things kids will never understand

i was in a car with a friend of mine and our kids (boys, 10, 9 & 6) when the 6 year old said why do you say roll up the window?  You mean push up the window!  my 10 year then explained that "back in the old days" people actually had to roll the window up themselves!

this got me thinking...what are some things that you have done/said/seen that these poor children will never understand?

It's funny, we were just talking about how the electronics department use to have records, 8track tapes, cassettes, film, VHS tapes.

i get a kick out of a new show called The Goldbergs. It is set in the 80's, and is a total nostalgia fest.

Mavis Beacon - that's how I learned to type. Loved the game with the letters & numbers hitting the windshield like bugs.

Pac Man, Mrs PAC Man, Donkey King, oh how I loved you.

There is an oregon settler app .. I played it for over a year until my kindle freaked and I lost all my progress which is device specific, so I not longer play it, but it's fun and Wii has an Oregon Trail game but I have yet to get my hands on it!

I just got a new suv this month, trading in my old Carola with wind up windows. The guys at the dealership were fascinated with my old car. They hadn't seen manual windows in years, apparently.

Ah!  handwriting papers for school is a good one!  I remember computers were just starting to be more common to have at home when I was in elementary school and I was one of the last kids to still have to hand write school reports lol.
