good moisturizer. I was hoping someone could recommend me some products that would make all 3 of those items go well together (as in their ingredients not cancelling each other out, causing break outs if mixed, as well as not making it look or feel excessive). If a primer that doubles as a moisturizer exists, then that would probably be ideal since my skin might be too oily to require both? But I want my foundation to look better and my skin does get flaky in places if not moisturized. I currently use: cleanser, exfoliation, toner;;; moisturizer, straight to foundation, and then powder if I'm oily/feel myself getting oily Things you might need to know: Skin Type: combination-oily? -Shine on forehead, nose, sometimes chin -Flaky on the bottom of the cheeks near the mouth, sometimes nose, sometimes forehead (even though those places are also oily) Acne?: -blackheads (nose, a little between brow, a little on chin) -- don't know why -seldom get cysts (chin) but that's usually hormonal -prone to getting closed whiteheads (forehead, a little on chin) -- so the product can't be pore clogging please D: Goal/look I desperately want: -hide oily skin -keep shine away -not needing to touch up on face powder/blot oil constantly -fill/hide pores that foundation fails to do -I want a matified/airbrushed look to last for as long as possible thanks to the product I'm wearing (I heard some of them can somehow absorb the oil throughout the day?) The foundation I use is: Clinique pore refining solutions. -Not looking to change this product. -Works great but I want it to improve. -(flakyness shows, -**oilyness doesn't stay hidden**, -redness from scarring shows, -pores get hidden on the nose but **don't get filled/hidden as well on forehead**) **=thing I want solved the most The moisturizer I use is: Clinque dramatically different moisturizing gel for combination skin. -It leaves my skin oily and doesn't seem to absorb well. -Flaky parts take forever to recover. -(I use only half a pump since the full pump is too much.) I'm totally lost. Too many products here and I don't know anything! Please help, thank you. These are the ones that caught my interest but idk if they mesh well or do what I want it to do (absorb oil throughout day, refine/hide pores with my foundation) PRIMER: -SMASHBOX photo finish foundation primer -isn't vs oily skin specific MOISTURIZER: -SHISEIDO pureness matifying moisturizer oil-free -BOSCIA revitalizing hydration gel -isn't vs oil i think
I have super oily skin and I've tried the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation and it looked terrible a couple hours after wear, as well as the Smashbox Liquid Halo. I feel like there is nothing out there that actually works. I was just wondering what you ladies use to control oil throughout the day? I heard the Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer was good at keeping your makeup put all day long, but I've never tried it. Can anyone tell me if thats true? Also what is the best foundation and concealer for oily skin to keep makeup stay put all day? Oh one more thing has anyone with oily skin tried the Josie Maran Argan Oil Light? Thank you so much for the help!
My 21st birthday is in two weeks and I've decided it's time to start taking better care of my skin. I have combination/oily skin and I'm prone to breakouts. I struggled with acne at the beginning of the year. I called it super-acne because it was terrible. The ONLY thing that helped was Clinique's Acne Solutions toner. I had been using the entire 3 step system for about a year and quit last December and soon after, my face broke out like crazy. It took 4 months of trial and error to figure out that the only thing that helped was the toner. I was trying to move away from such harsh chemicals to more organic formulas, but my skin did not like it at all. I'm about to be on winter break, so I want to try to switch to better products again while I have a few weeks to fine tune my skincare routine. Here's my skincare routine right now... Morning: Cetaphil Normal/Oily Gel Cleanser OR Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser (I switch it up) Clinique Acne Solutions Toner LUSH Enzymion or Imperialis (depending on how oily my skin feels) Nighttime: Philosophy Purity Makeup Remover Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser Clinique Acne Solutions Toner AcneFree Retinol Complex Josie Maran Argan Oil I exfoliate with LUSH Ocean Salt twice a week and use a sulfur mask for acne twice a week. My skin has been pretty clear for the past 6 months. I just get a few blemishes around the time of my period. I love the argan oil and the Boscia cleanser, but I want to try to switch to a more natural toner. Not sure if I should add an eye cream in there or some anti-aging products? I don't have any wrinkles yet, but I see a lot of girls my age having fine lines around their eyes and I want to avoid that at all costs. Any recommendations?
I want to add a mask to my skincare routine, but can't decide which one to get.........Tarte Amazonian Clay Double Detox Exfoliating Face Mask or Wei Golden Root Purifying Mud Mask. Has anyone tried these?? Or can you recommend one you use and love? I've got combo skin with occasional breakouts on chin and jawline. My main concern right now though is huge pores and blackheads on my chin.
I have used both crème concealers, liquid concealers. I have lines under my eyes which are very obvious...there not even fine lines. And even worse terribly dark circles. I don't know what to do so that the concealer doesn't go into the lines under my eyes and I have to keep retouching and tugging so it doesn't settle. Can you guys please give me some recommendations =)
In my quest to find something to control my oily skin, I've realized that no one product will ever do it. So I use a few products: Philosophy Total Matteness mask and Bliss Toner Pads are my two go-to products before I put on makeup. My foundation is Estee Lauder Double Wear and I use the Urban Decay De-slick Oil Control spray. And I Urban Decay Razor Sharp powder. My skin is so oily, that I jokingly say I can lube a car engine with the amount of oil my skin produces. Ha! What do you all use?
Heyy everyone I'm looking for a good sunscreen for my combination skin. I wasn't someone who wears sunscreen because I was pale, sun exposure didn't make me red, and I had really good skin.. so I didn't care.. but I started breaking out, becoming greasy in the T zone starting 2 years ago... I'm also in either Korea or California in the summer where it is super humid and hot.. SO a sunscreen can't be making me oily, or breaking down my makeup.. I've used the lancome oil free before, but hated it.. it made me look dry while making me oily and breaking down my makeup... also took forever for it to absorb that it took forever for me put on makeup in the morning... any suggestions? I'm looking at clarins, neutrogena, josie maran, and shiseido... I'm also very prone to breakouts.. please help
I'm 20 years old and I use Dickinson's pore-perfecting toner, then cocoa butter fade cream, and Clinique's pore perfecting serum. What do you apply to your face before bedtime to keep your skin beautiful?
Hello, I was curious if there is a difference in skincare routine at different times. For my daytime, I wash my face with soup, apply toner, and put on moisturizer/cream that prevents my face from getting too oily. Should I use the same routine as in the daytime? If the skincare routine should be different slightly, can you recommend me some products? Thank you.
I've heard so many great reviews but I've also heard just as many bad reviews. I have a terrible oily t-zone and the rest of my face is fairly normal. I'm also concern on how hygienic is it. I heard you have to change the brush heads every few months but that also bothers me a little, aside from the initial price of the actual machine and brush heads.
I'm in desperate need for a primer for my overly oily nose! The rest of my skin is very normal but my nose produces enough oil for the rest of my face. I don't know what to do anymore. The one product I was using that was working the best started to clog my pores. If anyone else has a greasy nose like mine and has any suggestions I am all ears!!
Hi, I have very oily skin. I currently use clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel (I've tried the murad oil control mattifier, Mac oil control lotion) Sephora 'tricks of the trade' anti shine primer Bare essentials bare mineral Matte foundation (I've tried Mac studio fix fluid spf 15) and the tarte smooth operator micronized clay finishing powder Even though these products are oil free and should help my skin stay matte. THEY DO NOT HELP AT ALL I wanted to ask you guys what you use if you have oily skin. I am open to suggestions to moisturizer, primer, foundation and if needed finishing power. I am also open to the idea of liquid foundation. I was just under the impression that liquid foundation will cause your skin to become more oily Please help! Its summer and my face is soo oily I can fry samosas on it!!
SO I have origins spot treatment and I also have Neutrogena Oil Free sensitive skin moisturizer. SO I wash my face then dry, question is do I put my moisturizer on first then spot treatment, or spot treatment then try to go around with moisturizer? I have constant moderate acne around my chin, so that is where the spot treatment goes. Also side note I am thinking of purchasing Fresh Umbrian clay bar, because I am sick and tired of breaking about constantly, im 25 and the acne is wearing me down. So any feedback on the Umbrian?
I have a few questions about what products I should use as my current facial products are coming to an end. First, I have to tell you about my skin. I have combination/oily skin, mostly oily around my forehead, nose, and cheeks. I have visible pores on my nose (currently battling against blackheads and whiteheads). I'm currently using SkinFood: Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore collection. I love how it leaves my skin really smooth; however, my face still gets a little oily than I would like it to be. I tried other products before, which I really hate because it leaves my face really sticky afterwards and it doesn't help to control my oiliness as well as minimize my pores. I am planning to purchase the Clarisonic Mia2 Deep Pore Detoxifying Solution Collection because I heard so much good reviews about it. I am wondering about purchasing the CLINIQUE Great Skin, Great Deal - Combination Oily to Oily Skins. I also looked at Murad Acne Complex kit. I am not sure which product line is better for me. I do not have acne though. I believe I read better reviews from Clinique. I was wondering which product line is better at controlling my oiliness. I do not like my face to be shiny and oily by mid-day as well as sticky from the skincare product. Thank you. P.S. I was thinking about combining the Clinique 3-Step kit with the MURAD Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 PA++. I am not sure if this is a good combination in controlling my excess oils and prevent shine.
Hi, I live in a Caribbean Island named Trinidad and Tobago. Its always hot and humid here and I recently started wearing foundation but I seem to sweat it out or my oily skin shines through 120% of the time leaving me looking shiny, greasy and tired. =( Can you please please recommend the best face primer and eye primer and foundation for my situation? I am desperate as I am also an aspiring MUA and I really want to make sure my customer's faces remain flawless for long periods of time. Thank you for taking the time to assist. Regards, Keshia Nikita
I am 22 years old and I have such oily skin. Two minutes after I apply my makup, my skin is extremely oily! Lately it has gotten worse and it makes my makeup look like I didn't blend it I am a full time student and I don't have a lot of money to test any more products out. In pictures it looks like my face is covered in sweat. Please help!
I have extremely oily and acne prone skin and I want to try something for oily skin from Murad (I already love/use most of their products) but I am confused. What is the difference between the murad oil-control mattifier the skin perfecting lotion-blemish prone/ oily skin?
