I have oily skin, but I am fond of the dewy glowing look! Not the oily shining look! I want to know exactly how I can create this look? I know I need to do strong oil control at skin care and base, so that I can use a dewy/glowy foundation. But I see on Korean girls, even before makeup their skin is SUPER glowing. How can I get that??? I was trying to attach a photo but somehow I can't I'll figure how to attach a photo. Pls advise me how oily skin can get glowing dewy skin without the oily shine!!!! thank you!!!!
Anyone have/used the PETER THOMAS ROTH 21st birthday set. I'm up in the air to use it. Want to get some feedback. I have oily acne prone skin - medium tan. Please leave a comment if you have it!!! thanks !!
I am 45 years old and have fought oily skin, hormonal breakouts and large pores all my life. In the last few years I have tried OH and Clinque 3 step for oily skin but neither has helped me, I have been using a Mia for about 2 months and it has helped some but not as much as I had hoped. Does anyone have any other suggestions of products to use. So here is my routine so no confusion.. Mia 1 x daily AM Clinque 3 step cleanser, toner and moisterizing gel Hourglass primer Clinque Mat foundation or KVD foundation or BMinerals Still have to blot about two hours after makeup. Ugggh frustrating to say the least. Please help!
So i wear Lancome's dual finish foundation powder in matte honey III and the color is literally perfect, but... i really wanted to try the makeup forever duo mat powder because ive heard its long wearing and great for oily skin! What color should i be wearing by the color IQ if the lancome powder matches perfectly? Anyone have and great long wearing powder foundations as well? Thanks guys; Im also a guy so the more natural the better too!
I have oily skin and I've used so many products for my face such as the garnier bb cream, benefit oxygen wow foundation, laura mercier tinted moustrizer, mac mineral moisture and maybelline dream mousse. So far, I liked the tinted moisturizer the best, but I want to try something new. I've never tried a powder, but I've heard the tarte loose powder is good. Is anyone willing to give me other examples, preferably a foundation, tinted moisturzer, bb or cc cream that is oil free, very natural and not too expensive?
Hello friends! I am always curious to know what people's skincare regimes are; how can a skincare fanatic not want to see what other people are using! My skin is very strange, it is combination (very) oily, dehydrated, and acne prone along with reactive to various products. Without further ado, here is my current skincare routine! Morning: Cleanse - Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Tone - FAB Facial Radiance Pads Hydratation Tone - 100% Pure Rose Water Serum - Peter Thomas Roth Viz 1000 Hydrating Serum Moisturize - Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Eye Cream - Fresh Lotus Eye Gel Night: Cleanse - Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Tone - FAB Facial Radiance Pads Hydratation Tone - 100% Pure Rose Water Treat - Kielhs Midnight Recovery Concentrate ** My nose is very breakout prone, so I do not apply any product to it during the day and use a prescription topical acne medication on it every night to stop the clogged pores ** Lips - Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm Specific Days SUNDAY Shave Exfoliate - Clinique Face Scrub (Mens line) TUESDAY Glamglow Supermud Mask WEDNESDAY Shave SATURDAY Glamglow Powermud Mask And there you have it! My wonderful, yet crazy, skincare regime! I am EXTREMELY interested in seeing what your skincare regime is as I am new to the Advice Talks! I definitely look forward to seeing the different combinations of products and also looking to see what other products I could potentially use! I love Skincare! It's the best! Michael, xo
What's the best moisturizer for oily acne prone skin? I'm 23 and still get breakouts here and there. I usually wear Olay SPF 15 moisturizer under all my foundations and the all seem to be oxidizing on my face after a few hours.. Not sure if it's the moisturizer causing this or the foundation.. Currently, I'm trying out UD Naked skin and it seems to be breaking me out. I have used Hourglass Immaculate but I found it a little dry. Possibly looking into Estee Lauder Double Wear Light.. Not a makeup guru but if anyone has suggestions on foundations or moisturizer that would really help me.
My skin is extremely oily.. I have been wearing NARS SHeer glow foundation & I realized it was for dry skin.. (I was in a rush when I ordered) my face is FAR from dry & it's been breaking out horribly since wearing the sheer glow.i don't know a lot about foundations, I used Clinique powder only for years.. I'm 20. I really need some advice on the best foundation (long wearing) and concealer. Also facial wash suggestions would be great too!! Thanks so much!! -sincerely, someone who knows nothing about makeup!!
Is it true that when you have oily skin, you should use products that are meant for dry to normal skin? I've heard this from someone and they said that you should use products meant for dry to normal skin when you have oily skin because the skin is producing oil because it needs hydration and its not getting it.
I am looking for a moisturizer for oily and acne prone skin. I live in NYC and the combination of dirty city, hot sweaty summer, and acne/oily prone skin is terrible! What is a good moisturizer to use? I would like one with SPF if possible.

I'd like to give my sister this little trial kit. She has really oily skin and I read in some past posts about Philosophy Purity cleanser that the gel is better for oily skin. Would the cream cleanser be ineffective?
Hi, I was wanting a powder that will keep my super oily skin matte and shine-free. I've been reading the reviews and i'm not sure whether the BareMinerals Matte Foundation Broad Spectrum or the Stay Matte Sheer pressed powder would work better.
I need some help finding a primer for my oily skin and large pores! Ive tried many, including becca ever matte but none seem to work well and i still notice my makeup sliding off around noon or even earlier. I've struggled with bad skin for awhile and I really want a primer that keeps my makeup intact and my oil at bay. Thanks
I need some help with my super oily skin! By noon it's so bad that I am constantly wiping it away. I'm 30 and I had hoped that it would go away by now, but it seems to be getting worse. So far everything I have tried hasn't made a difference and I'm starting to feel desperate. I'm embarassed whenever I have an afternoon meeting because of it... to make things worse, a lady in one of my afternoon meetings actually pointed it out to me.
I'm sorry that this post is SO LONG, but I tried to include as much information as I could! I'm just finishing up the last of my daily routine products, and I'm on the look out for new skincare products since what I've been using hasn't been working that well. I've looked around the skincare boards and done some research, so while I have some ideas about what products I might look into I would appreciate hearing back from some of you since you seem to have really great ideas and suggestions! So thank you in advance. My skin: Oily - by afternoon, I notice my skin is a bit oily (it can feel a bit "slick" in some places) but I use products to try and combat this. T-zone area (less on my chin) and sometimes along my cheekbones. Pores around my nose/centre of forehead - I wouldn't say my pores are large, but they are noticeable to me in these two areas. I tend to have more blackheads on my nose and chin, maybe a few on my forehead. Very fair and freckled - so my skin isn't very "even" looking, and can be a bit blotchy. Dry patches - I notice that if I don't use a good moisturizer, I am prone to dry patches once in a while (especially in winter). My nose can get flaky, along with my forehead and sometimes my chin. My guess is that the types of acne/oily skin products I've been using might be causing this. Young skin - I'm in my 20s so aging skin isn't a problem yet. I have some good genes on my side, and I try to take care of my skin so I think that's helping. I'd like to prevent this, but it really isn't an issue or concern. I have a couple small scars (mostly faded but still there). Current routine: I've been using my Clarisonic regularly for a couple years with sensitive brushes, and I have no complaints. It works really well for me, and has made a drastic difference in my skin. I use it nearly every day. First, I use the Dermalogica Precleanse. (I've used Dermalogica products before, and while they were decent they weren't amazing - a concern for me since they are pricey.) I follow that with The Body Shop's Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash and Toner. I'm really not happy with this line - it really doesn't seem to help with my blemishes/acne. For moisturizer, I've been using Clinique's Dramatically Different Gel. This is better than most moisturizers I've used, but it's still only okay. I've also been using the Korres Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial which I think is too heavy for my skin. I have a sample of Dermadoctor Red Light Eye Lift I've been using. As an exfoliate, I started using Korres Pomegranate Scrub which I love (so far). I bought it recently and I've been happy with it. I've been using the Clinique Spot Treatment Gel on pimples (when I have any). It's a sample size, thankfully, because I'm really not a fan! It's far too drying for my skin and doesn't seem to clear anything up. For masks, I've been trying out some new ones lately. I've never found anything I love enough to stick with long-term. I used GlamGlow's Supermud for a few months (about 4-5) and I liked it - but again, not AMAZING considering the price. I don't really use any peels or serums. I've tried some, but they have been small samples so I couldn't really see any significant difference. New products? Korres Pomegranate/Yoghurt and Milk products? I've been eyeing some of these. Caudalie - I've been eyeing the Favourites Kit (to try the cleansing water, sorbet, and Beauty Elixir. I've really been eyeing that elixir.) Or the Deep Cleansing Power Trio? Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser or Clear Complexion or Purifying? Algenist Hydrating Essence Toner Murad Toner? Philosophy Oxygen Peel? I'm planning on buying the Origins Charcoal Mask - it sounds like it would work well for me. Acne Peter Roth AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel Murad Acne Clearing Kit - not sure whether this would be a good idea, because I'd rather focus on giving my skin what it needs to keep it healthy and happy which will hopefully help combat acne. I don't think my acne is severe enough to warrant acne products, to be honest. Peter Roth Sulfur Masque Acne Treatment Kate Somerville EradiKate Treatment
I hope no one gets offended by the title of my post but I've looked and can't find a question like mine. Is it possible that I've made my T-zone oily by over moisturizing my skin? I thought I had these dry spots in various places and have only realized that it's not dry, but these tiny blond hairs in the places I thought were dry. Yes, I only figured this out a few day ago and now my T-zone is super oily. Maybe it was oily to start but I've been moisturizing heavily, using oils, serums, creams, etc. If it was me who made my skin oily, can I reverse it or is this the way its going to be and I'll learn to deal with it but I had to ask cause I'm super curious if this can happen. Then again, maybe this is something that happens as we age and I had no hand in it. What do you beauties think?
I had never ventured outside of Mac, both Studio Fix and Pro Longwear were my go-to foundations. But they started to fade away, especially around my nose area. I went to Sephora cause I thought it was time for a change. I asked the associate who helped me what would be good for oily skin and for medium-full coverage and she introduced the Kat Von-D Lock It foundation. When she tested it on me, it felt light and the coverage was amazing. So i bought it and the primer she had used on me (MUFE Microperfecting). For the first couple of days i did not like how it was looking on me but i figured i needed to give it some time. I tried applying it different ways but nothing seemed to work and i looked even more oily than before. Even more, my face started to look older and the makeup was cracking. It also transferred, alot. So here i am, looking once again...help!
Hi all, I'm Looking for a night cream that will work with my mildly oily skin and somewhat visible pores. It has to be under the $65 price range, unless its in a value set. I'm 28, btw, if that helps/ makes a difference. Thanks in advance ladies and gents!
I found out this weekend that my sister uses regular body lotion for her face and St Ives scrub and some other face scrub everyday. She has extremely oily skin and I suspect all these products make her face even oilier. Apparently she had a bad experience with a Lancome face moisturizer because it made her break out so she doesnt feel any mid to high end products will be any good since Lancome didnt work out for her. With that said, can anyone suggest drugstore (she doesnt want to spend a ton of money right off the bat) moisturizer? Any suggestions for a cleanser for oily skin that will thoroughly clean her face without containing exfoliating scrubs? She feels that any face wash without the exfoliating scrubs dont clean her face very well. Thanks for your help!
Hey all, I need recommendations on a skincare routine. I have oily skin, and there has been times that I breakout. I'm not sure if it's because I don't cleanse my skin well, or if it's just the foundation that I use. So far I wash my face every morning and night. I use Philosophy to take off my makeup first, then I use the clarisonic gel cleanser with the clarisonic machine which I love. Is there something I'm missing ? How do you care for your oily skin ?
