I just wanted to introduce everyone to the wonderful world of Shopkicking! Sephora recently joined the group and now I'm earning kicks much more intently! I redeemed my first redemption reward from Sephora gift cards.
Trust me that it's soo easy, all you do is earn kicks for everyday shopping. Many retailers give walk in kicks. Just walk in and open the app and you get the kicks!
Give it a try. My son and I have turned it into a game it's so fun!
In fact, I just redeemed my first reward with Sephora gift cards for the GlamGlow 3 pc set online! I still have more Sephora gift cards and saving them for my next store trip. Hopefully, I'll have an additional 5 more!
If you have questions, please ask, as we should be able to reward ourselves for the products we've come to love, especially Sephora itself!
I just saw Frozen and it was great! I wish Sephora would sell palettes for Elsa and Anna! Elsa's song "Let it go" was probably the best song of the movie along with her building her awesome ice castle. I found the whole clip with the animation on Youtube and I keep replaying it. Also if you go to see it there's a clip after the credits of Marshmallow. The next Disney Princess movie looks like it will be Moana a Polynesian but it won't be out until 2018. The main character will be Moana Waialiki, a sea voyaging enthusiast, and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her family needs her help, she sets off on an epic journey. The film will also include demi-gods and spirits taken from real mythology They did release a picture of concept art and I read it will be computer generated like Frozen and Tangled.
As 2013 comes to a close, I'm looking at the 20 pounds I've gained since moving to the big city, and I'm not happy about it. Since I'm also getting my tonsils out on Monday, and my darling boyfriend is giving me a juicer for Christmas, I need some recipes! Are there any you love/swear by? One of the clients at the salon I work at mentioned getting your tonsils out can be a decent way to lose weight, mostly because you can't eat anything! (I'm not getting the surgery for weight loss, I had antibiotic resistant strep complete with abscesses so they HAVE to come out.) Also, any suggestions for a 2 week couch surfing adventure?
I have no problem speaking my mind in public or to strangers, but for the life of me cannot bring myself to tell someone they have bad breath or are wearing too much perfume. Would you tell someone that they are wearing too much perfume or cologne? A friend, family member, coworker or stranger? Have you done it and what was their reaction?
Howdy ladies! After all the good deals this yr I've completely exhausted my spending and any reason to buy anything. I will be on a no buy until mid-Jan (if Jan really is skincare month then that means I've still got 15 days after that for whatever promo, no excuse!) My Christmas/New Year resolution is to spend just enough to qualify for VIB for the rest of the year , and I'm going to try fund most of it through Swagbucks/Bing Rewards/Ebates (PM me if you want to know more about those sites). With that said, this is a no buy thread for the first 30 days, a palate cleanser if you will, for next year. Anyone/everyone is welcome to join me. This is not meant to bash any particular products, but if you post then I'll give you reasons why you should delay the purchase, consider the alternative, or why you don't need it. I will keep all my disabling to this thread, so please, ladies, let's not turn this into an enable thread . =P Now then, will I succumb to exciting advertisements and fancy packaging? or will I hold onto my will power and succeed in actually saving some money?
It may be a little bit early but I am already thinking about my resolutions for the New Year. Wondering if others are doing the same? Here are a few of my top resolutions: In 2013 I obtained a lot of makeup and learned application. For 2014, I want to work out and eat better so my insides are as beautiful as I try to make my face and hair. I am going to work a bit more on staying on budget. I can get lured in pretty quickly by sales and limited edition items. That will still be fine in 2014 but I will have an amount I have per month I can do that with. I want to "pay it forward" more, and just practice more random acts of kindness. I am surrounded by wonderful people in my life and I love my friends here on BT - I feel very lucky and want to share, even in small ways, with others. Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday season!!
5 years ago, if I went anywhere near my friends with makeup on, they would all gather around and ask which son-of-a-gun beat me up. They weren't even joking. That kind of turned me off from makeup for awhile (T_T). After constantly practicing with makeup while out of sight from any sign of life, I started wearing makeup publicly again this year. As a result of that decision, my friends have come to the realization that I have an unhealthy obsession with makeup, and spend far too much money on it that I should. At the same time though, they began to trust me with their faces, and come to me for reviews on most cosmetics related things. When we go out shopping together, and if we go to Sephora, I can pretty much point them out to any product they need and give them what most reviews say about it. Need your homecoming makeup done? I got you covered girl! Don't know what you're skin color is? No problem because I do! Are you naturally ugly? That's fine; beauty is buildable! ^the things Sephora does to you -_- I've been a BI for less than a year and I've already got almost 2 boxes filled with Sephora hauls. At one point in my life, I thought one eyeliner was all that was necessary in the world of makeup. Now I feel the need to have every shade of eyeliner out there. Welp, thanks Sephora, for turning me into a total makeup junkie. That's my story; did Sephora convert any of you?
Thought I would try my hand at questions this time. Here goes... 1. Do you celebrate Christmas or some other gift-giving holiday this time of year? 2. Have you purchased anything from Sephora to give as a gift? If so, what? 3. Share one good thing that's brightened your day today (it's OK to say nothing if you've had a particularly crappy day). 4. What's your favorite mascara? 5. What is your ideal career? 6. Do you have any siblings (half siblings count)? If so, do you get along with them? 7. Share one of your favorite holiday traditions (if you have any). Here are mine: 1. I celebrate Christmas. 2. Not so far... 3. A text conversation I just had with my mother in walkie talkie lingo, where we addressed each other as "[work name] slave." 4. Right now I'm digging Sephora's Full Action mascara but I can be swayed. 5. Recording artist (preferably with my band) 6. I have a sister that I mostly get along with, even though she's my polar opposite in almost every sense. 7. One of my favorite things to do is go for a walk with my entire family on Christmas night to a particular street where everyone owns a huge house and the Christmas lights/displays/décor is insane. One house is so completely covered in lights it's dizzying to look at. Ok, enough of me. Let's hear about you!
Since we all had so much fun doing wedding themes I’ve decided to take the liberty in creating a board.
If you’re married, what was your wedding theme?
If you’re engaged what are you planning on doing for your wedding theme?
And if you’re still looking for the perfect significant other to go with your dream wedding theme what is it?
For me, I’ve always wanted something kind of whimsical. I LOVE the idea of renting out an old theatre for a classic old Hollywood-esque themed wedding or doing a carnival themed event haha.
For the old theatre theme I’d probably want to hang movie posters up featuring my SO and I. We could have a red carpet (don’t think I’d wanna do the whole cheesy paparazzi thing) though.
Most people look at me like I’m a nut when I tell them about that, but when I say ‘think Water for Elephants’ they quickly catch my drift.
For a carnival wedding I’d want fun foods like sliders, a French fry bar (with different dipping sauces like aioli, chipotle, etc), cotton candy martinis. I’d also want to hang upside down parasols around or do oversized paper lanterns.
YAY! May I present, another SUPER heart party for the thousanders who have contributed SO much here and haven't had their heart parties yet! Here's a fashionably late party for all you wonderful ladies. Congradulations to Titian06 for 1000+ hearts! I definitely remember seeing your helpful advice around but didn't realize you are not on my friends list yet but I'm adding you here now/anyways. Cheers for the first 1000 hearts! Congradulations to CrayzeeRN for 2000+ hearts! And for always bringing a little sprinkle of cheerfulness to all the posts you make. =D Congradulations to Drrragon for 3000+ hearts! And for the random chats about nerdy stuff. Always good to see a chic nerd around, and *high five* for becoming a fellow new meteorites owner. =P Congradulations to Nebel for 3000+ hearts! And for always being so cool/collected amidst heated discussions. Whenever I see your name I have an image of yoga and "Ommmm..." in my head despite the "exasperated" dog avatar. Congradulations to Dannyc for 4000+ hearts! My fellow skincare addict who started THE first traveling Sephora box on BT and started my mini-lipstick obsession by passing me the mini Bite rouge lippie. =O Cheers to many more helpful/fun posts to come! () () (^.^) ~Happy holidays! (v v)o
Hello there, ladies and gents! Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask: "What's on your plate?" The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween! For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet. Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water. For lunch today, I had: -Brown rice -Steamed egg -Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper -Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens) Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have?
Off topic.. But I can't do my paper, my job keeps calling me with questions and distracting me like crazy (I took off to do this final today and it's getting nowhere...ugh) Show me your pretty rings, or your dream rings This one is my dream ring: ....Yeah, I want to marry that ring.
How long did it take you to get your first subscribers? And how do you promote your blog to attract new subscribers? I just started my blog a week ago and I know it will take a long time to develop a following, but I am just curious about anyone else's experiences regarding beauty blogging. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
I survived the insanely busy semester! I now have some time to log on! lol. How are you all? I have missed logging on to BT and doing nail art. It feels like it's been forever. Like I said, it has been a busy semester: reading 19 novels for my young adult literature class, plays in Shakespeare, many short stories for my fiction class, a variety of assignments for Teaching English in High School (including listening to four Jane Austen audiobooks), and reading and working on stuff for my online Grammar and Usage class. However, I am now officially a Senior, and I begin my Residency I program in the spring. I'm getting closer and closer to becoming a teacher. Other than all of the school stuff, the only other thing that's happened was being inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honor society. It's is good to be on break. However, I do have an online winter class which starts on Wednesday. I don't think it was be as hectic and crazy as the semester, though lol. I noticed many new usernames, so welcome to BT!! I hope you all have been enjoying the forum. So, how is everyone?
*** EDIT *** as mentioned in the comments below. Urban Decay has confirmed a Naked 3 palette that will be available soon So a few weeks ago, I read a post on Refinery29 about supposed "leaked" pictures of a rumored Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. Everyone quickly brushed it off as being a fake.... UNTIL... Urban Decay started taking posts down on Instagram and forums. Now there's a supposed December 8th release date. I said no more eyeshadow palettes, until I use my original Vice more. I don't use the basics palette, but love Naked 1 & 2. I'm sure I'll be purchasing this as soon as it comes out, if it does Thoughts?
Where you finally know what you want? (even if it's somewhat vague) I had one of those today. I know that I want: to go to school (i turned 26 in the fall but better late then never) a truck ( yeah, i'm 5"3 but whatever ) to fix my credit and get a credit card again to learn how to skate well to learn how to play the violin to stick to a healthy way of eating (so those extra pounds with come off) a new fashionable wardrobe (in a smaller size ^) and more make up What do you want? (It can be anything )
So I'd like to maintain a board for the Canadian customers. A place where we can share our events, promos, problems etc. I sometimes see deals and info for Canadians and rather then posting a new convo all the time maybe we can just share on this board. I think it would be easier to communicate with each other if we only had one board to follow. - I recently posted that Nail Polish Canada has free shipping on any orders for a limited time. - I forgot to mention that The Bay will be hosting Beauty Gala's this coming week. You have to buy a ticket but out of the 10$ 2 goes to charity and 8 towards your purchase. Some counters give free stuff when you buy the ticket from them. You get your make-up done too at that counter I'm going and very excited about it! EDITED: Anyone interested in getting Tonymoly products you can contact them via their Canadian Facebook page to place an order. 5$ shipping, free over purchases 50$. I think they have a store in Pacific Mall in Markham ON
So, I'm about to throw in the towel and accept the fact that there are only good men in television, books, and movies. Before I do, I want to throw it out there and see what you ladies have to say. Especially, if you have a good one. I'd love to read some inspirational stories of good husbands or boyfriends. I'm not feeling very optimistic right now and I know there have to be other ladies who feel the same.
After reading about the really lousy service offered by Benefit, I thought you might like to hear a good story. I ordered the LORAC Ravish Little Lace Palette when Hautelook had it on sale and was offering free shipping. It arrived today and two of the shadows were crushed. (I won't complain about Sephora boxes and the paper that they used. This was in a plastic mailing envelope with bubble wrap not around it tightly (and thus not around it when it arrived.) I called and the person I talked to immediately credited my credit card for the amount of the purchase (since it certainly cannot be replaced now) and gave me a $10 account credit for my trouble -- for an $8 item. In addition I don't need to worry about returning the item. (So, has anyone ever managed to reconstitute/salvage cracked shadow in a palette?) Of course I'd have rather had the item intact, but I am very glad to have the issue on a "no returns" item resolved so quickly.
I am a book lover! I would rather read than do anything else! So just outta curiosity, What are you ladies (and gentleman) reading? What's your favorite genre? I just finished Blood Vivicani by Beckett And I am starting a reread of The song of Ice and Fire (the game of thrones series) My favorite genre by far is horror and Fantasy.
'Tis the season of engagements. That, plus kellsmuneoka's thread about Ridiculous Prices and IllegallyBlonde's Engagement Rings thread, made me start wondering about wedding dresses. If you're married, what was your dress like? If not, what is your dream dress? How much are you willing to spend? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Although I'm engaged, I haven't even started looking for a dress because we won't start planning the wedding until my fiance moves up here...but that should be happening soon! My research has now begun by watching marathons of Say Yes to the Dress lol. Anyway, rant and rave away!
Wow. Who knew I would be so close before the ending of this year. I think it's mainly due to all the xmas gifts I bought from Sephora. I know everyone has been having mixed feelings about Rouge but I'm excited to reach this level because I enjoy shopping at Sephora so much. I think it's time for me to go out and buy the Naked 3! I'm just glad I didn't force myself to buy things I didn't need to finally reach Rouge. How did you feel when you hit Rouge? Or how far are you from it if you haven't hit it yet?
Hey Ladies, I just went into Nordstrom's yesterday and saw the most tacky and ugly pink sequined dress on the planet (in my opinion) and look at the price tag and it's $2,230. THAT'S RIDICULOUS IMO. I don't care who made it ,it was disgusting. Did anyone ever see a beauty product, clothing, etc where you had to hold back laughter and disgust because you could never imagine anyone buying it for that much if so, please tell me what it was and the price. xoxo, Kelly P.S I'm not trying to offend anyone who would buy something like that for that price, I just have a different style and budget.
I just realized that, after two weeks of finals, numerous doctor visits, running errands, preparing for Christmas, my 6 year old never sleeping past 2a.m. and all my regular "wifely duties" I'm thoroughly exhausted! I think after accomplishing all this, I should treat myself to a visit to Sephora (when I go to the "big city" to see yet another doctor!) hmmmm....what shall I treat myself with??? And more importantly...what shall I treat my husband with for putting up with me through this????
-RESOLVED- So I have this car that WAS in prestine condition.....until I got into a car crash that renders it undrivable because the hit bent everything in one of the wheel area. The price of repair is half what I paid for the car (despite the fact it's only 20-30% damaged), and it's undrivable so I don't think I can sell it as it is now. So now, I'm not sure what to do with it. Anyone have any experience with broken/crashed car? ps. Sorry to be really really off-topic, but I'm not sure where to ask. T.T
