What's on your plate?

Hello there, ladies and gents!

Keeping in line with all the fun and interactive threads asking about your most recent halls, items you have your eyes on, what you're currently wearing, what's your hair routine, and more, I've decide to branch out and ask:

"What's on your plate?"

The beauty world doesn't just stop at skin care and cosmetics, it also goes hand in hand with your overall health and well-being, so with that, I'm curious to see what we're all chowing down and snacking on be it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, or inbetween!

For those with apps that help count calories or to those who just want to keep a log, here's a place to share, possibly find and share some recipes, and even tips on maintaining a balanced diet.

Don't just share food items, but even drinks! I'm a huge fan of tea and at least have a cup of green tea a day (anti-oxidants) and drink plenty of water.

For lunch today, I had:

-Brown rice

-Steamed egg

-Steamed red snapper with green onion, sesame oil, and black pepper

-Gai lan (it's a type of Chinese vegetable/greens)

Now, tell me, Beauty Talk world, what do you have? 😄

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes   It's so much easier to make since I stumbled across a time-saving tip:  I place the noodles in a 9x13 pan and pour boiling water over them, layer by layer.   Then I let them sit and they soften enough to still have some bite in the lasagna without having to boil them.

@Ispend2much6 That lasagna looks delicious! What a special way to bond with your son. I am sure everytime he makes it he will think of you. Or call you to ask for your expertise! 🥰

I think you’re right! @Mellmars1185

Today’s lunch was Hong Kong noodles in a bag with a bottle of Japanese peach water in the back propping the bag up.

I’ve never tried this before but I saw it this exact restaurant on social media. When I passed by, I knew I had to try it. It starts with a bag of cold, cooked noodles. You choose what toppings and sauces you’d like  to add and they’ll toss it all together and mix it in the bag. It’s really great for someone on the go, it’s very filling, and also very cheap!

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes @This sounds so weird but sooo good at the same time. 👍

Re: What's on your plate?

@blackkitty2014 Food in a bag was interesting but the flavour was amazing and totally worth it.

Re: What's on your plate?

I’m sure it’s delicious. I need to try if I come across one @JoSometimes 😊

Re: What's on your plate?

This looks delicious! I love HK noodles but never had it in a bag before?!?! @JoSometimes

Re: What's on your plate?

@jaaayp Apparently it’s quite popular in Hong Kong? I’ve never been but it’s a bucket list destination at least for the food scene.

Food in a bag takes me ack to my childhood, being in the Philippines and getting pop/soda in a bag. It was literally a drink in a tall plastic bag with a straw. You had to fully commit to drinking it because it was impossible to put it down once you had it!

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes cool

Re: What's on your plate?

@CorgiMommy 🙂

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes That sounds cool! I wish I had places like that near me.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Samtian It was a bit out of the way for me but definitely worth the trip.

Re: What's on your plate?

Yummy! I love the idea of this.  You pick the toppings and sauce 🤩 I would definitely give this a try @JoSometimes

Re: What's on your plate?

@CynthieLu It’s such a fun idea and it was sooo good!

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes Peach water and noodles sound delicious! Was it easy to eat on the go?

Re: What's on your plate?

@Mellmars1185 I was with my kids, so we seat down to eat lunch. I can definitely see myself eating on the go with I were by myself.

Re: What's on your plate?

@JoSometimes That is such a great idea! And I love nothing better than noodles except bread.

Re: What's on your plate?

@Ispend2much6 I wish this were more available in North America. I would honestly get this over fast food if I could.
