I need some help finding a primer for my oily skin and large pores! Ive tried many, including becca ever matte but none seem to work well and i still notice my makeup sliding off around noon or even earlier. I've struggled with bad skin for awhile and I really want a primer that keeps my makeup intact and my oil at bay. Thanks
I need some help with my super oily skin! By noon it's so bad that I am constantly wiping it away. I'm 30 and I had hoped that it would go away by now, but it seems to be getting worse. So far everything I have tried hasn't made a difference and I'm starting to feel desperate. I'm embarassed whenever I have an afternoon meeting because of it... to make things worse, a lady in one of my afternoon meetings actually pointed it out to me.
I'm sorry that this post is SO LONG, but I tried to include as much information as I could! I'm just finishing up the last of my daily routine products, and I'm on the look out for new skincare products since what I've been using hasn't been working that well. I've looked around the skincare boards and done some research, so while I have some ideas about what products I might look into I would appreciate hearing back from some of you since you seem to have really great ideas and suggestions! So thank you in advance. My skin: Oily - by afternoon, I notice my skin is a bit oily (it can feel a bit "slick" in some places) but I use products to try and combat this. T-zone area (less on my chin) and sometimes along my cheekbones. Pores around my nose/centre of forehead - I wouldn't say my pores are large, but they are noticeable to me in these two areas. I tend to have more blackheads on my nose and chin, maybe a few on my forehead. Very fair and freckled - so my skin isn't very "even" looking, and can be a bit blotchy. Dry patches - I notice that if I don't use a good moisturizer, I am prone to dry patches once in a while (especially in winter). My nose can get flaky, along with my forehead and sometimes my chin. My guess is that the types of acne/oily skin products I've been using might be causing this. Young skin - I'm in my 20s so aging skin isn't a problem yet. I have some good genes on my side, and I try to take care of my skin so I think that's helping. I'd like to prevent this, but it really isn't an issue or concern. I have a couple small scars (mostly faded but still there). Current routine: I've been using my Clarisonic regularly for a couple years with sensitive brushes, and I have no complaints. It works really well for me, and has made a drastic difference in my skin. I use it nearly every day. First, I use the Dermalogica Precleanse. (I've used Dermalogica products before, and while they were decent they weren't amazing - a concern for me since they are pricey.) I follow that with The Body Shop's Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash and Toner. I'm really not happy with this line - it really doesn't seem to help with my blemishes/acne. For moisturizer, I've been using Clinique's Dramatically Different Gel. This is better than most moisturizers I've used, but it's still only okay. I've also been using the Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial which I think is too heavy for my skin. I have a sample of Dermadoctor Red Light Eye Lift I've been using. As an exfoliate, I started using Korres Pomegranate Scrub which I love (so far). I bought it recently and I've been happy with it. I've been using the Clinique Spot Treatment Gel on pimples (when I have any). It's a sample size, thankfully, because I'm really not a fan! It's far too drying for my skin and doesn't seem to clear anything up. For masks, I've been trying out some new ones lately. I've never found anything I love enough to stick with long-term. I used GlamGlow's Supermud for a few months (about 4-5) and I liked it - but again, not AMAZING considering the price. I don't really use any peels or serums. I've tried some, but they have been small samples so I couldn't really see any significant difference. New products? Korres Pomegranate/Yoghurt and Milk products? I've been eyeing some of these. Caudalie - I've been eyeing the Favourites Kit (to try the cleansing water, sorbet, and Beauty Elixir. I've really been eyeing that elixir.) Or the Deep Cleansing Power Trio? Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser or Clear Complexion or Purifying? Algenist Hydrating Essence Toner Murad Toner? Philosophy Oxygen Peel? I'm planning on buying the Origins Charcoal Mask - it sounds like it would work well for me. Acne Peter Roth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel Murad Acne Clearing Kit - not sure whether this would be a good idea, because I'd rather focus on giving my skin what it needs to keep it healthy and happy which will hopefully help combat acne. I don't think my acne is severe enough to warrant acne products, to be honest. Peter Roth Sulfur Masque Acne Treatment Kate Somerville EradiKate Treatment
I hope no one gets offended by the title of my post but I've looked and can't find a question like mine. Is it possible that I've made my T-zone oily by over moisturizing my skin? I thought I had these dry spots in various places and have only realized that it's not dry, but these tiny blond hairs in the places I thought were dry. Yes, I only figured this out a few day ago and now my T-zone is super oily. Maybe it was oily to start but I've been moisturizing heavily, using oils, serums, creams, etc. If it was me who made my skin oily, can I reverse it or is this the way its going to be and I'll learn to deal with it but I had to ask cause I'm super curious if this can happen. Then again, maybe this is something that happens as we age and I had no hand in it. What do you beauties think?
I had never ventured outside of Mac, both Studio Fix and Pro Longwear were my go-to foundations. But they started to fade away, especially around my nose area. I went to Sephora cause I thought it was time for a change. I asked the associate who helped me what would be good for oily skin and for medium-full coverage and she introduced the Kat Von-D Lock It foundation. When she tested it on me, it felt light and the coverage was amazing. So i bought it and the primer she had used on me (MUFE Microperfecting). For the first couple of days i did not like how it was looking on me but i figured i needed to give it some time. I tried applying it different ways but nothing seemed to work and i looked even more oily than before. Even more, my face started to look older and the makeup was cracking. It also transferred, alot. So here i am, looking once again...help!
Hi all, I'm Looking for a night cream that will work with my mildly oily skin and somewhat visible pores. It has to be under the $65 price range, unless its in a value set. I'm 28, btw, if that helps/ makes a difference. Thanks in advance ladies and gents!
I found out this weekend that my sister uses regular body lotion for her face and St Ives scrub and some other face scrub everyday. She has extremely oily skin and I suspect all these products make her face even oilier. Apparently she had a bad experience with a Lancome face moisturizer because it made her break out so she doesnt feel any mid to high end products will be any good since Lancome didnt work out for her. With that said, can anyone suggest drugstore (she doesnt want to spend a ton of money right off the bat) moisturizer? Any suggestions for a cleanser for oily skin that will thoroughly clean her face without containing exfoliating scrubs? She feels that any face wash without the exfoliating scrubs dont clean her face very well. Thanks for your help!
Hey all, I need recommendations on a skincare routine. I have oily skin, and there has been times that I breakout. I'm not sure if it's because I don't cleanse my skin well, or if it's just the foundation that I use. So far I wash my face every morning and night. I use Philosophy to take off my makeup first, then I use the clarisonic gel cleanser with the clarisonic machine which I love. Is there something I'm missing ? How do you care for your oily skin ?
My T-zone is VERYYYYY oily... my cheeks also get shiny because of the large pores ( I do use a face primer for my face because of the oil and the pores. What are some of the best foundations for SUPER oily skin??
I've been looking for a new skin care routine because what I am using now is not working at all. I've tried products Kate Somerville, Clinique, Boscia, Philosophy, Fresh, Amorepacific, Dr. Jart+, NARS, NUDE, Origins, Shiseido and nothing has worked. I've also tried First Aid Beauty but I don't feel like my skin gets a good clean. I have Oily, Acne Prone skin. My skin breaks out easily to certain products. Does any one have any recommendations? I've been looking at the brand Tria but I know they only have a cleanser and a serum so i'm gonna need a moisturizer. Please help me.
I've been using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel for almost a year now getting bored of it. I feel like it's not giving me enough moisture. Is there anything similar or better to this? And under $35 would be great oh and I have oily skin
And would like some input on how to use them, in what order, and frequency. I have sensitive, acne prone, oily skin. Though lately I have had very minimal breakouts and it seems to be more balanced (yay). I can get dry patches if I'm not careful. Anyway, I got the PTR mask sample kit and it contains the Cucumber mask, the Rose mask, and a Pumpkin enzyme mask. I also got samples of Glamglow and Fresh perfecting mask with the recent promo. Anyone have any input on how I should use them because right now I want to use them all lol.
Hey ladies, i am new to sephora. I need some help! i have had bad acne for the past two years! i have tried everything, my face is also very oily! Anyone have any suggestions on what skin and make up products to use? Thanks !
My skin is generally normal/combination, and I get more oily in the summer and more dry in the winter. I've just ran out of my winter moisturizer - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream - LOVE this stuff but it's just too heavy for me right now. Lately I wake up with quite an oily face. So I'd like to know - what is everyone's favorite summer night cream/moisturizer? Some of the one's I've been reading reviews for are the Korres Pomegranate Cream-Gel, Boscia Oil Free Moisturizer, and Origins Night-a-Mins. I've also used Clinique Dram. Diff. Gel and I liked it but considering other options too. Any thoughts/recs are appreciated!!! : )
I am looking for a good face wash and moisturizer for my seriously oily skin. I also have sensitive skin so I can't really use any products with scents. I have tried so many things I am not even sure what have tried and not tried, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?
an endless list of lotions and potions?? still struggle with oily skin with breakouts. The summer makes me miserable with added heat! For the last few months Ive only used cleanser. An I'm so lost oils are good? only use gel cleanser? moisturize? most things work awhile then quit or dry out my skin. Please Help!
Im looking for something that is mattifying that will keep me shine and oil free during the hot summer months! I have extremely oily skin. Something with nice coverage.. either a BB or a tinted moisturizer.
PLEASE, if you know how to treat OILY SKIN with OILS, help me! I'm so desperate for any advice, product suggestions, methods...anything that may help. If you have used Oil to Combat Oil, please share how you did it & how long it takes skin to figure out I'm not starving it anymore! It's natural to want to avoid or strip areas of our skin that's oily. Like my NOSE, it's gotten super oily since menopause that I can't get myself to even apply serum much less moisturizer. I know that when you deplete skin of oils, it kicks up the production. I saw it happen to my son before we took him to a dermatologist.
I've been using Atralin/Tazorac for about 6 months now to deal with some hormonal acne issues. My skin has pretty much returned to normal, with the occasional pimple here and there, but nothing compared to the flare up I had a while ago which prompted the use of these retinoids. I find that they make my already shiny face even worse, especially during the summer. I would like to transition away from these strong retinoids and maybe begin using a moisturizer and/or serum at night that contains some type of retinol to ensure that my skin remains youthful and (hopefully) acne free, while reducing some of the oiliness that medication tends to contribute to. My current skincare routine involves washing twice a day with a gentle cleanser (Neutrogena Cream Cleanser), toning with Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel to balance the pH, Origins Zero Oil moisturizer (for day time), and using the Clarisonic at night along with the retinoid and a tiny amount of FAB Ultra Repair Cream to combat any flakiness. Any suggestions as to how I can revamp this routine?
I have combination dry-oily mature skin. I need suggestions for a T-Zone products that works really well with my very oily nose. My nose is so oily on some days that by the time I finish my foundation, I can already see oil break through on my nose. Suggestions for a T-zone primer & a very sheer color or translucent oil control powder.
I'm looking for a good moisturizer for combination-oily skin to wear underneath liquid foundation. I've tried Clinque hydration gel and it makes my foundation and powder foundation look cakey. I've tried Korres yogurt and it makes my foundation peel.
Nowadays, it seems like the only place I ever break out is my forehead. And they are small, under the skin pimples. They're not very visible, but I can feel them when I touch my face. I've tried salicylic acid treatments, tea tree oil, and spot treatments. But nothing seems to keep them at bay. Once I get rid of one, another pops up. Any help is greatly appreciated.
