Hello there, ladies and gents!
Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:
"What's on your plate?"
The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!
For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.
Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.
For lunch today, I had:
-Brown rice
-Steamed egg
-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper
-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)
Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄
I haven’t had a burger in a while and yours is making me want one asap @Mellmars1185!
@blackkitty2014 Thank you. Looking back at this makes me hungry too! It is lunch time! I actually made some tomato soup from some of the tomatoes my neighbour gave to me. Looking forward to eating that today 🍅 🍲
@SportyGirly125 Thank you! We are trying to bbq as much as we can before the weather changes here.
I love a good burger @Mellmars1185. Is that an egg on top of the onion?
@JoSometimes, that would have taken the burger to the next level! It is spicy mayo and mustard. It definitely looks like an egg 🥚. I ran out of siracha recently and had a hard time finding i at the store.
@Mellmars1185. Have you ever tried Calabrian chili peppers? We love them. They come in flakes, powder, and chopped in oil.
@Ispend2much6 Oh no I have not. I will note this down. They sound lovely. Where do you find them?
@Mellmars1185 There’s a sriracha shortage right now. 🌶️
Eggplant parm with basil. The garden is coming to an end except for our volunteer tomato plants!
This looks and sounds so good!
Our tomatoes are just starting to ripen. It has finally cooled down enough in our part of the Intermountain West for tomatoes. It has been a long, long wait!
@tsavorite The growing season was an odd one for certain.
@Ispend2much6, garden fresh eggplant parm with basil sound so comforting and delish.
@Ispend2much6 oh YUM. I feel like that's one of the best ways to eat eggplant.
@CookieGirl1. I agree. The other way is pasta a la Norma.
Oh woah @Ispend2much6 . Can you please send me a recipe
@blackkitty2014 It’s Ina Garten’s recipe. The eggplant is baked instead of fried. I leave out the goat cheese but use extra mozzarella, and leave off the bread crumb topping. It soaks up all the sauce.
And I use Rao’s sauce.
