What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

 

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

 

"What's on your plate?"

 

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

 

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

 

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

 

For lunch today, I had:

 

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

OMG Blackwhiskey, I watched Top Cat when I was a little kid. I don't remember much about it except the opening credits.

Looks yummy. Although I'd pass on the melted cheese..... Are you making your own sauce?

When I have the time I do make my own sauce but I just got some marinara and went with that. I steam tomatoes to make my own sauce and add oregano and basil and a salt to taste

This is probably boring but husband wanted me to post this.

 

Leftover pork belly with some romanesco (cauliflower) and dried currants on top of all.

 

Sauce contains sugar-free orange marmalade, soy sauce, sugar-free BBQ sauce, liquid smoke and chocolate bitters.

If only that were tofu instead of pork! That cauliflower looks delicious, I've never seen it!

It looks like it's from another planet. The whole head comes to a point and then there are all these little pointed heads. LOL

ahahah that's so awesome. i was cutting up little brussel sprouts the other day and i was laughing and my mom comes in with this "omg she' s on drugs" face, then i told her how the little sprouts look like little alien heads (mars attack) and that i was chopping them up. >_>

Blackwhiskey, you're making me want to pull out my garnish cookbook. It has all these cute little animals that can be made with fruits and vegetables...

Pork belly is the food of gods.  How can it be boring?

And cauliflower too? 

 

I think I will eat some pork belly this weekend...

Good grief, if this is your idea of boring, what's an exciting meal?  The other day I had a chicken breast and some canned corn!  This looks delightful D!

Sauerkraut roasted with smoked and dried pork ribs tonight. This dish is ultra mega giga delicious!

Oh. My. You make the best dishes. First that beef bourguignon and now this?! I would eat everything covered in sauerkraut. Yes.

STOP IT!!!

 

I cannot deal with the pork belly and pork ribs.  :-(   I hate you all.  I do!  You must believe me.  Yes...I do. (please give me some ribs)

 

*No worries, this can be solved pretty quickly.  I will pick up smoked bbq ribs (dry rub) tomorrow...all will be okay with the world.  I should do this after my errands...nobody wants to see bbq lips trying on Chanel.*

Did you have both the kraut and ribs together for roasting? I'd love to know how you seasoned the ribs, I did roasted pork loin pieces this week and have more in my freezer to cook up and would love more recipes and variations!
