So, it's time to go on an extended no buy. I have more than I could ever enjoy for quite awhile.  However, if you have gotten to know me a bit- it's going to be easier said than done!   So, this thread is hopefully going to be a support group for me- and anyone else who wants to join me in a summer of no buy.   The tricky thing is that I've got about 40% of my toner left and maybe 20% of my daytime moisturizer- and I see pan on my HG concealer.  I have to buy the concealer since it's a staple product (and I have used up all of the other concealers that match my skin). I'd like to use up some skincare before repurchasing my daytime moisturizer- but if my skin reacts, I'll revisit the issue.   When will the no buy end?  I'm not sure, but fall collections will be on counters, if not on the leaves!

Hey chicks,   So I did one of the funniest things today that I think I've ever done and still can't believe I did it. So me my husband and my little boy went out to eat today and it was a little busy in this place we went to, so we found our seats of course in the back of the restaurant because it was so busy any way we all went up to the salad bar and I guess on the way back I missed our row of seating by one and accidentally sat down with a woman I did not know, as I looked up this woman is just looking at me like "What are you doing"? So I politely said "Oh sorry wrong seat and got up and went to my table where my husband and little boy were wanting to know where I had been. Man that was so embarrassing but funny afterward. Has any one had one these moments? (please say yes)

Hey girlie girls,   I have always loved being on Beauty Talk as we all have but lately it seems like it is better than it ever has been. I actually bring my laundry over by my computer or carry my computer around to different parts of the house while I'm doing things so I don't miss something I think we all have made this a positive, wonderful place and I hope so much we keep it going, I know I mentioned it not too long ago but I just don't want things to change.

I got my prom dress in the mail today and I was so excited to try it on. It came from China and we ordered it last Tuesday which was really fast. So I did and it didn't fit. Oh my god. I ordered it in a US size 6 which is what I normally wear in dresses due to my bust being a size 6 and my waist and hips a size 4. It had the measurements also on the websites. It probably is a Chinese size 6. On the order form and tag it says US size 6 and I had my mom measure my bust and it was a little bit less than the bust measurement for the size 6 that was on the website. When I tried the dress on I tried it with a bandeau top and a strapless bra and sucked my gut in. But it still did not fit.  

I'm looking for a good new show to get into.   I always have my classic gilmore girls. I seriously watch it every single day and I've seen every episode like 6 times but it is my favorite show ever. It has just always been my favorite show.   Some of my favorites are.. Gilmore Girls Castle Amazing Race Modern Family One Tree Hill (so sad its over) Grey's Anatomy How I Met Your Mother (this is recent.. just started watching on netflix) Big Bang Theory... BAZINGA!   and some various others.. What are your favorites?? Especially ones that you LOVE to watch reruns of!

Hello there, ladies and gents!   Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:   "What's on your plate?"   The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!   For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.   Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I've been watching the news lately and am so saddened by what has happened in Oklahoma.     It made me think about "what if I lost everything" (material wise)?  One aspect of  what i would miss would be my makeup collection. I know it seems super superficial but I would miss it.     Is there any way that Sephora could send items to the residents of Newcastle &  Moore, Oklahoma who were devastated by the tornado? Shampoo, conditioner, soap, body stuff, makeup?  I know it is the least of people's concerns right now and maybe it would be better to do at a later date?     I just read a post about people who have a ton of extra Bath & Body Works items (and I know I have a ton of untouched items too)... I wonder if there is someway we could send items to these people?   I know that the BT community isnt a place to share super weighty topics but this has been on my heart today.

Ladies,how do you handle copycats?! Copycats who ask for your opinion be it makeup,clothes,anything you like or want and just post it online to make it as their Own?Ive had it with these kind of people! i have a "friend" who would always ask the brands i like,or the price for the things i acquire and the next thing i know she had a photo on facebook wearing the same item i got! even her husband does that too with my hubby.how annoying is that?!  Im too old to post about this but i just dont know how to handle them anymore.they brag about their stuff, and they are annoying as anyone ive ever known.they even STALK us online!!! (Why,hello there!) they're so obnoxious and i couldnt take it anymore!  Even the stuff we have at home they would ask us where we bought it and how much its priced. Seriously, they dont know anything about good manners. I dont ever ask someone how much her things are worth,its too personal for me. And having someone as a friend who copies and disrespects u is just so irritating!

After many days of staying up late with my mom and not finding what I wanted for my prom dress, I finally found it!!!! I was getting really frustrated with the whole ordeal and my younger sister (she's 2 years younger than me) she found what I was looking for in less than 10 minutes. I was gobsmacked, flabbergasted, in awe, you get the picture. It's really pretty, flowy, elegant, sophisticated and classy. It also doesn't have any kind of sparkle which I love because rhinestones are a big trend this prom season and I wanted to go against the trend. I'm not a big fan of super sparkly things. They do catch my eye but i prefer adding them in a tasteful way through small pieces of jewelry. I want to do rose gold jewelry (earrings, bracelets/watch) and clutch with nude platforms. Warm rose golds/bronzes are more flattering on me than regular gold which looks way too yellow against my skin. For make up I was thinking gold eyes and a red lip ( either MAC Ruby Woo or RiRi Woo (if I can get my hands on RiRi))      

Share any recent used up and trashed products here!   Mine is a box of biore nose strips---the box of 6. I've had it for awhile....sometimes I use them religiously every week and go through them like mad and sometimes they go untouched for months.      

Okay, this is kinda random but I was just wondering. Like what do others do when they have heard bad news, or having a bad day, or just are sad at the moment?   Do you go somewhere? Go for a drive? Want to be alone? Retail therapy?   For me, I gotta say it's defiantly retail therapy. It brings my mood up for a while. And sweets... nothing better than stuffing myself with candy or cookies. Haha. 

Hey Chicks,   I thought it would be fun for everyone if we did this post. I wanted everyone to think about something negative in their live that they gave up or over came no matter how hard it was and had a really good result because of it. I wanted each and everyone of us to have that "Woo Hoo" feeling knowing they had what it took to get them to the result that made them and their life better. Mine would be:   1. The  weed(being the negative) I pulled would be caffeine & the good (flower I grew) would be more radiant skin and no more jitters. 2.The weed(being the negative) would be cutting my hours at work. (Even though my job was not negative it was taking up too many hours when I wanted to spend that time with my family. The flower(good part) Getting to spend a lot more time with my family and only working 1 to 2 days a week now.

So I just bought a Lavanila fragrance during chic week (Vanilla Passionfruit) and I LOVE IT!  Does anyone recommend any of the other Lavanila scents?

Whats your guys favorite summer fragrance? I'm in the market to buy one and want some suggestions.

I have a few beauty apps that I really like on my ipad, but I'm bored and looking a new one (or two).   My all time fav is called Popsugar.  It is a free app and its like a blog/online magazine.  There are different sections like fashion,beauty,celebrity,moms,etc... There are beauty tips and articles, and lots of new ideas for nails and makeup.  Very fun and user friendly. The other one I really like is called Beautylish.  This one if free also and has stories, tip and tricks, and lots of videos...there are other sections but I like those the most.  I also like the Sephora app, this is different than the passport app Sephora has, I have both.  The app that is different than passport has videos and a social section, plus the latest (and past) catalogues, and one of my favorite sections is the nail studio.  This is where I get a lot of my nail ideas, and its cool bc it tells exactly what brand and color polish is used and has pictures with steps and tools needed.   Anyone have an app they really like/love?...preferably related to beauty but doesnt necesarily have to be.  I could use ideas for other apps as well.      

My friend's birthday is coming up and I want to get her something from sephora, what do you think would make a cute gift?

I think it is so awesome that Sephora did the eyeshadow promotion for the BT community a few months back.  I think it was a win-win. It got us in the store (I'm sure some of us picked up a little something when we went to swatch...) and then we get to try a new product!   I just really wanted to post a huge thank you!  (I haven't received mine yet but I'm like a hopeful puppy each day when I look for the mail).   I hope that we can do more of these really neat promotions within the BT community in the future. Thank you!

I wish there were more ways one could organize their shopping list on Sephora and not have it default all the time.   Sub-catagories would be awesome too : Foundation, Blush, etc... this would make it really easy to find items I am looking for.   I wish we could also create a new folder (like with email).

I'm pretty sure this has been done in beauty talk before but I want to start one if not. just to be sure... name of the game:   A-Z name of a product not the palette not the brand but the name of the color, or shade you can name more than one for each letter but you have to complete the whole list. it has to either be something you own or are interested in purchasing can be from a palette nail polish any beauty product even a fragrance name ready set go & have fun with it. (my family used to play this game in the most boring way when i was little on our trips to get to the local zoo from our house or while driving out of state with license plates bill boards street signs etc. but I think this is way more fun!)   Note: Put the name of the color first, then brand then status of wether you own it or want it but only put down one or the other & if you own it you  have to like it otherwise there is no point in introducting the title to others. because this gets people not to want to look into getting said products. it can be department store, drug store, sephora,ulta or otherwise just make sure you like it. & Enjoy!)   I will post mine upon completion   P.S. don't post too may pics. otherwise it will take forever for people to load the page LOL)

Hey Girls and New Posters,   I never want anyone to feel that they can't ask a question or feel like I'm not supporting them in becoming product savy or wanting to apply makeup in a better way. I know that everyone has to start some where and I've always answered anyone's question veteran or new comer with the best answers I have and also stuck with them until we figured it out. I'm an expressive person and I'm gointg to be truthful and say how I feel so I never ever want any one on here to feel shamed or uncomfortable with any question you may have. I want to make BT a fun but also informative place for new comers or veterans at all times.

So summer is just around the corner- what plans do you have for the summer? I hope to get in a couple of kayak trips on local rivers and a day or 2 at the beach. I just love the sound of waves on the sand and those cool ocean breezes!

With summer fast approaching, what are some of your favorite makeup colors or products to use? I cant wait to wear more bronze and gold eye shadows, coral blush, bronzer, and tinted lipbalm with spf!

Anyone noticed that instead of shopping list we have a red heart sign now? So, when you browsing stuff if the heart is red it means you have the product in your (old shopping list). If not, then its a white/clear heart. Kinda cool

I just started wearing contacts again (it's been over ten years I think) and for some reason they are a bit annoying. I never had this problem before, even when I first started wearing them, so I'm thinking that maybe my eyes have gotten dryer with age or something. I think if I find some good eye drops that will help. I've been using Complete Blink-N-Clean eye drops but they seem to make things worse (blurry). I am SOOOO sick of wearing glasses so I really want to keep using contacts. Can anyone recommend some good eye drops that are safe for contacts that might help?

Okay so I've been watching youtube videos of how people chop and melt their lipsticks with candles and hair straighteners just to transfer a lipstick from the tube to a little palette to save space. Does anyone on here do that? And if so, share a pic if you can and tell us how you did it. It looks pretty cool but there's no way I could do it. Chopping up my expensive lipsticks doesn't seem like the way to go....but I don't have a massive amount of lipsticks and don't need the extra space.

I was flipping channels and came across an excellent beauty/skin care deal.   For less than $40 you can get 4 items from the Korres Wild Rose line. You get a full size cleanser, a full size eye cream, a full size 24-Hour Moisturizing and Brightening cream and a deluxe sample of the Overnight Sleeping Facial.   It is on HSN and it is only good until midnight tonight. I did get one for myself--it is a value of over $100 for $39.50.  They will even let you break it up into two payments, which I did!   I have been wanting to try this line for a while because of a sample that I got, so I am excited to try these items.  Apparently the eye cream is a brand new item in the line...  I think I will have to come to Sephora to buy the full size Sleeping Facial soon!
