OILY AND AGING SKIN
Need help. Am over 40 and only have been able to keep my skin clear by using Proactive repair lotion twice daily. Have cleansed with Purity or currently Boscia Black Gel cleanser. My concern is that Proactive is not going to help with wrinkles aging etc. I have tried other treatments (Murad, PTR AHA/BHA ) but they are too much to put on and then apply makeup (getting makeup to stay on for a few hours is a whole other problem). Any recommendations?

Most effective anti-agers are usually serums. Serums are light and meant to go on before moisturizer. It's most effective when you use them at night, this way they also do not interfer with your make up. Origins, Ole Henriksen and Kate Summerville makes great anti-aging serums you can check out (or search on sephora). Just make sure to check the ingredients, retinol and AHA/BHA are both anti-aging ingredients, but when used in the same routine/applied to the face at same time, their anti-aging benefits cancels each other out since they both work differently.
As for anti-agers in the morning. Maybe list out your morning routine and see if you can use some multi-tasking products to streamline the routine. For example, if you use moisturizer and primer, try replacing both with Hourglass No. 28 Primer which hydrates with anti-aging benefit and primes the skin. There are also BB cream (cross between foundation and tinted moisturizer) with SPF, hydration and anti-aging benefits.

[ Edited ]This is good to know. I have tried everything from Burts Bees but way to oily. I’ve tried every product too at whole foods almost. I do the at home facial with the Riiviva Microdermabrasion tool for my acne scarring and it’s terrific.
Do you have any recommendations as to what avenue to take for moisturizing with out all the oily residue that happens when I use oils. Thanks

I see alot of questions about oliy skin and aging, It's possible to get too much on your face and that's going to make it oiler. There are alot of oil free moisturizers that you can you to help balance out your skin, but in order to get results putting in time and being faithful to your skin care routine is important. I have been thru every oil skin routine there is and I found out that trying so hard not to make my skin oily only made it worse. Some times simplicity is best.

I'm 45 years old with very oily skin. I've looked for many years for a product that helps not only with my oily skin, but now with my age, fine lines. Murad Oil-Control Mattifier works great on my oily skin, but Im not sure if its meant to help with fine lines. Recently I went to a Sephora store with my concerns and the sales ladle told me to try Sarah McNamare Miracle Skin Transformer, spf 20. I have to say, I'm very pleased with the results. The texture is wonderful and it has a little color to it if I choose to not wear my makeup. I use Miracle Skin like a mattifier. My makeup goes on smooth and with "Urban Decay" Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray, the results are amazing.
